After spending his team’s first offseason as a franchise stockpiling draft picks Dmitry Kulikov Jersey , Vegas Golden Knights general manager George McPhee is using them for the Knights’ unexpected playoff push. The Knights acquired forward Tomas Tatar from the Detroit Red Wings for three draft picks on Monday. The Red Wings will receive Vegas’ 2018 first-round pick, a 2019 second-round pick that originally belonged to the New York Islanders and Vegas’ 2021 third-round pick.It was a steep price for the 27-year-old, but one that McPhee was willing to pay considering Las Vegas’ stunning debut season. The Knights are at the top of the Western Conference in their first season.”It was easy because when we acquired all of those picks we said we’re either going to use those picks to draft players or to acquire players and this is an example of acquiring a player,” McPhee said.”The picks that we gave up are spread out over four drafts so we have lots of picks and to spread them out over four drafts was not a problem for us. It was the way we were hoping to do a deal today.”Tatar adds both scoring and depth to Vegas’ lineup. Tatar has 16 goals and 12 assists this season and is under contract through the 2020-21 season. He’s topped the 20-goal mark in each of the past three seasons and had 19 goals in his first full season in the league in 2013-14.”We went into the deadline with one thing circled on our board, or at least this part of the deadline, and that was adding one more top-nine forward and we accomplished that,” McPhee said.”He’s only 27. He’s quick Youth Dustin Byfuglien Jersey , he’s competitive and he can score. He’s scored 20 goals a season over the last three years and he’s on pace to do it again. We didn’t want to trade draft picks for someone that isn’t going to be here after the summer and he has three years left on his contract, we’re happy about that.”With the Red Wings five points out of the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference, turning to the future was the way to go according to general manager Ken Holland.”We really made the deal because we’re looking toward the future,” Holland said. ”Obviously we missed the playoffs last year and we’re five points out this year and we’ve got a tough road to hoe here ahead.”— ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) The Edmonton Oilers have been reduced to playing spoiler in the playoff race. They made two trades over the weekend and appear poised to move Patrick Maroon before Monday’s deadline after the forward was held out for the third straight game. Despite the turmoil, they are also delivering some of their best performances right now.”It shows character in the room,” Montoya said. ”The core is committed to this team and they help and lead the way.”Strome, who had his fifth career multi-goal game, put the Oilers ahead 3-2 at 7:02 of the second period. Hampus Lindholm nearly broke up Draisaitl’s centering pass during a 3-on-2 rush, but Strome was still able to reach back and score. He added his fifth goal in five games by scoring 2:31 into the third for a 4-2 lead.Getzlaf’s long shot redirected off the back of Yohann Auvitu to cut the lead to 4-3 with six minutes to play, but Pakarinen scored 1:40 later to restore a two-goal margin. While the Oilers were surging this weekend Josh Morrissey Jersey , the Ducks went on a downward trend. They took only one of a possible four points against Edmonton and Arizona, the bottom two teams in the Pacific Division, and were sluggish from the start Sunday. Getzlaf made a poor pass at the blue line right to Cammalleri in the neutral zone, and he fed Draisaitl for a shot between Miller’s legs to put the Oilers up 1-0 after 13 seconds.”We played good for four or five games in a row and then this weekend we just kind of were a little bit flat. It’s hard to explain, but it’s just the reality of it. So, proud of the way we came back, got a point http://www.officialhockeyjetsshop.com/authentic-adidas-kyle-connor-jersey , and we’ve got to build off that and get ready for the push here,” said Getzlaf, who made amends by helping set up Rakell’s goal at 1:46 to tie it at 1.By rallying for one point, Anaheim moved into third place in the Pacific Division with 74 points. The Ducks are one point ahead of Calgary, which dropped to the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference.”We pulled our goaltender and scored two goals,” Ducks coach Randy Carlyle said. ”You don’t know what that point