So much for struggling without Jameis Winston.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are not only thriving in the suspended quarterback's absence White Peyton Barber Jersey , they're evolving into an offensive juggernaut that's set to perform on a national stage when the Pittsburgh Steelers visit Monday night. Thanks to Ryan Fitzpatrick and a talented collection of playmakers that include DeSean Jackson, Mike Evans, O.J. Howard and Chris Godwin, the Bucs (2-0) are off to their best start in eight years and have the NFL's top-ranked offense. The Steelers (0-1-1) are not far behind at No. 2, however inconsistency on defense has Ben Roethlisberger and Co. winless through two weeks."I respect what they've done. I'm not so sure I'm surprised," Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said of Tampa Bay's emergence with wins against the New Orleans Saints and the reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. They've done it with Fitzpatrick, a 35-year-old journeyman who has thrown TD passes for seven NFL franchises, delivering the best two games of his career."Man, he's got some explosive weapons. He's stepping in for Winston, but Fitz is not a step-in guy. This guy has started in multiple cities," Tomlin said."We've seen him extensively in Cincinnati and Buffalo. He's a smart guy, Ivy League-educated, always made good decisions. That's why he's been able to sustain himself and play for the length of time that he's played."What once looked as if it might be a potentially disastrous stretch to open the season with Winston suspended three games for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy suddenly is an opportunity for the team's first 3-0 start since 2005.Very encouraging for a franchise that has missed the playoffs 10 consecutive seasons, the second-longest drought in the league behind the Cleveland Browns (15).Fitzpatrick believes he's playing the best football of his career."But, I mean, it's early. Consistency is the biggest thing," the 14th-year pro said. "Trying to stay consistent with a high level of performance and just continue to try to win games."As well as things are coming together for the Bucs, though, it's been rocky times for the struggling Steelers, off to their worst start in five years.Pro Bowl running back Le'Veon Bell has not reported to the team and signed his one-year franchise tenderAnd star receiver Antonio Brown made headlines after shouting at offensive coordinator Randy Fichtner on the sideline last week and then responding to criticism on social media from a former team employee by suggesting the team trade him if it wants to find out how productive he can be without Roethlisberger.Tomlin, however Youth Chris Godwin Jersey , isn't flinching."We are two weeks in. We do not have a large body of work. We are focused on winning this next opportunity," the coach said."I am not ready to paint with a broad brush ... in terms of where our football team is or what is going to define this group."Some things to know about the Steelers and Buccaneers:JUJU ON THAT BEATAll the self-created melodrama surrounding Brown has overshadowed another significant development for Pittsburgh's offense: the continued rise of second-year wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster.The 21-year-old came on strong over the second half of his rookie season in 2017 and has picked up right where he left off. Smith-Schuster is tied for Brown for the team lead in receptions (18) and his 240 yards receiving ranks fifth in the league."He just has a great knack and feel for the game, knowing when to sit down in zone, knowing when to move in man," Roethlisberger said."He uses his body and size at times, so I think he's really studied the game, and studied his game and has really gotten better."RING OF HONORHall of Famer Tony Dungy, who won a Super Bowl as a player with the Steelers and later transformed Tampa Bay from a laughingstock into a championship contender as a coach, will be inducted into the Bucs' Ring of Honor during a halftime ceremony. He joins Hall of Famers Lee Roy Selmon, Warren Sapp and Derrick Brooks, as well as Doug Williams, Jimmie Giles, Mike Alstott, John Lynch, Paul Gruber, coaches John McKay and Jon Gruden and late owner Malcolm Glazer as members of the ring.NOT HERE TO TALK ABOUT THE PASTThe Steelers have made it a habit of stubbing their toe early in the season only to find their groove at midseason and reach the playoffs each of the past four years. Not that their resiliency has provided them any sort of comfort facing the club's worst start since 2013."It doesn't matter what we've done in the past," defensive end Cam Heyward said. "I'm not worried about what we've done two years ago, a year ago. Worry about what we've got to do now, the present. Be in this moment. Understand we made some mistakes. Now we've got to correct it."FLAG DAYDefensive breakdowns and Brown's behavior aren't Pittsburgh's only problems. The Steelers have hurt themselves under an avalanche of penalty yards.Pittsburgh has been flagged 24 times for an NFL-high 206 yards in penalties through two weeks.Tomlin described the issues as "popcorn," meaning they're coming from all over the place. If there's a bright side for the Steelers, it's that they've found a way to clean things up as the season progresses.A year ago they were called for 23 penalties through two games and finished with the ninth-fewest penalty yards in the league.AP Sports Writer Will Graves in Pittsburgh contributed to this report. While Sunday was another excruciating loss for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers White Chris Conte Jersey , and a loss that left many questions around the direction of the franchise, there were some impressive individual performances against the Bengals. Ryan Fitzpatrick: Who would’ve thought that when Fitzpatrick came in with two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter that he would be able to make the most impressive list. He is on the list and he is at the top because of his play on Sunday. Fitzpatrick brought the team back from Jameis Winston’s mistakes an erased an 18 point deficit in the fourth quarter. Fitz finished the game completing 11 of 15 passes for 194 yards and two touchdowns as well as 0 interceptions. The team was re-energized by Fitzpatrick and rallied around him as the fourth quarter went on. Fitzpatrick will be the starting quarterback going forward and I expect him to take full advantage of this opportunity. Mike Evans: It doesn’t really matter who plays quarterback for the Buccaneers, Evans shows up weekly and does his job. On Sunday, he finished with six catches for 179 yards and a touchdown. The touchdown came on a 72-yard bomb from Fitzpatrick to bring the Buccaneers back within striking distance. On the season, Evans has 46 catches, for 770 yards and four touchdowns. Currently, Evans ranks fifth in the NFL in receiving yards and is only 42 yards behind Julio Jones for second. Evans came into training camp on a mission,he is having his best season yet and will only continue to get better. He could become the best receiver in the NFL if Tampa Bay can just find a consistent quarterback. O.J. Howard: Howard has really come into his own this season. After an up and down rookie year, he has answered the bell everytime he is called upon this season. He finished yesterday’s contest with four catches for 68 yards and a touchdown. The touchdown helped the Buccaneers tie the game with a minute remaining. Howard continues to be a matchup nightmare for linebackers all over the league, and Fitzpatrick will continue to exploit that in the coming weeks. Howard currently ranks fifth amongst tight ends in receiving yards on the season with 419.Adam Humphries: When Winston returned in the second half of the Chicago Bears game, so did Adam Humphries. Hump is as reliable as they come as a slot receiver and played one of the best games of his career on Sunday. He finished with 7 catches for 76 yards and missed a touchdown by about 6 inches, literally. He is always reliable, always where he needs to be and has toughness that an undersized receiver like himself needs. We will see if the return of Fitzpatrick impacts Humphries, but if the production does stay the same, the Buccaneers should look to extend Humphries. Hump has done everything asked of him the last four years and the Buccaneers should reward him if his play continues. Jason Pierre-Paul: Another Sunday, another sack for JPP. Actually, another two sacks for JPP. Pierre Paul also added two tackles for a loss as well. The veteran defensive end is up to eight on the season and is tied for second in the NFL and only two behind Aaron Donald, who has played one more game then JPP. It was JPP’s seventh straight game with a sack and he is well on his way to double digits sacks on the year and that is unheard of in Tampa Bay. Pierre-Paul is really the only defensive player that has shown up consistently on a week to week basis and to me, is the unquestionable leader on the defense. Hopefully in the coming weeks there will be more of a balance on both sides of the ball in terms of who makes the list.

