How all 12 teams are about to change

Things change quickly in the NFL. It can be only a matter of weeks between a player starring in the postseason and unexpectedly hitting the market as a free agent. This time last year, Chris Long and LeGarrette Blount were Patriots. Nobody figured James Harrison would ever leave the Steelers. Nick Foles was a backup for the Chiefs. Here we are.

So as we head toward this year's Super Bowl, it's important to remember that they and dozens of other players who suited up for teams in last season's playoffs have changed squads. Likewise, there are plenty of guys who played meaningful roles for teams in this year's postseason who will be wearing new colors during the 2018 season. Others will be done with football altogether.
With that turnover in mind, let's look ahead at this season's playoff teams and project who might not be back for another go-round in 2018. The players in question are either free-agents-to-be, plausible cap casualties, or veterans likely to be considering retirement.
For the second offseason in a row, the Falcons http://www.officialphiladelphiaflyers.com/Adidas-Travis-Konecny-Jersey should find themselves in relatively stable shape. In total, 18 of Atlanta's 22 starters from last year's Super Bowl remained on the roster this season, and the Falcons should bring back the vast majority of their regulars for another run toward the top of the NFC South in 2018.
Most of the upheaval should come on the defensive line. Nose tackle Dontari Poe is a free agent after joining the team on a one-year, $7 million deal. Interior defenders only Womens Damarious Randall Jersey get serious money if they can rush the quarterback, and Poe hasn't been the same player since undergoing back surgery. He had 10.5 sacks total in back-to-back Pro Bowl seasons in 2013 and 2014 and has just five sacks across the three subsequent campaigns. He's likely looking at another one-year deal on the free-agent market.
Adrian Clayborn has been more productive for the Falcons and hits the market with a career-high 9.5 sacks in 2017, but six of them came in one game against the Cowboys. With Atlanta moving Vic Beasley back onto the line of scrimmage as a defensive end on early downs, the Falcons likely will let Clayborn leave and replace him with 2017 first-round pick Takkarist McKinley at right defensive end.
Outside of that, you're looking at Matt Bryant (who will be kicking long after all of us have retired) and receiver Taylor Gabriel, who saw his big-play ability regress toward the mean in 2017 and might re-sign with the Falcons on a Marquise Goodwin-sized (two-year, $6 million) deal. There are no obvious cap casualties looming on the Falcons' roster outside of defensive Denny McLain Authentic Jersey linemen Brooks Reed and Derrick Shelby, who each started 14 games but failed to play even 40 percent of Atlanta's defensive snaps. Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff could save $3.3 million by releasing Shelby and $3.6 million by moving on from Reed.
It seems safe to assume the Bills could release Tyrod Taylor after benching the quarterback midseason and struggling to score points for most of the season. Cutting him would free up $15 million in cap space, pushing the Bills to more than $40 million in cap room before making any other moves. There likely won't be a huge trade market for Taylor at his current salary, although Buffalo was eventually able to find a trade partner for defensive tackle Marcell Dareus and his contract.
Dareus was one of several disastrous contracts handed out by former general manager Doug Whaley. Another was the deal handed to left tackle Cordy Glenn, who missed time with foot and ankle injuries in 2017 and might have lost his job to second-round pick Dion Dawkins in the process. Glenn's $14.5 million cap hit is the third largest due to any tackle in 2018, and the Bills might very well look to open up a spot for Dawkins by putting Glenn on the market. The 28-year-old has three years and $30 million left on his contract, and it wouldn't be crazy for a team with cap http://www.officialflamesauthentic.com/Sean_Monahan_Jersey space and a need for a left tackle (Houston?) to throw a fifth-round pick Buffalo's way. A trade would open up $3.3 million on Buffalo's cap this year.
The Bills have no other cap casualties, although they do have several pressing free-agent decisions. General manager Brandon Beane traded for both cornerback E.J. Gaines and receiver Jordan Matthews, but injuries cost the two a combined 11 games. Gaines was the more impressive of the two, and with fellow cornerbacks Leonard Johnson and Shareece Wright also hitting free agency, it seems likely the Bills will make a run at Gaines as part of a duo alongside Tre'Davious White. Matthews is in line for a one-year deal somewhere, and he'll probably choose a destination with a more settled quarterback situation than the one in Buffalo.
The heart of Buffalo's defense is also on the market. Stalwart defensive tackle Kyle Williams finally got to experience postseason football after more than a decade in a Bills uniform, and while Williams can certainly still play, the 34-year-old probably will be the one who gets to decide whether he wants to continue playing and where. The Louisiana native could theoretically head to New Orleans to try to chase a title, but it's difficult to imagine Williams leaving Western New York. If he wants to continue his career, it will likely be with the Bills on a short-term deal. Middle linebacker Preston Brown is also a free agent after leading the NFL in tackles, and given the consistently cold market for interior linebackers, Brown should eventually find his way back to Buffalo. nike nfl jerseys supply jerseys from china nike nfl jerseys size chart wholesale jerseys china

test in new competition

Gareth Southgate has welcomed Jack Wilshere’s return to form and fitness at Arsenal and offered the midfielder hope of regaining a place in the national side before the World Cup.

Wilshere, whose progress over recent seasons has been blighted by a series of ankle injuries, spent last season on loan at Bournemouth but, having entered the final year of his contract, he has established himself as a regular at Arsenal since the start of last month. His impressive form http://www.officiallakersshoponline.com/Brandon_Ingram_Jersey has been noted by Southgate and will earn the 26-year-old a new long-term deal at the Emirates Stadium, with talks continuing over an extension.
“It’s a real plus to see him playing as well as he is and playing regularly,” said Southgate, who http://www.authenticblackhawksite.com/-81-marian-hossa-jersey_c-517.html saw England selected in a three-team group with Spain and Croatia in Wednesday’s Uefa Nations League draw in Lausanne.
“He is a player whose quality nobody has ever questioned. He had a really bad injury that he had to get over at Bournemouth last year. It’s no surprise that took some time but he looks sharp and looks fit and is playing regularly, midweek games as well. That’s great because we want our Authentic Lee Roy Selmon Jersey best players to be available and in good form.”
Wilshere, whose 34th and most recent cap was gained in the ignominious exit from Euro 2016 against Iceland, will face stiff competition to regain a place in England’s midfield but will hope a prolonged spell in the Arsenal side pushes his credentials.
England face “high-quality” fixtures, according to Southgate, against Spain and Croatia in the autumn having been drawn in Group Four of League A as Uefa starts its Nations League, which will feature promotion and relegation and will replace the majority of friendlies.
Wales, under the stewardship of Ryan Giggs, will face the Republic of Ireland and Denmark in Group Four of League B. Northern Ireland, whose manager, Michael O’Neill, has agreed a new contract to 2024, will play Austria and Bosnia-Herzegovina in Group Three of League B. Scotland, whose pursuit of a successor to Gordon Strachan continues, will play in League C in a group with Albania and Israel.
Uefa’s new competition is designed to allow teams to play against those similarly ranked and will offer some nations who fail to qualify for Euro 2020 via the normal route a path into the play-offs.
“The whole concept of this tournament is that you play high-quality and competitive matches, so that criterion is fulfilled with the group we’re in,” Southgate said. “We haven’t played Croatia for a little while so we’re looking forward to that and, of course, Spain, one of the best teams in the world.
“It’s good to test ourselves in these games and we like the concept of fewer friendlies and the concept of games against high-level teams. I think that’s really important. We saw in November in matches against Brazil and Germany, the enthusiasm of the players, the supporters and everybody was a different level and Joaquin Benoit Youth jersey that’s what we have to recreate to make international football meaningful.” wholesale nfl jerseys nike cheap jerseys wholesale nike nfl jerseys china nfl jerseys nike

Marin Cilic beats Kyle Edmund

Marin Cilic beats Kyle Edmund
If you keep knocking on the door long enough, sooner or later, it’s going to swing open. Dmitry Kulikov Authentic Jersey It’s a mantra that Simona Halep and Caroline Wozniacki have hung on to for a long time and on Saturday, at the Australian Open, one of them will become a grand slam champion for the first time.