is going to mean at the end of the year.”NOTES: Oilers forward Zack Kassian did not return after being clipped by Kase midway through the first period. … Slepyshev scored for the second straight game. … The Oilers acquired forward Pontus Aberg from Nashville in a three-team trade. DALLAS (AP) The Dallas Stars needed a big performance from goaltender Ben Bishop to maintain their position in the playoff race Ryan O'Reilly Jersey Womens , and they got one.Bishop made 38 saves, and Dallas blanked Calgary 2-0 on Tuesday night for his 24th career shutout and fifth this season.”Ben was great, and he did an outstanding job,” Stars coach Ken Hitchcock said. ”Held us together and it’s two points.”Those points allowed the Stars to remain in the first Western Conference wild card spot and prevented Calgary, which sits just outside the second wild card position, from moving ahead of them.”There were some chances,” Bishop said, ”but I think the guys did a good job of just a one and done. There (weren’t) too many sustained chances there where they were getting two, three whacks. Sometimes you’ve got to come up and make the saves.”Bishop made 17 of them in the second period, when Dallas increased its lead to 2-0 on a power-play goal by Tyler Seguin, his 32nd.Devin Shore scored the first goal with just 39 seconds left in the first period. He skated past Calgary’s Dougie Hamilton to the left faceoff circle and lifted a wrist shot over goalie Jon Gillies.Bishop’s best work was during a Calgary 5-on-3 power play that lasted 1:55 midway through the first period. The Flames managed only two shots on goal but had other good chances.Calgary came into the game with nine power-play goals in the previous six games but missed on all six man advantages.”We had to get something on the power play, especially that 5-on-3 Brian Elliott Jersey ,” Flames coach Glen Gulutzan said. ”I saw what it did to their bench. Their crowd obviously recognizing a good kill, and I thought they got a little energy from it when it didn’t happen.”Bishop was really good tonight. We had a lot of chances. We just couldn’t get anything by him.”Midway through the second period, Seguin scored on the power play, taking a cross-ice pass from Jamie Benn low in the right circle. Seguin beat goalie Jon Gillies with a wrist shot into the upper right corner.Gillies took his first loss in six NHL games. He stopped 24 shots.”He gave us a chance,” Gulutzan said. ”I thought they made a real nice play on the first goal, and even the second goal, if Seguin gets a shot from there on the east-west pass like that he’s not going to miss too many times.”On the Stars’ third power play of the second period, Bishop stopped 3-on-2 and 2-on-1 short-handed rushes by the Flames.”What did we give up?” Hitchcock said. ”Thirty scoring chances?”We need a lot better play by a lot more people.”Shore’s goal was his first in 11 games.”The puck was coming up the wall and it kind of seemed there was nobody on Dan Hamhuis’s side. Remi Elie won his battle in their zone and it was a nice pass by him to come right out to me,” Shore said. ”I was gonna shoot and did a quick fake, and it went in.”NOTES: Bishop’s 38 saves were his most in a shutout this season. Looking at the standings, we needed it,” Flyers coach Dave Hakstol said. ”It was a good for us to get headed in the right direction.”Laine moved into a tie with Washington’s Alex Ovechkin for the most goals in the league when he scored on a one-timer on the power play at 8:58 of the third period. The 19-year-old Finn has 15 goals and six assists during an 11-game point streak.”Hitting the 40 mark, but skating now. The replay showed it crossed the line just inside the right post before Hellebuyck threw it out.”Toronto really hasn’t been helping me out too much this year,” Hellebuyck said.MacDonald picked up his fifth goal, Jakub Voracek earned his NHL-high 58th assist and rookie Nolan Patrick also earned a point against his hometown team.Earlier, Giroux found a way to stop the Flyers’ woes on the power play by scoring on a delayed penalty. The Flyers drew boos on their first man advantage and were outshot 2-1 on their second to fall into a 2-for-26 slump. But Giroux then scored his 24th from the left dot after Mrazek had skated off for an extra attacker at 5:40 of the second period. The up-and-down Flyers were playing the fifth game of a difficult six-game stretch against teams with a combined record of 245-118-37 entering Saturday. Their 0-4-1 skid had