Well Youth Keanu Neal Jersey , the Atlanta Falcons are always good for at least one roster surprise a season. In 2018, it’s the decision to keep UDFA LB Richard Jarvis on their final count. Jarvis plays on the strongside for Atlanta and could effectively be considered De’Vondre Campbell’s backup now. He was a standout at Brown where he found his career as a pass rusher and made his way to Atlanta in April as an undrafted guy. He must’ve had a heck of a summer without a lot of us keying in on it, though he did notch a sack in the team’s unfortunate scrum with the Dolphins Thursday. He also got solid special teams playing time in the last couple of games. Our head honcho Dave Choate thought he might make the practice squad and had a feeling the team liked him. The special teams ability certainly helps. If he’s the main SAM backup, he might be active on game days this year, helping out in that capacity. For those mourning the loss of LB Jonathan Celestin (for now), think about Jarvis’ flexibility to play on the strong side. Celestin filled niches the team already had filled, more or less. They could bring him back to join the practice squad, though he’s probably going to be claimed on the waiver wire by a team who can use him now Authentic Julio Jones Jersey , given his strong preseason play. We’ll see how Jarvis figures into Atlanta’s plans for 2018 and beyond, but for now, consider him the surprise of cut day.If you could take one Buccaneer, who are you adding to the Falcons? Last week proved to be a tough call for Falcons fans asked to select the one player they would add to Atlanta’s roster from Pittsburgh, though I bet it wasn’t such a difficult call after Cam Hayward and T.J. Watt made Matt Ryan’s life miserable. This week, though, the call is once again a difficult one. That’s because the Falcons are playing the Buccaneers, one of the most bewildering teams in the NFL. Every year Matt Ryan Jersey , Tampa Bay seems to add fresh talent to their roster, and every year, they seem to come up well short of actually doing anything with it. This week is still very much up in the air—the Bucs are 2-2 and only have one awful game thus far—but it’s fair to wonder if a Mike Smith defense in 2018 can do enough to keep them in games. Still, there’s talent here. You could take a hard look at Ali Marpet to help on the interior of this struggling offensive line, or Demar Dotson and Donovan Smith if you wanted a salve at tackle, though neither player distinguished themselves against a nasty Bears pass rush in Week 4. There’s receiver Mike Evans, who would turn this receiving corps into even more of a ridiculous asset than it already is. And then there’s young, useful defensive linemen like Noah Spence and Vita Vea who would at least give Atlanta upside and talent along a shaky front http://www.authenticsatlantafalcons.com/cheap-matt-bosher-jersey , even if neither has done much to this point. Personally, I’d be tempted to go with Marpet. The Falcons have an increasing, uncomfortable number of questions about their offensive line heading into next season, and getting one of the quietly better young interior linemen in the NFC would help take care of that for a few seasons. But the smart pick might still be Gerald McCoy, who remains one of the most potent defensive tackles in the game despite his advancing age, and a nice addition to a defensive line that needs help right now. Who would you pick?

The Steelers are hosting the Falcons this week Black De'Vondre Campbell Jersey , and to help us figure out what’s up with Pittsburgh, we asked five questions of Behind the Steel Curtain’s Jeff Hartman. We hope you enjoy his not terribly encouraging answers. Dave Choate: The Steelers offense still looks scary, but it’s a little surprising how Antonio Brown’s season has gone thus far. Will he have better luck against this Falcons defense, and is it just sort of a fluke?Jeff Hartman: You get the feeling the Roethlisberger to Brown connection is just waiting to explode. When you watch the tape, this isn’t about Brown. Brown is still seeing coverages roll over to his side, and double teams happening as much as they ever have. The difference is Roethlisberger. He hasn’t had the best start and is coming off a really bad game. Roethlisberger rarely has back-to-back duds, so I would expect a bounce back game in Week 5. This would also mean improved numbers for Brown as well.Dave Choate: Minus Le’Veon Bell, should the Falcons fear your ground game? Any success throwing passes to running backs, since that has been killing Atlanta of late? Jeff Hartman: There isn’t much to fear because the Steelers have been playing from behind almost every week, meaning they are having to throw their way back into games. With that said, the offensive line is still one of the best in the league when healthy, and James Conner has proven capable. He isn’t Le’Veon Bell, but he certainly is capable as both a runner and receiver. Dave Choate: The Steelers defense does not look good on paper at the moment. Who is worth watching out for, and if you’re the Steelers, what is your plan for keeping Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley in check? Jeff Hartman: The Steelers defense doesn’t just look bad on paper, they don’t look good on the field either. If you are going to focus on a few players, they would reside in the front 7. Primarily Cam Heyward, Stephon Tuitt, T.J. Watt and Bud Dupree. If the Steelers can get pressure on Matt Ryan, that is how they plan on slowing down the passing attack. If they can’t get to Ryan, expect Ryan to have any number of receiving options open for him to throw to.Dave Choate: Mind giving us one player on either side of the ball the average NFL fan isn’t familiar with who might impact the outcome of this game? Jeff Hartman: After the stiff-arm heard round the world, Vance McDonald’s name has become a little more known, but Ben Roethlisberger has developed a good connection with the big tight end. There is a good chance McDonald’s role in the offense continues to grow, if he can stay on the field. Defensively Youth Matt Ryan Jersey , keep an eye on whether Vince Williams, ILB, plays or not. Williams is a downhill thumper, but is dealing with a hamstring injury. If he isn’t in the lineup, a mixture of Tyler Matakevich, L.J. Fort and UDFA rookie Matthew Thomas could all pitch in at a position already ridiculously thin.Dave Choate: Who wins this game, and can the Steelers emerge from the AFC North? Jeff Hartman: I still have faith in this Steelers team. No one expected the defense to be a Top 5 unit, but no one also expected it to be this bad. I don’t believe the poor play is the new norm, but a mean between their best and worst is the new expectation. On offense, there have been some hiccups, and they miss Le’Veon Bell terribly. However, it will be tough road to climb to win the AFC North for a third straight time. Three divisional games out of their next 4 will be a true measuring stick for their spot in the division. In a battle of under-performing teams, I like the Steelers at home, just because I know how they rarely play poorly in consecutive weeks -- especially at home. Steelers - 38Falcons - 35Atlanta Falcons fantasy stud and dud from Week 4 Another gut-punch loss suffered, after the offense once again did more than enough to win a football game. Since 1940, there have been only four instances of an NFL team scoring 36+ points at home without committing a turnover and still losing — half of those losses belong to the Atlanta Falcons, last week and this week.We have a lot of great content analyzing the game here at The Falcoholic, but in this article, we’ll look at things strictly from a fantasy football perspective. Let’s look at Atlanta’s top fantasy performer and biggest fantasy disappointment from Week 4’s defeat against the Cincinnati Bengals.Fantasy Stud/Dud 2018 History:Past Studs: Julio Jones (1), Matt Ryan (1), Calvin Ridley (1)Past Duds: Devonta Freeman (1), Mohamed Sanu (1), Atlanta D/ST (1)Stud - Matt RyanStat Line: 419 passing yards, 3 passing touchdowns Youth Keanu Neal Jersey ,0 interceptions, 2 carries, 5 rushing yards: 29.26 standard league/PPR pointsMatt Ryan looks reborn in year two under Steve Sarkisian, in comparison to last season and minus that first effort. He’s been an absolute general, leading a well-oiled offensive machine up and down the field nearly every time he’s touched the ball the past three weeks.Ryan was once again brilliant on Sunday, throwing for 419 yards (a season high) and three touchdown passes — two of which were to rookie sensation Calvin Ridley, who deserves an honorable mention shoutout in the column this week. Ryan did everything necessary to win this game, but was yet again betrayed by his defense. The Boston College product has entered must-start territory in season-long fantasy football leagues. This is beginning to look like a reincarnation of the 2016 Falcons offense, and even if that doesn’t lead to real life wins due to the defense, it’ll lead to plenty of fantasy football wins for people who have Matt Ryan in their lineup.DudAustin Hooper: 1 catch, 17 receiving yards: 1.7 standard league points, 2.7 PPR pointsWhile it was very tempting to hand this (dis)honor to the defense once again, the defense shouldn’t have cost anybody their fantasy matchup because nobody should even have the Atlanta Falcons’ D/ST rostered at this point.Austin Hooper was a clear miss in this week’s start/sit advice column. I thought that, with how much the Bengals have struggled in covering TEs, Hooper would be a good start, but he wasn’t. The Stanford product only had one catch, and while it did go for a crucial first down conversion on third and long, fantasy owners who started him were burned.Ryan didn’t look Hooper’s way very much at all in this one. The one catch also meant disappointment in PPR leagues, where light yardage can sometimes be overcome. Unfortunately for Hooper, backup TE Logan Paulsen scavenged an early touchdown with his only catch of the game.Austin Hooper is a sporadic fantasy option, who will have his moments at times this season; those moments will have some poor outings mixed in, however. It’ll be difficult to predict how well Hooper will do in any given week, making him more and more of a blindfolded dart throw.