The nerves were frazzled again in the semi-finals on Thursday, Wozniacki surviving a second-set stumble to beat the unseeded Belgian, Elise Mertens, 6-3, 7-6 (2). Top seed Halep edged out the former champion, Angelique Kerber, 6-3, 4-6, 9-7 in a match that had everything, match points saved on both sides, incredible Earl Watford Youth jersey athleticism and shot-making and stunning defence.

The symmetry is uncanny. Both women http://www.officialjaguarsfootballshop.com/YOUTH+BARRY+CHURCH+JERSEY have saved match points on their way to their third grand slam final, both have been world No 1 without winning a grand slam title and both have been labelled with the tag of the best player never to win one of the sport’s four biggest crowns. On Saturday http://www.authenticredwingstore.com/-1-terry-sawchuk-jersey_c-512.html night, all that will change and what’s more, the winner will also leave Melbourne with the world No 1 ranking.
For No 2 seed Wozniacki, a third grand slam final is testament to the never-say-die attitude that took her to the world No 1 ranking Authentic Harry Giles Jersey at the end of 2011 and 2012. Having come from 5-1 down and 40-15 down in the final set of her second-round match against the Croatian, Jana Fett, Wozniacki has been rock solid ever since and even though she stuttered towards the end of her semi-final yesterday, she deserved her victory. Runner-up at the US Open in 2009 and 2014, she has battled back from as low as No 74 in the rankings in August, 2016 to the verge of glory and a remarkable return to No 1. She has won four of her previous meetings with Halep and now she has the chance for redemption.
“I’m just going to go out there and have fun, enjoy the moment,” Wozniacki said. “It’s been a great two weeks. I’m really happy to be [here]. I could have been home already. But now I’m here and I fought my way all the way to the finals. I’m just really proud of that and really excited. A new opportunity on Saturday, and I am going to do my best to try and win it.”
For Halep, it is a golden chance to shake off the lingering disappointment of her near-miss at last year’s French Open, when she led Jelena Ostapenko 4-1 in the final set of the final only to blink as Manu Ginobili Youth jersey the lights of the finishing line approached. It was a loss that hurt http://www.rangersteamonline.com/Tanner_Glass_Jersey badly, more so than her 2014 defeat in Paris to Maria Sharapova. But she recovered to end last year as the world No 1 and after a roller-coaster of a semi-final, she too has the opportunity to right a wrong. discount jerseys new nike nfl jerseys mlb jerseys wholesale jerseys for cheap baseball jerseys for sale baseball jerseys custom nhl jerseys cheap

Patrick Kane has participated in the NHL All-Star

Game Skills Competition six times in his career. He has taken part in events that looked like practice drills, in which his remarkable stick-handling abilities were on display, and he has taken part in events in which he has worn Clark Kent glasses and a Superman cape before scoring a goal on his stomach.

"When I was a kid, I loved watching the skills competition. Loved watching all the events that we do," he told ESPN. "I almost wish they'd go to the old-school stuff a little bit. Like the puck relay, where you skate through all the cones, which is now part of the big relay. I think it's fun and showed off more of the skill."
The thing is, fans remember the goofy prop comedy event more than they do many of the other skills competitions. But Bill Mazeroski Authentic Jersey the players themselves aren't keen on anything that might portray them in a goofy light and force their personalities to the forefront, after years of having them stomped down by hockey culture. Hence, things such http://www.officialbuccaneersnflstore.com/YOUTH+CLINTON+MCDONALD+JERSEY as the Superman cape shootout and the All-Star Fantasy Draft were eliminated due to NHLPA gripes.
But what if the players were willing to gulp a little pride and have fun with the skills competition? We'd argue that the NHL would rope in a few more casual fans who otherwise aren't making time on a Saturday night for that passing event with the godforsaken mini-nets that no one ever hits.
Here are 10 events we'd like to see in the NHL All-Star Game Skills Competition, to multiply the fun factor:An 'American Gladiator'-style obstacle courseThe NHL currently has a Puck Control Relay, which, as Kane mentioned, features players skating a puck through other pucks and then a puck through cones http://www.knicksstoreonline.com/Charles_Oakley_Jersey and then, new this year, a puck through a gate that lights up. It's fun and all.
More fun? Seeing the NHL's best puck handlers attempt to accomplish any of this while being pummeled by those giant jousting Q-tips from "American Gladiators," wielded by opposing teams' all-stars. Hey, this is exactly how it used to be in the slot every night before the slashing crackdown.
You know who doesn't get to have fun at the NHL All-Star Skills Competition? Goalies. Sure, there's a new event this year called Save Streak, in which goalies win by making the most consecutive saves, but for the most part, they're Pavel Zacha Jersey human props for goal scorers.
(By the way, the rules of that new event allow for it to continue in perpetuity if the goalie keeps making saves. So get ready for these professional deprivers of joy to make 40 saves apiece and extend the skills competition into the early morning.)
The big switch offers a way for goalies to have fun by ... not being goalies. Let's take two goalies and two skaters from each team. The skaters strap on goalie gear. The goalies Womens Myles Turner Jersey take off their gear and become skaters. Then we have a mixed up shootout. The goalies can exhibit their surprising offensive flourish, like a pitcher in the Home Run Derby. The skaters can show us how incredibly hard it is to play goalie. Mic up everyone, and have a grand old time. Who wouldn't want to see Marc-Andre Fleury taking shootout attempts against goalie Sidney Crosby?
Here's how I'd run the event, in two parts. First, you have players stacking pucks as quickly as possible, and their creations will be judged on artistic merit by an expert. Maybe the NHL doesn't exactly have a budget for these things, but what do you think Frank Gehry's appearance fee is? hen you'd have a second component, which is a relay race in which players stack pucks on the blade of their stick and then have to skate the stack over to a bucket or some such. One point for each puck. If you want to include high-powered Super Soakers that attempt to knock the pucks off their sticks, we'd have no qualms about it.
One idea that has been kicked around the NHL offices is bringing in the best of the best in certain skills competitions to face that year's All-Stars. Have Zdeno Chara or Shea Weber as the King of the Hardest Shot or have Michael Grabner in Fastest Skater. It would get away from the divisional team showdown, but it would make the events more meaningful, as competitors battle the best of the best. Why stop there? How about importing some legendary players from the past to take part in the skills competitions they thrived in? Al MacInnis in hardest shot or Peter Forsberg in the stick handling drill or Martin Brodeur on the save streak thing? Let chants of "You've still got it!" ring though the arena.
But why stop there?! We've long argued about the inclusion of players from other leagues in the skills competition, making it less a celebration of the NHL than a celebration of hockey skills. Get Hilary Knight and Marie-Philip Poulin involved in the skills competitions, and have Noora Räty stoning shooters in the shootout challenge. Give Casey Mittelstadt a teaser trailer in the shot accuracy competition before he becomes a star with the Buffalo Sabres. baseball jerseys custom cheap jerseys nike nfl jerseys from china jerseys wholesale cheap nfl jerseys from china

Winner: Concession stands on induction day

With Chipper Jones (97.2 percent), Vladimir Guerrero (92.9), Jim Thome (89.8) and Trevor Hoffman (79.9) joining Jack Morris and Alan Trammell, elected in December by the Modern Era committee, we’ll have six living players giving speeches on July 29. In electing four new members, the BBWAA matched its generosity from 2015, when Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez, John Smoltz and Craig Biggio were elected. The BBWAA has now elected 13 players over the past four years, matching the most ever over a four-year period. Throw in three players elected in 2014 and that’s 16 in five years.

This is a good thing. Compared to other eras, the 1980s and 1990s had been vastly underrepresented. When the BBWAA threw a shutout in 2013 -- the induction ceremony that http://www.saintsofficialonlineshop.com/SUPER-BOWL-CAMERON-JORDAN-JERSEY summer featured an umpire who had been dead since 1935, an owner who helped keep the color barrier intact, and a catcher who caught barehanded -- there were concerns voters were going to dismiss an entire era of baseball. Even with four new inductees, there’s still a logjam of viable Hall of Fame candidates. The BBWAA remains tough and disciplined in its voting and Cooperstown Richie Ashburn Youth jersey is still the most difficult Hall of Fame to gain entrance.

