you watched the Houston Texans defeat the Miami Dolphins on Thursday Night Football. Deshaun Watson had a marvelous game for Houston as did wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. I mean https://www.dallascowboysfanshop.com/Michael-Gallup-Jersey , look at this catch. You’ll remember that after the Cowboys lost in Houston a few weeks ago that Jerry Jones discussed how he wanted a number one receiver like Hopkins. Obviously the owner/general manager feels that Amari Cooper is someone capable of being that, which is why Dallas tossed a first-round pick Oakland’s way in order to acquire him.Jerry Jones was on 105.3 The Fan on Friday morning and spoke at length about the new toy on offense for Dak Prescott. Jerry appears often on 105.3 but actually cancelled his appearance on Tuesday morning. Many speculated that this was because he was preparing for a big move of a negative nature, but Jerry came clean that it was because he “can’t keep a secret” and the Amari trade was in the works.Jerry seems quite confident that Amari Cooper is going to bring new firepower to the Cowboys offense. He likened him to a Cowboys receiver of old (who also happened to wear number 19) when discussing his game and he noted how much he’s expected to make an impact.Lance Alworth wasn’t the only previous member of the Cowboys to be mentioned by Jerry Jones in the Amari Cooper discussions. Jerry noted that he called a former linebacker of the team who’s gotten into coaching in his later years, one who happened to coach and draft Cooper while in Oakland... Jack Del Rio. It’s going to be a lot of fun to watch Cooper for the first time in Week 9.Tale of the tape: Cowboys offensive line struggles are hindering the offense It is no secret the Cowboys offensive line has struggled throughout the 2018 season. With a brand new left guard, a fill-in at center, and a new offensive line coach, there were plenty of worries entering the year how this group would play. At times, they’ve played well. Take the Jacksonville game for example, you couldn’t have asked the Cowboys OL to handle that Jacksonville front any better than they did. Fast forward a week later, and they played their worst game of the season, in a game they desperately needed to win. Let’s take a look at the film and see what in the world is going on with the Dallas’ offensive line.Communication and consistency We’ve heard multiple times throughout the year that the Cowboys have struggled communicating protections and audibles on offense. That was on display yet again in Sunday’s matchup against the Redskins. There were multiple occasions where an offensive lineman either didn’t block anyone on a play or completely missed their assignment https://www.dallascowboysfanshop.com , thinking the play was going elsewhere. Play 1 - Washington rushes four, and the Cowboys struggling picking up the stuntThis exact play has happened far too often for the Cowboys offensive line this season. For whatever reasons, the Dallas’ tackles and guards have struggled passing these off, without giving up the pressures or the sacks. It didn’t help on this specific play that the only player Joe Looney touched was his own teammate Connor Williams. When watching the play, it looks as if Allen actually holds Williams on the play, but that rarely gets called in the NFL. Both Williams and Smith recognize the twist, but can’t pass it off cleanly which results in a sack.Regression at multiple positions has killed Cowboys OLWhen turning on the tape, it’s not just one or two players who have struggled for the Cowboys. You can look at all five of the lineman and point to mistakes they are making both in the passing game and running game. The sudden regression at multiple spots, and some of the things we’re hearing about people not enjoying Paul Alexander's new technique, leads me to believe that it may not be so much about the players themselves, but the way they are being taught to play.Play 1 - Collins gets walked back before routes can developDak Prescott was hoping to get the football to Michael Gallup hear who had Josh Norman beat at the top of his route Dallas Cowboys Customized Jerseys , unfortunately for the Cowboys it did not matter, because Prescott was unable to get the ball off. La’el Collins gets beat here by a straight longarm bullrush from Ryan Kerrigan. Collins gets walked all the way back into Dak Prescott’s lap which forced him to pull the ball down, and try to escape Kerrigan. Play 2 - Tyron can’t get to his spot and loses against Smith’s speedIt’s not to often you see Tyron Smith get beat with a simple around-the-arch speed rush. Preston Smith does just that without really having to throw much of a move to fight off Smith’s punch. Tyron has struggled this year gaining depth in his initial kick step, which has resulted in him struggling with speed rushers more than he’s used to. If Tyron was able to gain more ground with his outside leg off the snap, he likely could have ridden Preston Smith up the arch and out of the play. Instead, he goes with a short choppy step, and gets beat to his spot. This was an easy win for Preston Smith.Play 2 - Even after a chip, Preston Smith almost gets homeYou know things are bad when you leave a tight end in to chip the pass rusher, and the rusher still hits the quarterback as he’s delivering the football. Tyron allows Smith to get to far into his chest here which allows Smith to get off his initial block, reset, and bend the edge for a clean shot at the quarterback. It seems as if Tyron also lost awareness of how close he was to the pocket/quarterback Dallas Cowboys T-Shirts , and decided to let his guard down a little after the initial contact. Tyron has excellent length, and athleticism, but so far in 2018 he has yet to show that on a consistent basis.Running games struggles don’t always lead back to loaded boxesIt’s being reported that the Cowboys running game has struggled so much due to the amount of defenders in the box versus the amount of blockers the Cowboys have assigned. While that is a problem on some running plays, sometimes the OL just hasn’t been good enough.Play 1 - Nowhere to run to the right sideWhen you watch this play, you’ll notice La’el Collins getting crushed working to get to the second-level. While that is the main cause for concern on this play, you’ll also notice Tyron Smith failing to beat his man to his spot as well. Even if Collins does get to his man and does his job, #54 for the Redskins is right there behind him to make the tackle on Ezekiel Elliott.Play 2 - Tight End FailAs you may know, the Cowboys LOVE to ask their TE’s to block in the running game. Unfortunately, they don’t have a guy very good at that task. Surprisingly, it’s Rico Gathers that does a really nice job here turning his man and setting the edge for Ezekiel Elliott. Unfortunately, Connor Williams and Geoff Swaim can’t execute their blocks https://www.dallascowboysfanshop.com/hats , and the plays gets blown up before it can even get started. Swaim gets knocked back off the snap, which forces Elliott to bounce the ball further outside than he wanted to, then when you add in Williams failing to reach his man, this play was absolutely doomed as soon as Swaim lost his battle. It’s unfortunate, because Rico Gathers and Zack Martin did a really nice job of winning their matchups on the play. With a bye week this week, the Cowboys will have an opportunity to regroup and figure things out while still being in the thick of the division race. For the personnel, it is unlikely you’ll see any significant changes, the only real change that could come is letting go of Paul Alexander, and promoting Marc Colombo, thought the opportunity for that has probably come and gone.