can Atlanta slow down the Steel City’s attack? Well. Here we are. Another week and another injury to the Atlanta defense. This week Atlanta Falcons T-Shirt , Grady Jarrett joined the list of defensive starters to miss at least one game this season. Add to that the fact that the Pittsburgh Steelers and their high-powered offense are waiting for their crack at the Falcons, and one can understand the lack of faith of some Falcons fans. Luckily, the Falcons offense is adding Devonta Freeman to an already dangerous offense, making the defense’s job a little easier, hopefully. Does Atlanta have a chance to slow the Steelers down? Sure. Do I think they do it? Let’s find out. In the trenchesThe Falcons are going to struggle this game—I just want to warn you. Relying on Michael Bennett, Deadrin Senat, and Takkarist McKinley is not the best recipe for success against one of the most talented offenses in the league. Fortunately, the Steelers have struggled to run the ball so far this season which will put less of a burden on the depleted Atlanta defensive line. However, I expect to see a steady dose of James Connor to take advantage of those injuries in the trenches. Once again, it will come down to McKinley and Vic Beasley getting pressure on Ben Roethlisberger to limit the Steelers’ success in the passing game. This season has been a rough one for Big Ben but the Falcons have a habit of getting struggling quarterbacks back on track. Based off Pro Football Focus ratings, the Pittsburgh offensive line has been pretty average overall, but each player has a much higher pass block rating than they do run blocking. We’re talking anywhere from a 15-to-20-point difference in the two grades. The only consistently poor grade belongs to center Maurkice Pouncey. If Atlanta were healthy and at full strength, I would like their chances to at least slow the Steelers down in the running game and to generate consistent pressure on Roethlisberger. As it stands right now, though?I think the lack of depth along the line of scrimmage hurts Atlanta as the game goes on, and the Falcons struggle to get Roethlisberger to the ground consistently. Advantage: Pittsburgh SteelersSkill positionsHere we have the most entertaining matchups of the game. On one side: Desmond Trufant, Robert Alford, Damontae Kazee, and Brian Poole; on the other side: Antonio Brown, Juju Smith-Schuster Atlanta Falcons Hats , James Washington, and Vance McDonald. Throw in James Connor and DeVondre Campbell and the two teams should be pretty competitive—on paper, at least. However, one of the biggest issues for Atlanta—other than injuries—is the lack of production from their big name players like Trufant and Beasley. If Trufant plays well and can limit the amount of explosive plays that Brown has, things will improve greatly. This offense is stacked, though. I may feel alright about Trufant or Alford, but I don’t feel great about both of them limiting both Brown and Smith-Schuster. McDonald has never been an elite tight end in this league but he has played pretty well in Pittsburgh. His best asset in this game will be his experience against the younger Kazee, plus the amount of help the rest of his teammates demand. This is a game that Keanu Neal, Deion Jones, and Ricardo Allen make a huge impact in and potentially thrive in—fast, explosive style of play that lends itself to their talents and ability. However, without those guys, this skeleton crew of a defense is going to have to pray for some turnovers and some Steelers mistakes to slow this offense down. Advantage: Pittsburgh SteelersConclusionThe Falcons still have some talented players on defense and they still have a solid coaching staff, but this group doesn’t have enough to truly stop a powerful offense like the one they will see on Sunday. If Beasley and McKinley can each have big games, get a strip sack or two, and make Ben uncomfortable the entire game, it will swing things in a major way for the Falcons. Similarly, if the Falcons can take advantage of Roethlisberger’s carelessness and make him toss an interception, Atlanta has a much better chance at slowing this Steelers attack down.I don’t see all of those things happening and I don’t see the Falcons suddenly flipping a switch and becoming a great defense. Like I said a few weeks ago Atlanta Falcons Hoodie , this isn’t a scheme issue or an X’s and O’s issue—it’s a personnel and “Jimmies and Joes” issue. Atlanta struggles on defense and relies on the offense to win the game once again. Advantage: Pittsburgh SteelersBy the Numbers stats preview: Falcons vs. Steelers Week 5 is here, and the Falcons are in a really tough spot. Sitting at 1-3, Atlanta’s playoff chances rest on this week’s road matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers (1-2-1). Both of these teams are in desperate straits, and both appear to be suffering from the same issues: a defense that is losing them games despite elite offensive production. The winner of this game keeps hope alive—for now—while the loser likely has to re-evaluate their season.Let’s take a closer look at how Atlanta and Pittsburgh matchup statistically on offense and defense heading into Week 5.OFFENSEStatisticFalconsSteelersStatisticFalconsSteelersThe Falcons have been among the NFL’s best offenses in 2018, but that hasn’t translated to many wins thus far. Atlanta is 6th in total points, 7th in total yards, and 4th in yards per play. In the passing game, the team is 6th in yards, 3rd in yards per attempt, and T-8th in passing TDs. On the ground, the Falcons are 21st in yards, T-19th in yards per carry, and T-6th in rushing TDs. Atlanta has been great on third down, converting 48% of their attempts (good for 4th). The team has also protected the football well in 2018, and has a +2 turnover margin through Week 4.Pittsburgh is in a very similar situation to Atlanta: a very good offense that hasn’t been able to overcome a terrible defense. The Steelers are T-11th in total points, 6th in total yards, and 10th in yards per play. Through the air, the team is 3rd in yards, 12th in yards per attempt Youth Customized Atlanta Falcons Jerseys , and T-11th in passing TDs. In the ground game, Pittsburgh is 29th in yards, T-25th in yards per carry, and T-6th in rushing TDs. The Steelers have really struggled on third down, converting only 31% of their attempts (28th). They’ve also struggled with turnovers, carrying a -2 margin into Week 5.Advantage: FalconsDEFENSEStatisticFalconsSteelersStatisticFalconsSteelersAtlanta’s defense has been an absolute trainwreck outside of Week 1 due to an unprecedented string of injuries. The Falcons are 30th in points allowed, 28th in total yards allowed, and 24th in yards per play. Defending the pass, the team is 25th in yards, somehow T-8th in yards per attempt, and T-24th in passing TDs allowed. Against the run, Atlanta is 26th in yards, 29th in yards per carry, and 31st in rushing TDs allowed. The Falcons’ defense has been abysmal on third down, allowing a ridiculous 51% of attempts to be converted (31st). They’ve also been below average at generating sacks, with only 8 on the season (T-22nd).The Steelers’ defense looks about the same as Atlanta’s—except they don’t have any injury excuses to fall back on. Pittsburgh is 26th in points allowed, 30th in total yards allowed, and 25th in yards per play. In the passing game, the team is 29th in yards www.falconsauthorizedshops.com , T-25th in yards per attempt, and 31st in passing TDs allowed. On the ground, the Steelers are T-22nd in yards, T-18th in yards per carry, and T-7th in rushing TDs allowed. Pittsburgh has played well on third down, allowing only 37% of attempts to be converted (13th). They’ve also generated a lot of sacks, with 13 through four weeks (T-4th).Advantage: SteelersAnalysisThis looks like the perfect setup for another shootout. The schedule makers did Atlanta no favors with this early stretch of games, and this injury-ravaged and inexperienced defense has been eviscerated by the likes of Drew Brees and Andy Dalton. Now they get Ben Roethlisberger and the loaded Steelers’ offense on the road. The Falcons’ defense isn’t likely to make much headway in this game, but they’ll have to find a way to make just enough plays to help Atlanta come away with a road win.We can count on Ryan and the offense putting up points against a Pittsburgh defense that is hemorrhaging almost as many points and yards as Atlanta’s. But when you get into these types of back-and-forth shootouts, you learn the cold hard statistical fact that one-score games are often coin flips. The Falcons have come up tails twice in a row now, but that luck should turn around at some point. Will it be on Sunday against the Steelers? If you have any desire to see Atlanta competing in the 2018 playoffs, you’d better hope so.This game really is a coin flip. Both of these teams will be playing for their playoff lives, with the Falcons sitting at 1-3 and the Steelers at 1-2-1. The winner keeps hope alive for at least one more week, while the loser gets an early start to #DraftSzn. I love the draft as much as anyone, but can we put it off for at least a few more weeks? Please, Falcons.Overall Advantage: PushWhat are your thoughts on the matchup between the Falcons and Steelers? Any particular position groups that you’ll be watching closely on Sunday?