One major disagreement about Hall of Fame qualifications is the http://www.authenticsharksjerseys.com/Authentic-Joe-Pavelski-Jersey argument that some players Bryant Reeves Authentic Jersey “just feel like Hall of Famers,” while others don’t, regardless of whatever the numbers or advanced metrics may suggest. Jones is that rare player who qualifies as an inner-circle immortal, the definition of what people think of when they think “Hall of Famer,” which explains his high percentage. He’s one of the five or six best third basemen of all time, combining both peak value and longevity while anchoring the offense for 12 playoff teams. He becomes the sixth member of the Atlanta Braves dynasty of the 1990s and early 2000s to reach the Hall of Fame, joining Greg Maddux, John Smoltz and Tom Glavine, plus manager Bobby Cox and GM John Schuerholz.
When you dig into Guerrero’s numbers, you learn his qualifications weren’t a slam dunk -- he had a relatively short peak of dominance and his career WAR of 59.3 isn’t great for an outfielder -- but he’s one of the guys who felt like a Hall of Famer when active and his career counting numbers (449 home runs, 1496 RBIs, along with a .318 average) ended up good enough to get him elected on his second ballot.
Hoffman pitched forever and is second in career saves to Mariano Rivera, and voters have always favored longevity. He fell five votes short last year, but he http://www.cardinalsofficialonlinestore.com/Troy_Niklas_Jersey cleared with comfort this year. San Diego Padres fans will be playing some “Hell’s Bells” in celebration.
While I wasn’t surprised Thome got elected on the first ballot, I was surprised his vote total was so high. Scottie Upshall Jersey At the outset of the voting, I figured he’d just squeeze in, especially considering Guerrero didn’t get in last year on his first try. I applaud the voters for recognizing Thome’s value (72.9 WAR) http://www.authenticyankeesshop.com/authentic-12-chase-headley-jersey.html beyond just the 612 home runs. Here’s something I learned that is kind of fascinating, however: Thome won just one Silver Slugger Award in his career. I went through year by year and he probably should have won another just once (Jason Giambi won in 2002 even though Thome had the higher OBP, higher slugging and more home runs), and arguably should have won at third base in 1995 and first base in 1997.
A disappointing result for Martinez, who was polling as high as 81 percent in Ryan Thibodaux’s Hall of Fame Tracker a week ago. He plummeted in the final tally, however, dropping to 70.4 percent after the non-public ballots were added, 19 votes short of election.
The good news is Martinez has seen his percentage increase from 27 percent in 2015 to 43.4 percent to 58.6 percent to that 70.4 percent and still has one year left on the ballot. He needed another big boost this year and got it. His case is similar to Tim Raines, who reached 69.8 percent on his ninth ballot and sailed to election on his final ballot. In fact, look at all the recent close calls over the past decade. Everyone with at least 69 percent of the vote made it the next year.
This was the sixth year on the ballot for Bonds and Clemens, and that time has allowed a little more perspective on how to view their candidacies. They received a significant boost a couple of years ago when the Hall of Fame purged the number of voters, and I think they’ve been helped by the election of suspected performance-enhancing drug users as well as the commissioner who presided over this era. The totals were 57.3 percent for Clemens and 56.4 for Bonds, but that’s only a couple of percentage points increase from last year. While they continue to fare well among new voters, established voters are more entrenched in their anti-steroid view, and with only four years left on the ballot, I’m not sure they have the momentum to get to 75 percent.
Schilling appeared on the ballot a year before Mussina (they’ve been on six and five years now) and in my book are very strong candidates with similar career value -- Schilling had the higher peak (plus his great postseason record), while Mussina retired with 270 wins and a very strong career. Schilling was ahead of Mussina until 2016 -- he had 52 percent that year to 43 percent for Mussina -- but Mussina pulled ahead last year and remained well ahead this year, 63.5 percent to 51.2. It appears Schilling’s controversial political comments have perhaps hurt him. Mussina is trending upward while Schilling has stagnated, and Authentic Lucas Duda Jersey the conclusion has to be that his political views have hurt him at the ballot box. wholesale nfl jerseys nike cheap jerseys wholesale nfl jerseys nike cheap nfl jerseys china nfl jerseys free shipping cheap jerseys elite wholesale nfl jerseys free shipping nike nfl jerseys cheap

Due diligence on Phil Neville

The Football Association, as we know, is keen to learn from its mistakes. One of the major criticisms during the Mark Sampson farrago was that it did not undertake due diligence before hiring. You cannot accuse the governing body of such a lack of curiosity this time.

A thorough reconnaissance mission was undertaken before appointing Phil Neville as Sampson’s successor, apparently extending to scrolling several years back through his tweets. A series of ill-judged attempts at humour emerge. During one exchange with his sister, Tracey, Neville remarks: “u women of always wanted equality until it comes to paying the bills #hypocrites.” Another time he suggests women should be busy in the kitchen and getting the kids ready in the morning. In 2011 Neville tweets: “Relax I’m back chilled – just battered the wife!!! Feel better now!”

Senior FA executives were aware of some, but apparently not all, of his tweets. They decided he was the best person to lead the women’s national team anyway. An original shortlist of candidates, male Greg Mancz Womens Jersey and female, many of whom had proven experience in the women’s game, had been decimated. Laura Harvey, a former Arsenal Ladies manager, opted to take a job with Utah Royals, while John Herdman, an Englishman managing the Canada women’s team, was appointed coach of their men’s side. Mo Marley, who had taken interim charge after Sampson’s demise, removed herself from the running.
Perhaps the FA should have asked how and why a job leading the third-best team in the world ,with youth teams endowed with talent and offering a £120,000-a-year salary became so unattractive. It opted for a man whose only experience of management is in backroom roles at Manchester United during David Moyes’s disastrous reign and at Valencia under his brother, Gary. Also caretaker manager at Salford for one http://www.dolphinsshopnflonline.com/Jermon-Bushrod-Jersey game, he was apparently suggested to the FA lightheartedly by a broadcaster during Christmas drinks.
Once the FA had http://www.officialbluejaystore.com/authentic-17-ryan-goins-jersey.html its man, a sensible move might have Womens Emmanuel Lamur Jersey been to come clean about the tweets and explain that it did not believe they reflect Neville’s views or impair his ability to do the job. Instead it was left to charities and pressure groups to react. When Women’s Aid feels compelled to make a statement 24 hours after the appointment of your national manager something has usually gone amiss.
For all those dismissing Neville’s tweets as harmless banter, the country’s leading domestic violence charity has a different – almost certainly better informed – take. Sian Hawkins, campaigns and public affairs manager at Women’s Aid, said: “This ‘banter’, when left unchallenged, can reaffirm outdated but still worryingly prevalent attitudes of men’s superiority over women. At the sharp end of that is domestic abuse. With an average of two women a week being killed by their partner or ex-partner in England and Wales, this isn’t http://www.authentictexasrangersshop.com/Joey-Gallo-Jersey just unfunny, it is extremely dangerous.”
By most, if not all, accounts Neville is not a sexist. He is hugely supportive of the careers of his sister, a former netball player and now England‘s national netball coach, and his wife Julie, a health food author. Former players and prominent figures within the game were privately saying on Wednesday they have nothing against him and can forgive a series of tweets sent years ago and for which he has apologised. Many wish Authentic New York Rangers Jersey him well in a role in which he could yet succeed.
But for the FA his appointment has been another unmitigated disaster. After the controversy around Sampson, sacked after the detail Derek Newton Womens Jersey of “inappropriate and unacceptable” behaviour (understood to involve relationships with female players) in a previous role became known, it must have been desperate to avoid further damaging public debate. But once again it is unlikely to go away any time soon. cheap nfl jerseys usa baseball jerseys for sale cheap jerseys 90 hockey jerseys nba jerseys wholesale wholesale jerseys usa cheap nfl jerseys nike

Top under-the-radar 'prospects' for Super Bowl LII

Every Super Bowl, players come out of nowhere to become difference-makers. Football is a game of attrition, and that attrition means we're always just one snap away from someone new becoming a focal part of a game plan. Chris Matthews caught four balls for 109 yards and a touchdown in Super Bowl XLIX. Malcolm Butler sealed that game with a pick at the goal line. Last year, one of the players we looked at in this column ahead of Super Bowl LI, Falcons tight end Austin Hooper, caught a touchdown in the midst of what looked like a rout for the Falcons.