Fantasy tip: Vikings aiming for return of RB Dalvin Cook, who has missed two of last three games to hamstring injury. Cardinals have allowed league-most eight rushing TDs. The Minnesota Vikings played a back-to-the-basics game, leaning on Latavius Murray's powerful legs and a smothering defense that was in prime form. The Arizona Cardinals just couldn't keep up on either front.Murray helped the Vikings revive their running attack with a career-high 155 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries, wearing down the Cardinals on the way to a 27-17 win on Sunday."I don't want to sit here and say that we cracked the code, because they have been vulnerable to the run game White Mike Hughes Jersey , so we have to be honest about that on all levels," Murray said. "But I will say I feel we're capable of running the ball that way, no matter who we're playing."Starting in place of Dalvin Cook (hamstring) for the third time in the past four games, Murray had 66 yards by halftime to top the team average over the first five games. The previous long gain by a Vikings running back was Cook's 15-yarder in the season opener, which Murray topped four times against a Cardinals defense that entered the game allowing the second-most rushing yards in the league."If you allow teams to rush for almost 200 yards on you, you're not going to win that game. It is what it is," defensive tackle Corey Peters said. "That's kind of been our thing all year, and that's why we're 1-5."Even Kirk Cousins joined the fun for the Vikings (3-2-1) with an option-style run across the goal line in the third quarter, before throwing to Adam Thielen for a score on the following possession. The Vikings celebrated their touchdowns with a choreographed a clumsy "dead-arm" dance that Thielen recalled from college.Thielen had 11 receptions for 123 yards, his sixth straight 100-yard game to become the first player in the NFL since 1961 to start a season with a streak that long. Thielen's 58 catches are the most in league history through six games.Budda Baker returned a fumble off a sack by Chandler Jones for a 36-yard touchdown and Tre Boston had a diving interception later in the second quarter, and the Cardinals (1-5) constantly pressured Cousins with four sacks, seven hits and seven deflected passes. He leads league with five lost fumbles.Cousins still managed to complete 24 of 34 attempts for 233 yards, thanks mostly to Thielen and his exceptional ability to get open anywhere on the field and turn off-target throws into clutch catches. He made a toe-dragging sideline grab on third-and-13 right at the first-down marker to extend the opening possession of the third quarter White Laquon Treadwell Jersey , before capping the drive in the end zone with a 13-yard reception on a seam route after leaving linebacker Josh Bynes in his wake with a stutter step. The tone was set in the first quarter on Murray's 21-yard touchdown run , when he flattened Antoine Bethea with a stiff arm."It's not a game to invite Chandler Jones to come wreck it and get them right back in the game, so we were trying to run the ball," Cousins said.TESTED ROSENComing off his first career NFL victory last week, Rosen went 21 for 31 for 240 yards. The Cardinals failed to move the chains on all 12 of their third or fourth down plays. That included a third-quarter interception by Anthony Harris and a fourth-and-goal stop of David Johnson by Xavier Rhodes at the 1 in the second quarter."He can learn from this, being in this hostile environment," Cardinals coach Steve Wilks said. "This is how the NFL is. He's got to be able to operate under these kinds of pressures, and everybody around him needs to help him out."FITZ'S FAILURELarry Fitzgerald, the intended target when Harris jumped his route, had five catches for 39 yards in his hometown. The 15th-year veteran fell to 0-6 in career visits to Minnesota, where the Cardinals have lost 10 straight games since they were in St. Louis in 1977.CHANDLER CHALLENGEThe Vikings missed injured left tackle Riley Reiff (foot), with Jones often overpowering Rashod Hill, who switched sides as rookie Brian O'Neill made his first start at right tackle. Jones had 1陆 sacks http://www.authenticsminnesotavikings.com/cheap-xavier-rhodes-jersey , and Benson Mayowa had two deflected passes from the other defensive end spot while rotating with Golden.BY THE NUMBERSJohnson had a late touchdown run and 55 yards on 18 attempts, but he lost a fumble in the first quarter. ... Danielle Hunter had two of Minnesota's four sacks, giving him at least one in each of the first six games for the third-longest streak in team history.INJURY REPORTCardinals: LG Mike Iupati (back) was replaced in the third quarter by Jeremy Vujnovich (hamstring), who left in the fourth quarter. RG Justin Pugh (hand) also went out, forcing John Wetzel and Daniel Munyer to man the guard spots.Vikings: CB Mike Hughes limped off in the fourth quarter with a left knee injury, and he was on crutches afterward. Coach Mike Zimmer said Hughes would have an MRI on Monday. ... With strong safety Andrew Sendejo (groin) inactive, George Iloka got his first start. Good morning

Color Rush Riley Dixon Jersey , New York Giants fans! Another game, another loss for the Giants on Monday night, this one by a 23-20 score to the Atlanta Falcons. The Giants are 1-6 for a second straight year, and we should be used to this by now. Let’s go inside the locker room and see what Giants players were saying after their latest disappointment.Quarterback Eli ManningOn the failed fourth-down play in the first half where he chose not to throw to Odell Beckham Jr. ...“Just a little a bootleg moment. Looked back and thought maybe I could get it to Odell [Beckham Jr.], see if he could get it and make some ground but obviously, we had some other guys coming across that could work for me but that’s who I was looking at.”On the failed quarterback sneaks in the final minute ...“We’ve been pretty good with the sneaks all year. In that scenario, we tried to surprise them and just get that one-yard with the sneak. We just didn’t have success with it.”On being 1-6 for a second straight season ...“I’m not worried about years in a row. Just shocked to be here again this year. The way we work and the players we have, I’m honestly disappointed but that’s what happens when you don’t play to the caliber that we can and we’re not doing that.”Other playersOdell Beckham Jr. on moving forward at 1-6 ...“I think that’ll be the true test of your character, the grit, the determination. The ultimate measure of a man is how he stands in moments of challenge and controversy. Who you are when things are going well is not a true testament to your character. It’s when times are like this. I hate saying this, but we’ve just got to keep working and just got to keep fighting. You’ve got to keep your hard hat on and keep digging. You never know how close you are unless you stop digging. That’s all we can do. We put ourselves in a hole. Dig yourself out.”Evan Engram Color Rush Landon Collins Jersey , also on being 1-6 ...“We’re in this. We can’t go anywhere. We can’t just quit on the season. It’s definitely somewhere we don’t want to be, but we’ve got to keep working. We have no choice.“We know we have talent. We’re doing things. We’re just not putting the big picture together. That’s what’s frustrating. Like I said, we’re in it and can’t go anywhere. We’re just going to keep working, and it will eventually pop.”Center Spencer Pulley on his first start ...“Obviously, it wasn’t good enough. We didn’t play good enough to get the win, but we did some good things. Obviously, we did some bad things. We will have to watch the film to see what was going on. The run game has obviously got to be better, and that’s something we got to work on. We need to be more in sync as an offensive line, I think. That’s something we’re going to have to watch and learn as a group.”Cornerback Janoris Jenkins on the 47-yard touchdown pass he gave up ...“We had a roll coverage. We were playing where the safety pops out to the corner, and I pop out to the half. They ran a corner-post and threw it to the far hash and caught the ball.“I think I have to stay further inside, but it was just a good play call by them. I got to do better on my end and just move forward.”Giants injury news Youth Sterling Shepard Jersey , 9/27: Olivier Vernon practices for second straight day Olivier Vernon participated in a second straight practice for the New York Giants on Thursday, leading to the possibility that he could make his season debut Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.“It’s progress, so that’s a good sign,” Vernon said before Thursday’s practice.Vernon, the Giants best pass rusher, has yet to play because of a high ankle sprain suffered during a preseason practice. Coach Pat Shurmur said Thursday that Vernon looked “better” during Wednesday’s practice than he had a week ago. “Again we’re hopeful (he will play),” Shurmur said. “We’ll see.”Vernon stretched and did some individual work.“You’re talking about a very special player playing on the edge,” defensive coordinator James Bettcher said of Vernon. “We’d love to have him and when we do get him back whether that’s this week or in the future we’ll be excited to have him back.”Cornerback Ali Apple (groin) stretched, but once again did no work beyond that.Defensive tackle Damon Harrison, wide receiver Cody Latimer and running back Jonathan Stewart were all either riding bikes or working with trainers at the beginning of practice.“It’s super-important that we have all of our best players on the field,” Shurmur said. The absence of Harrison Alec Ogletree Jersey , the massive run-stopping nose tackle, might raise alarm bells. Shurmur, though, doesn’t sound concerned.“I wouldn’t worry about Snacks,” Shurmur said. Could Harrison play without practicing?“I think he’s one of those guys, he’s veteran enough where he could possibly get that done,” the coach said.Week 6 Injury ReportPlayerPositionInjuryTues.Wed.Game StatusPlayerPositionInjuryTues.Wed.Game Status