followed a six-game winning streak that moved them atop the Metropolitan Division. The Flyers entered the day third in their division and the Jets were second in the Central Division. Both teams had to make emergency recalls from the minors before the game. The Jets played their second straight game without 51-point scorer Mark Scheifele (upper body). Defensemen Dmitry Kulikov and Toby Enstrom were also out after being injured in Thursday’s 3-2 win at New Jersey.Defenseman Tucker Poolman was called up.The Flyers announced that defensemen Robert Hagg will miss two weeks and Johnny Oduya was out and day to day with upper body injuries, forcing defenseman Travis Sanheim’s recall. The Jets did little until Laine struck again. Warren Foegele carried his Charlotte Checkers bag out of the visiting locker room and insisted he hadn’t yet earned an upgrade.Foegele needs a new bag now because he beat the odds and made the Carolina Hurricanes‘ opening night roster with an impressive preseason. Only reigning Art Ross Trophy winner Connor McDavid and last year’s rookie of the year Mathew Barzal had more preseason assists than Foegele, the top surprise player to make an NHL team out of training camp.“I just came to camp, just put my head down and tried to work hard and tried to make good plays,” Foegele said. “I’m a hard-working player and I think I can fit anywhere in the lineup. I think I can grind Womens Seth Jones Jersey , I think I can make plays, but I think the work ethic is what I really take a lot of pride in and that’s what I try to show.”With seven points in eight preseason games — only nine players around the league had more — Foegele beat out other forwards on one-way contracts to make Carolina’s roster. He’s a Rod Brind’Amour kind of player because the coach said Foegele is always around the play and “even if he doesn’t produce points or whatever, you just feel like he wins his shifts.”Foegele was at his best against the defending Stanley Cup champion Capitals when he forced turnovers and set up a pair of goals. The late-blooming 22-year-old who went from the University of New Hampshire to the Ontario Hockey League to the American Hockey League doesn’t stand out with his skill but can do a little bit of everything.“He really can skate and also he can score some goals,” Hurricanes forward Sebastian Aho said. “He’s not just a grinder. I think he can really make some plays, too.”Foegele will get that chance this season. Here are some other players who surprised by making NHL season-opening rosters:MIKHAIL VOROBYEV, FLYERSThe 6-foot-2, 194-pound Russian center didn’t just challenge for a spot with Philadelphia. General manager Ron Hextall said the 2015 fourth-round pick broke down the door and forced the organization’s hand.Vorobyev led the Flyers with seven preseason points and has stood out since Day One of training camp.“It’s what you’re looking for with your young players: Come in and make an impact, and he did,” Hextall said. “He’s a real good two-way player. He’s not a young guy that you’re afraid to put him out there because of the defensive side of the puck.”MATHIEU JOSEPH, LIGHTNINGAn injury to forward Tyler Johnson opened up a role for Joseph on Tampa Bay’s third line and second power-play unit. Joseph’s quickness is his most noticeable attribute, and he made the Lighting in large part because he led them in preseason scoring with eight points on four goals and four assists.“Speed is probably the big thing Sonny Milano Jersey ,” coach Jon Cooper told reporters Monday. “What we really liked in the preseason: He was finishing a lot.”DILLON DUBE, FLAMESIt would have been very easy for Calgary to keep Curtis Lazar, but GM Brad Treliving knew Dube would play for the Flames someday. The 20-year-old made sure it was now.Dube had four goals in the preseason and could open the season on the third line with Derek Ryan and free agent signing James Neal, giving him an opportunity to put up plenty of points when the games count.JESPERI KOTKANIEMI, CANADIENSIt’s no surprise the top two picks from June’s draft, Buffalo defenseman Rasmus Dahlin and Carolina forward Andrei Svechnikov, are in the NHL right away. So maybe it shouldn’t be a shock about Kotkaniemi, but Montreal seemed to take him third as a long-range investment.Instead, the Finnish center was one of the Canadiens‘ best players in exhibition action and never looked out of place. In an organization short on big centers, Kotkaniemi is a welcome addition right away.