Football is back Thomas Morstead Jersey , and the regular season is just two weeks away. It might have just been the preseason, but it’s still something. So with the return of football, comes the return of our “Ups” and “Downs” series. In what was another roller-coaster of a game with plenty of ups and downs along the way, here are a couple that stood out.Jake Roth-USA TODAY SportsUp: Taysom HillThe Taysom Hill hype train lives! After an abysmal showing in the Saints second preseason game of the year, Hill came back and showed exactly why he fits in a Sean Payton offense. He made a short and crisp throw to Tre’Quan Smith late in the game for a touchdown. He also rushed for a touchdown earlier in the game. He scored a two-point conversion when he kept the ball away from Boston Scott and rushed around the edge, and later Scott was able to score a two-point conversion himself when the threat of Hill keeping the ball forced the opposing defender to cheat outside. That’s not even mentioning the most exciting element that Hill brings to this team: Hill can absolutely wreak havoc on special teams. This time, it wasn’t in the form of a blocked punt or a key special teams tackle, but rather a direct snap on a fake punt where he was able to use his speed to pick up a first down and continue a drive.More of that, please.Kirby Lee-USA TODAY SportsUp: Austin CarrHe lives! After staying relatively quiet through training camp and the first week of the preseason, former UDFA Austin Carr has finished with back-to-back games of nearly 40 receiving yards out of the slot. We also know Drew Brees like his trusted “hands”/possession receiver in the slot for key third downs, with the likes of Willie Snead and Lance Moore having filled that role in the past, but now Austin Carr has taken a big step forward to try to be that guy for 2018.Jake Roth-USA TODAY SportsUp: Marcus DavenportThe 2018 1st Round draft pick didn’t light the stat sheet on fire during his half of play, but the fact that Marcus Davenport finally saw the field for live football action is an “Up” in and of itself. The pass rushing defensive end finished the game with 3 total tackles (with one tackle for loss), .5 sack, and 1 QB hit during his time with the ones. One of his tackles was on an athletic play where he initially over-pursued a sweep toward the sideline but was able to twist his body around to make a stop on the Chargers Travis Benjamin.Jake Roth-USA TODAY SportsDown: Drew BreesIt has to be said, right?Brees has seemingly struggled with the interception bug during training camp, with multiple reports of S Marcus Williams picking Brees off in team drills. When Drew was finally able to see preseason action, his second pass attempt of the game went for an easy interception as he threw a ball into double coverage intended for Ted Ginn Jr.Hopefully this isn’t a throw Drew would attempt in the regular season, but let’s be honest: we all know it is. And that’s why we love him.Weekend Content: Power ranking the Saints’ undrafted rookies The New Orleans Saints still haven’t announced an official list of undrafted free agent signings, so I had to refer to the team’s officially-incomplete roster at NewOrleansSaints.com.Any inaccuracies on this list are due to a failure of research on my part.So let’s get into this week’s Weekend Content, where I’m presenting a power ranking of the dozen undrafted free agents currently on the team roster:12. Offensive tackle Nate Wozniak, MinnesotaIt’s unfortunate Cheap Michael Thomas Jersey , but somebody has to be ranked last, and in this case it’s the big tight end who was immediately converted to playing offensive tackle.Props to Wozniak for telling the Atlanta Falcons, “no thanks” and signing with the Saints after the draft, but he’s got a tough road ahead of him.11. Defensive tackle Taylor Stallworth, South Carolina It’ll take some time before Stallworth can prove his power level, but for now he’s stuck behind a more-accomplished peer in Henry Mondeuax and the Saints’ young, ascending defensive line rotation - Sheldon Rankins and Tyeler Davison figure to start with David Onyemata seeing heavy action, and last year’s preseason darling Mitchell Loewen returning from an injury.10. Defensive back J.T. Gray, Mississippi StateIt’s not clear yet where J.T. Gray will line up, which is a problem. He filled in at slot corner, box safety, rover/money/star linebacker, and other odd jobs in college and doesn’t yet have an official designation for the Saints. But that broad-ranging skills set matches what was asked of Kenny Vaccaro last year, so Gray at least has an immediate path to fitting the defense.9. Linebacker Colton Jumper, TennesseeThe Saints have a bunch of linebackers, but just a few really good linebackers at the top and some older fringe players behind them - names like Nathan Stupar and Craig Robertson.Jumper played well against the run in college and could push one of those guys off the roster if he stands out on special teams and can show quick close on the ball during the preseason.More than anything, he needs to show he can affect the game in pass coverage.8. Linebacker KeShun Freeman, Georgia TechWe’ve got a strongside linebacker with size (6-foot-2, 240-pounds) and production (20.5 tackles for loss in college) who could ably step in behind A.J. Klein or Hau’oli Kikaha while making plays on special teams. That’s not a skills set the Saints have an abundance of.Freeman was a recent signee with the Saints after trying his hand in two weekends of rookie minicamps with the Saints and Baltimore Ravens, so the must have seen something they like.7. Interior offensive lineman Cory Helms, South CarolinaVersatility isn’t exactly an asset at every position, but it is along the offensive line.Helms has started at center and guard for two different programs (South Carolina and Wake Forest) and could take advantage of the uncertainty found in Senio Kelemete’s absence.Cameron Tom and Will Clapp figure to have better odds to make the final roster Tyeler Davison Jersey , but Helms shouldn’t be ruled out.6. Defensive tackle Hendry Mondeaux, OregonHenry Mondeaux can play! He’s a taller lineman (6-foot-4, 280-pounds) in the mold of Arik Armstead and DeForest Buckner who had 10 sacks the last three years as a starter.I could see him really competing with Loewen for the fourth interior lineman spot as a nice developmental project now that Onyemata is nearing his fullest potential (and a contract year in 2020).5. Fullback Ryan Yuracheck, MarshallYuracheck didn’t really impress at his pro day workout, but he showed in college to be a reliable passing target on underneath routes the last three years as a starter - catching 126 passes and 24 touchdowns. He’s a competent enough blocker, and should be good competition for Zach Line for that gig.I think he offers some skills the Saints don’t really have.4. Cornerback Linden Stephens, CincinnatiThe Saints made it clear that they liked Stephens back at the East-West Shrine Game, and he ended up joining the team as an undrafted free agent. It seems like they find a 6-foot-0, 190-pound UDFA every year who plays well in the preseason and earns more action as the regular season wears on - think Ken Crawley’s career path.3. Wide receiver Keith Kirkwood, TempleKirkwood had a quiet rookie minicamp, but it was a confident quiet. He was one of the cornerstones for Temple’s passing offense and, according to people close to the program, one of the coaching staff’s favorite players. He’s a player who has enough talent and a clear mind to impact soon and grow into a bigger role over time.Don’t sleep on him.2.Tight end Deon Yelder, Western KencukyIt was awesome to see a tight end getting open down the seam and making over-the-shoulder catches in midair last weekend. It’s been quite some time since that’s happened on the Saints’ practice field, much less in games, but Yelder accomplished it.He’s the front-runner to get a roster spot out of the current crop of undrafted rookies, but he didn’t capture my heart the way the next contender did:1.Quarterback J.T. Barrett, Ohio StateHas any undrafted rookie made a better first impression than Barrett so far?He did everything asked of him well at rookie minicamps, which admittedly wasn’t much. We’ll get a better judge of his power in upcoming organized team activities, like the traditional post-practice quarterbacks challenge. But for now the leading spot is Barrett’s to lose.-Alright, that was fun.Which undrafted rookie are you enamored with?