San Francisco 49ers at Minnesota Vikings:

Game time www.minnesotavikingsteamonline.com , channel, radio, streaming and more Amazingly, incredibly, astoundingly, we have finally made it to Week 1 of the 2018 NFL regular season for the Minnesota Vikings. The purple will play host to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium, and if you want to follow along with all of the action, we’re here to tell you how to do precisely that.Television InfoThis game will be kicking off at the only really appropriate time for regular season NFL football, that being noon Central time on Sunday. This game is going to be broadcast on FOX, which is KMSP-9 in the Twin Cities. If you’re wondering whether or not you’re in the local broadcast area for this game, here is the first map of the year from the folks at 506 Sports. The Vikings/49ers game is in the red area, so there’s actually a really good chance that your local FOX affiliate is carrying this game. In the event that they’re not, the game can be found on the DirecTV Sunday Ticket package on Channel 710. The play-by-play for this one will be handled by Kevin Burkhardt and Charles Davis. For our Canadian friends. . .well, I’m having trouble finding a decent source for Canadian television listings. If you have a lead on one, please let me know.If you’re watching this one from the United Kingdom Minnesota Vikings T-Shirt , it appears that this game is going to be aired on Sky Sports. Kickoff time in the U.K. is 6:00 PM U.K. time. For our men and women serving overseas, this game will. . .not be aired live on the American Forces Network. That’s a damn shame. . .and, frankly, for AFN, par for the proverbial course. They will be showing a replay on Monday, 10 September, at 0600Z. That means a kickoff time of 0700L for viewers in Central Europe, 0930L for everyone in Afghanistan, and 1400L for everyone in Japan and Korea.Radio InfoIf you’re not going to be anywhere near a television for this one, you’ll be able to hear the call from Paul Allen and Pete Bercich on the Vikings Radio Network. That link goes to a list of Vikings Radio Network affiliates across the Upper Midwest. See if yours will be carrying the game. There are a couple of other places you can find it online as well, including the TuneIn radio service as well as the KFAN site (if you’re on a desktop or laptop computer only. . .it won’t work on phones or tablets). If you’re going to be listening via satellite radio, you can have the Vikings’ feed on Sirius Channel 81 or XM Channel 226. If you’re using the SiriusXM Online App, the Vikings’ permanent home there is Channel 819.Referee InfoAccording to the good folks at Football Zebras, the officiating duties this week will be done by the crew headed up by Clay Martin. If that name doesn’t sound familiar, that’s probably because this is his first season as an NFL referee after spending three seasons as an Umpire on officiating crews. So Minnesota Vikings Hats , hopefully he’ll get off on the right foot here.Weather InfoWell, this game is going to be taking place indoors, so obviously the weather won’t affect Sunday’s contest in any way. As far as tailgating is concerned, there shouldn’t be any issues, according to the folks from WeatherNation. The weather is going to be almost fall-like in the Twin Cities on Sunday, with partly cloudy skies and a high temperature in the low 70s, so the suds should be flowing during the pre-game. . .uhh, “ceremonies.”Streaming InfoThere are several legal subscription services that are available in order to stream the game legally. Among them are Fubo.tv, USTVNow, and Sling TV. If you’re overseas, your best bet is going to be NFL GamePass.Since it has recently been brought up, I want to make it perfectly clear that streams from Reddit or other places are not. . .I repeat, not. . .legal. If you’d like to argue about that, you can argue it somewhere else, because the moderators won’t listen to that garbage. Until Reddit Minnesota Vikings Hoodie , or anywhere else, has a deal with the National Football League, those streams are illegal and not welcome to be put up on this site. If you want to use them, go find them on your own and don’t be plastering them in the comments section here unless you’d rather not be in the comments of the Game Thread. . .or any other thread. . .here at DN.That should be all of the information you need in order to keep track of all the action from U.S. Bank Stadium between the Minnesota Vikings and San Francisco 49ers on Sunday afternoon. We’ll have our Open Thread for the first quarter up about an hour before kickoff or so, and we hope that you’ll join us here for all of the fun! Still no answers on A-Rod.Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is questionable for Sunday's NFC North showdown with Minnesota.Rodgers, who missed the end of the first half of the Week 1 victory against Chicago with an injured left knee, did not practice Wednesday and Thursday and would not have practiced on Friday."Aaron's getting better," coach Mike McCarthy said Friday. "I would say he feels better than he did at the beginning of the week. (Saturday's) practice will be a pretty big indicator. ... nothing has changed. He's clearly day to day. Hopefully, he'll be able to do work (Saturday)."Even if Rodgers doesn't practice on Saturday, he could play on Sunday."You'd like to walk off the field Saturday and have your plan set, but this is the National Football League, things happen," McCarthy said. "We'll be ready for anything, but I know he wants to play."Rodgers was injured on a sack by Roy Robertson-Harris with about nine minutes to go in the first half against Chicago. He was carted into the locker room for examination, returned for the start of the third quarter and led the Packers back from a 20-0 deficit by throwing for 273 yards and three touchdowns in the second half."His competitive nature kind of takes over www.thevikingsfootballauthentic.com ," offensive coordinator Joe Philbin said Thursday. "He's obviously got exceptional talent. You don't have to be an expert to figure that out. But I think the thing that separates a lot of great players from good players in this league is that competitive spirit. You certainly saw that in full force in the second half. Some of the things he did were pretty special."After the game Sunday, Rodgers compared his mobility to that of a "statue." One of Rodgers' greatest assets is his ability to move in the pocket and extend plays out of the pocket. Any lack of mobility could play into the favor of a Vikings defense that led the NFL in points allowed last season, and intercepted San Francisco's Jimmy Garoppolo three times in Week 1."There's two kinds of mobility," Rodgers said Wednesday. "In the pocket, (the) subtle movements that allow you to have a clean launch point, and then there's movement that allows you to get outside the pocket, which allows you to extend plays and take shots down the field or run. And we'll see what kind of mobility I'm allowed to have."If Rodgers can't play, DeShone Kizer would get the start. Kizer had the NFL's worst passer rating and lost all 15 starts as a rookie with Cleveland last season. The Packers acquired him in an offseason trade, and he beat out Brett Hundley, who went 3-6 in nine starts last season with Rodgers sidelined by a broken collarbone. In his first two series against Chicago, Kizer lost a fumble and threw an interception that was returned for a touchdown."I think obviously we have the best player in the league in our locker room," Kizer said of Rodgers. "If he's ready to go, I'm looking forward to cheering him on and doing whatever I can to help him. It's also my duty and job to make sure I'm ready to go just in case he's not."NOTES: Also questionable for the Packers are receiver Davante Adams (shoulder) and linebacker Oren Burks (shoulder). Safety Josh Jones (ankle) will miss a second consecutive game.