2 preseason game schedule?Cheap Kenny Golladay Jersey The Detroit Lions were one of the lucky ones. Despite an overall unwatchable preseason performance, the Lions escaped the exhibition season without any truly devastating injuries. Other teams weren’t as lucky. So like every single year, discussion arose about shortening—or even ending—the preseason in the future. The most common solution to this perceived problem is fairly simple: Shorten the preseason by two games and add those games to the regular season, creating an 18-game schedule. Cowboys and referee owner Jerry Jones publicly pushed for this move last week.“My solution is real simple, cut back on preseason games,” Jones said on a local radio station. “Have one at each team’s home, play a couple of them and then add two games to the regular season, which I’ve been a proponent of for several years. That’s a better equity or a better way of players using what they bring to the table, their talents, their skills, their professional time in pro sports. That’ll give them a bigger pay day that’s fair. The other thing it does is it certainly gives our fans what we all think they deserve and that is a competitive game.”The idea is admittedly intriguing, since no NFL fans enjoy the preseason, but is Jerry brushing over some unintended consequences? Today’s Question of the Day is:Would you approve of an 18-game regular season, two-game preseason? My answer: No, I don’t think I would. I understand preseason football is unwatchable Ricky Wagner Jersey , and I hate that season ticket holders have to pay for those games. That last part should absolutely be fixed. But if you’re forcing players to play two more games a season—and 12.5 percent increase in games—you better expect to bump players salary by that number.Jerry Jones argues that an 18-game schedule is safer, because his studies show that injury rate is higher in the preseason than the regular season, which I’m honestly hesitant to believe. Let’s be honest, Jones has plenty motive to straight-out lie here, because he stands to benefit from two more regular season games that will undoubtedly bring in more money for him. But even if what Jones says it’s true, the chances of starters getting injured in a season undoubtedly increase with a longer schedule, and that’s why the players would almost certainly never go for it.If you want to shorten the preseason, that’s something that I think almost everyone can get behind. But adding those two games to the regular season is just a transparent cash grab. I say nay.Detroit Lions final bubble watch: Who’s in and who’s out? Now that the preseason is over, it’s time to look at the Detroit Lions roster bubble. It seems like the bubble is bigger this year than any other year, and, unfortunately, that’s not a good thing. There haven’t been any depth players that have played consistent enough to warrant a “lock” status, and therefore there are probably 5-10 roster spot open for nearly 20 different players. So here is our staff’s thoughts on the players remaining on the roster bubble and their status going into cut weekend.Final bubble watch: OffensePlayerJeremy ReismanKent Lee PlatteJustin SimonRyan MathewsMike PaytonAlex RenoChris PerfettHamza BaccoucheMansur ShaheenJohn WhiticarKyle YostChangePlayerJeremy ReismanKent Lee PlatteJustin SimonRyan MathewsMike PaytonAlex RenoChris PerfettHamza BaccoucheMansur ShaheenJohn WhiticarKyle YostChangeBiggest winners: Kenny Wiggins (+4), Joe Dahl (+2)Biggest losers: Leo Koloamatangi (-5), Corey Robinson (-3)Unsurprisingly http://www.lionscheapshop.com/cheap-authentic-christian-jones-jersey , there was a lot of changes along the offensive line, as the Lions shook up their lineup yet again in the preseason finale. Wesley Johnson (-1) and Leo Koloamatangi (-5) played a ton of snaps on Thursday, indicating their status may not be safe. Also, Corey Robinson’s injury has some people jumping ship, even though he was a unanimous in for nearly all of training camp. Elsewhere, a few people have Michael Roberts on the outside looking in after getting more action in the preseason finale than breakout tight end Hakeem Valles.Final bubble watch: DefensePlayerJeremy ReismanKent Lee PlatteJustin SimonRyan MathewsMike PaytonAlex RenoChris PerfettHamza BaccoucheMansur ShaheenJohn WhiticarKyle YostChangePlayerJeremy ReismanKent Lee PlatteJustin SimonRyan MathewsMike PaytonAlex RenoChris PerfettHamza BaccoucheMansur ShaheenJohn WhiticarKyle YostChangeNew to Bubble Watch: Anthony Zettel (trending down), Trevor Bates (trending up)Biggest winners: Jeremiah Valoaga (+2), Freddie Bishop (+1)Biggest losers: Jonathan Freeny (-4), Alex Barrett (-2)Surprisingly little change in the defensive layout from our staff this week. After missing last week’s preseason game, Valoaga apparently won over some of our staff with the 20 snaps he played against the Browns. Meanwhile, the fact that Jonathan Freeny nearly played for the entire game sent a clear message that he shouldn’t be as comfortable as most of us expected. Now only seven of 11 staff members have him on the inside.Despite playing for a ton of snaps in the preseason finale, the staff still believes Anthony Zettel is in... except for Justin Simon. Conversely, after sitting Thursday night, we all think Miles Killebrew has nothing to worry about and is a consensus IN.

‘It’s nothing serious going on’ As Detroit Lions starting right guard T.J. Lang continues to miss practice http://www.lionscheapshop.com/cheap-authentic-christian-jones-jersey , concern is growing that the veteran offensive lineman could be dealing with a serious injury. Lang had an injury-riddled season last year, and at 30 years old, his body isn’t getting any fresher. But Lang met with the media briefly on Tuesday and tried to put the concerns to rest. “All I can really say is that it’s nothing serious going on,” Lang said. “Just kind of being cautious right now with the training staff, trainers, doctors. My plan this year, right now, is take it day-by-day, be healthy and do my best to be out there for Week 1.”Lang added, “If it were the regular season right now, I’d be out there.”Last year, Lang was a regular on the Lions’ injury report as he struggled through injuries to the back, foot and a concussion. He was also coming off hip surgery entering the 2017 season http://www.lionscheapshop.com/cheap-authentic-legarrette-blount-jersey , causing him to miss OTAs and minicamp. But back in April, Lang was pumped about entering 2018 surgery-free for the first time in three years.“I’m not making any big predictions here, but this is the first time I’ve done an offseason workout in three years, so I’m definitely excited about that,” Lang said at the time. But now that he’s been sidelined for over a week now, Lang admits it’s been a little frustrating not being out there with the guys yet again.“Anytime the plans kind of change, I think there’s obviously a little bit of frustration,” Lang said. One possible source of that frustration is missing out on time to build chemistry within the unit. Though Lang has played between Rick Wagner and Graham Glasgow before, Glasgow spent most of his 2017 season at left guard, not center. Still, Lang isn’t worried about it.“I’ve played a lot of football with Rick and Graham. So I do my best to simulate what we do on the field in the meetings in the locker room,” Lang said. “So we do a good job of communicating, even when I’m not out there.”As for missing out on preseason games? Lang isn’t sweating that Cheap Marvin Jones Jr Jersey , either. “Mentally, it goes a long ways [to be out there] for preparation for the season, but at the same time, I’ve been doing this for a long time,” Lang said. “I can find ways to simulate that, even if I don’t play this week or next week. I don’t think I’ll have any trouble getting off to a good start.” The Detroit Lions have won two straight and three of four in large part because they finally have a running game.In Sunday's 32-21 victory over the Miami Dolphins, the Lions churned out 248 yards on the ground, their highest single-game rushing output in 21 years. The Lions averaged 7.1 yards per carry. Kerryon Johnson ran for 158 yards, including a 71-yard burst in the first quarter. It was the first time all season that the Lions had executed more run plays than pass plays in a game."I think just as a team it makes it a lot better for everyone," Johnson said. "I feel like (Lions quarterback) Matt (Stafford) feels like he doesn't have as much pressure on him. Our O-line knows what they're capable of doing. Our defense knows that we can go on sustained drives."I think as a team it just helps everybody mentally, and obviously it helps us win games."It was their best rushing performance since the Lions ran for 249 yards in a 32-10 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Nov. 23, 1997. Barry Sanders rambled for 216 yards in that game. It was also the first time Detroit averaged at least 7.0 yards per carry on at least 35 attempts since Nov. 24, 1991.Johnson had 100 rushing yards in the first half Cheap Darius Slay Jr Jersey , becoming the first Lions player to do so since Reggie Bush on Sept. 29, 2013. Johnson joined Isaiah Crowell as the only NFL running backs to rush for 100 yards in the first half of a game this season. Johnson also became only the fifth rookie running back to have multiple 100-yard rushing games in Lions history. This is the same team that ran for just 39 yards in a season-opening 48-17 loss to the New York Jets."We're always going to try to be balanced the best we can," Lions coach Matt Patricia said. "We want to be able to run it if we have to and throw it when we have to do that. It was good to see the run game be productive.""Look, when you go out and you can execute and do it the right way, it looks really good. We've seen it when it doesn't look so good the other way."Detroit is 11th in the NFL in rushing yardage, averaging 122.3 yards per game. The Lions were last in the league in rushing in 2017, averaging 76.3 yards per game. That forced the team too often to be reliant on Stafford's arm. He finished fourth among QBs in pass attempts last season. This season, Stafford is 19th in the NFL in pass attempts."As an offensive lineman, you know if you can establish the run game, you don't have to sit there and drop back and pass the ball 50 times," Lions left tackle Taylor Decker said. "That's part of the game, but that's not always the most fun for an offensive lineman."Run-blocking, where they get to attack the defense Cheap Matthew Stafford Jersey , is a far more enjoyable experience for the offensive linemen."When you're able to establish a run game, that opens up everything else for us," Decker said. "It's going to open up our play-action pass. That's going to open up our passing on third down, because we're going to have a lot more calls to go to."As good as their ground game has been, the Lions believe that there are more yards to be gained."There are definitely plays that we see on film that we could have done a better job," Patricia said. "We could have blocked better, we could have identified better, to get that extra yardage that was left out on the field."