JACKSONVILLE https://www.jaguarsfanstore.com/Barry-Church-Jersey , Fla. (AP) in Nashville. It was a new routine that caused him to miss Jacksonville’s offseason conditioning program. The All-Pro cornerback has no regrets, though, about the time away from coaches and teammates.”How do I put this the nicest way possible?” Ramsey said Tuesday after the first of a mandatory, three-day minicamp.”I don’t think any of my teammates had an issue because they know I was going to come back ready. But at the same time, if they did, I don’t think I would care `cause once I get out here I know what I was doing was the right thing for me.”Ramsey worked out in Jacksonville before his first two NFL seasons and fell behind both times because of injuries.”It was an offseason of getting back to the basics for me, kind of doing what got me to the position I’m in right now,” he said. ”It was also an offseason for me that I kind of labeled as `no-setback season,’ just `cause in the previous two years I haven’t even made it this far.”He had surgery in May 2016 for a torn meniscus in his right knee. He had surgery last June for a sports hernia.Ramsey still managed to become the best player on a stout defense. The fifth overall pick in the 2016 draft emerged as one of the top defensive backs in the league last year, locking down No. 1 receivers on a weekly basis. He was voted to the Pro Bowl in his second season and made the more exclusive All-Pro team.”I thought I was good in the past two years, and stay tuned,” he said.Ramsey already has matchups circled months before the season, beginning with Odell Beckham Jr. of the New York Giants in the opener and continuing a few weeks later against Kansas City’s Tyreke Hill. The list also includes familiar faces such as former teammate Allen Hurns, Houston’s DeAndre Hopkins, Philadelphia’s Alshon Jeffery, Indianapolis’ T.Y. Hilton and Pittsburgh’s Antonio Brown.”It’s what I love, but I can’t just love it Brandon Linder Color Rush Jersey ,” Ramsey said. ”I’ve got to prepare for it, too, so that’s what I’ve been doing this whole offseason. That’s what I’ll continue to do.”The Jaguars welcomed Ramsey back for minicamp, but coach Doug Marrone planned to work him in slowly.”Jalen has worked extremely hard with training with his dad. He’s anxious to go out there and say, `I’m ready to go. Let’s go,”’ Marrone said. ”I’m more like, `OK, listen, we’re going to get you in there for a couple and take you out. We just want to see where you are.”The worst thing you can do as a coach is put someone out there that maybe is not ready. Not to say that Jalen is not ready, but we want to make sure that we are doing the right thing for all of the players.”Ramsey had 107 tackles, 31 pass breakups and six interceptions in his first two seasons. He’s earned the respect of opponents as well as teammates, which made his decision to skip Jacksonville’s offseason program an easier one.”I know what I was doing is going to get me prepared as best as anything for the season,” he said. ”Once I put that out on the field, there won’t be any issues. I have a good relationship with all my teammates anyways, so if they did they would hit me up. I did it respectful. … I hit up people. I was like, `Hey, yo Jalen Ramsey Jersey , look, this is my plan for the offseason.’”And it’s not that I felt like I owed anybody an explanation. It’s just that’s how we vibe. That’s the locker room. … I was like, `Yo, I know y’all fixin’ to start it up. I’m not coming. I’m doing my thing. No worries.’ They said it right back: `You good, bro.”’— The Jacksonville Jaguars will be without their top receiver for the second straight year.Marqise Lee will have season-ending knee surgery and be placed on injured reserve, coach Doug Marrone said Monday.Lee, who led the team in receptions in 2017, was carted off the field Saturday night after Atlanta Falcons cornerback Damontae Kazee delivered a helmet-first hit to his knee. Tests confirmed what everyone in the stadium expected after seeing Lee’s knee buckle: The injury was clearly severe.Marrone declined to provide specifics about Lee’s injury but said the team has no plans to pursue a free-agent replacement.More Jacksonville Jaguars newsJaguars hope newcomer RB Carlos Hyde helps Blake Bortles get back on trackJaguars will be without A.J. Bouye, 2 more cornerbacks against Eagles in LondonJaguars view annual game in London as key component of franchise’s growthDespite slump, Jaguars sticking with Blake Bortles as starting QBTempers flare in Jaguars’ locker room after lopsided loss to Texans“I think we feel comfortable with what we have now,” Marrone said. It’s the second time in as many years Jacksonville has been dealt a significant setback at the position. The team lost No. 1 receiver Allen Robinson to a knee injury in last year’s regular-season opener. Robinson signed with Chicago in free agency.Lee is nearly a lock to be back with the Jags since his $7.25 million salary in 2019 is guaranteed. The Jaguars will miss him this fall, although it’s unclear how much considering Marrone’s offensive philosophy features a smash-mouth ground attack.“It’s not something that we wanted to happen again this year,” second-year receiver Keelan Cole said. “It’s the game of football, and things happen. But it was definitely a help last year, and knowing what to do from here is also good. It being the third game of the preseason, we get more time to figure out what we’re going to do about that.”Lee had 56 catches for 702 yards and three touchdowns last season, showing enough growth to get a four-year https://www.jaguarsfanstore.com/Leonard-Fournette-Jersey , $34 million contract in March that included $16.5 million guaranteed.A second-round draft pick from USC in 2014, Lee has 171 catches for 2,166 yards and eight touchdowns in four seasons.Without him, Cole, second-year pro Dede Westbrook, second-round draft pick DJ Chark and veteran Donte Moncrief will be asked to take on expanded roles.“There are people in that room that I believe will step up,” Marrone said.Although the helmet-lowering hit looked dirty, several Jaguars players said it’s part of the game these days.“You can’t be mad at (Kazee),” Jaguars All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey said. “You have to be mad at the NFL. Not mad at them, but that is how the rule is. People are scared to tackle normal because I guess they don’t want to do helmet-to-helmet and get flagged.”Added Cole: “It’s football. You can’t get hit high. … It’s the first (year) of it, so you can’t really say too much about it. If that rule’s been in for three years, then it’s something you’ve got to be like, ‘Maybe you did that on purpose.’ But it’s just football. There’s really nothing you can do about that. You’ve got to hit them somewhere.”