Giants-Lions final score: Giants 30

Authentic Alec Ogletree Jersey , Lions 17 in second preseason game The New York Giants defeated the Detroit Lions, 30-17, on Friday night in the team’s second preseason game of the year. There was no Eli Manning for New York; Friday night’s starter was instead Davis Webb, Manning’s backup who performed erratically in the Giants’ Week 1 preseason loss to the Cleveland Browns. Round 1 2018 draft pick Saquon Barkley didn’t play either, with the rookie running back nursing a hamstring strain, and receiver Odell Beckham Jr. sat out for the second straight game.Webb was shaky to open Friday’s game as well, but did engineer a scoring drive to bridge the first and second quarters which included a conversion via quarterback sneak on fourth-and-1. Lions cornerback Darius Slay was flagged for pass interference, setting up an and-goal situation for the Giants. Wayne Gallman had the touchdown grab on third down, giving the Giants a 7-3 lead. Another fourth-down play on the following drive, though, did not convert for New York, resulting in a turnover on downs. That, thankfully, did not lead to any Lions points.New York’s next offensive series featured a 40-yard completion from Webb to receiver Russell Shepard. It was capped off by Aldrick Rosas converting a 55-yard field goal attempt. Rosas’ career long in a regular-season game is 52 yards. The Giants went into halftime with a 10-3 lead after Lions kicker Matt Prater missed a 49-yard field goal attempt with under 30 seconds to go in the second quarter.Webb gave way to rookie Kyle Lauletta in the second half. Webb had a solid night, completing 14 of his 20 pass attempts for 140 yards and a touchdown and he connected with 10 different receivers. The second half saw a key sequence of events for the Giants. Detroit’s first possession of the third quarter ended with Matt Cassel being intercepted by New York linebacker Ray Ray Armstrong (with the help of a tip of the ball by cornerback Grant Haley). Armstrong returned the interception for 24 yards, to Detroit’s 12-yard line. Two plays later, Lauletta ran in the 10-yard touchdown, giving the Giants a 17-3 lead. The Lions weren’t done turning the ball over, with Detroit running back LeGarrette Blount failing to convert on a fourth-down rushing attempt inside the Giants’ 10-yard line on the following drive. That turnover, though, only resulted in a Giants punt. Running back Jalen Simmons was also hurt during the drive. He was later announced to have suffered a concussion and ruled out for the remainder of the game. The Giants extended their lead further in the fourth quarter with Gallman running in an 11-yard touchdown, giving the Giants a 24-3 lead. While the Lions finally scored their first touchdown of the night, an 11-yard pass thrown by quarterback Jake Rudock to receiver T.J. Jones, it was too little, too late for the home team. Robert Martin added a 16-yard touchdown run near the end of the fourth quarter, in quarterback Alex Tanney’s first drive the game, giving the Giants the 30-10 advantage. The Lions Authentic Nate Solder Jersey , though, had the final points of the night, with Rudock rushing for a one-yard score on fourth down in the game’s waning seconds.Lauletta ended his night having completed two of his five passes for 27 yards, plus his rushing score. Tanney completed two of his three pass attempts for 36 yards. Martin was the Giants’ rushing leader in the game, with seven carries for 47 yards and a score, while Russell Shepard’s one 40-yard catch led the team in receiving. Gallman led the team in scoring, with two touchdowns, one rushing and one receiving. On defense, the Giants totaled three sacks, including getting to Lions starting quarterback Matthew Stafford twice. Defensive end Kerry Wynn was a defensive standout, with five solo tackles (including one for a loss), a sack and a quarterback hit, but the entire defense performed well. While the Lions put up 308 yards of offense, only 67 came via rushing. Detroit also converted just five of their 14 third downs.Meanwhile, the kicking battle continued on special teams. Rosas made the long field goal in the first half, as well as an extra point, while Marshall Koehn converted two of his three extra point attempts.Moments that matteredThe Webb-led scoring drive in the first-to-second quarters was rife with notable moments. While none were more important than Gallman’s touchdown catch, it also included Webb’s fourth-down conversion, Slay’s penalty for Detroit which put the Giants in better scoring position and two steps backward — Gallman losing two yards rushing on first-and-goal and Webb being called for delay of game on third down. All was forgiven, though, with the Webb-to-Gallman touchdown.Rosas converted a personal-best 55-yard field goal in the second quarter, giving the Giants a 10-3 lead heading into halftime. It also didn’t hurt that Prater missed his 49-yard field goal on the following drive, preventing the Lions from shrinking their deficit. Armstrong’s interception, which resulted in Lauletta’s running score, allowed the Giants to expand their lead to 14 points early in the second half. It proved to be a scoring gap that the Lions could not overcome. The Giants ended up scoring 24 unanswered points, including Gallman’s second touchdown of the night, an 11-yard run in the fourth quarter. Rudock connected with Jones for a touchdown on the Lions’ next possession. The Giants reached the 30-point threshold in the fourth quarter Color Rush Alec Ogletree Jersey , thanks to Martin’s 16-yard touchdown run.Play of the gameHaley tipping Cassel’s pass, which resulted in Armstrong’s interception that set up Lauletta’s touchdown run turned the course of the game in the Giants’ favor. The Giants went from having a seven-point lead over the Lions to a 14-point lead, and the Lions were never able to catch up to within a score or better in the second half.Standout depthGallman ended the game with 5 carries for 26 yards, 2 receptions for 9 yards and two of the Giants’ three touchdowns. While he may not be a major factor come the regular season, as he sits behind Barkley and Jonathan Stewart on the depth chart, his performance this preseason has showcased his talent and versatility. What’s next?Giants practices will resume on Sunday and continue through Wednesday in preparation for their third preseason game of the summer, against the New York Jets. The “dress rehearsal” for the regular season should see more of the Giants’ starters in the game for at least the first half. The contest takes place on Friday, Aug. 24, with a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff.Giants news, 9/26: Pat Shurmur’s flexibility, Eli’s weapons, Ereck Flowers, more Good morning, New York Giants fans! Let’s check the headlines as the Giants prepare for Sunday’s game at MetLife Stadium vs. the New Orleans Saints.Pat Shurmur earned his game ball because of his willingness to change, not just NFL etiquette | NewsdayOne of the things Pat Shurmur brought to the Giants was flexibility. He didn’t simply bring a scheme and a way of doing things, and make everyone else adapt to it. That was part of the downfall of Ben McAdoo. Shurmur, though, is different. Newsday’s Tom Rock writes:The Giants appeased Ereck Flowers until they failed him | NY PostPaul Schwartz tells us that while former first-round pick Ereck Flowers bears much of the responsibility for not living up to his draft status, the Giants also share some of the blame. In my view, he has a good point. Schwartz writes:Pat Shurmur on QB sack rule: 'Anatomically, this is getting difficult' | NewsdayThe Giants have yet to be impacted by the league’s new overzealousness to protect quarterbacks. They will be at some point, though, and Shurmur understands the difficult situation defenders are being placed in. A hard, clean tackle is seemingly no longer wanted in football — at least not when it is made on a quarterback. With Saquon Barkley, Giants’ Eli Manning has ‘better group than I ever threw with,’ says Phil Simms | NJ.comFormer Giants quarterback Phil Simms on Tuesday supported the Giants’ decision to draft Saquon Barkley and said the play-makers art Eli Manning’s disposal is better than any group he ever played with.CB Patrick Robinson of New Orleans Saints headed to injured reserve with broken ankle | ESPNWhat Eli Manning must do to beat Brees in battle of vet QBs | NY PostSaints vs. Giants Betting Preview: Why Giants Can Exploit Saints' Struggling Pass Defense | Sports Illustrated