We wanted to look at under-the-radar prospects whom we consider most likely to make a big play in Super Bowl LII for the Patriots or Eagles. Remember that the Football Outsiders definition of a prospect is as follows:
It's worth noting that both of our favorite Patriots prospects by this measure will miss this game. Tackle Antonio Garcia looks like someone who could crack the starting lineup early, and end Derek Rivers had the profile of an early starter for the Pats; both missed the season with injuries. Teammate Deatrich Wise would also be on this list, except for the fact that he went 50 snaps over our snaps threshold.
In recent years, teams that improved dramatically in 12 months usually stumbled immediately thereafter, the hope for sustainable success quickly tempered by the realities of a parity-driven league. From the start of 1990 to the end of 2016, 23 NFL teams increased their win total by seven or more games from the previous season. The following year, however, those 23 teams averaged 3.8 more losses, according to numbers compiled by ESPN's Bill Barnwell.
The Los Angeles Rams (11-5) and the Jacksonville Jaguars (10-6) each made seven-win improvements in 2017, and perhaps history can teach them something. Eleven of the 23 teams that previously experienced similar seven-plus-win improvements saw that win total decrease by four or more the following season. One of those teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2003 to 2005, went from 6-10 to 15-1 to 11-5. But they won the Super Bowl in the Craig Anderson Authentic Jersey final year of that stretch.
These other 10, however, were ripe for evaluation: 1990-92 Denver Broncos (5-11 to 12-4 to 8-8), 1991-93 Indianapolis Colts (1-15 to 9-7 to 4-12), 1997-99 Atlanta Falcons (7-9 to 14-2 to 5-11), 2000-02 Chicago Bears (5-11 to 13-3 to 4-12), 2005-07 Baltimore Ravens (6-10 to 13-3 to 5-11), 2007-09 Miami Dolphins (1-15 to 11-5 to 7-9), 2009-11 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-13 to 10-6 to 4-12), 2011-13 Minnesota Vikings http://www.officialmarlinstore.com/Martin_Prado_Jersey (3-13 to 10-6 to 5-10-1), 2014-16 Carolina Panthers (7-8-1 to 15-1 to 6-10) and the 2015-17 Dallas Cowboys (4-12 to 13-3 to 9-7).
We identified the seven most common traits that caused those teams to slip immediately after their rise, listing them in descending order. Opponents certainly played a role, because a lot of these Zack Cozart Jersey teams suddenly went from last-place schedules to first-place schedules. But this post identified reasons outside of that.
7. Peripherals: Football Outsiders at one point considered the 1992 Colts quite possibly the luckiest team ever. They finished 9-7 one season after going 1-15, but they were outscored 302-216 in the process. They sat 4-7, then won their last five games by an average of four points. Their Pythagorean wins that year: 5.0. It's no wonder they fell back down to Earth, to 4-12, the following season. Another team that sticks out here is that 2002 Bears squad that went from 5-11 to 13-3. They had six come-from-behind wins in the 2002 season, and two of them -- in back-to-back weeks -- were the result of Mike Brown interception returns for touchdowns in overtime. The Panthers went from 7-8-1 in 2014 to 15-1 in 2015 largely because they went 6-0 in games decided by one score. They went 2-6 in games decided by one score in 2016, and they fell to 6-10.
6. Intangibles: Sometimes teams are plagued by http://www.officialnewyorkislanders.com/Adidas-Nikolay-Kulemin-Jersey circumstances that numbers do not measure. Take the early 1990s Broncos, who began the decade by going from 5-11 to 12-4. They entered the 1992 season with great promise, but the rift between coach Dan Reeves and franchise quarterback John Elway continued to grow. Reeves fired one of Elway's biggest confidants at the time, Mike Shanahan,
then drafted a quarterback, Tommy Maddox, rather than address a desperate need at wide receiver. The result? The 1992 Broncos fell to 8-8. The 2002 Bears played at a temporary facility while Soldier Field was being repaired, and that might have helped cause their slip. The Buccaneers went from 3-13 in 2009 to 10-6 in 2010. But they sported the NFL's youngest roster, and they dropped right back to 4-12 in 2011. Some would say the 1999 Falcons and the 2016 Panthers suffered that proverbial Super Bowl hangover.

will it be successful

When Uefa first began seriously discussing the prospect of a brand new international competition, back in 2011, their intentions were honourable enough. The lustre of national team football had faded steadily over the previous decade, largely due to the club game’s suffocating spread but also to the contemporary nature of the beast.

Friendly matches, seen by managers as valuable testing grounds but by the Jussi Jokinen Youth jersey public and – in some cases – players as halfhearted trudges, had become little more than ballast in the calendar; qualifying for major tournaments had, for the leading lights, generally become a procession. If the latter owed partly to the geopolitical changes within Europe since 1989 and a slew of successor states whose football infrastructure lagged behind the rest, it merely emphasised that a little agility was long overdue.
The fruits of that shapeshifting will be displayed on Wednesday when, in front of a suitably curious assembly in Lausanne, the inaugural Uefa Nations League draw takes place. It has, to a large extent, flown under the radar so far but from September onwards it will be stitched into the sport’s fabric and replace the majority of friendly games. Uefa’s four-tier brainchild will rattle through six international dates by the end of November, completing a group stage that funnels into a four-team finals competition the following June.
So far, so uncomplicated. There is, certainly for those who still hold international football in high esteem, an innate pleasure in the idea of countries competing in league form, effectively working their way up or down from Leagues A to D in a relatable format. A summer mini-tournament between, say, Germany, Belgium, France and Spain to decide the overall champion has appeal; there is also an element of interest in seeing just where the dust settles for aspirational smaller countries, who will play competitive matches against teams of similar weight. For Kosovo, Moldova, Kazakhstan and Liechtenstein it offers scope to hone a winning mentality where none previously existed.
Yet, even allowing for the fact that any tournament looks infinitely more appealing when there are fixtures to discuss, the lack of buzz has been glaring. If Uefa were looking to create a crowdpleaser, an event that had the dual benefits of helping football development while catching the wider imagination, the fear is that things have moved on at such a rate – even in the last seven years – that the Nations League resembles a dead weight. The clubs’ hold over most casual fans is almost total, in large part due to the unstinting efforts of news outlets, financial backers and social media accounts to make it so. Anything new needs to grab the modern attention span: while other sports – cricket an obvious example – tinker with tweaked formats to do exactly that, the convoluted nature of Uefa’s offering looks decidedly out of step.
A competition that will initially be contested across 16 groups – four in most http://www.texansofficialauthentic.com/TEXANS-GREG-MANCZ-JERSEY leagues, their sizes flitting between four and a patently unfair set of threes – already seems plenty to stay across but the most disappointing element reveals itself at the very end. In March 2020, nine months after the first Womens Tedric Thompson Jersey Nations League has finished, the top four ranked teams in each league that have not already qualified for that summer’s European Championship – via that tournament’s own qualifying series – will be offered http://www.officialsramsprostore.com/Josh_Reynolds_Jersey_Cheap another bite of the cherry. They will enter a play-off round between themselves, with one spot guaranteed for each league.
This means that, unless Latvia are the eventual beneficiaries from League D, there will be at least one debutant at Euro 2020. But the concept could hardly be more http://www.officialcowboysfootballauthentic.com/COWBOYS-ROGER-STAUBACH-JERSEY absurd, particularly when Authentic Miles Plumlee Jersey Uefa have already given ample hope to potential first-timers by expanding their flagship competition to 24 teams. It smacks of an inducement to push their new event through, in the process lessening their own brainchild’s credibility and confirming its Europa League-ification. Scotland were among the occasional European Championship qualifiers to back the idea of a consolation place during early discussions about the Nations League, seeing it as a more compelling plus point than the near-abolition of friendlies and, unsurprisingly, they were far from alone. Perhaps Uefa deemed it a measure that would lasso its disparate members into the new format; soon enough the audience figures will show whether it was worth the added head-scratching.