It’s our Monday column Kendall Fuller Color Rush Jersey , The Re-Up. In this column, I’ll write about some deeper thought I had about the last game and finish with some fun stuff to ponder at the article’s end. Check out last week’s column here.Photo by David Eulitt/Getty ImagesOver the past two decades or so, there have been those teams. You know the teams I’m talking about—Tom Brady’s Patriots, Peyton Manning’s Colts, Drew Brees’ Saints, Aaron Rodgers’ Packers, Ben Roethlisberger’s Steelers and Manning’s Broncos. The teams that came up on the Chiefs’ schedule who struck fear into your heart as a fan. You knew that the only way the Chiefs were winning on Sunday is if they played an absolute perfect game. Well, midway through the NFL season, I’m happy to report with confidence that the tables have turned.Usually, in this column, I stay in the Chiefs locker room and provide their thoughts. I’ll get to some of those in the lower sections. This week, follow me as we venture into what you might call “enemy territory.”In their 30-23 loss to the Chiefs, the Denver Broncos took 10 penalties for 83 yards, a stat that would become their post-game theme. Because if you’re going to beat the Chiefs, you cannot take penalties.“It killed us,” Broncos head coach Vance Joseph said. “We had three penalties that took away 20-plus-yard plays offensively. When you are playing a good football team like this that can score points in bunches and you can’t at least have a chance to match the points because of penalties, it is almost impossible to beat this team.”Photo by Justin Edmonds/Getty ImagesJoseph said he stressed the point inside the Denver locker room after the game.“I told our guys, whether they are good or bad, we can’t do it. When you are playing a good football team, it is tough to beat them without having those penalties. With the penalties, it is almost impossible, so we will go back and see the penalties and see how it shakes.”At halftime, the Broncos only trailed the Chiefs, 16-14, in what you felt like might turn into a classic divisional trap game for the home team. The Chiefs started with the ball in the third quarter and the Broncos were in desperate need of a stop. What they got instead was a nine-play, five-minute drive, which resulted in Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense waltzing down the field and putting the ball in the end zone.Photo by David Eulitt/Getty Images“We had opportunities to do it on that drive and we just didn’t capitalize on it,” Broncos linebacker Von Millers said. “That’s the frustrating part about it. Kansas City has a great team, a great team. But I feel like we have a great team, too. Whenever we don’t play up to our potential, it’s frustrating https://www.thechiefsfanshop.com/Anthony-Hitchens-Jersey , especially in moments like this.”Miller continued, touching upon the offensive creativity Andy Reid shows on a week-by-week basis.“I don’t know how many plays they got, they got counters as well,” he explained. “They can show you the same play 10 times, run it 10 times and then on the eleventh time run something else. They are extremely well-coached and have extremely talented players.”One of those, of course, being the MVP favorite in Patrick Mahomes, who gashed the Broncos for 303 yards, four touchdowns and one interception.Photo by Justin Edmonds/Getty Images“We went into the [game earlier in the season] and said, ‘Man, we missed this guy. We missed this guy six times,’” linebacker Shane Ray, who couldn’t play this time against the Chiefs, said. “Those were big plays that could have changed the game. The mindset for rushing was containing him, pushing the pocket and not letting him out. The guys did an excellent job [Sunday]. They kept him contained. Most of the time he wasn’t able to get outside of the pocket and make passes like he did the last game. Once again, just beating ourselves with penalties and allowing big plays down the field. We can’t win like that.”No matter what Denver did, there was a feeling on its sideline that the Chiefs were just too much to handle.“This was one of the hardest losses that I have ever had in the regular season,” cornerback Chris Harris Jr. said. “You fight so hard and do whatever you can to win and it’s really upsetting...I’m tired of it. I’m getting fed up with it, really. We’re beating ourselves every week. I can’t count how many penalties we had on ourselves. You can’t do that if you’re going to come in here and beat the Chiefs.”Heading into Chiefs week, the Broncos were coming off a win over the lowly 2-6 Arizona Cardinals. Denver took five penalties for 50 yards in that game but still won 45-10.Not to be on Sunday, when they doubled that.“We can get by with those mistakes and beat an Arizona team, but we can’t beat a Kansas City team like that,” inside linebacker Brandon Marshall said.Chiefs fans, welcome to the other side.RAPID REACTIONThis week’s Rapid Reaction was taken from my opening thoughts on the Arrowhead Pride post-game show, as first heard live on 610 Sports Radio in Kansas City.STAT OF THE GAMEGIF OF THE GAMETWEET(s) OF THE GAMEFIVE QUOTES1. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes on the defense stepping up in the fourth quarter: “It’s huge. When you’re in this league, you have to win with every aspect of the game. You can’t rely on the offense scoring 40 points. You can’t rely on the defense giving up zero points. Everybody has to be on the same page and I feel like in this game, it kind of showed that the defense was getting some stops early. Then the offense scored some points and then the defense held strong at the end. I mean, that’s what the good teams do. They win games with every aspect of the game. Special teams flipped the field it felt like every single time they had the opportunity. It speaks volumes of how this team is and how we pick each other up. I threw an interception and the defense got a turnover the next drive. I mean, that just speaks to the team that we have.”2. Chiefs defensive end Chris Jones on the outstanding play of outside linebacker Dee Ford: “You know, all the attention is on Dee. He is a great pass rusher, I’ll give that to him. Just keep it up Chad Henne Jersey , consistency lightens it up for the inside guys.”3. Chiefs wide receiver Sammy Watkins on whether the skillfulness of the Chiefs offense has taken the pressure off of him: “Honestly, yes. It’s not all about me or any guy on this team. If I’m not open I know (Travis Kelce) is going to be open. I can literally run my route but watch him catch the ball and it feels great to see everybody out there making plays.”4. Chiefs outside linebacker Breeland Speaks on the first full sack of his career: “Oh bro, it felt great. I was like, ‘Yeah, fat people can rush too.’ Here we go, we’re finally getting somewhere.”5. Chiefs outside linebacker Tanoh Kpassagnon on the Chiefs’ defensive effort against the Broncos: “This is something we knew was going to come; just keep working and be patient and keep working on it. We studied that team hard. We already played them so we kind of knew what they were hitting us with. We knew when a pass was coming. Once we saw those formations, we just went.”THE BIG THOUGHTJay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY SportsFollowing a game in which Kareem Hunt displayed his second human hurdle in as many weeks, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid was asked about his running back.“He is playing really good football,” Reid said. “I’m having a hard time believing anyone at that position is playing better. His numbers aren’t huge, but he is catching the ball, he’s running the ball, he’s hurdling people.”Of course, the quick response here is, “but Todd Gurley,” and while that is correct, let’s give the conversation a bit of perspective. Stats through eight games (2018)Through eight games, Gurley has 1,151 yards from scrimmage and 15 total touchdowns. That is remarkable, even compared to Hunt’s 854 yards from scrimmage and 10 total touchdowns. But I’d like to point your attention to the yards per attempt. With the ball in his hands on a rush, Gurley is averaging only three-tenths of a yard more than Hunt. On catches, Hunt is edging Gurley by 1.8 yards per reception.I’m not here to argue Hunt is the best running back in the league right now because he certainly is not. But Reid’s right. Given his game film lately and total production despite a slow start, Hunt deserves to be in the conversation.POLL OF THE WEEK During his start with the Buffalo Bills (2014-16) and then with the Los Angeles Rams (2017), Sammy Watkins admits he let his ego get the best of him.Early in his career, his focus was only on the numbers. In each game, he was striving to pad his stat sheet, believing that his team’s success depended on getting him the ball.Things have changed for the talented wide receiver.Five years into his career — and in his first season with the Kansas City Chiefs — both the stats he’s