New York Giants coach Pat Shurmur addressed the “quarterback question”

clearly and succinctly on Friday. There will not be a change at the position and Eli Manning will start when the Giants face the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football in Week 7.“No http://www.giantsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-will-hernandez-jersey ,” Shurmur said when asked if such a change could be considered. “We believe in Eli.”With the Giants at 1-5, Manning coming off a poor game and the Giants headed for yet another disappointing, playoff-less season the question about a quarterback change had to be asked. Shurmur’s answer, though, was entirely predictable. At this point, it was the only one he could give. The Giants went all in on the idea that Manning could still play and that they could win games and be successful on offense with him. The record is an awful 1-5, but there has been some good mixed in with the bad. Despite the public perception, and calls like the one I made for the Giants to move on at the end of the season, they can’t do that just yet.Heading into Thursday’s game they believed they were making progress, and had a 31-point showing against the Carolina Panthers to offer as evidence. “We lost games. I think what’s important is we keep trying to improve, we keep working, and we keep doing what we can to win the next game. I don’t know anything about expectations,” Shurmur said. “I know there’s reasons why there’s new coaches, I happen to be one of the new coaches in the league from last year http://www.giantsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-janoris-jenkins-jersey , and you’ve got to do what you can to get your locker room right, get everybody playing the right way and coaching the right way, and do it in a way where you can win games.”For now, that means Manning stays at quarterback. “We just keep going. Everybody around us is doing the math. We don’t do the math, we just keep playing,” Shurmur said.Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY SportsWhat about 2019?I wrote on Friday that “there is no point in going forward beyond this season with Manning as the quarterback.”So, what are the Giants’ options?Kyle LaulettaThe Giants really like the fourth-round pick out of Richmond. They chose to work with him rather than Davis Webb as the young backup behind Manning. The calls for Lauletta to play have already begun. For now, though, Shurmur isn’t having it.Asked Friday about moving Lauletta up to second string so he would be active on game days, Shurmur said “there’s no reason to discuss that right now” and that “we’re not talking about a quarterback change.”Make no mistake though, if this season reaches the point of no return the way 2017 did Shurmur and Dave Gettleman will not make the mistake that Ben McAdoo and Jerry Reese did. If and when the Giants are eliminated from the playoffs I fully expect that Lauletta is going to play.If and when that time comes, Lauletta will have an opportunity to show whether or not he deserves an opportunity to be the quarterback in 2019. The 2019 NFL DraftFans are already speculating about the possibility of the Giants drafting Justin Herbert of Oregon or Drew Lock of Missouri, right now the top college quarterbacks expected to be available in the draft. There is really no point in arguing about the viability of drafting any college quarterback at this point. We have no idea how the rest of the season will play out at the college or NFL level, where the Giants will be drafting http://www.giantsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-connor-barwin-jersey , who will be available, how the pre-draft process will play out. Still, get used to hearing names like Herbert, Lock, Ryan Finley and whoever else gets added to the conversation.Free agencyTeddy Bridgewater is expected to hit the market, and he has ties to Shurmur from the Minnesota Vikings. Other than that, it’s names like Tyrod Taylor, Brock Osweiler, Ryan Fitzpatrick and Trevor Siemian.Of course, there could be someone out there languishing on a team’s bench that Shurmur or Gettleman really like who could emerge as a mystery candidate. We’ll see.Eli ManningWait? What? I know you’re thinking “wasn’t this supposed to be about who would replace Manning in 2019?” Well, actually it’s about who will be the Giants’ quarterback in 2019.Fact is, despite what you, me or anyone else other than Gettleman, Shurmur and John Mara think should happen doesn’t matter. As we sit here http://www.giantsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-b.j.-goodson-jersey , it’s entirely possible they will end up deciding that Manning remains their best option for 2019.Leading up to the season, Gettleman made it clear that he still believed in Manning. At times, when he is comfortable in the pocket, we have seen that Manning can justify that faith.Manning, though, has been sacked 20 times and hasn’t been comfortable in the pocket often enough.Manning is still under contract for 2019. The Giants could save $17 million by moving on, but would still incur $6.2 million in dead money. What if, over the next 10 games, Gettleman, Shurmur and Mara decide that the offensive line is still a bigger problem than Manning and they don’t want to jettison the two-time Super Bowl winner until they take one more shot at upgrading the offensive line in front of him?Unthinkable for some. Still, however, possible.Giants look back as Victor Cruz retires from NFL Victor Cruz announced Tuesday morning that he is officially retiring from the NFL. After years of trying to come back from a devastating knee injury suffered against the Philadelphia Eagles in 2014, Cruz is finally calling it a career. Though he was never able to regain his pre-injury form and retire on his own terms, Cruz is a smart Womens Odell Beckham Jr Jersey , charismatic young man who is still incredibly well-regarded around the league. He has other skills upon which he can fall back and will be joining ESPN as a football analyst. Giants look back at Cruz’s careerPat Shurmur wasn’t with the Giants during Cruz’s career, but still took time on Tuesday to acknowledge Cruz’s accomplishments.Quarterback Eli Manning also talked about Cruz on Tuesday.RetrospectiveThe former New York Giants wide receiver first exploded on to the scene as an unknown undrafted free agent out of UMass with a spectacular three-touchdown game against the New York Jets. A hamstring injury kept Cruz off the field that season, and a shaky performance in training camp had him on the roster bubble to start the 2011 season. But with Steve Smith leaving to join the Eagles, and injuries to Domenik Hixon and Brandon Stokley forced the Giants to turn to Cruz to man the slot receiver position. It was a historic decision as Cruz’s precise route running, natural chemistry with Eli Manning, and explosive ability after the catch proved to be the spark that ignited the Giants’ passing game and powered them to the Super Bowl.Cruz’s career didn’t end the way any of us wanted it to, and I know I will always wonder what could have been had Cruz been healthy for the start of Odell Beckham Jr.’s career. However, Cruz will continue to be a beloved figure in Giants’ history, and I think I speak for every Giants’ fan when I say I wish him nothing but the best in the next chapter of his life.