SEATTLE -- Friday night is hockey night in Kent

Washington, an industrial town located 19 miles south of Seattle. It's Pub Night at the ShoWare Center -- where fans can snag 10 tickets, 10 beers and 10 hats for $220 -- but most people at the Seattle Thunderbirds' WHL game against Kelowna are here for the promise of seeing the next big thing.

The Thunderbirds have a good track record. Last year center Mathew Barzal was skating circles around opponents here; now he's a leading Calder Trophy candidate for the New York Islanders. At least two fans at the ShoWare Center are sporting Barzal's No. 13 Islanders jersey. In fact, the concourse is littered with jerseys of other WHL alumni -- Ken Daneyko, Tyler Johnson, Shea Theodore, Brooks Laich, Duncan Keith -- plus a smattering of random allegiances: Nathan MacKinnon, Kris Letang, Jack Eichel.
"One day," says Chris Simmons, a consultant and Seattle resident who is at the game with his two sons. "We'll have our own pro guys to be proud of, and we'll represent. That's the hope, at least."
That hope finally feels tangible. At December's NHL Board of Governors meetings, commissioner Gary Bettman authorized an ownership group to conduct a season-ticket drive in Seattle, invited the city to apply for expansion and set the fee at $650 million. It was a stunning development, if only for its expediency. (Three years earlier, at a previous Board of Governors meeting, Bettman only invited Las Vegas to run a season-ticket drive; the other steps came later.) Sources say Seattle's ticket drive will begin in February. The goal is for a new franchise to begin play in 2020-21.
But you can forgive a fan like Simmons for exercising caution. Despite Seattle's rich hockey history -- the Pacific Coast Hockey Association's Seattle Metropolitans were the first U.S. team to win the Stanley Cup, in 1917, when they dispatched the defending champions, the National Hockey Association's Montreal Canadiens -- the NHL has only flirted with the city for decades.Ownership groups surfaced, then disappeared. Arena bids sprouted, but never blossomed. The NHL spurned other logical favorites, such as Quebec City, and added Las Vegas while Seattle still waited at the altar. In all of this time, that this city managed not to get a team?" says Jeff Obermeyer, who authored the book "Hockey in Seattle." "It doesn't make much sense."
The area actually supports two junior teams within an hour drive of each other. The Western Hockey League's Everett Silvertips play just 30 miles north of Seattle. When the Silvertips and Thunderbirds play at the same time, as many as 12,000 people are attending hockey games in the area at once -- and that's simply to watch juniors.
The city has already shown it can be fervent. The NFL's Seahawks' "12th man" generates buzz, but many Seattleites point to the MLS Sounders as a model the NHL team should follow. Although the franchise is only 10 years old, the Sounders led the MLS in attendance for their first eight seasons, and finished second behind only Atlanta in 2017, while averaging 43,666 per game (the next closest team was Toronto, which averaged 27,647). They consistently sell out CenturyLink Field. The Sounders built their following from the ground up. They host college football-style rallies downtown that conclude with a well-attended march to the match.
But, of course, if you're talking about professional sports in Seattle, the sting of the SuperSonics' absence lingers. The NBA team was plucked from Seattle and transported to Oklahoma City in 2008, in large part because its owners could not secure public funding for Womens Yoenis Cespedes Jersey a new arena. KeyArena was outdated by modern sports' standards. OVG's plan includes creating 2,200 club seats for hockey, and more for basketball, which certainly would be attractive in a city that boasts eight Fortune 500 companies. Amazon's campus is nestled against the arena.
It's especially a shame that the Sonics left just as Seattle was having its moment. A tech boom is heralding record growth. From April 2015 to 2016, for example, Seattle and its surrounding counties added 86,320 new residents, according to a report from The Puget Sound Regional Council.
Paul Kim was born in Seoul, http://www.officialmapleleafsonline.com/Dave_Keon_Jersey South Korea. He had Authentic Brian Urlacher Jersey asthma as a child, so his mother signed him up for hockey because she wanted him to be active, and the confines of a rink would protect him from the pollen and http://www.authenticredsox.com/Authentic-Xander-Bogaerts-Jersey allergens outside. Once he stepped on the ice, Kim was hooked. When he was 10, Kim's family moved to Seattle, and his obsession intensified.
He went on to study economics at the University of Washington but in his free time became fascinated by the city's hockey history. He spent hours in the library researching the Seattle Metropolitans. That's when he realized someone held the trademark for the Seattle Metropolitans name, but wasn't using it, and by law, he could challenge for the name.
Last week, DetroitHockey.net reported that someone who apparently works for OVG registered 38 website domains with 13 possible team names: Cougars, Eagles, Emeralds, Evergreens, Firebirds, Kraken, Rainiers, Renegades, Sea Lions, Seals, Sockeyes, Totems and Whales. The team's potential name has become one of the hottest topics in town, igniting a mad dash for rights.
Pamela Bowerman, whose pen name is Jami Davenport, filed an application with the U.S Patent and Trademark Office on Dec. 21 to own the Seattle Sockeyes. That's the name of a fictional team in her romance novels, which include "Penalty Play," "Shot on Goal" and "Crashing the Net." Additionally, a Microsoft attorney is trying to trademark the "Seattle Steelheads."

Biggest NBA All-Star snubs: Who should (and shouldn't) be in

SAN ANTONIO -- Spurs point guard Tony Parker met with Gregg Popovich before Sunday's 94-86 loss against the Indiana Pacers, and the coach told him he "thought it was time" to go with someone else in the starting lineup.

So, with second-year man Dejounte Murray hitting the court Jared Crick Youth jersey with the starters at point guard, Parker came off the bench for the 21st time of his 17-year career (postseason included), and for the first time since the 2010 playoffs against the Dallas Mavericks.
"I was like, 'Oh, no problem,'" an upbeat Parker said of his reaction to Popovich's decision. "Just like Manu [Ginobili], just like Pau [Gasol], that day's going to come. And if Pop sees something that is good for the team, I'll try to do my best. I support Pop's decision, and I'll try to help [Dejounte Murray] out as best I can, and try to be the best I can in that second unit with Manu [Ginobili] and Patty [Mills]."
After undergoing surgery to repair a torn quadriceps tendon last May, Parker spent seven months working through the rehabilitation process and returned to the lineup Nov. 27 in a win over the Mavericks. Throughout Parker's return, the Spurs have worked to manage the veteran's minutes. But Parker admitted to "hitting a wall" recently, saying "I'm just more focused on my leg because I know I [still] have another two months before I feel 100 percent."
"It's getting there. I just have to keep working on it, and just be patient," Parker added. "[Cavaliers guard] Isaiah Thomas, he talked about that. When you first come back you have the adrenaline. I had all the energy, and the first 10 games I was feeling great. Then I hit that wall. Because for seven months you're working so hard on your rehab to try to come back, and you have the adrenaline, and you have the juice. The last seven or eight games, I felt like I was hitting a wall because I worked so hard to come back fast. At the same time I was hitting the wall, I twisted my Justin Pugh Authentic Jersey ankle. So, I felt like it was just bad timing with everything. But at the end of the day, you have to find a way to produce, and I have confidence in myself. I was talking to my doctor, and he told me that's normal that you're going to hit the wall. It's at 10 or 11 months that you're really, really back. They always say the second year, you'll play even better than the first year back. So that's why I have to be patient."
In the four previous games before the team's loss http://www.officialpanthersfootballauthentic.com/Nike-Harrison-Butker-Jersey.html Sunday to Indiana, Parker had connected on just 9-of-32 attempts for 22 points and 15 assists. The battered Spurs, already playing without star forward Kawhi Leonard, Rudy Gay (heel bursitis) and Ginobili (thigh contusion), had also just played six of their past seven games on the road going into Sunday's matchup at the AT&T Center.
Coming off the bench against the Pacers, Parker scored 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting to go with five assists. Parker also knocked down his 500th career 3-pointer. Parker is now one of just four players in NBA history with 500 3-pointers or more to go with 18,000 points or more and 6,500 assists or more, joining the likes of LeBron James, Gary Payton and John Stockton. I'm still planning on being very productive. I think I showed it tonight," http://www.officialspatriotsauthenticstore.com/Kyle_Van_Noy_Jersey_Cheap Parker said. "I'll try to be productive, come in and run the team with whoever's in the second unit and try to be the best I can."
"It's above my pay grade, it's above my head," Green said. "At the start, it was different. But I think Dejounte did a great job of coming in and pushing the pace. I think that's what they wanted him to do [with] working Tony in with the pick-and-roll game. But Dejounte gets it up the floor. He's kind of the road runner. So, we're using him efficiently with obviously matchups defensively; his long arms, his athleticism and rebounding. And offensively, just pushing the pace and trying to give us more movement. I don't know, I just had to guess. But you'd have to ask big boss." he Spurs committed 20 turnovers against the Pacers in losing their second outing in a row. San Antonio hadn't lost two in a row since Dec. 12 and Dec. 15.
"It was not something expected," Spurs center Pau Gasol said of the switch in the starting lineup, "but at the same time, we've played with both point guards before. Dejounte's been playing well. We have to worry about ourselves and do our best to understand where we are at, play hard and play together as always. That's what is keeping us alive."