And I'm sure he's gonna have opportunities to go against me."For his part, Ramsey has never backed down from his comments."I don't live my life with regrets, man. Things happen. I said what I said," Ramsey said after his comments went viral."I love the competitiveness. I love the trash talking. I love the challenge. I love literally everything about the game, so I have no regrets. ... Hey, I'm me: Unapologetic."Ramsey's teammates said his often-biting words are what make Ramsey the player he is.Trash talking is, "part of his game," defensive lineman Calais Campbell said."I tell him all the time 'Man, hey, whatever you do just make sure that we're gonna back you up...We're gonna be there for you Youth Tom Brady Jersey ,'" Campbell said. "But I have nothing but confidence in Jalen. He's a very smart guy ... Very passionate. So I won't ever try to contain somebody and not let him be himself."Ramsey was a first-team All-Pro in his second year in the league last season, but had a relatively quiet AFC title game against New England. He finished with just two tackles as Brady engineered late-game heroics to erase a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit.Ramsey said recently that he thinks the biggest reason for the Jaguars losing that game was that they became too conservative.Of the talent of Brady, who exploited that conservatism, Ramsey told "GQ" magazine that he puts him in the category of quarterbacks who don't "suck.""I never want to suck," Brady said with a smile Wednesday. "So I never want to be in that category."Brady is expecting "an emotional environment" on Sunday against a defense that he considers one of the best in the AFC. He added that he thinks Ramsey is "a great young player." Brady said a little trash talk is part of the game."I think it raises everybody's game, as long as it doesn't get to point where you do something stupid," Brady said. "I think emotion in football is critical."Jacksonville coach Doug Marrone said that any conversations he's had with Ramsey about his tendency to speak his mind would remain private. But Marrone was also quick to offer praise for both Gronkowski and Brady, whom he said were possibly the best to play the game at their positions. He said he isn't concerned about Ramsey's comments providing the Patriots bulletin board material."I mean, it is what it is," Marrone said. "We're all men and we've got to stand by what we say and you've got to speak for yourself and be able to do that. We've just got to go out there and play."Said Gronkowski: "I feel like this game you gotta keep your head on a swivel and be ready for anything."Notes: Rookie RB Sony Michel spoke to reporters for the first time since injuring his knee during training camp. He was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday and said he was "doing all I can do" to be back in uniform for Sunday's game. "My mindset is to prepare as if I'm playing," he said. Michel, who was taken 31st overall in April's draft, is one of two Patriot first-round picks on the mend. Tackle Isaiah Wynn (selected 23rd overall) was lost for the season after suffering a torn Achilles tendon in the preseason. RB Rex Burkhead remains in the concussion protocol after taking a blow to the head in last week's opener.Ex-Patriots defender Rob Ninkovich thinks that Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is “just a bigger receiver” that “doesn’t want to block” The upcoming game between the New England Patriots and the Kansas City Chiefs offers plenty of intrigue. One of the most talked about battles is one that does not even take place simultaneously: the one between tight ends Rob Gronkowski and Travis Kelce. The two Pro Bowlers are arguably the two best players in the NFL at their position – but there is little doubt about who is number one http://www.thepatriotsfootballauthentic.com/shaq-mason-jersey-authentic , at least when you ask Rob Ninkovich. The former Patriots defender, who retired last offseason, recently joined XTRA 1360 in San Diego to talk about Gronkowski and Kelce. For Ninkovich, however, it isn’t much of a debate about who is the better tight end between the two: “I would take Gronk,” the two-time world champion told hosts Nick Hardwick and Judson Richards. “I’ve played against Kelce, and I’ve thrown him around like he’s a little doll.”Ninkovich continued criticizing Kelce’s abilities as a blocker: “The guy doesn’t want to block. When you’re a tight end and you don’t want to block, you’re not really a tight end.” But despite the alleged deficiencies when it comes to blocking – and those allegations have some merit –, Kelce has been a productive player. Last regular season alone, he caught 83 passes for 1,038 and eight touchdowns.Catching passes is only one part of a tight end’s profile, though, as Ninkovich pointed out during his radio appearance. “I would take Rob based on the fact that he can block Womens Cordarrelle Patterson Jersey ,” the ex-linebacker said. “You see him running wham blocks, and you see him running all the different types of route combinations, plus motioning in to crack people. He’s willing and able to do a lot of things that a true tight end does well, and he does it exceptionally well.”Ninkovich continued by calling Gronkowski the best tight end to ever play the game – and his blocking abilities were a big reason for the defender feeling this way. Kelce, meanwhile, was labeled differently. “Kelce is just a bigger receiver. That guy doesn’t want to block,” Ninkovich said before adding that despite not playing in over a year, he still felt as if he could easily beat the Chiefs’ tight end in a run block situation right now.But no matter Kelce’s blocking abilities or the name of his position, one thing still remains unchanged: he is a dangerous player in the passing game, and one Kansas City knows how to use. The Patriots defense will need to find a way to slow him down on Sunday – no matter if he is treated as a tight end or a wide receiver.