He has shown the ability to be a dominant No. 1 defenseman by averaging 25 minutes a game, running the point on the top power-play unit, killing penalties and drawing the toughest matchups.A 2008 first-round pick of the Capitals, Carlson likes Washington and would like to stay if the fit is there. General manager Brian MacLellan has said he believes each side wants to get a deal done but will wait until after the season to try to make it happen. The big question is whether the Capitals can make it work under the salary cap, which might require trades even though the ceiling is expected to go up to between $78 million and $82 million from $75 million.Carlson might not reach the $7.875 million annual salary of Tampa Bay defenseman Victor Hedman, who along with Drew Doughty of the Los Angeles Kings is a Norris front-runner, but he might not be far off. Carlson has more of an offensive punch than San Jose Sharks defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic Cam Talbot Jersey , whose new deal pays him $7 million a year, and he has almost double the points of the next-highest potential free agent defenseman, former Capitals teammate Mike Green, who’s 32.”He’s always been steady,” Washington goaltender Braden Holtby said of Carlson. ”His role’s expanded, obviously, which shows: time on ice and points and such. He’s got all the tools of a great defenseman. “Carlson isn’t the only player excelling in a contract year. Here are some others:JAMES VAN RIEMSDYKThirty-goal scorers get paid handsomely in free agency because they are so rarely available. Van Riemsdyk’s 33 goals are 11th-most in the NHL, and the 6-foot-3, 217-pound left-winger has gotten better around the net. Van Riemsdyk, the second overall pick in 2007, has another one of the league’s best bargain contracts at $4.25 million a year Youth Darnell Nurse Jersey , which Toronto inherited from Philadelphia. The Maple Leafs have expressed interest in keeping the 28-year-old.JOHN TAVARESUndoubtedly the best pending free agent, Tavares still not having a new contract with the New York Islanders is generating buzz and whispers like Steven Stamkos two years ago. Stamkos re-upped with Tampa Bay on the eve of free agency, which Tavares could do. The Islanders will miss the playoffs for the second consecutive season and sixth time in Tavares’ nine years in the league. The point-a-game player with 32 goals and 43 assists could fetch $10 million a year or more if he isn’t back with New York.DAVID PERRONThe expansion Vegas Golden Knights struck gold with Perron, whose 66 points are a career high and a big reason they are leading the Pacific Division. The soon-to-be 30-year-old winger got his game back after bouncing around to four different teams the past five seasons and could easily re-sign with Vegas like teammate Jonathan Marchessault did.JOE THORNTONKnee surgery knocked Thornton out of the San Jose Sharks’ lineup in January, cutting short a season in which he had 36 points in 43 games at age 38. If Thornton shows he can still play at the top of his game when he returns, he will be in demand for another one-year contract.RICK NASHGoing from the New York Rangers to Boston appears to have reinvigorated Nash’s game after just 28 points in 60 games before the trade. The 33-year-old power winger’s contract year won’t truly be judged until the playoffs, where he gets another chance to exorcise some past demons.— DETROIT (AP) It was difficult to tell in the dressing room if the Detroit Red Wings were especially excited or simply relieved.Frans Nielsen scored his NHL-record 22nd shootout winner and the Red Wings edged the Philadelphia Flyers 5-4 on Tuesday night to end a 10-game losing streak – their longest since 1977.”Obviously, everyone was frustrated,” goalie Jimmy Howard said. ”A lot of us have never gone through that in this dressing room. It was one of those things that just sort of snowballed.”I’m glad we were just able to find a way to get a W today.”Dylan Larkin scored twice, Luke Glendending had a goal and Evgeny Svechnikov got his first in the NHL for the Red Wings. Howard made 27 saves through overtime and stopped all three attempts he faced in the shootout.Sean Couturier, Matt Read Kailer Yamamoto Jersey , Shayne Gostisbehere and Travis Konecny scored for the Flyers. The win didn’t come without some anxious moments for the Red Wings. They squandered 3-1 and 4-3 leads in the third period, and were forced to kill off a penalty to Danny DeKeyser that was assessed late in the third and carried into overtime.”I though the third period was exemplary of what happens when you haven’t won,” Detroit coach Jeff Blashill said. ”You don’t have the confidence that you do when you win.”I thought our gaps got real soft, we laid back too much. Good for our guys to stay with