San Francisco 49ers General Manager told reporters this morning he’s

upset he had to cut linebacker Reuben Foster Authentic Alfred Morris jersey , who was arrested for domestic violence at the team hotel on Saturday night.“It’s extremely disappointing for me, for Kyle, for ownership, for everybody in here,” Lynch said. “We care a lot about Reuben and I can tell you it’s a situation where we laid out some very specific ground rules for Reuben, as we do for all our players.”Lynch indicated he doesn’t know exactly what happened with Foster, calling any comments on the facts of the case “speculation.”“What transpired yesterday — this isn’t a comment on what happened there because that would be mere speculation on our part — it’s more of a comment on him not living up to what we have communicated, and to the energy and the time we’ve invested in him,” Lynch said.So why cut Foster now, rather than waiting for all the facts, as Lynch insisted was necessary when Foster was arrested in another domestic violence case involving the same woman earlier this year? Lynch said everyone in the organization has decided enough is enough.“Kyle and I talked last night, brought it to ownership, we were all lockstep in the decision. It was not easy on anybody,” Lynch said.A first-round pick last year, Foster fell to the late first round after multiple off-field incidents. Now an off-field incident has ended his tenure in San Francisco. Patrick Mahomes had just finished with a series of patients in the oncology unit at the University of Kansas Hospital when he stepped on an escalator that would carry him to the exits.Waiting for him at the bottom was a mob of hospital workers. Some wanted a quick picture. Others were content with an autograph. But most just wanted to glimpse the hottest thing in Kansas City these days, the 23-year-old quarterback with the curly Mohawk and easy smile whose record-setting performances have helped the Chiefs to a 3-0 start heading into Monday night's AFC West showdown in Denver."It was an awesome, awesome feeling," Mahomes recalled a few days later, "just to see those people and the kind of passion and love and support that they're showing us."It's a good thing Mahomes prefers takeout to restaurants Youth Mike Person jersey , and would rather study game film on his birthday than spend a night on the town, because everybody wants a piece of him these days. The Chiefs' communications staff is receiving hundreds of interview requests each week for their first-year starter, one front-office official said. They have had to limit the number Mahomes actually conducts to a handful that he can squeeze into a short time period on Wednesday afternoons. There are requests for community appearances — his event at the hospital was set up by the club's community outreach team. There are requests for sponsorships and endorsements and business deals, not to mention the hundreds of autograph requests that have flooded the team's offices. All for a quarterback with four total starts on his resume."It's pretty cool," Mahomes admits, "just to see the support we have. It's unmatched, Kansas City and the Chiefs Kingdom, the support they have for us. For me to just kind of be in the community and see those people is always a good thing."Mahomes has the right temperament to deal with the demands, though. His father, former big league baseball player Pat Mahomes, instilled in him at a young age to take success in stride. It's something that became apparent to Chiefs coach Andy Reid during the draft process."That comes with the territory. If you are going to be a quarterback and do well, you are going to get a lot of attention," Reid said. "What is real is what takes place on the field every week. He is wired the right way to handle that. He's not going to let stuff get in the way."I appreciate him going out and doing those things. Kids and people love him being out there," Reid continued. "That he is willing to do that is part of him and the person he is."That was evident this past summer, when Mahomes showed up just about everywhere in town. He threw out the first pitch at a Royals game, and wore a cutoff jersey of the local minor league team, the T-Bones, when he was part of pre-race festivities for the NASCAR race at Kansas Speedway. But what Reid appreciates more than anything is Mahomes' ability to separate his work off the field from his work on it. There might not be a player on the roster that spends more time at the practice facility than Mahomes, so much so that Reid often has to tell his young star to go home."When he's not there http://www.49ersauthorizedshops.com/authentic-adrian-colbert-jersey , he is in here," Reid said. "You don't have to tell him to be here, that's not how he rolls. He comes in and you have to get him out."Nor does Mahomes crave the spotlight. When the Chiefs rolled past the 49ers last week, and everyone was talking about the sandlot play in which Mahomes ran about 60 yards before delivering a strike to Chris Conley in the back of the end zone, the quarterback said the key to the play working out was his wide receiver getting open.Never mind that the 49ers had Mahomes corralled for what should have been a loss."He's not trying to be the hero or do all of that. That's not his deal," Reid said. "He is trying to play the position within the offense and do his thing. If things don't work out he moves around and gets it in his guys' hands as fast as he can. He has a pretty good feel for that."Reid hasn't gone out of his way to ensure Mahomes doesn't become bogged down in requests, mostly because it hasn't been necessary. Mahomes is already good at managing his time.Besides, there is little extra time for an NFL quarterback once the season starts."There's still room for a ton of improvement," Mahomes said. "There's still stuff that I might not go to the right read, or we might have a bust in the route running or everything, protection might break down. That just speaks to the guys that we have that can still make plays."As important as they are, though, it's Mahomes that everybody wants to see."It was an awesome, awesome feeling just to see those people and the kind of passion and love and support that they're showing," Mahomes said, reflecting again on his day off spent with hospital patients. "But I feel the same. I come into this locker room and these guys treat me exactly the same as they've treated me since I got here. We have a great room like that and I can just go out there and do my job and it helps to have all the guys I have around me that can make plays."

Adam Schefter thinks the 49ers’ rebuild is

49ers Adrian Colbert Jersey , “absolutely on track” The San Francisco 49ers 2018 season has fallen to nothing short of disaster and disappointment. 2017 was a rebuild that appeared accelerated with the arrival of Jimmy Garoppolo. Before everything began, many thought this was a Wild Card team. Now the 49ers are in the running for the first pick of the 2019 NFL draft. All disappointment considered, Adam Schefter still thinks the 49ers rebuild is going just as scheduled. The ESPN insider was on KNBR’s Murph and Mac and had this to say regarding the team: Schefter also later pointed out that the 49ers did their due diligence on Josh Gordon (whom he reminded Kyle Shanahan worked with while offensive coordinator with the Cleveland Browns) and also Khalil Mack (whom Schefter called the 49ers a finalist for). The entire interview is worth a listen (it’s roughly 10 minutes) and if nothing else, has a voice of reason for 49ers fans. When Jerick McKinnon tore his ACL in the final practice of training camp, it was a omen of things to come. A few weeks later Cheap Mike McGlinchey Jersey , Jimmy Garoppolo followed in the same injury and now the 49ers have an injury report longer than the classic novel War and Peace. Many were optimism for a playoff appearance, but no one could have predicted this skid of one win to their name. Some are wondering with the recent losses if John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan are doing all they can to help this team. If anyone can give an unbiased opinion of everything, it’s Schefter. The 49ers were rebuilding no matter how this season goes and as far as improving on the win total from last year, the team has just hit a fountain of bad luck. It’s been a while since we’ve had a good day as 49ers fans. In Week 9, that changed. Draft order fans might not have been super pleased with the final score Cheap Fred Warner Jersey , but it was hard not to really enjoy the 49ers thumping the Raiders. The 49ers lost Raheem Mostert to a broken arm, but other than that, everything went well for the team. Nick Mullens led the way on offense, putting together one of the greatest debuts in NFL history. Whether he builds on this or not remains to be seen, but it was a phenomenal debut. On defense 49ers Brock Coyle Jersey , the key was the pass rush. Derek Carr rarely got comfortable and the 49ers ended up with seven sacks on the day. They entered the game with 16 on the season, and everything finally seemed to click. The Raiders stink, but even still, it was a great performance. We do have to take the 49ers win with a certain grain of salt. The Raiders stink. It’s pretty clear. And yet, for one night at least http://www.49erscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-k_waun-williams-jersey , we can enjoy the 49ers putting a hurting on another team. And even more so, beating the Raiders in the final Battle of the Bay. That’s fun stuff!