Wenger backs Mkhitaryan to recover

Since Alexis Sánchez’s transfer to Manchester United was confirmed on Monday evening there has not been a single tweet from one of his former Arsenal team-mates to wish him well or say what a pleasure it was to play alongside him. These guys and this club are not noted for their reticence on the social media platform. Sometimes, it is what is left unsaid that Authentic Ryan Grant Jersey makes the point.

Arsène Wenger went the other way. The manager had something to get off his chest on Tuesday morning and he dived right in. Arsenal are one game from the Carabao Cup final – they entertain Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium in the semi-final, second-leg on Wednesday night, with the scoreline locked at 0-0 from the first leg – and Wenger was asked whether victory and a Wembley appearance would lift the mood at the club.
“To change the mood?” Wenger said. ‘I have no illusions at all. The mood is decided by you [the press]. Look, we have been in a few finals. Has it changed your mood? No. You celebrate some teams who have not been in a final for 25 years and yet you kill us, even though we have won the FA Cup three times in the last four years. It’s like that. We have to live with that.”
Tottenham Hotspur’s last appearance in an FA Cup final was 1991 and there is http://www.officialnikejetshop.com/quincy-enunwa-jersey-for-sale-c-42.html the sense in some quarters at Arsenal that the British press have anointed them as their darlings – despite http://www.authenticbluejacketsstore.com/-71-nick-foligno-jersey_c-448.html their lack of silverware. Similarly, they feel that Liverpool, who have struggled for trophies in the past decade or so, have been feted more than criticised.
It is into this climate – one characterised by the mentality of the siege and where meltdowns bubble around every corner – that Arsenal welcome Henrikh Mkhitaryan. The Armenian, who joined from United in a straight swap for Sánchez, is cup-tied against Chelsea and must wait until next Tuesday to make his Arsenal debut – at Swansea City in the Premier League. The pressure will be on him to provide positivity from the off.
If things had worked out differently, Mkhitaryan would have become an Arsenal player in the summer of 2016. “I met him and we were close at the time but, in the end, it didn’t work,” Wenger said. The attacking midfielder would leave Borussia Dortmund for United; Wenger has said many times that Arsenal cannot compete for players – on a financial level – with either Manchester club.
Mkhitaryan struggled under José Mourinho at Old Trafford and Wenger said C.J. Anderson Authentic Jersey that the challenge for him would be to put the psychological scars behind him – in the same way that Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne have done. Both of them struggled under Mourinho at Chelsea.
“You worry about how much it has affected him but it’s a new chance for him and that’s what you want in life,” Wenger said. “With his quality, I’m sure that he will take it. I might have to analyse with him how it went [at United], what we can do, how can we help him?”
It is clear that Mkhitaryan is no like-for-like Sanchez replacement and Wenger raised the prospect of him filling the midfield boots of the long-term injury victim Santi Cazorla. “Personally, I see him first wide but I’m thinking as well that there is the possibility for him to play through the middle, Wenger said. “As a No10? Or even deeper.”

Best QBs, NFL draft risers, more from Day 1 at Senior Bowl

Practices are underway at the 2018 Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, where quarterbacks Josh Allen and Baker Mayfield are the main attraction on rosters full of NFL draft talent. Allen and the rest of the top senior NFL draft prospects were poked, prodded, measured and weighed Tuesday morning, but Mayfield's arrival was delayed, and he got to Mobile in time for the North team practice in the afternoon.

Now that both teams have practiced, our team of NFL draft experts -- Todd McShay, Matt Bowen and Steve Muench -- are breaking down how the best prospects fared, which under-the-radar prospects are rising, and more. Here's their recap of Day 1.

Sando: Knowing the 49ers were able to land Jimmy Garoppolo from New England for a second-round choice made it easier -- more defensible, at least -- to bypass a quarterback in this re-draft. It's not just me saying they might be able to find a QB another way. We all know they did exactly that, even though they could not have known how things would shake out when they traded back from the second overall spot on Day 1 of the 2017 draft.
Garrett was one of the most talented players in the class. Selecting him did not require much justification. He was there; I took him. Alvin Kamara and Marshon Lattimore Darron Lee Authentic Jersey were the other players from the draft who stood out in my mind as alternatives. The 49ers already have a good running back, and they're running a system that has succeeded in the past with quite a few backs with varied pedigrees. Lattimore's injury history was still a slight concern in my mind, even though he played more games than Garrett did this past season.
Yates: Quarterback play is the function of player ability, coaching and circumstances. Immediate success is not entirely uncommon -- Dak Prescott was an MVP candidate as a rookie in 2016 -- but it should also not be the barometer to measure a quarterback after just one season in the NFL.
After all, Chicago drafted Trubisky with the intention of redshirting him, a plan that went awry because of the performance of Mike Glennon.
When reviewing Trubisky's rookie campaign, particularly when bypassing other players such Josh Reddick Womens Jersey as Lattimore http://www.officialpelicansstore.com/Jrue_Holiday_Jersey with this pick, it's important to analyze beyond what the numbers -- 2,193 yards, seven touchdowns and seven interceptions with a 59.4 percent completion percentage -- tell us about him. Trubisky played within an offense whose top wide receiver for much of his time as the starter was either Dontrelle Inman, cast off by the Chargers for a late conditional draft pick, or Jonas Brodin Womens Jersey Kendall Wright, who signed a one-year deal after not fully meeting expectations in Tennessee.
When the Bears hired Matt Nagy as their new head coach this offseason, a prevailing narrative was that the team aspires to recreate a Sean McVay-Jared Goff dynamic with Nagy and Trubisky. That isn't a certainty to happen given how expediently McVay and Goff found success, but if the Bears passed on Trubisky in this spot, the team would have had -- and still have -- a massive quarterback quandary. anking on player development via a strong coaching staff that would be in place for Trubisky's second year plus the undeniable talent he brings to the table, he remains the pick at No. 3 overall.
Schatz: After a 10-6 playoff season, I'm sure the Jaguars still feel good about their selection of Leonard Fournette. But I'm a strong believer that you don't take a running back this high in the draft -- especially one who won't even average 4 yards per carry as a rookie. Kamara was the best rookie running back, but he doesn't really fit the power style the Jaguars want from their lead back, so he wouldn't make sense here either.
The Jaguars are so imbalanced that it seems absurd to suggest they needed a http://www.nflravensofficialonline.com/YOUTH+BRENT+URBAN+JERSEY defensive player with the No. 4 pick. Lattimore or Tre'Davious White would be fantastic additions to most teams, but Jacksonville already has two outstanding outside corners (Jalen Ramsey and A.J. Bouye) and Nolan Ryan Authentic Jersey a reasonable nickelback (Aaron Colvin).
No, the Jaguars need to be honest with themselves about their need at the most important position in the game: quarterback. Yes, Blake Bortles ranked 12th in ESPN's Total QBR metric this season, but that was his best career finish by far, and the positive performance was grouped into a handful of games. Overall, Bortles was the least consistent quarterback in the league.
He has four years of experience now. It's probably never going to get better than this. The Jaguars need to find a quarterback who can carry the team even on days the defense doesn't have a stellar performance. And a team that wants to build on defense and running the ball needs a quarterback with a big arm who can take advantage of the play-action opportunities deep. So, say hello to http://www.buffalosabresofficialonline.com/Adidas-Josh-Gorges-Jersey Mahomes, who in our re-draft world is now the heir apparent to Bortles in Jacksonville instead of Alex Smith in Kansas City. Mahomes was the highest-rated quarterback last year in Football Outsiders' QBASE projections, and the success of Goff and Case Keenum in 2017 means less reticence about drafting a quarterback out of an Air http://www.officialbuckstore.com/John_Henson_Jersey Raid college system. wholesale jerseys wholesale nfl jerseys cheap nfl jerseys nike cheap nfl jerseys usa nba jerseys wholesale wholesale nba jerseys nike nfl jerseys size chart wholesale jerseys free shipping