Before most teams trimmed their roster to 53 players on Saturday http://www.thelionsfootballauthentic.com/glover-quin-jersey-authentic , the Chicago Bears shook the NFL world by trading for former Defensive Player of the Year Khalil Mack. Not only was it shocking to see the Oakland Raiders let Mack go, even though they made it very clear they had no intentions of extending him, but to see the Chicago Bears send a couple of first-round picks their way was crazy. These are the kind of trades that only happen every decade or so. ESPN’s Adam Schefter was the first to break the exact trade terms of the agreement:So even though the Bears gave up two first-round picks for Mack, the net total was actually a little less than that. They got a second and potential fifth-round pick back, while only sending a third and sixth away.Of course, that was just the beginning. After the trade was over, the Bears made Mack the highest paid defensive player in NFL history:Now looking at this from the Detroit Lions point of view, this is obviously all horrible news. A divisional rival just got one of the best defensive players in the league and will have him around for the better half of a decade. The Lions, meanwhile, have easily the worst front seven in the division and it just got even further behind after this move. So today’s Question of the Day is:Should the Lions have made the trade for Khalil Mack?My answer: Now that we know the exact price for Mack, we can actually debate whether the Lions should have made this move. A month ago, I asked Pride of Detroit readers if they’d trade two first-round picks and Ezekiel Ansah for Mack, and 58 percent of you said no. Here were my thoughts at the time:So considering this trade is actually less than that, I would’ve been completely fine with the Lions doing it. But the question remains whether they Lions could have done this. Because the Bears offered him an extension, Mack is still on the final year of his former contract, which comes with a $13.8 million cap hit. The Lions don’t currently have the cap space for that, but they likely could have worked around that if they really wanted to. The real trick would be trying to fit Mack’s extension into future salary caps. For each of the six years on his new deal, Mack Will carry a cap hit between $22.3 million and $24.55 million. Though the Bears have an easy out after the 2022 season, that’s still a lot of cap to be spending on a defensive player. If the Lions were to do a similar deal, it would mean no more Golden Tate, no more Ezekiel Ansah, and they’d have a hard time maintaining their offensive line beyond 2019. T.J. Lang, Graham Glasgow and Taylor Decker are all potential free agents in 2020, though the Lions have a fifth-year option for Decker. All that being said, the Lions’ lack of a pass rush is clearly going to hurt this team in 2018, and there’s no clear plan for the future. Mack would have put those concerns to bed in one fell swoop. Instead, the Lions are left sitting on their hands while the only team they were consistently beating in the division looks like they may have overtaken Detroit in one offseason. Your turn.2018 Fantasy Football guide: How to draft Detroit Lions players With Week 1 of the NFL season rapidly approaching, so too are fantasy football drafts. No matter how well or poorly 2017 went http://www.thelionsfootballauthentic.com/sylvester-williams-jersey-authentic , a new season offers a new chance to construct the perfect roster on the way to a championship run. Instead of focusing on all 32 teams, today’s post takes a look at the skill players in Detroit and which Lions to keep an eye on during fantasy drafts. Fantasy scoring assumes six-point passing touchdowns and a point per reception; average draft position (ADP) comes from fantasypros.com and assumes a 12-team league.QuarterbackMatthew Stafford (Current ADP: QB10)Perhaps no player in fantasy better describes “safe but boring” better than Matthew Stafford. Though Stafford is one of the most exciting quarterbacks on the field, his fantasy performances rarely hit too high or too low. In 2017 he had just one start during the first 16 weeks above 30 points and just one start below 10 points, bringing him to a QB7 finish. The age-old wisdom of drafting a quarterback late remains true, and Stafford is an excellent candidate to snag well after the rest of your league has already reached for a signal caller. With an ADP of 99th, look to take Stafford after filling out your running back and wide receiver positions.Running backKerryon Johnson (Current ADP: RB30)Balancing the hype of a rookie running back and a crowded backfield is one of the toughest challenges in fantasy drafting, and Kerryon Johnson lands right in the middle of these uncertainties. His talent is undeniable, and the fact that he was drafted in the second round is a big plus, but with a new head coach in Detroit, his usage remains a mystery.Though Johnson is primed for a solid career with the Lions, pump the brakes a bit for Year 1. He is a versatile back who may be able to do it all, but he is sharing the backfield with a red zone bruiser and a third-down specialist. He may dominate the touches between the 20s, but his fantasy ceiling does have a limit. Johnson is going as the 30th running back off the board, but this seems five to ten spots too high.LeGarrette Blount (Current ADP: RB47)After a top-10 finish in 2016 with New England, LeGarrette Blount had a much reduced role in Philadelphia last season. His role with the Lions is no less complicated, and his RB45 finish in 2017 seems like a good baseline for his expectations this year. He does have the benefit of being the veteran at the position, but that may only take him so far.The Lions would not have signed Blount if they did not plan on involving him in the offense, but his role could be limited to goal line and short-yardage situations. This may still result in a handful of touchdowns, but it will be a struggle for Blount to ever be startable. He should not come off the board until the last few rounds of the draft.Theo Riddick (Current ADP: RB54)It may be surprising to learn that Theo Riddick ended as RB26 in PPR last season, but this was actually his lowest finish in three seasons. The elite pass-catching back has been a consistent part of the Lions offense, but the addition of Johnson could see his target count take a slight dip in 2018.Riddick is never given proper respect in fantasy drafts, even though he is exactly the type of running back that should fill out the back end of rosters. He is currently being drafted as the 54th running back off the board, but he will finish well ahead of this. Taking Riddick around the 10th or 11th round is a great move to provide some depth at the position.Wide receiverGolden Tate (Current ADP: WR23)Since 2015, Golden Tate has been eerily consistent, averaging 13.2, 13.9 and 14.0 fantasy points per game. There is no reason to think that this will not be the case in 2018, and he should continue to see somewhere between 120 and 130 targets. This is a great situation in PPR, and he can comfortably be drafted as a WR2.There were definitely some down moments for Tate last season Womens Jarrad Davis Jersey , as 40 percent of his games ended with under seven points. Just like everyone else in the offense, there is a hint of uncertainty with a new coaching regime in place, but Tate’s 46th overall ADP seems criminally low.Marvin Jones (Current ADP: WR24)Very rarely can an NFL offense house two top-12 fantasy wide receivers, but the Lions were able to do so in 2017. Both Tate and Marvin Jones were weapons for Stafford and the offense, and differentiating between the two in fantasy is no easy task. Though Tate saw more targets last season, it was Jones who had the higher floor during most weeks.Jones is still a great option in 2018 and should be a borderline WR2, but some regression should be expected. Tate seems to have a slightly safer role, and any player who relies on deep passes and a steep jump in touchdowns is a little risky. Still, Jones is being drafted around 54th overall which is a round later than he should be.Kenny Golladay (Current ADP: WR54)The old adage that it takes wide receivers three years to fully develop may not always be the case, but in fantasy it is better to bet on time when possible. Kenny Golladay had some exciting highlights in 2017, but he ended the season as a non-factor at WR70. With a year under his belt, he should improve on his 48 targets, but there are still plenty of mouths to feed in Detroit.Golladay is still only a dart throw this season, but he is worth a look near the end of the draft. If Tate or Jones happened to suffer from an injury, Golladay would be in prime position to sneak into the WR3 conversation. The risk is low for a player that can be had in double-digit rounds, so keep an eye out for him with one of your last picks.Tight endLuke Willson (Current ADP: TE33)In Seattle, Luke Willson was never much of a fantasy option, but perhaps a fresh start in Detroit could be exactly what he needs. Though he is a step down from Eric Ebron in terms of talent, the former Lion proved that tight ends can be productive under Stafford; Ebron was TE13 in PPR last season.Willson will be competing with a handful of players for targets this season, so temper expectations going into the year. He should only be drafted in the deepest of leagues, but could be a viable free agent addition come injuries and byes. He could end up as a low-end TE2, but this is likely his ceiling.Michael Roberts (Current ADP: TE59)Similar to Golladay, Michael Roberts enters Year 2 with some helpful experience but still has uphill battles to climb. To his benefit, the Lions did not grab any top-tier tight ends in free agency or the draft, but Roberts was a complete non-factor in 2017 with just four total receptions.Roberts is a name to pay attention to throughout the season, but there is no way he should be drafted at all. There are simply too many pass catchers on the Lions roster for him to see any sort of consistent work, and a lack of red zone targets is an absolute deal breaker for tight ends in fantasy.

Week 1 Patriots vs Texans: The New England Patriots have one of the deepest offensive backfields in the NFL – and it looks as if its depth will be tested today when the team opens its 2018 regular season against the Houston Texans. According to a report by ESPN’s Adam Schefter Marcus Cannon Jersey , first-round rookie running back Sony Michel is expected to miss the contest which would have been his NFL debut:As Schefer notes, Michel was listed as questionable on Friday’s final injury reported after being a limited practice participant all week long. The Georgia product, who was drafted by the Patriots with the 31st overall selection earlier this year, is dealing with a knee injury that cost him more than three weeks worth of practice time in training camp: Michel originally injured his knee on August 1 and did not return until August 27.The rookie missed all four of New England’s preseason contests and will now have to wait at least one more week for his first game action at the pro level. During his absence, Rex Burkhead and fellow offseason addition Jeremy Hill are projected to serve as the Patriots’ lead backs on early downs. James White, meanwhile, will again be the team’s primary receiving back. How OT Isaiah Wynn tearing his Achilles affects the rest of the Patriots offensive line New England Patriots offensive tackle Isaiah Wynn tore his Achilles on Thursday night against the Philadelphia Eagles and will miss his entire rookie season. It’s always terrible to see a player lost to an injury, but hopefully he’ll be able to return at full strength in 2019 and be a contributor.Wynn was competing for a starting job at tackle and he also offered value on the inside at guard. While Trent Brown and Marcus Cannon are the presumed starters at tackle and Joe Thuney and Shaq Mason are the expected starters at guard http://www.patriotscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-rex-burkhead-jersey , Wynn was the top back-up for all of those positions. This injury changes the entire Patriots depth chart and could alter their initial roster combination. Cannon is still sidelined with an injury that could put his availability in week 1 in jeopardy, so LaAdrian Waddle is now thrust into the starting lineup. The rest of the tackle depth chart consists of seventh-year veteran and 21-game starter Matt Tobin and six-year veteran and 3-game starter Ulrick John. Cole Croston also offers value as a tackle, while starting guard Joe Thuney could kick outside in a pinch as the depth on the interior appears to be a little stronger.I would expect Tobin to be the top back-up and his added versatility and history as a starting guard helps his case to make the roster. Prior to Wynn’s injury, Tobin was a long shot to make the roster. Factor in Cannon’s injury and Tobin is probably a coin flip decision. This affects the rest of the offensive line, too, as Wynn was practicing as a starting left guard when Thuney was sidelined with an injury in the spring, implying his role as a top back-up guard. While Thuney, David Andrews http://www.patriotscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-lawrence-guy-jersey , and Shaq Mason are roster locks, this re-opens the door for multiple of Ted Karras, Cole Croston, Luke Bowanko, Brian Schwenke, James Ferentz, and Jason King to make the team. The Patriots typically have nine offensive linemen on their roster, but they’ve experienced with eight to free up another roster spot if they have a super-sub that can back-up both the tackle and guard spots (five starters Patrick Chung Jersey , one back-up tackle, one back-up interior, and one back-up super-sub). Waddle and perhaps Karras or Croston or Tobin were the favorites to be the positional back-ups, while Wynn was likely to be the super-sub. But with Wynn out, do the Patriots still have a super-sub? I would argue yes with both Croston and Tobin capable of covering multiple roles on the offensive line. With Cannon battling an injury, I wouldn’t be surprised if both were able to make the team in addition to the positional back-ups (Waddle and Karras are my picks).Losing Wynn shouldn’t affect the Patriots’ ability to win or lose in 2018, but it does hinder the development of a player that was trying to find his place as an undersized tackle in the NFL. I hope that he’ll make a full and speedy recovery so he can pick up where he left off and continue to develop into a starting offensive lineman.