So we told you to go vote for Matt Breida to be the Fedex player of the week and you didn’t vote 49ers Richard Sherman Jersey , because the San Francisco 49ers running back has won the award of cheesy sponsorships. What does he get for this? Not much. What do we get? A chance to watch his awesome touchdown run again. We’re almost a week removed from 49ers-Lions but this run still hasn’t gotten old. The 49ers were high on Breida coming out of college at Georgia Southern and for a UDFA, he has been nothing short of impressive. It’s a shame we won’t see what it would have been with him and Jerick McKinnon on the field but I’m already salivating for 2019. It remains a mystery what kind of work Breida will get when the 49ers go up against the Kansas City Chiefs. On Friday, Kyle Shanahan talked about dividing up carries and whether they want to reward Breida’s high average with more carries, or if the high average is benefited by his current workload.Breida had one fewer carries than Alfred Morris in Week 1, and three fewer in Week 2. Time of possession will be critical against the Chiefs explosive offense, so regardless of who gets more carries, it should be a busy day for both running backs.Predict the 49ers’ first offensive play Cheap Dante Pettis Jersey , tackle, and touchdown vs. Packers The San Francisco 49ers head into Week 6 of the NFL season, which means it’s prediction time once again! The 49ers came off an awful loss to the then-winless Arizona Cardinals and are now about to display their injury riddled team on Monday Night Football against the Green Bay Packers. The Packers have their own set of problems, so don’t expect either team to be showing their A-game. The predictions will include:1. The first offensive play the 49ers will run/attempt to execute,2. The first player on defense (not special teams) who will make a tackle, and3. How the team’s first touchdown will be scored (if you think one will be scored). Here are the ground rules for the predictions.Offensive Play Prediction Guidelines: Try to be as specific as you can on what you think the 49ers’ first offensive play will be. Don’t just say “pass play” or “run play”. Instead, say “Beathard throws a slant route to Gar莽on for 7 yards” or “Alfred Morris runs right side and picks up three yards.” You can also predict incompletions 49ers Alfred Morris Jersey , interceptions, fumbles, touchdowns, and even a safety if you really think that will happen on the first offensive play!Defensive Tackle Prediction Guidelines: Predicting the first defensive play is much more obscure, so this one is a simpler category -- project who you think will make the team’s first tackle that does not come on special teams or a returned interception/fumble.First Touchdown Against Green Bay: If you do not think the 49ers will score a touchdown, then say “no touchdowns” as your answer. Otherwise, predict how you think the 49ers’ first offensive touchdown will be scored http://www.49erscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-marquise-goodwin-jersey , along with the person(s) who will score. You can predict it to be on offense, defense, or special teams. If you predict a passing touchdown, name both the quarterback and the receiver. Here is the template you can copy+paste for your comments:First Offensive Play: First Defensive Tackle: First Touchdown:Here are my predictions.First Offensive Play: Handoff to Alfred Morris for a three yard pickup through the A-gap. First Defensive Tackle: Solomon Thomas of Jamaal WilliamsFirst Touchdown: Kendrick Bourne six-yard go-ahead score

No miraculous play was needed for New Orleans

to win this game in Minnesota Womens Alvin Kamara Jersey , no where-were-you moment that instantly went viral.Drew Brees and the Saints simply scored some revenge for their last-second loss in the playoffs last season by taking advantage of two key turnovers, including a 45-yard interception return for a touchdown by P.J. Williams, in a 30-20 victory over the Vikings on Sunday night."This one had a little extra special meaning," Brees said, flashing a slight smile after he went 18 for 23 to maintain his league-leading 77.4 completion percentage.Alvin Kamara scored twice, Wil Lutz made three field goals and Sheldon Rankins had two of the four sacks by the Saints (6-1), who needed only 120 passing yards by Brees to beat the Vikings (4-3-1) this time with far less tension down the final stretch and stay undefeated in four road games this year."It's everything we wanted it to be," Rankins said.Stefon Diggs had 119 receiving yards and a score in his curtain call after the "Minneapolis Miracle" catch in the NFC divisional round here in January, but he stopped his drag route in a miscommunication with quarterback Kirk Cousins right before Williams picked the ball off for the pivotal third-quarter touchdown.Adam Thielen had another record-setting performance for the Vikings with 103 yards and a score, but he lost a fumble that was returned 54 yards by Marshon Lattimore to set up the go-ahead touchdown for the Saints."We're a really good football team, but you can't make mistakes in this league and win, especially on critical situations when you have the ball in the red zone," Thielen said. "Obviously I'm going to think about that one for a while, and I'm definitely disappointed in myself."The Vikings had the edge on both sides of the ball during the first half. Harrison Smith handed Brees his first interception of the season after 231 attempts without one, putting the Vikings in position to stretch a 13-10 lead.Late in the second quarter, Thielen drove forward for extra yards after a short completion and had the ball pried loose by Williams and Alex Anzalone at the 14. Lattimore scooped it up and raced the other way Womens Josh LeRibeus Jersey , before Laquon Treadwell took him down. Treadwell then slammed his helmet on the turf in frustration, drawing a devastating 15-yard penalty to give the Saints the ball at the 18 with 57 seconds remaining before halftime. Kamara soared into the end zone two plays later."I was giving up a few plays," Williams said, "but a turnover always turns the game around."The Vikings started the second half with the ball and went for it on fourth-and-1 at their own 45. With an empty backfield, Cousins had Treadwell open over the middle, but Lattimore broke up the pass to change possession and set up Lutz's second field goal."I told the team I was going to be aggressive," coach Mike Zimmer said. "Every fourth down that was close, we were going to go for it."SIZZLING STARTThe first evening kickoff of the season at U.S. Bank Stadium created an extra-energetic atmosphere, and the pregame hype video montage with replays of the last-snap catch and run by Diggs for the winning touchdown in the playoffs against the Saints only enhanced it.Defensive end Everson Griffen, returning from a five-game absence for mental health treatment, led the sprint out of the replica Vikings ship for introductions. Diggs was saved for last. Then the action came fast and furious.Kamara capped the opening touchdown drive by catching a forward flip on a jet sweep play with both backup quarterbacks, Teddy Bridgewater and Taysom Hill, lined up as wide receivers. Hill had taken a turn at quarterback earlier and threw a 44-yard pass to Michael Thomas, his second highlight-reel reception during that drive.Thielen climbed over the neck of Williams for a tricky third-down catch on the ensuing possession for the Vikings, who kept on attacking the third-year nickel cornerback. Diggs beat him with a back-shoulder grab at the goal line and again four plays later on a toe-tap touchdown at the edge of the end zone on fourth down.Williams had a pass interference penalty on the next drive for the Vikings. That set up a short scoring run by Latavius Murray, who tossed the ball back to Cousins earlier on that possession for a 28-yard flea-flicker throw to Thielen.THIELEN ITThielen tied Calvin Johnson's all-time NFL record of eight straight 100-yard receiving games Womens Benjamin Watson Jersey , set in 2012 with Detroit. He also matched Patrick Jeffers with a fifth consecutive game with 100-plus yards and at least one touchdown, a mark set in 1999 for Carolina.INJURY REPORTSaints: CB Eli Apple, acquired in a trade with the New York Giants, made his debut in place of Ken Crawley, who was inactive but not on the injury report.Vikings: CB Xavier Rhodes (foot) was one of six starters held out with injuries. ... Backup RB Roc Thomas left with a hamstring injury.UP NEXTSaints: Return home to host the Los Angeles Rams (8-0) next Sunday.Vikings: Stay home to face the Detroit Lions (3-4) next Sunday.Saints Escape with a Lackluster 21-18 Win Over the Browns [Saints fans: Take our weekly Saints survey, 3 quick questions a week]Last week I called the New Orleans Saints a “big, gigantic fraud” after the miserable defensive effort they displayed in the season opener in a 48-40 loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This afternoon in the Mercedes Benz Superdome, the Saints had a chance to redeem themselves against an underdog as big as the Bucs in week one, the Cleveland Browns. They did none of that and they now look like quite an overrated team in this young 2018 season.1st HALFIn the first half, it was the offense’s turn to look like a shelf of itself, scoring only three points and fumbling the ball twice, one each by Michael Thomas and Ted Ginn Jr.Drew Brees was not without fault, overthrowing a wide open Benjamin Watson in the red zone, forcing the Saints tho settle for a field goal, their only points of the half. The defense on the other hand would look much better than it did last week against Tampa, holding the Browns to six points. At halftime Youth Cameron Jordan Jersey , the Saints trailed 6-3 and looked alarmingly lethargic. One could only hope that halftime adjustments would ignite the offense and lead it to a better showing in the second half.2nd HALFThe Saints received the ball to start the second half and proceeded to go scoreless in the entire third quarter. The defense finally caved in some and allowed the Browns to take a 12-3 lead into the fourth quarter. After a Cleveland missed field goal, Brees and the offense would finally take advantage of good field position to score their first touchdown of the day and narrow the lead to 12-10. And interception by Marcus Williams would breathe life into the Saints in the late stages of the fourth quarter, as Brees would subsequently find Michael Thomas for a touchdown giving the Saints a 16-12 lead, their first lead since they led 3-0 in the first quarter. The Saints would make the two-point conversion with Alvin Kamara to extend their lead to 18-12.The defense would inexplicably allow Tyrod Taylor to throw a bomb of a touchdown to Antonio Callaway with just over a minute left. The Browns would miss the extra point, allowing the Saints to be tied at 18 with about a minute and 25 seconds left. Brees and the offense would drive down the field and kick a field goal to take a 21-18 lead with 25 seconds left. The Browns would have a shot, missing a long field goal as time expired. New Orleans escapes with a 21-18 win, but it was not pretty and this is a team that has a lot of work to do if it wants to be a contender for anything this season. But a win is a win yes? We’ll take it.***Here is a timeline of the game:1st QuarterSaints win the toss and defer to the second halfSaints force the Browns into a three-and-outMichael Thomas catches a third down ball and fumbles it, Browns recoverBrowns take over near midfield into Saints territorySaints stop the Browns who settle for a 39-yard field goalNO: 0 - CLE: 3Saints get into Browns red zone but stall. The Saints used running back