putting up and his approach to the game are different. Watkins is not only coming off his best game of the season following the Chiefs’ 30-23 victory over the Denver Broncos in Week 8 — in which Watkins set season-highs with eight catches, 107 yards and two touchdowns — but he’s also quintupled his career rushing yard totals. Watkins had just nine yards rushing over his first four years in the league. In Kansas City, all but one of his attempts has gone for nine or more yards. Photo by Peter Aiken/Getty Images“It just feels great,” Watkins candidly stated after the game. “Not just to score two times, but to get the win. To do it at a high level and just go out there and play my style of game running around having fun, throw some good blocks and have everybody catch a lot of balls.” While it was a great feeling Sammy Watkins Color Rush Jersey , it was one that took some time to experience. Before Sunday’s game, Watkins hadn’t scored a single touchdown since the Chiefs’ Week 3 home opener against the San Francisco 49ers. The following week — against the Denver Broncos at Mile High Stadium — Watkins was battling a sore hamstring, played only 12 snaps and didn’t record a single catch.Photo by Wesley Hitt/Getty Images“I kind of went to the Rams [last season] and it was the same situation,” Watkins said about his lessons in learning patience. “That kind of helped my game with blocking and just staying engaged and giving that fuel to other guys out there making plays.”This newfound patience — and a team-first mentality — are just two of the factors that have contributed to making Watkins the player he is today. “I was young and I was kind of ego-tripping,” Watkins said about his early years in the league. “Now I’m kind of older, and I understand it’s a team goal and every week it’s going to change. Next week Tyreek might have 180 yards or Kelce might have 180 yards and I might have 30. It’s going to switch up with all these star athletes running around. I know I’m not going to get 50 targets. That’s not realistic.”Watkins says the other receivers surrounding him on the Chiefs offense have removed the pressure he used to put on himself, which he says allows him to play his game more freely.“It’s not all about me or any guy on this team,” he said. “If I’m not open, I know Kelce’s going to be open. I can literally run my route, but watch him catch the ball and it feels great to see everybody out there making plays.”Watkins isn’t the only Chiefs receiver with this share-the-success attitude. Tight end Travis Kelce, who had six catches for 79 yards and a touchdown on Sunday, shared a similar sentiment when asked about Watkins’ big game.“It’s always good to see Sammy go off,” Kelce said. “Everything he does, you’re happy for the guy — just because of the type of person he is and how hard he works during the week. It’s awesome to see him have a day like he did today.”One player that has played a major role in fostering that selfless environment is 23-year-old quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who said that before Sunday’s game, he shared some words of encouragement to help get Watkins fired up. Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports“I kind of said, ‘You owe [the Broncos],’” Mahomes said afterward. “He was hurt in the last game [against Denver] at the very beginning, so they didn’t really know what kind of ability he brought to the offense. I was happy for him, to get out there and [make] a lot of big plays that really turned the tide of the game.”Head coach Andy Reid also appears to be pleased with Watkins’ growth — both mentally and physically. “His approach has been unbelievable,” coach Andy Reid said in Sunday’s postgame press conference. “He just comes out, does the same [thing], works hard. He’s not concerned about how many catches he has or any of that. For a big-time receiver, that’s unique.”I mentioned it to the guys that there’s only one ball and we have a bunch of guys who are pretty good players,” Reid continued. “When you have an opportunity, be a part of that, and he’s done that. He’s done a nice job with it.”

For rs gold example, in 1952, a well dressed woman might be expected to wear a proper hat and gloves when going out; however, in 2010, a woman similarly attired might appear rather silly or, at best, hopelessly out of touch with current fashion. That's not really an expiry date.

It’s incredibly faithful on the desktop experience, which I can easily see as both a good thing along with a bad thing. Good in this if you’re playing on your pc at home you may log in on mobile and turn into exactly in which you left off, completely seamlessly, and fit everything in you’d ever do on the PC. Bad as some things is usually fairly clunky, even inside early game. Of course, Jagex is quick toRS Mobile Gold say that both mobile industry is in beta at the moment, plus they’ve got circumstances to work through. I’ll be very curious to view what balance they be capable of strike between possessing complete seamless experience with a mobile UI that goes past just being completely functional and starts edging into being a fantastic way to play the experience for extended amounts of time- Or maybe perhaps the way you only play the action.

The Colts missed an opportunity to start out their season with a win http://www.coltsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-andrew-luck-jersey , but this week they’ll head on the road in hopes of preventing another 0-2 start, which has been the case for them since 2014. They’ll head to Landover, MD to face the Redskins, who are returning home from a dominant road win against the Arizona Cardinals. The Redskins are a formidable opponent, to be sure, and the Colts will need to be ready to go for them. A quick look at the stat line tells a little, but the full picture is, as always in the film. I had a look at the Redskins in their week one matchup, so with that knowledge in hand, let’s take a look at some key matchups to watch in the Colts’ week two meeting with the Redskins.Colts’ Front Seven vs Chris ThompsonMark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY SportsOne of the most noticeable and impressive parts of the Redskins game was running back Chris Thompson. Thompson is just plain explosive as a runner, and even more so as a receiving back. He averaged 13 yards per carry and his longest run was 16 yards, so this was not an illusion created by a crazy 90-yard broken play. He was really that good.Don’t get me wrong, Adrian Peterson was good as well, and had 96 yards on 26 touches, but he isn’t the back that I think will trouble the Colts. Thompson’s speed and vision to the outside allowed him to amass big yards in the first half as a receiving back and he had a couple big runs in the 2nd half as well to help close out the game. The Colts’ defense will need to be very disciplined and work hard to keep contain, because Thompson is an incredible talent and will absolutely eat this defense up if they don’t keep the running game locked down. When he is in the game Jack Doyle Jersey , they’ll have to be even more conscious of this, because his ability to break to the outside is very dangerous.Colts’ Offensive Line vs Redskins Pass RushFirst let’s point out the obvious: Andrew Luck is not Sam Bradford. Bradford made bad throws, got squirrely in the pocket, and just wasn’t very good on Sunday. This was in large part due to pretty consistent pressure from the Redskins front seven. If Anthony Castonzo is in the game on Sunday, this offensive line is significantly better than the Cardinals’ line, which couldn’t offer much in the way or pass or run blocking. That’s a big “if” too, because Castonzo was missing today from practice when it began. It could be that he is resting today. It could be that he was seeing training staff and would join the team later. Or it could be gamesmanship on the part of the coaching staff. But if it isn’t those things and Castonzo will miss more time, this line is going to struggle. They played a very admirable game on Sunday, but lost J’Marcus Webb to a hamstring injury while he tried to chase down Fejedelem on the fumble recovery that ended the Colts’ chances. They’ll need a similar performance against a very good defensive front of the Redskins to be successful on Sunday. Frank Reich vs Greg ManuskyMark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY SportsIt was notable while watching the Redskins vs Cardinals that there were very few times when the Cardinals had an open receiver in space. Credit should go to the Redskins for swarming to the ball and playing in tight coverage, but it also felt like a very familiar watch from an offensive playcalling perspective. I felt like I was once again watching Chuck Pagano’s uninspired Colts while the Cardinals forced the ball to David Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald, who were both smothered and largely unable to do anything. The problem for the Redskins