Sooner or later White Jeremy Hill Jersey , This was his toughest test yet as San Francisco's starting quarterback, facing a fierce Minnesota defense that refused to let him pass. With two touchdown passes by Kirk Cousins in his debut and three interceptions of Garoppolo in the second half, the Vikings had enough to hold on for a 24-16 victory over the 49ers in the season opener on Sunday to stick Garoppolo with his first loss in eight games as an NFL starter ."None of us did good enough to win today, especially on offense," coach Kyle Shanahan said.Garoppolo won twice for New England in 2016 during Tom Brady's suspension. He guided the 49ers to five straight wins to finish 2017 after he arrived in a trade with the Patriots and the team had fallen to 1-10, but the NFL schedule this year did his streak no favors. The Vikings used their star-stacked defense to finish 13-3 and reach the NFC championship game last season, leading the NFL in fewest yards and points allowed and third down conversions against.Minnesota's U.S. Bank Stadium is one of the loudest places in the league for opponents to play, too, and the crowd was cranked up on every one of San Francisco's 13 third downs. The 49ers converted five."We knew it was going to be a tough challenge with the environment, going against a tough team. They stood up to everything we thought they would, but with all the things that went bad we still had a shot at the end there," Garoppolo said. "Just a tough way to end it."The 49ers' defense forced three straight three-and-out possessions by the Vikings in the fourth quarter, giving Garoppolo an opportunity for the comeback. After the first of those punts, with Minnesota leading 24-13, Garoppolo's pass for Dante Pettis sailed past the rookie and to Xavier Rhodes for a one-handed interception .With San Francisco trailing 24-16, Harrison Smith snagged Garoppolo's overthrow for Trent Taylor at the 29-yard line to seal the game."You have to force it, but you have to be smart about when to force it I guess," Garoppolo said. "It's tough backed up like that."In the third quarter, when Kendrick Bourne lost his footing on a sideline route, Garoppolo's pass sailed straight to Vikings rookie Mike Hughes for a 28-yard interception return for a touchdown and a 17-3 lead. Garoppolo was particularly agitated on the sideline. When asked if he was upset with Bourne, he didn't deny it."What are you supposed to say at that point? It's an 'it is what it is' kind of thing. It was both of our faults, but whenever you throw an interception it's always on the quarterback," said Garoppolo http://www.authenticsnewenglandpatriots.com/cheap-patrick-chung-jersey , who finished 15 for 33 for 261 yards. With three backups already on the inactive list, the 49ers lost two right guards to left foot injuries during the game. After Mike Person (second quarter) and Joshua Garnett (third quarter) went out, rookie right tackle Mike McGlinchey had to slide over for the first action at guard of his life as Gary Gilliam entered at right tackle.Wide receiver Marquise Goodwin, who found a groove with Garoppolo down the stretch to finish with a team-leading 962 yards, hurt his right quadriceps in the first quarter and didn't return. While Cousins twice connected on tight-window throws for touchdowns for the Vikings, most of Garoppolo's similar throws in traffic went Minnesota's way. Trae Waynes ripped the ball away from Pettis as they both fell to the turf in the end zone at the end of a deep play in the second quarter. So Garoppolo's performance certainly wasn't all bad.He completed two third-and-long passes during a 14-play, 73-yard possession in the second quarter that reached the 1, only to watch Linval Joseph and Harrison Smith force Alfred Morris to lose a fumble on second-and-goal with 2:18 left before halftime and the Vikings leading 10-3.On his first snap after the pick-six by Hughes, Garoppolo found fullback Kyle Juszczyk wide open along the right sideline for a 56-yard gain that put the 49ers in range for the second of Robbie Gould's three field goals. After the Vikings took a 24-6 lead late in the third quarter, Garoppolo directed a seven-play, 75-yard drive to whittle the deficit back to 11 points. With the pocket collapsed in front of him, Garoppolo spun out in a 360-degree turn left and zipped an off-balance throw to Pettis in the back of the end zone for a 22-yard touchdown .Highlighted by tight end George Kittle's five catches for 90 yards, there was enough production by the 49ers to take some positives into their home opener against Detroit next week."We were rolling there toward the end," Kittle said. "It didn't end the way we wanted, but I feel like we definitely had some momentum going, and if we can do that we'll be a pretty good offense."Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will likely break two of Peyton Manning’s all-time records this season When former Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning retired at the end of the 2015 season and following his second Super Bowl win, he had plenty of all-time records on his Hall of Fame r茅sum茅. No player before or since had thrown for this many yards and or passing touchdowns as 1998’s first overall draft selection, or had been awarded the same number of league MVP titles. As the old saying goes, however, records are meant to be broken. And the most acomplished man to ever step on the gridiron is coming for two more of Manning’s marks in 2018: by the time the season is over, New England Patriots quarterback and reigning NFL most valuable player Tom Brady will likely be the league’s all-time leader in both combined passing yardage and combined passing touchdowns.Entering the 2018 season, Brady ranks fourth in both regular season passing yards (66,159) and regular season touchdown passes (488). However White Trent Brown Jersey , his playoff production is unrivaled as the 41-year old has thrown for more yards (10,226) and more touchdowns (71) during the playoffs – let alone won more games and titles – than any other player in league history. If you combine Brady’s numbers, he sits at 76,385 passing yards and 559 touchdowns. For comparison, Manning – the NFL’s all-time leader in regular season yards and scoring passes – retired after having thrown for a combined 79,279 yards and 579 touchdowns. While there is still a noticeable difference between the two men, it is not hard to project Brady surpassing his long-time rival’s numbers this season: Brady needs just 2,894 passing yards and 20 touchdowns to tie Manning’s numbers.Frankly, it would be a huge surprise if Brady failed to achieve those statistics. Only once in his career did he not throw for at least 3,000 combined yards – in 2008 when he missed all but a few minutes due to a knee injury. Just two times was he furthermore unable to cross the 20-touchdown barrier: in 2001, when he was thrust into the starting lineup after Drew Bledsoe suffered a serious injury in week two, and during the aforementioned 2008 season.Brady is not the only quarterback coming close to Manning, though, as the New Orleans Saints’ Drew Brees will likely break the regular season yardage record this year: he has 70,445 compared to Manning’s 71,940. However, despite holding an advantage in regular season passing yards and being tied in touchdowns at 488, Brees is still behind Brady when it comes to combined numbers: the veteran “only” has 4,209 postseason yards and 29.Consequently, it is Brady who is expected to end 2018 with two more records under his already legendary belt. But of course, the most satisfying record would be a different one: becoming the player to earn six Super Bowl rings.