Bad Nick looks flummoxed on too many third-and-longs

In his two worrisome starts against the Raiders and Cowboys in Weeks 16 and 17, respectively, Foles and the Eagles went just 1-for-17 on third down. That includes a 1-for-14 performance against the Raiders, who ranked 26th in the league on third-down defense this year. (To be fair, the Eagles went 2-for-2 on fourth down.) Foles needed an average of 7.4 yards to convert those third downs, and in his three tries the following week, Foles required an average of 11.7 yards to move the chains. The difference between 6 yards to convert and 7.4 yards to convert doesn't sound like much until you consider that the shortest average third down in the league belonged to the Packers at 6.3 yards, while 7.4 yards would have been 22nd.

Good Nick has the ball out quick, thanks in part to run-pass options (RPOs) and screens. The best half-season of Foles' life came as the quarterback for Chip Kelly, who really introduced RPOs as a staple of an offensive attack in 2013. The Authentic Nick O'Leary Jersey Eagles still run a few of Kelly's concepts, and while current coach Doug Pederson assigned Foles a few RPOs in the Giants game, he didn't really get back to them as a meaningful part of the offense until the second half of the Falcons game in the divisional round.
As a pro quarterback, Foles has been at his best when he's getting the ball out before things begin to bog down. He's not the best quarterback on the run or while improvising, although he did come up with a beautiful pass to Agholor up the sideline on a third down Sunday. The RPOs Pederson dialed up keep things simple for Foles, allowing him to read one player -- often a linebacker -- before making a safe throw to an open space where he knows his receiver is about to break. And when an RPO has worked, Pederson hasn't been afraid to go back to it in the same game or even on the very next play.
Pederson also has focused on making Foles' life easier with the screen game, which helped gas out http://www.officialchicagoblackhawks.com/Adidas-CM-Punk-Jersey the Vikings' pass rush on Sunday. Since Week 15, Foles leads the league with 189 passing yards on 20 screens, putting him third in attempts, behind Blake Bortles and Ben Roethlisberger. Philly turned seven screen attempts into seven completions, three first downs and 50 yards on Sunday.
Anyone is a threat at any time to be the target of a screen pass for the Eagles, who have completed screens to 10 receivers since Foles entered the lineup, including seven for 108 yards to Jay Ajayi. Ajayi had just 67 receiving yards in his seven games with the Dolphins. Pederson also does a good job of building bigger plays off of the screen game, including a fake screen-and-go to Burton for an easy touchdown against the Giants. That's a hallmark, coincidentally, of Josh McDaniels with the Patriots.
Bad Nick double-clutches the ball and waits for a window that isn't opening. Foles is capable of making plays off-schedule, as he did on the bomb to Jeffery for a touchdown Sunday night, but it's not his forté. His decision-making often grows more questionable as he holds onto the ball for a longer period of time, leading Foles to either force the ball into a window that isn't there or hold onto the ball too long while waiting for an opportunity to arise.
While Foles' numbers looked superficially good heading into this Vikings game, his underlying play hadn't matched up. Foles had two interceptions to his name, but that number should have been closer to five or six. The Giants dropped two stone-cold Foles interceptions in his debut as a starter and might have had a third with some luck. Reggie Nelson dropped a would-be pick before grabbing one later in the victory over the Raiders. Against the Falcons, famously, a pressured Foles lobbed up a duck that somehow bounced off Keanu Neal and into the arms of Torrey Smith for a 20-yard gain, which helped set up what would eventually be a crucial field goal just before halftime. Every quarterback is lucky enough to have some interceptions hit the ground, but before Sunday, Foles' luck had been more generous than most.
Good Nick gets in a rhythm and bad Nick does not. I don't think we're very good at identifying whether a player or team has momentum, but it certainly seems like the current version of Foles looks far more comfortable in the pocket than he did during that ugly stretch of football toward the end of the regular season. His footwork is more concise, and his throws come out when Foles can take advantage of his arm strength, as opposed to in those moments in between steps, when Foles seems to find that brief window. His movement inside the pocket has been far more assured during the playoffs. It also helps that Jason Kelce's snapping has been more consistent in January than it was during a frustrating end to the regular season.
Evaluate Foles' performance on a half-by-half basis, and a fascinating trend emerges, one that was informed from watching him play. After entering the lineup as the starter in Week 15, Foles looked good -- and got worse with each passing half. Since he returned to the lineup in the divisional round after two weeks off, though, Foles has improved half after half:
I think the bye week really helped the Eagles. It gave Pederson a chance to take a step backward, evaluate old Foles tape and integrate concepts that may have worked for the QB in the past back into Philadelphia's offense, including the emphasis on RPOs. It gave Foles a chance to breathe and regain his confidence after seemingly falling apart over the second half of the Raiders game and in his lone quarter against the Cowboys.
Pederson was conservative with Foles on a windy night against the Falcons, and he Jarvis Jenkins Youth jersey kept his http://www.officialpacershop.com/authentic-13-paul-george-jersey.html quarterback to quick decisions and short throws. Each of Foles' 23 completions were what the NFL defines as "short" passes, within 15 yards of the line of scrimmage. He mostly attacked the middle of the field. On Sunday, Foles' scope widened. He threw the ball all over the field and attacked Minnesota Womens Terry Sawchuk Jersey vertically, going 4-of-7 for 172 yards on his deep throws, and that includes a drop from Smith on a pass Foles slightly underthrew.

transfers to rise by different route

Lazio won at San Siro on Sunday. An impressive feat at any time but all the more so on this occasion because they weren’t playing there. It was their neighbours, Roma, who had travelled to face Inter but a 1-1 draw between those teams was as good as a victory for the http://www.officialnhlhockeyonline.com/CHICAGO_BLACKHAWKS-c-1087_1095.html Biancocelesti, who took advantage of dropped points to climb into joint third.