it. I thought we had lots of chances in overtime after their power play.”Larkin gave Detroit a 1-0 lead 6:08 into the second period, whipping a wrist shot past ex-Red Wings goalie Petr Mrazek on the stick side.Glendening made it 2-0 just 1:51 later when he got loose down the right wing while killing a penalty and snapped a high wrist shot over the glove-side shoulder of Mrazek. Before the power play was up, the Flyers got one back. Claude Giroux’s shot hit the post, but Couturier slammed in the rebound for his 30th of the season. The Red Wings restored their two-goal advantage at 9:57. Svechnikov corralled a loose puck and zipped it by Mrazek, who was then replaced by Alex Lyon. Mrazek stopped 16 of 19 shots before Lyon made 11 saves in relief. It was Mrazek’s first appearance in Detroit since the Feb. 19 trade that sent him to Philadelphia.”Not the way I wanted to end the game,” Mrazek said. ”I should have had that second goal.”We gave them momentum. We gave them three goals in the second period.”Read pulled the Flyers back within one when his shot found its way past Howard through traffic 7:46 into the third. Gostisbehere tied it on a Philadelphia power play at 9:40, wiring a wrist shot over Howard’s glove-side shoulder.Larkin’s quick shot from the slot put Detroit back in front at 14:06, but just 28 seconds later Konecny tied it when his shot crossed the goal line a split second before the net was dislodged.”The second period was God-awful for us Womens Kris Russell Jersey ,” Gostisbehere said. ”We were OK in the first, but we were terrible in the second.”We knew they had lost 10 in a row, so they were going to be fragile. If we could get one in the third, we had a good chance of getting a couple more, but we can’t show up in the third period and expect to win a game.”NOTES: Glendening’s goal was Detroit’s eighth short-handed this season and the 10th given up by Philadelphia. … Flyers LW Michael Raffl (lower body) missed his first game of the season. .. With three assists, Giroux moved past Eric Lindros (659 points) into fifth place on the Flyers’ career scoring list.UP NEXTPredators: Host the New York Rangers on Thursday night.Red Wings: Host the Washington Capitals on Thursday night.—

against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday just having been released Youth Brett Jones Jersey , the Philadelphia Eagles will be down a pass rusher when the two teams line up at Lincoln Financial Field.Defensive end Derek Barnett, who had a game-changing strip-sack of Case Keenum in last year’s NFC Championship Game, will be out of this game with a shoulder injury. He did not practice all week with the ailment, and will not suit up on Sunday. Also “out” for the Eagles is veteran running back/return specialist Darren Sproles, who will miss this one with a hamstring injury. The Eagles also listed two players as “questionable.” Running back Corey Clement did not practice all week with a quadriceps issue, but is still listed as questionable http://www.vikingsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-tom-compton-jersey , while defensive tackle Haloti Ngata was limited in practice this week with a calf injury.Three veteran players for the Eagles. . .defensive tackle Fletcher Cox (ankle), wide receiver Alshon Jeffery (chest), and offensive tackle Jason Peters (quadricep). . .are listed on the injury report, but were not given an injury designation, meaning that they are a full go for Sunday. The full injury report for the Eagles is below. We’ll have more on this Sunday’s contest as we get closer to kickoff.Philadelphia Eagles injury report against Minnesota VikingsPositionPlayerInjuryWednesdayThursdayFridaySunday StatusPositionPlayerInjuryWednesdayThursdayFridaySunday StatusVikings Stefon Diggs buys $15,000 Starbucks diamond chain We all know that Minnesota Vikings Stefon Diggs is obsessed with Starbucks. He often talks his love of the Seattle based coffee chain on his various social media accounts. But this takes his love to a whole new level.TMZ sports reports that Diggs contacted Al the Jeweler from Labelle Jewelry in New Jersey to create this insane 1 Rashod Hill Jersey ,000 emeralds and VS diamonds. By the way— VS diamonds are of the highest grade clarity for diamonds, and it took about a month to finish. It was told that Diggs wanted the chain because of his loves for Starbucks, but he also got the chain because, “like Starbucks, he’s open all day.”And before everyone jumps on the he’s wasting his money train, this is small percentage of what Diggs is making under his new contract or the old one for that matter. And let’s be honest Authentic Dalvin Cook Jersey , if any one of us were making that kind of money there would absolutely be one, two, or more crazy purchases. It is damn good to be Diggs.