is that Frank Reich designed plays in week one that got players open all over the place. Luck hit 9 different targets on Sunday, and that was by design. The Colts will get players open, and Luck is smart enough and accurate enough to get them the ball. The Colts were 11 of 17 on third down conversions. Compare that with the Cardinals who were just 1-8 against the Redskins. Again, credit the Redskins defense for a great effort, but don’t think for a second that the Colts will provide that same kind of opportunity. The Redskins defense stayed fresh because they weren’t on the field very long. The faced nearly constant 3-and-outs from the Cardinals’ offense. They were good, but the Cardinals’ offense was weak Authentic Adam Vinatieri Jersey , one dimensional, and unimpressive. Frank Reich knows this Redskins team well, and he will have prepared this team very well offensively for what they will face from the Redskins’ defense. He will be drawing up plays to get this team moving the ball well and keep the ball in the hands of Andrew Luck rather than Adrian Peterson and Chris Thompson. Greg Manusky will dial up blitzes, and his personnel with the team is undoubtedly much better than anything he was ever given as a part of the Colts coaching staff. However, the Colts got relatively poor play from both Jack Doyle and T.Y. Hilton in week one. As those are their two best players, I wouldn’t count on a repeat performance, and a few plays by either of those guys would have been a win last Sunday. T.Y. Hilton vs Josh NormanPhoto by Andy Lyons/Getty ImagesAs I said before the season, the Colts have typically gone as T.Y. Hilton goes. When he has big games, this team wins. It is important that they don’t revert entirely to that formula, because it can be too easy to game plan for. Frank Reich moved the ball around amongst various players on Sunday and got them all involved in the game, which is a very valuable way to combat defenses. Having said all that, Hilton is still their most dangerous and talented weapon as a pass catcher, and they need that to be obvious on Sunday if they want to get a win. Josh Norman is a very good cornerback, and I don’t anticipate that the Colts will throw at him often, but Hilton needs to be able to get some wins in that matchup, and he needs to get them early. This is a team that can grind out a game on the ground against a young Colts team Youth T.Y. Hilton Jersey , and Hilton can make that really difficult if he shows up ready to go.Indianapolis Colts By the Numbers: Week 1 Offensive Stats For 2018, I am going to create a weekly dashboard of Team and Player stats, which will be an evolving process. As the season progresses, I hope to have more meaningful analysis to present, but for now I’ll just slap some tables up and give you the bullet points of what I see. So here’s the week 1 offense.TEAM TOTALSI have ordered the table by points per drive as that is a much better indicator of how well a team played than just point totals, although they will obviously be highly correlated.IND ends up 17th in points but 11th by Pts/drv.Drive Success Rate (DSR) is the percentage of down series that results in a first down or touchdown: basically, how well does a team move the ball down the field. 72.7% is a good number and ranks 10th in week 1.If the Colts can maintain that for the season, we will all be very happy. The high DSR is explained by the ridiculously high 64.7% third down conversion rate, which was the best in the league.ADC is all down conversion rate, which is non-penalty first downs divided by scrimmage plays. The fact that 3DC was so high and ADC is just meh, means the Colts didn’t do a very good job on 1st and 2nd downs.3DC better not fall. PASSINGThis table is sorted by Adjusted Net Yards per Attempt (ANY/A) as that is one of the better passing stats and the IND offense is in the middle of the pack. 5.5 is pretty low for Luck.No one had more passing attempts than the Colts. That’s probably not a good thing.Luck’s completion rate was a 5th best 73.6% but that came at the cost of throwing a lot of short passes. His 6.0 YPA is 21st in the league and drives his low ANY/A. PDC is the passing down conversion, which is the number of non-penalty first downs on passing plays divided by attempts + sacks. It is an excellent stat and the Colts put up a mediocre 30.9%I included passing yards and passer rating which you are free to ignore. RUSHINGThis is sorted by EPA per carry because yards per carry sucks.A better metric would be weighted rush success rate but I don’t have that code working for the weekly data yet.In the meantime there’s not much to say.Colt’s didn’t rush much and they didn’t rush well. (edit: there was an error in the data for EPA/c, which has been fixed)I’ll flesh this out more as the season goes on and provide better data based narratives instead of just throwing tables at you.Do you have any suggestions of what you want to see? Let me know in the comments and I’ll see if I can incorporate it.

defensive line Heading into the Week 1 match-up with the Cincinnati Bengals Authentic Adam Vinatieri Jersey , fans were aware that there would be a real test for the offensive line. This is one of the most talented and deepest groups the team will face and Geno Atkins is a six-time Pro Bowler and 2-time All Pro defensive tackle. Hey, Quenton Nelson? Welcome to the NFL.There is no doubt that Andrew Luck experienced his share of pressure on Sunday. A number of the shots he took resulted in penalties that ended up helping Indianapolis but it is discouraging to see him take hits when there is so much concern about his surgically repaired throwing shoulder. This film room piece will attempt to gauge how much of the pressure Luck faced was directly due to Quenton Nelson’s performance in his first regular season NFL game. I have already read in the comments on Stampede Blue that he did not have a stellar performance and the self-anointed “game graders” at Pro Football Focus have been pretty harsh on him to this point in his young career.Let’s take a look ourselves, shall we?When I watched the replay of this holding call on Quenton Nelson (#56) during the live television broadcast, I thought it was a bad call. It appeared that Atkins (#97) lost his balance when he attempted to spin, and when Nelson fell to the ground it was like pulling a chair out from behind him.Looking at the All-22 film replays from both angles it is clear that he committed the hold. He gets beat badly to his inside and Ryan Kelly (#78) is no where to be found. He tries to recover but has given up so much leverage that he has no chance and wraps his left arm around the outside of Atkins to keep him from getting to the quarterback.Welcome to the NFL.For those who do not break down the film to determine responsibility on these plays, this is another example where Atkins gets pressure up the middle and is credited for a hit on Luck. It is easy to note that Atkins is lined up across Quenton Nelson pre-snap. It would also be easy to mistakenly believe that Nelson is responsible for the quarterback hit.Instead, when we review the film we can identify a stunt on the second pause. This is a designed defensive play call where Atkins is tasked with slanting inside to get enough push, and keep enough attention, to allow Ryan Glasgow (#98) to twist across the quarterback’s face and pressure the quarterback.Nelson identifies the stunt and attempts to pass Atkins off to Kelly. You can see that Kelly gets rocked back onto his heels by Atkins and ends up on roller skates. He is unable to meaningfully recover and allows a hit on Luck. I want to be clear that this is a very difficult blocking assignment for interior offensive linemen, particularly with a talented defensive tackle like Atkins. However, if we’re being entirely fair here, Nelson did what he was supposed to do and even recovered quickly enough to keep Glasgow from getting to Luck. Kelly is primarily Youth T.Y. Hilton Jersey , if not solely, responsible for the quarterback hit. I would be willing to bet a lot of pesos that PFF graded this against Nelson. This should look familiar. Once again, Atkins slants to cross the face of Andrew Luck. Nelson gets a strong initial hit to relieve the pressure up the middle. Nelson identifies that Jordan Willis (#75) is attempting to stunt into his gap and get pressure on the quarterback. At this point, Atkins becomes Kelly’s responsibility and Willis becomes Nelson’s. Nelson gets back into his gap and shoves Willis wide of his target, allowing Luck to get the pass away. Kelly gets shoved wide and allows a lane for Atkins into Andrew Luck’s face. This is another tough blocking assignment and another example where the primary responsibility falls on Ryan Kelly’s shoulders. It would be easy to come into the game with the expectation that Quenton Nelson would be primarily responsible for anything Geno Atkins does in the game. If Atkins has multiple quarterback hits and