They had done their part by thrashing Chievo 5-1 in the afternoon. So much for the theory that the winter break might cost Lazio momentum. This was the fourth time in 20 games they had hit five or more goals in a match – including a 5-2 win over Spal immediately before Serie A’s one-weekend pause.
Remarkable stuff, especially when you consider they lost Serie A’s leading scorer to injury on Sunday Martin Maldonado Jersey after only 35 minutes. Ciro Immobile should have exited much sooner – tweaking his thigh soon after kick-off and making little impact on the game thereafter. Instead it was Luis Alberto who opened the scoring with a deflected effort, and then Sergej Milinkovic-Savic who restored Lazio’s advantage after Manuel Pucciarelli had equalised in between. The Serbian added an elegant volleyed finish midway through the second half before Bastos and Nani completed the rout of Chievo.
You could argue the final http://www.officialtimberwolvesshop.com/authentic-8-nemanja-bjelica-jersey.html scoreline was misleading. Chievo were competitive for long stretches and things might have gone differently if the penalty they were awarded with the score 2-1 had not been overturned on a VAR review. Yet there is something compelling about the way this Lazio side finishes games – refusing to let up even after an opponent’s will has been broken.
Their 53 goals are the most of any team in Serie A, despite the fact they have a game in hand on the majority. They have got there by a different route to the other frontrunners, too, eschewing possession in favour of fast breaks and faster finishing: a ruthlessly efficient brand of counterattacking football devised by manager, Simone Inzaghi.
It’s a system that exploits the http://www.officialauthenticknights.com/Adidas-Authentic-Colin-Miller-Jersey talent at his disposal. Immobile divides opinion, a centre-forward who lacks the all-around game of the world’s best at his position and who struggled badly when called upon to become a more complete player at Dortmund and Sevilla. Yet his instincts and timing around the 18-yard box are exceptional. Limit his role to what he does well, and he can John Hannah Jersey be very effective indeed.
Likewise, Milinkovic-Savic and Luis Alberto have flourished in roles behind the attack, empowered to carry the ball forward and assault spaces that open up when an opponent overcommits. With Immobile running on ahead of them, defenders are routinely confronted with the stark choice of backing off and inviting one of those two to take a shot on themselves, or risking the ball in behind.
Inzaghi has, in short order, emerged as one of the most promising young managers on the peninsula – a fact that Clay Buchholz Jersey only looks more impressive when you consider he is going against current tactical trends. Not bad for a man who was initially only intended as a caretaker appointment in the spring of 2016 and who got the job full-time only because Marcelo Bielsa changed his mind about taking it in the summer.
Perhaps Lazio could have avoided that whole saga if they had listened to the players. “As soon as [Inzaghi] arrived, he just brought this positive energy that made us feel right,” Milinkovic-Savic said during a June interview with Serbian media. “He created this atmosphere in which everyone trusts their team-mates. There are no cliques – where I might, say, only speak to [compatriots] Dusan Basta or Filip Djordjevic.”
To focus solely on the manager, though, feels reductive. Lazio owe their success also to the recruitment strategy that brought in such players as Milinkovic-Savic – these days a reported €100m target for Europe’s wealthiest clubs – for barely a tenth of that sum in 2015. wholesale nfl jerseys nfl jerseys china nike nfl jerseys size chart nhl jerseys china cheap hockey jerseys nfl jerseys outlet

NFL execs predict Case Keenum's 2018 deal

PHILADELPHIA -- Sunday night wasn't Case Keenum's night, to put it mildly, but 2017 was still resoundingly his season. The Minnesota Vikings quarterback parlayed a one-year, $2 million contract as a backup into a more lucrative future -- even if his performance in the NFC Championship Game loss knocked him down a notch or two.

With insights from agents, salary-cap managers and other insiders, we size up how much Keenum will command, what Minnesota might be thinking and where Keenum fits with his peers from a statistical standpoint. It will be interesting to Authentic Aaron Donald Jersey see how it shakes out," a personnel director said. "I think the dominoes will start falling when you see where [Vikings offensive coordinator] Pat Shurmur will go, and does he take [Sam] Bradford or Keenum? Even if Shurmur goes to New York, I think one of those QBs goes somehow."
Given how similar the Eagles and Vikings were heading into this postseason, it shouldn't be a surprise that Philadelphia stole Minnesota's narrative as part of its 38-7 blowout victory in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday evening. All year, the Vikings were the deep team who could only possibly be held back by their fill-in quarterback, only for Case Keenum to continually exceed expectations and play like a Pro Bowler.
On Sunday, with the Vikings finally possessing what most expected to http://www.authenticnikeredskinshop.com/tress-way-jersey-for-sale-c-22.html be an advantage at quarterback, they were played off the field by a remarkable performance from Nick Foles. Filling in for injured MVP candidate Carson Wentz, Foles delivered the best single-game performance by any Eagles quarterback this season by both passer rating and QBR. Foles finished the game with 352 yards and three touchdowns. In the second half, he went 11-of-11 for 159 yards and 2 touchdowns, which was good for both a perfect passer rating (158.3) and QBR (99.9). That's the first time someone has Ryan Callahan Jersey done that on 10 or more attempts in the second half in more than five years.
Jubilant Eagles fans with no intention of heading to school or work this morning might very well take some time on Monday http://www.ravenshopfootballofficial.com/CROCKETT-GILLMORE-JERSEY-CHEAP.html to erase their tweets and disavow their texts from Dec. 25. Less than a month ago, it looked like Foles was going to sink a very promising Eagles season when he traded disastrous pass for pass with Derek Carr in an ugly Christmas night performance against the Raiders. Foles did just enough after a late Raiders turnover to set up a game-winning field goal, which in turn handed Philly home-field advantage for Sunday's victory. A week later, Foles started 4-for-11 with an interception before being rested for the remainder of the Week 17 game.
Across five games in six weeks, we've seen the full gamut of Nick Foles appearances. On Christmas, we saw the Foles who washed out in St. Louis under Jeff Fisher. On Sunday, we saw the guy who had one of the hottest half-seasons in league history under Chip Kelly in 2013. So how did the Eagles turn their quarterback around? And is there an early guess on which Foles we're likely to see against the Patriots in Super Captain Munnerlyn Jersey Bowl LII? I ran the numbers and watched every Foles snap from those five starts to try to identify the differences between Good Nick and Bad Nick:
Good Nick executes on manageable third downs. The most shocking thing to come out of Sunday's victory over the Vikings was what the Eagles were able to do on third down. During the regular season, Minnesota allowed teams to convert on just 25.2 percent of their third-down attempts. You won't be surprised to hear that 25.2 percent was the best rate in football in 2017, but to put things in context, the Vikings finished the year with the best third-down conversion rate on defense since 1991.
Foles carved up the Vikings on Sunday. By the time Foles threw his second touchdown pass to wide receiver Alshon Jeffery on third-and-goal to give Philadelphia a 38-7 lead, he and the Eagles had converted nine of their 11 third-down tries. One of those two failed conversions wasn't even Foles' fault, as he hit a wide-open Trey Burton, only for the backup tight end to jump and land out of bounds. Minnesota's only other stop on third down before the game was decided and Eagles fans began devising plans to climb Crisco Mountain was on a Danielle Hunter coverage sack.
The 29-year-old quarterback also pulled off the perfect passer rating and QBR feat on those third downs, going 10-of-11 for 159 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Eagles helped make it easier by leaving Foles with an average of just 6 yards to pick up those third-down tries, with only one third-and-10 along the way. In the two other games in which Foles has looked good on third down -- the Week 15 game against the Giants and last week's divisional-round victory over the Falcons -- the Eagles' offense went a combined 12-for-26 (46.2 percent) on third downs while facing an average of just under 6 yards per conversion attempt.
The Vikings also crushed themselves by failing to tackle on conversions that led to three touchdowns. Trae Waynes failed to wrap up on a Zach Ertz dig route on that third-and-10, which eventually led to a LeGarrette Blount touchdown. Anthony Barr was unable to bring Corey Clement down on a third-and-6 swing pass that should have ended a Philadelphia drive; on the ensuing third down, Foles eluded pressure and hit Jeffery for a 53-yard touchdown. And in the third quarter, when Torrey Smith squeezed out a conversion on a third-and-6 screen through the tackle attempt of reserve safety Anthony Harris, he hopped back up and scored a 41-yard touchdown on a flea flicker on the very next play. Those three possessions should have resulted in three punts, and instead cost the Vikings 21 points. basketball jerseys cheap nfl jerseys mlb jerseys china nfl jerseys wholesale cheap nfl jerseys free shipping