out of the way Youth Kirk Cousins Jersey , Chandler Jones has quietly become one of the best defensive players in the NFL.The league sack leader with a franchise-record 17 last season as an outside linebacker, Jones has switched to defensive end in the team's new scheme and is harassing quarterbacks as well or better than he has in the past.Take last week's 28-18 win at San Francisco, for example. Jones had six tackles, a sack, two tackles for loss, two quarterback hits, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a pass swatted down (preventing a two-point conversion). He was named NFC defensive player of the week for his performance."The standard that he put on tape this past week is what the standard is," defensive coordinator Al Holcomb said. "That's the expectation level for him. And we talk about that each and every day, being at his best on game day, coming to play and impacting the game because he can wreck a game."But Jones said he was nowhere near his best against the 49ers."I wouldn't say this is my best football," Jones said. "A lot of people might say that, but there were a lot of plays on Sunday that I left out there. I wish I could get them back. But that's the thing about football, you have the opportunity to correct those mistakes."Next up is a matchup with the Vikings Sunday in Minnesota, where the Cardinals will have to deal with Kirk Cousins and an array of big-play receivers.Jones expects a lot of attention."You're always getting double-teamed, being a pass rusher," he said. "You just have to be aware."In the offseason, Jones trains with his brother, MMA fighter Jon "Bones" Jones. It's helped in his endurance, Jones said White Mike Hughes Jersey , and "pretty much hand speed.""When you play the sport of football, whoever has the faster hands wins," he said.Holcomb said that when Jones plays like he did last weekend, it rubs off on everyone around him.It "picks up the other 10 men in the huddle," Holcomb said. "And they're trying to match his intensity and his play and his production."The Cardinals sent guard Jonathan Cooper and a second-round pick to acquire Jones in 2016. A year later, Arizona signed Jones to a five-year, $83 million contract with $53 million guaranteed. He's lived up to that kind of paycheck.Since 2016, Jones has 32 sacks, more than anyone else in the NFL. Von Miller is second with 27 1/2. He had seven more tackles for loss last season than any other player, in addition to leading the league in sacks. But he does it without any bravado."He's one of the premier defensive ends in the National Football League," Holcomb said. "He goes about his business in a quiet-type fashion, which is fine. If he continues to play like this, which we're counting on him doing, the recognition will come."Jones said the accolades don't mean much."I get that question all the time about not getting national recognition," he said. "My biggest thing each and every season, even when I was back in New England, is just earning the respect and the trust from my peers, my co-workers, this locker room, the coaches White Laquon Treadwell Jersey , the training staff, everyone around here. I feel if I can get trust from those guys I have those guys telling me 'You're doing a good job' then I'm happy."Salary Cap implications for Laquon Treadwell and Daniel Carlson After the Minnesota Vikings tied the Green Bay Packers 29-29 yesterday, a lot of the post game frustrations were taken out on two players, for the most part: K Daniel Carlson and WR Laquon Treadwell.Carlson missed three field goals, including two in overtime, and the last one was practically a chip shot from 35 yards that would have capped an improbable comeback win.‘Cut Carlson and Treadwell’, fans are saying this morning. I think they’re misguided and shouldn’t be just mercilessl—what’s that? Nothing dies on Twitter? I don’t know what you mean.Oh. Well, this is awkward. In my defense, Kai Forbath would have totally made that last kick, though. Now that my bewilderment over that crazy game has subsided, let’s take a look at at the salaries both these guys are making. First, we’ll look at Treadwell. All images and numbers taken off of Spotrac:Right now, the Vikings are $4 million under the cap. If they cut Treadwell, his cap hit goes from $2.7 million to $5.8 million. That’s a lot of extra dead money, and unless they re-work deals with other players to free some cap money up, this doesn’t seem very plausible. It would be a classic ‘cut off your nose to spite your face’ move, and it would leave the Vikings thin at WR with no realistic way to sign a free agent. So no, I don’t see the team making a roster move with Treadwell. But Carlson, on the other hand, is a different story. Let’s take a look:If the Vikings were to ‘go in another direction’ http://www.authenticsminnesotavikings.com/cheap-xavier-rhodes-jersey , as the saying goes, the cap hit and dead cap implications would be minimal, so it’s something that I’m sure is at least being discussed this morning at Winter Park the TCO Performance Center. And that discussion is a fairly straightforward one: Do they keep working with Carlson to try and get him straightened out, or do they cut bait? If they keep him, and he misses another game winning field goal, then what? Or is this ‘a thing’ now, and will it be something he struggles with, much like Blair Walsh did a couple seasons back? I don’t know, but this quotefrom Carlson seems telling this early in the season:I know a lot of people wanted Forbath gone, but he was a mostly reliable kicker who made arguably the biggest kick in Vikings history against New Orleans in the playoffs last year. I always thought it was a risk to place the fate of a Super Bowl caliber team on the foot of a rookie kicker, and it’s cost them a win two weeks in to the season.I don’t know that I’m willing to let Carlson figure it out. I see the talent though, and it’s a fair argument to think he can work through it and become a good kicker. Wins in the NFL are hard to come by, and the Vikings weren’t asking Carlson to kick a 55 yarder into the wind, in December. It was 35 yards, from the center of the field, in perfect conditions, with the game on the line. You have to make those. Have to.