a sack, it must be on Nelson. Right? As we have already seen, this is incorrect. In this play, there is another example of a stunt. This time Atkins takes an outside lane in hopes of springing a gap for Carl Lawson (#58) as he stunts to the inside. Nelson recognizes the stunt after he drives Atkins wide of the pocket and into Joe Haeg. Haeg is off-balance, as Ryan Kelly was in our earlier clip, and is never able to gain leverage on Atkins. You should note that Nelson had the quickness and strength to recover and get his arm extended to lock-out Lawson and force him wide of Luck. If Haeg is also able to win, Luck has a pocket to step into or a lane to escape. Another difficult assignment for the offensive line and another instance where PFF likely credited Nelson for giving up a sack when the bulk of the responsibility has to be on Haeg. This play is an easy illustration of one of Quenton Nelson’s biggest weaknesses and an area where he must improve. He has the tendency to swing and miss off of the line when a defender sets him up. He comes out quickly here and attempts to gain early control of the interaction with Atkins.Instead of going directly into Nelson, Atkins takes an initial side-step with his right foot and avoids getting locked out. He utilizes a spin move and counter explosion to beat Nelson inside and blow up the running play.Welcome to the NFL rookie. We have analyzed multiple examples where stunts went wrong and how it resulted in pressure http://www.coltsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-ryan-kelly-jersey , hits, or sacks on Andrew Luck. We also pointed out that a lazy viewing of a play could lead to placing blame on the shoulders of the wrong offensive lineman. This play is an example of how the offensive line should react to a stunt. Here, Nelson quickly passes off Atkins to Kelly who has his base set and is able to get leverage under his shoulder pads. Nelson neutralizes Glasgow and the play is over. This is what you want every inside stunt to look like if you’re an offensive line coach. Here is another example of winning on an inside stunt. The first example had Atkins coming over the top of Glasgow and this example has Glasgow coming over the top of Atkins. The result is the same on both plays. With continuity and experience playing next to each other, you have to hope that most inside stunts look like this. This play is an example of Nelson engaging Atkins and sticking with him throughout the entire play. He is able to keep the pocket clean and leave a big gap up and to Andrew Luck’s left to escape the pocket and get positive yards. When we compare this play to the holding penalty at the beginning of this film review, we can see that Nelson is much better prepared to handle Atkins’ hand-fighting and his attempt to pressure the quarterback. This is the only play in the film review that has someone other than Geno Atkins across from Nelson. On this play, massive nose tackle Andrew Billings (#99) gets completely neutralized. While this isn’t necessarily a spectacular piece of film, it helps to illustrate how effective Nelson was against other key rotational defensive linemen on one of the deepest and most talented lines the Colts will face this year.I saved the best for last. At first glance, this play will look like nothing spectacular. In fact, I’ll tell you that there is pretty much nothing “text book” about how this looks. However, in the NFL, the reality is that things will happen in the blink of an eye and those who are able to make split-second adjustments will separate themselves from the rest of the pack.Nelson makes it a point to give Atkins a little extra shove to help safely transition him to Haeg before releasing to pick up a stunting Carl Lawon. This extra little push nearly ends in disaster. Frankly, for the vast majority of NFL offensive linemen Joe Haeg Jersey , this is either a sack, deflected pass, or a brutal blind-side hit. Nelson is aware enough and athletic enough to turn his back and serve as a wall protecting Luck from a straight shot. He is able to get enough of a push on Lawson to knock him off track and allow Luck to release the pass.ANALYSISWhile Quenton Nelson certainly had a couple rookie moments, he did a solid job against Geno Atkins and one of the most talented defensive line groups he will face in 2018. If he had hopes for easing his way into the NFL, those were completely dashed on Sunday.Nelson was in on all 82 — 82! — offensive snaps. There were certainly some snaps where Atkins drove him back a few yards but the plays included in this film review were the ones that I felt best illustrated his performance overall. If I include the recognition that he most certainly didn’t simply own Atkins throughout the day and give him a small handicap for being a rookie, I’d give him a “B” for the entire body of work. There are a whole bunch of offensive linemen who will face Atkins this year and will head into the game hoping to be lucky enough to exit the game with a “B” grade. Not very many of them will get their wish. New coach. Familiar results.Teams with a new man in charge went 0-7 in Week 1, the worst start by a group of new head coaches in NFL history. The previous worst was 0-6 in 2001.It took Aaron Rodgers coming back from a knee injury and leading the Packers back from a 20-0 deficit to spoil Matt Nagy's debut for Chicago.Jon Gruden returned to Oakland and his Raiders had a 13-10 halftime lead before the Los Angeles Rams turned it into a rout in the second half.Matt Patricia endured the worst loss of the seven new guys when rookie Sam Darnold and the New York Jets whipped Detroit 48-17. The Lions can only hope Patricia fares better than other members of Bill Belichick's coaching tree did after leaving New England.Arizona's Steve Wilks didn't have a chance against Washington. Andrew Luck's return for the Colts didn't help Frank Reich earn a win against the Bengals.Eli Manning's pick-6 ruined Pat Shurmur's opener with the Giants. Mike Vrabel and the Titans endured long weather delays in a loss at Miami.None of the seven teams play each other this week, so 0-2 is still on the table for all the new coaches. Here's a look inside more numbers going into Week 2:SO MUCH YELLOW: The first weekend saw more penalties (255) and penalty yards (2,254) than any Week 1 since the NFL expanded to 32 teams in 2002. The Falcons led the way with 15 in an 18-12 loss to Philadelphia. The Eagles and three other teams had 11. The Steelers had 12. The Raiders had the most penalty yards with 155.SCORING OUTPUT: The 765 total points were third-most in a Week 1. The Jets and Buccaneers led the way with 48 and the Ravens had 47.TAKE IT TO THE HOUSE: The 12 return touchdowns in Week 1 were the second-most in an opening week since the 1970 merger. There were 13 in 2011. The Jets had two return touchdowns and became the third team to score a touchdown on a pass, rush, interception and punt return in an opener. The Dolphins and Titans had TD returns on kickoffs in the same game, the 10th time that's happened since the merger.DOWN TO THE FINISH: Ten of the 16 games were decided by eight points or fewer and four teams — Cincinnati Authentic J'Marcus Webb Jersey , Denver, Green Bay and Philadelphia — had comebacks in the fourth quarter.DO IT ALL: Khalil Mack had his second game with a forced fumble, fumble recovery, pick-6 and sack in his first game for the Bears. He also did it against Carolina in 2016 while with Oakland. Charles Woodson in 2009 was the only other player to do it since sacks became an official stat.SIZING THINGS UP: The Giants, Eagles and 49ers each have 13 players weighing less than 200 pounds. The Steelers have 14 players weighing more than 300 pounds.CRIMSON TIDE TAKEOVER: Alabama led the way among colleges with 44 players on active rosters for Week 1. LSU was second with 40. Florida had 37, Miami and Ohio State each had 36.MISLEADING STAT: Tampa Bay allowed the second-most yards passing (475) but it doesn't mean the Bucs have the second-worst pass defense. The Buccaneers built a 24-point lead over New Orleans and forced Drew Brees to throw nearly every down to try to catch up. Tampa Bay held on for a 48-40 win.THAT'S SO BROWNS: Since the merger, teams that are plus-five in turnover margin are 403-17-3. Doesn't help the Browns, though. They're only 2-2-1 in those instances following a tie against the Steelers.AGE MATTERS: The Raiders have the oldest team in the league with an average age of 27.6 years old. The Browns are the youngest at 25.2.FOREVER YOUNG: Tom Brady became the third player to throw a TD pass in a season-opening game at age 41 or older, joining Pro Football Hall of Famers George Blanda and Warren Moon.THE PERCENTAGES: Since the NFL went to a 16-game schedule in 1978, 52.1 percent of teams that won the season opener went to the playoffs while only 23.9 percent that lost reached the postseason.AP Pro Football Writer Josh Dubow contributed to this report.