Alvin Kamara a lot during Mark Ingram‘s four-game suspension to open the season and Kamara performed well as the team won three of those games.Ingram’s return for last Monday’s game against Washington was expected to cut into Kamara’s usage Color Rush Vonn Bell Jersey , but the size of the bite was bigger than many would have predicted. Ingram had 18 touches, which was twice as many as Kamara had in the 43-19 win.In a post-bye conference call on Monday morning, head coach Sean Payton said he expected more balance in the future and that the way the Saints scored changed the plans their last time out.“It just changes how the game unfolds. Alvin’s nine touches, I think is a little bit of byproduct of a 60-yard scoring strike, another 40,” Payton said, via the New Orleans Advocate. “Those change kind of the pitch count, if you will.”Having to figure out the balance between two productive backs on an offense averaging 35 points a game falls into the category of a good problem for Payton to have as the Saints get back to work this week. Panthers cornerback James Bradberry has set his sights on becoming an All-Pro cornerback this season. He will certainly have the opportunity to prove he belongs in that category. The Panthers third-year cover man will face the some of the league's best wide receivers in the coming weeks, beginning with Atlanta's Julio Jones on Sunday.Bradberry, who regularly draws the opposition's best wide receiver, will also match up with Cincinnati's A.J. Green Marshon Lattimore Jersey , New York Giants' Odell Beckham Jr. and Pittsburgh's Antonio Brown in the next eight games. He'll face Jones, Tampa Bay's Mike Evans and New Orleans' Michael Thomas twice this season playing in the NFC South.Bradberry sees this season as a chance to show the rest of the league he's an elite cornerback and solidify his long-term future with the Panthers. He isn't shying away from the challenge."That is what I find fun in this game is going against the best," Bradberry said."This year is going to be a special year for him," said Panthers veteran nickel back Captain Munnerlyn. "He definitely can make a name for himself."Bradberry has come a long way since being a part of the secondary that allowed Jones to compile 300 yards on 12 receptions in a 48-33 loss at Atlanta four games into his rookie season in 2016. Bradberry started the game covering Jones but left in the first quarter with a turf toe. He returned briefly in the second half and struggled to keep up.He said the game has stuck in his memory ever since, and still remembers the crowing chanting Jones' name in the fourth quarter. He said the embarrassment of the game still serves as motivation for him."I knew we couldn't let that happen again," Bradberry said. "It was a disappointment to our fans and coaching staff. I didn't want to see that reaction on their faces again."Panthers coach Ron Rivera said Bradberry is a different player than he was back then — smarter, more experienced, smarter, and better prepared.Unlike other cornerbacks the Panthers have had — Josh Norman and this year's rookie Donte Jackson, for example — Bradberry generally doesn't say much on the field.Rivera said there is a "quiet confidence" about him."The neat thing about James is he's very steady," Rivera said. "You don't see a lot of change in him. He works hard and he's learned how to work. He understands what it takes in terms of studying and preparation and he talks more."Bradberry had better be ready.Jones' play hasn't dropped off since that game.He remains focal point of Atlanta's passing game. Quarterback Matt Ryan targeted Jones 19 times in the season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles and he caught 10 passes for 169 yards. So Bradberry is expected a busy Sunday afternoon.Jones had 11 catches for 198 yards in two games against Carolina last year."You have to take your level of competitiveness and ability to another level when you are facing guys like that Authentic Wil Lutz Jersey ," Bradberry said of Jones.Bradberry called Jones a great athlete and the toughest receiver he's faced in his first two NFL seasons, but qualified it by saying he hasn't played against Brown."It's going to be a great matchup," Bradberry said.Bradberry only allowed opposing receivers to catch 55.9 percent of the passes thrown his way last season, according to Pro Football Focus. And while he is Carolina's unquestioned No. 1 cornerback, he knows that in order to gain some national recognition he needs to find a way to get more interceptions. He has only four in his first two seasons."That's how you get the voter's attention, that's how you get your opponent's attention is by getting interceptions, causing interceptions and getting the ball back to the offense," Bradberry said. "That's the name of the game on defense."