Kickoff time for those folks will be 6:00 PM UK time.As far as our men and women in uniform overseas, we’ve got some good news and some bad news. The good news is that the American Forces Network will actually be showing this week’s game! The bad news is. . .well, you’ll have to wait for a Monday morning replay because they won’t be airing it live. Kickoff is scheduled for 0700Z on Monday, which translates to 0800L for everyone in Central Europe, 1030L for viewers in Afghanistan, and 1500L for fans in Japan and Korea.Radio InfoIf you’re not going to be anywhere near a television for this one, you’ll be able to hear the call from Paul Allen and Pete Bercich on the Vikings Radio Network. They’re looking for some rain overnight and into the early hours of Sunday morning, but that will clear up by game time. Temperatures at kickoff are forecast to be in the mid-40s, with winds coming out of the northwest at 15-20 miles per hour. It appears those conditions will persist throughout Sunday’s game.Streaming InfoThere are several legal subscription services that are available in order to stream the game legally. Among them are Fubo.tv, USTVNow Youth Harrison Smith Jersey , and Sling TV. If you’re overseas, your best bet is going to be NFL GamePass.Since it has recently been brought up, I want to make it perfectly clear that streams from Reddit or other places are not. . .I repeat, not. . .legal. If you’d like to argue about that, you can argue it somewhere else, because the moderators won’t listen to that garbage. Until Reddit, or anywhere else, has a deal with the National Football League, those streams are illegal and not welcome to be put up on this site. If you want to use them, go find them on your own and don’t be plastering them in the comments section here unless you’d rather not be in the comments of the Game Thread. . .or any other thread. . .here at DN.That should be all of the information you need in order to keep track of all the action from MetLife Stadium between the Minnesota Vikings and New York Jets on Sunday afternoon. We’ll have our Open Thread for the first quarter up about an hour before kickoff or so, and we hope that you’ll join us here for all of the fun!Seahawks at Vikings Preseason 2018: Second Half Open Thread We’re at halftime at U.S. Bank Stadium in the All-Important Third Preseason Game鈩?between the Seattle Seahawks and the Minnesota Vikings, and the home team trails going into the locker room by a score of 10-6.The Vikings put together a solid enough opening drive. Dalvin Cook got to carry the football on two of the first three offensive snaps for the Vikings, and got a combined one yard on those carries (though that was enough to get a first down). The Vikings went 49 yards in 14 plays on their opening drive, and got Daniel Carlson into position to attempt a 42-yard field goal. Unfortunately, on his first kick since winning the kicking competition over Kai Forbath, Carlson pushed his attempt wide to the left. So, despite holding onto the ball for the first half of the first quarter, the Vikings wound up with no points. The Vikings defense did what they do, forcing Russell Wilson and the Seattle offense into a three-and-out on their opening drive. Seattle punter Michael Dickson, a rookie this season, blasted an outstanding punt to pin the Vikings down at their 3-yard line to start their second possession. The second drive was the C.J. Ham & Latavius Murray variety hour, as they both had big plays on the drive. Ham had a pair of big receptions for first downs, and Murray had a 24-yard reception on a third down play to get the Vikings near midfield. After Ham’s second big catch put the Vikings into Seattle territory, Kirk Cousins found Stefon Diggs for a 27-yard pitch-and-catch down to the Seattle 10.To start the second quarter. . .after the Seahawks only had the ball once and ran three offensive plays. . .the Vikings had third-and-goal from the Seattle 5, but Cousins was crushed for what appeared to be a sack by Bobby Wagner, but a defensive holding call on Seattle gave the Vikings a new set of downs. Minnesota took advantage, as Murray went over from a yard out to give the Vikings the lead. Strangely, the Vikings elected to go for two points Youth Stefon Diggs Jersey , and Cousins’ pass for Laquon Treadwell fell incomplete to keep the purple’s lead at 6-0.The Vikings’ scoring drive was 13 plays, 97 yards, for those of you scoring at home. Or, hey, even if you’re by yourself. They were also 5-for-6 on third downs on their first two possessions after the team went a combined 0-for-12 on third downs last week against the Jacksonville Jaguars.Seattle had a significantly better second possession, as Wilson marched his team into Minnesota territory with a series of completions. A run by Mike Davis then moved the Seahawks to the Minnesota 23-yard line. Danielle Hunter then buried Davis for a loss, but Wilson then found Brandon Marshall. . .yes, that Brandon Marshall. . .for a big gain to the Minnesota 6. Seattle finished the drive on the next play, as Chris Carson took a handoff and went in for a Seattle touchdown. Sebastian