trajectory My Youth Maliek Collins Jersey , things feel so much better after the Dallas Cowboys beat the New York Giants by a 20-13 score that made things look a lot closer than they actually were. It is a lot more fun to dive into the stats from the game to pull out some things that we can learn from. Stat sheet scouting is fraught with peril, but with a little judicious interpretation, we can still gather things to inform us going forward.6 for 6The Cowboys had six sacks of a shell shocked Eli Manning. (Isn’t it amazing how expressive his face is when things go awry?)Anyhow, as great as the game was for the pass rush (now second in the league in sacks), what is even better is how the sacks came about. Six different players got home on Manning, two defensive ends (Taco Charlton, DeMarcus Lawrence), two players from the interior of the line (Antwaun Woods, Tyrone Crawford), a linebacker (Damien Wilson), and a safety (Kavon Frazier). Having the sacks spread around is always good, much like getting the ball to a variety of receivers: The other team can’t focus on stopping your one big threat, because the threat comes from everywhere. And five of those sacks came when Dallas brought a blitz, which seems like a real departure from the way the team went about things before Kris Richard came to town. We may have seen the future, and it looks good.6 to 0In the loss to the Carolina Panthers, Dak Prescott took an Eli-level of abuse. Against the Giants, he was almost untouched unless he was running the ball for good yardage. New York could only get three hits on him the entire game when he was throwing. That was influenced a bit by the fact that the Giants don’t have near the front seven that the Panthers do, but it also shows that the Cowboys offensive line got a lot cleaned up in their week of prep for the second game. That will give Prescott a lot more confidence when he’s passing, and that is extremely helpful.64As in how many yards the deep throw to Tavon Austin covered for the touchdown just three plays into the game. It proved that Prescott could throw the ball deep, which affected the Giants’ defense for the rest of the game and opened up things for the team to amass 138 yards rushing. Once they got that big strike, the Cowboys were pretty much in control of things, even though the offense would regress until the final scoring drive to put things pretty much out of reach.6As in yards per play offensively for Dallas. (You may notice a theme to start things here.) As Bob Sturm noticed in his morning after piece at The Athletic:You may want to argue that the one long score pushed that average up, but that just means that it doesn’t matter how you get the yards. It is the efficiency that matters, and the Cowboys were much more efficient than New York, who only managed 3.8 yards per play, with much of their production coming after the Cowboys went into a prevent approach after building the lead to 20-3.2 for 2 twiceThat is from Brett Maher’s stat line, two field goals on two attempts and the same for extra points. After the miss in the season opener, it is no exaggeration that the fans breathed a collective sigh of relief at some real evidence that things will be OK without Dan Bailey (he is now going to play for the Minnesota Vikings in their indoor stadium, which should be good for him.)The new shape of the linebacking corpsHere are the key stats for the linebackers who saw action with the defense.Jaylon Smith: 10 tackles, one TFL, 84% of the defensive playsLeighton Vander Esch: 7 tackles Youth La'el Collins Jersey , 41%Sean Lee: 5 tackles, 60%Damien Wilson: 3 tackles, 1 sack, 1 QB hit, 1 pass defended, 1 forced fumble, 25%Joe Thomas: 1 tackle, 21%There’s a lot to unpack here. First, while Lee had a bit of a bounce back after his rather poor showing in the first game, he was not the workhorse we have become used to. Part of that was due to what he describes as a cramp in his hamstring, which may be a conditioning issue after he had so little work in preseason, but it also may be an early signal that Smith is becoming the new standard bearer for the group - and that is still such a remarkable story after so many thought Dallas had wasted that second-round pick on him. Vander Esch is starting to show he was not a wasted pick in the first, either, with good production on fairly limited snaps. It can still be argued that he was still a bit too costly in terms of draft capital, but he now has a definite “future starter” look to him. And Wilson, who also performed poorly in Carolina, had the biggest rebound of all, with a ridiculously productive day while only being on the field a quarter of the time. The defense is looking very solid from front to back.Speaking of the defense’s other unitsThe secondary may be a bit shallow, but they have come through big. After keeping Cam Newton from any long completions, they largely shut down Odell Beckham Jr. and didn’t let Saquon Barkley or Evan Engram do any significant damage either. Chidobe Awuzie and Kavon Frazier were on the field for all the defensive play, Byron Jones and Jeff Heath each only missed one after each was shaken up a bit, and Anthony Brown saw the field for 74% of the plays as the nickle corner. These guys are balling. And the defensive line is, as well. In addition to the three sacks, they amassed 11 tackles, 6 TFLs, 6 QB hits, and Charlton’s fumble recovery. But not all is perfectThere is still room for improvement. Dallas only converted 3 of 10 third downs. They had six penalties for 47 yards, which wiped out a couple of third down conversions. And Barkley evaded the first man to get to him on almost every play, which is partly a testament to his elusiveness with his perfectly timed spin moves, but also something that needs improvement. After the first couple of series, Prescott made very few attempts to go deep with his passes. And Elliott Youth Antwaun Woods Jersey , while effective, only had 78 yards rushing, something the team really needs him to improve.Still, overall, the stats bear out that this was a convincing and badly-needed win. And it brings us to the most important stat of all:1-1, and tied for the NFC East lead. BUFFALO (0-2) at MINNESOTA (1-0-1)Sunday, 1 p.m. EDT, CBSOPENING LINE - Vikings by 16RECORD VS.