Janikowski. . .yes, that Sebastian Janikowski. . .connected on the extra point, and the road team moved out in front by a score of 7-6.Minnesota went three-and-out on the subsequent drive, and Ryan Quigley’s punt put the Seahawks at their own 47-yard line. It didn’t take them long to get into Minnesota territory, but the Vikings’ defense stood up and held the Seahawks to a 35-yard field goal by Janikowski to make the score 10-6.The Vikings got a chance to practice their two-minute offense, starting their drive from their own 17-yard line. Laquon Treadwell played a big role on the drive, catching a 12-yard pass for a first down and then putting together a 27-yard catch-and-run on a third down to push the Vikings into Seattle territory. The Vikings’ offense stalled, and Carlson came on again to attempt a 42-yard field goal. . .and he missed it, again. Wide to the left, again. Not what the Vikings need to see, and the score remained 10-6. That’s how we went into the locker room at halftime.Cousins got a lot of work in the first half, as he threw the ball 28 times, completing 17 of them for 182 yards. The Vikings also went 7-of-9 on third down, which is a vast improvement over last week, obviously. If not for the two missed field goals by the rookie. . .which is certainly concerning. . .the Vikings would have taken a lead into the locker room. Cousins connected with six different receivers, with Diggs leading the way with 51 yards on four catches. We’re at halftime at U.S. Bank Stadium, the Minnesota Vikings trail the Seattle Seahawks by a score of 10-6, and our rookie kicker apparently has a case of the yips now that he’s officially won the job. What will the second half hold? Join us and find out!

At the very least, Eli Apple didn't have to worry about whether he'd be welcomed warmly in the corner of Saints headquarters where the defensive backs' lockers are clustered.Apple's former Ohio State teammates, cornerback Marshon Lattimore and safety Vonn Bell, took care of that."We're glad to have him," Bell said, smiling widely.Added Lattimore, "I know what he's capable of. I know the skillset. He's a great player, a big player, strong. He's got good feet. He's going to get it right."For the Saints' sake New Orleans Saints Womens Hoodie , he'd better.New Orleans enters its Week 8 test at Minnesota ranked 28th in the NFL against the pass, allowing nearly 276 yards per game through the air. Making matters worse has been the timing of some the Saints' coverage busts, most recently at the end of Sunday's victory at Baltimore , when Ravens receiver John Brown caught what should have been a tying touchdown pass in the final half-minute with no defender near him. Baltimore's extra point kick sailed wide, however, and New Orleans (5-1) escaped with another victory. In Week 2 against Cleveland , the Saints gave up a game-tying, 47-yard touchdown pass to Antonio Calloway with 1:16 to go and would have fallen behind if kicker Zane Gonzalez hadn't missed an extra point. New Orleans then needed a field goal with 21 seconds left to clinch that victory.Lattimore said New Orleans has been "terrible" in 2-minute defense. So when the Saints had an opportunity on Tuesday to acquire Apple , who was a 2016 New York Giants first-round draft choice, in exchange for a 2019 fourth-round draft pick and 2020 seventh-rounder, they seized it."We felt like it was in our best interest," Saints coach Sean Payton said. "We felt like it was going to help us this year."Apple, 23, practiced with New Orleans for the first time on Wednesday. And while his status for this Sunday's game remains unclear, he said he was "very excited" to be traded to New Orleans from the languishing Giants, a team with which he has struggled at times and come under public criticism from teammates and staff."It's a great organization here, a lot of great players, too," Apple said after his first Saints practice. "I just can't wait to come in and contribute."Apple's future in New York seemed tenuous since the 2017 season, when Giants safety Landon Collins called Apple a "cancer Womens Customized New Orleans Saints Jerseys ," and when Apple also was suspended for confrontational behavior toward coaches during practice. This season, however, Apple seemed to be following through on his pledge that his attitude would be "all business." In five games with the Giants this fall, he'd made or assisted on 22 tackles, defended five passes, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble.Asked in New Orleans if he needed a change of scenery, Apple responded, "I wouldn't necessarily say I needed it, but it's great to have one right now.""A lot of juice around here," Apple added. "A lot of excitement."Payton, who normally emphasizes the importance of character in the players he acquires, said he was comfortable Apple could help after speaking with the defensive back's former teammates who now play for the Saints."It's not uncommon that we would visit with certain players on a roster about guys they might've played with in college or maybe with prior to (on) another NFL team," Payton said. "We felt good on the information.