Vikings Roster Cuts: We’re past the final deadline for NFL teams to cut their rosters down to 53 players Cheap Customized Minnesota Vikings Jerseys , but we’re still waiting for the final news to trickle in.One of the last players released by the team is cornerback Horace Richardson. He is being waived with an injury designation, which means that if he clears waivers he will go on the Vikings’ Injured Reserve list.Richardson was in his second Training Camp with the Vikings this year, as he joined the team as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Methodist University following the 2017 draft. He spent the 2017 season on the team’s practice squad, and just couldn’t do enough to carve his name into a very crowded cornerback depth chart in Minnesota. No indication yet one way or another if the team plans to bring Richardson back to the practice squad again. After all, Mike Zimmer has indicated that you can never have too many cornerbacks, and Richardson has shown some promise over the time he’s been with the Vikings.Once again http://www.authenticsminnesotavikings.com/cheap-sheldon-richardson-jersey , we’re waiting for word of the last few Minnesota Vikings’ roster moves to come in, but we’ll continue bringing them to you right here.NFL Network goes full “Heidi Game,” cuts off final minutes of Vikings/Jaguars When the NFL Network announced earlier in the year that the Week 2 preseason contest between the Minnesota Vikings and the Jacksonville Jaguars would be featured on their channel, most people. . .including those well outside of the Twin Cities market like myself. . .assumed that it would be the entire game. Not so much. The Jaguars got a go-ahead touchdown from Brandon Wilds to take a 14-10 lead over the Vikings with less than two minutes remaining and the Vikings still holding all three of their time outs. Rather than sticking with the action at U.S. Bank Stadium, however, the NFL Network apparently thought it would be a much better idea to switch to the opening kickoff of the second game of their Saturday quadruple-header http://www.authenticsminnesotavikings.com/cheap-andrew-sendejo-jersey , as fans everywhere saw the beginning of the game between the Oakland Raiders and the Los Angeles Rams.It was a bit of a throwback to the “Heidi Game” from many years ago. In that 1968 contest between the Raiders and the New York Jets, NBC cut away from their game to the beginning of the movie Heidi, and missed the Raiders scoring two touchdowns in the final minute to turn a 32-29 Jets lead into a 43-32 Raiders victory. The Vikings ultimately ended up falling short on their final drive, but it still would have been nice to see it anyway.Again, as I said in an earlier post, it’s just a preseason game and ultimately doesn’t mean anything. Still White Danielle Hunter Jersey , for the folks that live outside of the regular market for these games, it would have been appropriate for the NFL Network to show the game all the way to its conclusion. The game will be replayed on the NFL Network on Tuesday, 21 August at 9:00 AM Central if anyone would like to watch the last couple of minutes after missing it the first time.

Terence Newman announces retirement Womens Brett Jones Jersey , We have just received word that Minnesota Vikings cornerback Terence Newman has announced his retirement from the NFL and that he will immediately be joining the team’s coaching staff.Newman, who turns 40 in just three days, was set to be the oldest defensive player in the National Football League this season. He came back on a one-year contract that he signed this offseason, proclaiming that this was going to be his final year in the NFL.Newman came to the Vikings in 2015, and played in 47 of 48 possible games as a member of the team. He had shown the flexibility to play both cornerback and safety over the course of the time he was here, and the indications to this point had been that he was going to continue to fill that role for the team going forward.Newman didn’t see a whole lot of time this preseason, and with the glut of young talent the Vikings have in the defensive backfield, Newman apparently thought it was time to hang up his cleats.Newman also has a long relationship with Mike Zimmer http://www.thevikingsfootballauthentic.com/mike-remmers-jersey-authentic , going back to his days with the Dallas Cowboys. It’s not a surprise that he will be joining the Vikings’ coaching staff, though it has not been declared in exactly what capacity he will be serving at the present time.We would like to congratulate Terence Newman on a long and successful NFL career, and here’s hoping that he can sustain that success as a coach on the Minnesota sidelines. We will no doubt have more discussion of this over the next few days.Friday Open Thread: October 5th, 2018 Good Morning!I mentioned the other day in the mythical words up top may be truncated at times due to my new schedule, today is one of those days as I’m finishing this after midnight. of playing in the NFL http://www.cowboysauthorizedshops.com/authentic-anthony-brown-jersey , Houston Texans rookie running back Terry Swanson said he saw an opening and never looked back.Swanson had a 37-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter to lift the Texans to a 14-6 win over the Dallas Cowboys in their preseason finale Thursday night. The undrafted rookie running back out of Toledo, who served as an understudy to the Chiefs' Kareem Hunt in college, found a hole with five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter to put the Texans up two scores. Swanson finished with 69 yards on 17 carries."It's a dream come true to score my first NFL touchdown like that," he said."I wanted to have an opportunity to show what I can do. The odds are against you being an undrafted free agent, but for something like that to happen, puts you at better odds."Both teams rested their starters.Houston took a 7-3 lead in the first quarter after third-round pick safety Justin Reid intercepted Cooper Rush's pass to set up a 4-yard touchdown run by Alfred Blue. Blue, competing for the backup job behind Lamar Miller, rushed for 18 yards on four carries, while Troymaine Pope rushed for 21 yards on five carries. The Cowboys scored on two field goals from backup kicker Brett Maher, one on their opening drive from 57 yards and one late in the fourth quarter from 41.Texans backup quarterback Brandon Weeden started and went 3 for 9 for 22 yards. Behind Weeden, Joe Webb went 11 for 18 for 136 yards."We didn't do much offensively," Texans coach Bill O'Brien said. "I wouldn't say it was a stellar offensive night. I thought the effort was good, but it just wasn't great, offensively, all night."With the offense struggling, O'Brien got plenty of film on his punters, engaged in a tight position battle. Veteran punter Shane Lechler and rookie Trevor Daniel, went back and forth, with Lechler punting five times for 212 yards (42.4 average) and Daniel punting four times for 163 yards (40.8).After Daniel excelled in the first half, he punted one out of bounds that went just 30 yards. Lechler followed with a booming 61-yard punt to the Dallas 20-yard line."Both guys have really done well," O'Brien said. "Shane Lechler, in my opinion, is a Hall of Famer punter. He's competed at a really high level. And Trevor Daniel is a really good young punter. Both guys have done a really good job."Lechler, who was very complimentary of Daniel's talent and work ethic, said regardless of the Texans' decision, he has no plans of retiring this season."I know one thing — I fought as hard as I could every day," Lechler said. "Every time we went out there and punted against each other, that was a game day for me. I have no regrets."For Dallas, Rush played the entire first half and some of the third quarter http://www.thecowboysfootballauthentic.com/chris-jones-jersey-authentic , finishing 14 of 25 for 83 yards and two interceptions. Behind Rush, Mike White went 13 for 21 for 118 yards. After another lackluster performance, Rush was asked if he was concerned Dallas might look elsewhere for a backup quarterback."I don't even worry about that," Rush said. "It's not my job to worry about it. It would be a waste of time on my part to think about stuff like that."The Cowboys finished their preseason winless for the first time since 2014 when they went 12-4 in the regular season."Certainly whenever you go out there, you want to win and we're competing to win," Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said. "But that doesn't override some of the other objectives that we have."The two Texas teams will have a regular-season rematch in Houston in Week 5 on "Sunday Night Football." Dallas leads the series 3-1 and has won the past three meetings since the Texans won their first-ever matchup in their inaugural game in 2002.Cowboys starting quarterback Dak Prescott served as a team captain during the coin toss, even wearing his helmet. Before kickoff, however, Prescott put his helmet away and immediately exchanged his cleats for sneakers to settle in as a sideline spectator.Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott, who didn't play during the preseason, said at halftime he's excited to get back on the field."Camp is long, the preseason is long, but there is nothing like that first game when the lights come on for real," Elliott said.Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson also wore sneakers, even fashioning a makeshift bandanna out of a towel. While many Texans starters wore baseball caps on the sideline, nose tackle D.J. Reader stood out with a gray bucket hat.NATIONAL ANTHEMNo players from the Cowboys or the Texans kneeled during the national anthem.MANCZ GETS EXTENSIONThe Texans signed starting center Greg Mancz to a two-year contract extension on Thursday. Mancz, an undrafted free agent out of Toledo in 2015, played 10 games, starting seven, in 2017. Houston used a second-round tender on Mancz in the offseason and will pay him $1.907 million this season.GREGORY NOT WITH TEAMCowboys defensive end Randy Gregory spent Thursday in Chicago meeting with NFL officials to discuss his place in the league's substance-abuse program and his treatment plan, all "part of the process" as Garrett said before the game. Last Sunday, owner and general manager Jerry Jones said he anticipates Gregory will be available for the season opener.INJURIESCowboys: Backup strong safety Kavon Frazier, who did not play in the game, wore a sling on his left arm on the sideline to support his left shoulder that popped out of socket against Arizona. Garrett said it was just a precaution.NEXT UPCowboys (0-4): open their season at the Carolina Panthers on Sept. 9.Texans (3-1): visit the New England Patriots for their season opener on Sept. 9.Opposing player of the week: Darius Slay is an elite ball-hawking corner The Dallas Cowboys are gearing up for a crucial game that will have major implications on the rest of the season and, maybe, beyond. Dallas, 1-2, will look to rebound offensively after mediocre showings in two of the Cowboys’ first three games; but a Detroit Lions team, also 1-2 Womens Terrance Williams Jersey , is led by a strong secondary and they are hungry to carry over the momentum that they gained with a win over the New England Patriots.Dallas will likely want to rely on their workhorse running back, Ezekiel Elliott, in the critical week four battle as the Lions are not exactly strong against the run. Detroit is giving up an average of 149.3 rushing yards per game thus far this season — which is the worst in the entire league. The Lions are also giving up the most yards per carry (5.4 Y/A) in addition to giving up the two longest carries of the NFL season through three games — a 66-yard touchdown by Matt Brieda in the week two loss to the 49ers and a 61-yard score from Isaiah Crowell in the team’s week one defeat versus the Jets. Needless to say, Zeke should have plenty of opportunities to feast this Sunday.Knowing their own weaknesses of stopping the run — in addition to the Cowboys’ struggles in the passing game — expect the Lions to make some adjustments and commit eight or nine defenders in the box in an effort to make Dallas one-dimensional. So far, it appears to be questionable to not make Dak Prescott and the Cowboys receivers to beat you — albeit, the Giants came out on the wrong end of that equation in week two. This brings us to our opposing player of the week: Detroit cornerback Darius Slay.Darius Slay has gradually developed into one of the most elite cornerbacks in all of the NFL. The Mississippi State product used a stellar combine performance to make a rise in the 2013 NFL Draft. From there, the Lions have seen their former second-round pick get better each and every season.Slay reached Pro Bowl status for the first time last season after recording a league-high eight interceptions in 2017. The speedy, ball-hawking defensive back added 54 tackles, 26 passes defended, and a fumble recovery during his Pro Bowl season.Slay has a league-high 70 passes defended since 2014 to go along with the 15 interceptions that he has snatched in that time frame. It’s not like Slay is not guarding top competition, either; rather, the stud corner is locking down some of the league’s best receivers. Take a look for yourself: How will the Cowboys attack the Pro Bowl defender this Sunday in AT&T Stadium? Perhaps the smart move will be for Dak to avoid testing his former college teammate and instead look for more favorable matchups. However, as bad as the Lions are at defending the run, the Cowboys’ week four opponent has been good at defending the pass. Detroit, as mentioned previously, are the worst in the league when it comes to stopping opposing ball carriers; however, the same team has been among the best — through three games — at stopping the pass.Matt Patricia’s secondary is only allowing 152 yards through the air per contest this season, which is the least by any team thus far. The Lions have given up five scores through the air, but they have also forced two interceptions. Tom Brady had one of his worst performances of his legendary career last week versus Detroit, completing 53% of his passes for 133 yards with one touchdown and one interception — to, you guessed it:Brady tested Slay on three occasions last Sunday, failing to hit on any of the three pass attempts, including the interception above. Jason Garrett, Scott Linehan, and Dak Prescott have a difficult challenge on their hands when it comes to attacking a Lions defense that features one of the best cornerbacks in all of football. Dak seems excited for the challenge:Darius Slay is legit. Fortunately, the Cowboys should have success exploiting Detroit’s troubles in stopping the run. Will that be enough in getting a win and turning the season around? We will see.

on hold. The seemingly ageless kicker re-injured his right groin during the Indianapolis Colts' victory over Buffalo on Sunday Youth Malik Hooker Jersey , underwent an MRI on Monday and coach Frank Reich acknowledged he might miss next weekend's game at Oakland.Vinatieri first appeared on the injury report in Week 5 before facing his former team, New England. The 43-year-old looked fine in the game, making a 54-yard field goal and finishing with six points to move within 20 of breaking Morten Andersen's league scoring record of 2,544 points. The Colts kicker added three more field goals in Week 6 against the New York Jets and another against the Bills — though he also missed two extra points in a game for the first time in his 23-year career. He needs five points to move past Andersen."We just know he felt a little something on the first PAT, so we are just going to see how the week progresses," Reich said on a conference call. "We're going to bring in some kickers, just so you guys know, but we are not going to make any decisions until later."Vinatieri has been a model of consistency throughout his career. His legacy as the best clutch kicker in history began with two kicks in the "Snow Bowl", one to force overtime and one to beat Oakland in overtime. That victory helped lead New England to its second Super Bowl appearance. Two weeks later, he made the winning kick in the final minute to give the Patriots their first championship since the AFL-NFL merger. He made another last-minute, Super Bowl-winning kick two years later to give the Patriots the second of their five Lombardi Trophies. The story continued after he signed with Indianapolis before the 2006 season. Vinatieri made five field goals in a divisional-round matchup at Baltimore, a game in which no touchdowns were scored, to help send the Colts on their first title run since moving to Indianapolis.Vinatieri has four championship rings, is a three-time All-Pro selection and last month broke Andersen's record for field goals. Andersen finished with 565. Vinatieri has 571.And Vinatieri has achieved all those feats largely because of his uncanny ability to stay healthy. He's missed only 15 games during his career, 10 coming in 2009 when he finished the season on injured reserve. This injury even caught Reich by surprise."I thought he was just like a robot," Reich said. "He's a machine. But the good thing is he has that mental toughness, that mindset to do what he has done in his career. You know he has the right mindset to get past this — whatever course it should take."Now, though, Reich & Co. must figure out their next move.Reich doesn't anticipate Indy (2-5) signing Vinatieri's potential replacement immediately and instead will rely on trainers to closely monitor Vinatieri's health, consulting Vinatieri before making a decision.Keeping him out this week could work to Vinatieri's advantage, too.The Colts have a bye following the Raiders game, giving Vinatieri two weeks to heal, then play three straight games in the climate-controlled confines of Lucas Oil Stadium.Sitting out a week also could help Vinatieri achieve his stated preference of breaking Andersen's record on his home turf — even if this wasn't how he planned it."Ultimately when you've got a guy like Adam, who's just so unique, we are going to listen to him," Reich said. "We are going to listen to the trainers and that will be what will inform our decision."NOTES: Reich provided no updates on tight end Erik Swoope, who did not return after hurting his knee Sunday, or defensive lineman Jihad Ward, who was carted off the field after appearing to injure his right ankle. ... Reich also could not say whether Pro Bowl tight end Jack Doyle (hip) could return this week. Doyle has missed six straight games.Colts training camp roster bubble watch So far during the Indianapolis Colts first 10 training camp practices we’ve discussed those players who are doing well, those who aren’t and we have also mentioned a few who just haven’t been noticed. The regrettably forgettable, if you will. While being noticed for getting owned isn’t a good place to be by any means, those who can’t get noticed simply because they aren’t rising to the occasion is a similar void players don’t want to fall into. It’s very early and the Colts open up the preseason in Seattle Thursday night, and it’s difficult to shove a player into a specific designation right now.On the other hand, with injuries to some come opportunities for others. Each practice offers a time to impress the staff and onlookers, and some are still falling under the radar. Here are some guys who need to get on the radar in a hurry whether it’s in practice or in preseason games as they close in.Offensive LineJust looking across the Colts’ line (from left to right) we see Anthony Castonzo, Quenton Nelson, Ryan Kelly, Matt Slauson and Austin Howard. There’s five, and we should expect 9 as an ideal number to be on the roster if Frank Reich’s assessment is any indication. After that, each tackle position needs a legit backup and versatility becomes key for the rest. With 4 spots open, theoretically, you see Joe Haeg (T/G/C), Braden Smith (G/T?) and Denzelle Good (T/G) who appear to be solid position holders within the top 8 as key backups right now.Now the battle sits with Le’ Raven Clark (T), Mark Glowinski (G), J’Marcus Webb (T), Deyshawn Bond (C/G?) and probably Jeremy Vujnovich (G) who collectively don’t have much position versatility at all. These are your bubble players right now who need to prove that they belong. Right now, I’m not laying any money on this group in terms of a prediction. Running BacksThis group is fairly set, but we need to consider what the Colts might do while Robert Turbin is sitting on a 4-game suspension. If the Colts are to keep just 4 http://www.coltsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-rigoberto-sanchez-jersey , which makes sense, that puts Marlon Mack, Jordan Wilkins and Nyheim Hines as virtual locks right now. The fourth spot — in whatever order you want to add him in that top-4 group — that Turbin would fill in his return becomes somewhat of an opening. Christine Michael has had a real rough time hanging on to the ball, and hasn’t become much of a pass-catching option. Josh Ferguson hasn’t been in practice for several days now, and looks to clearly be the last guy in consideration using simple elimination. The real question with this position is; do they even keep 4 backs to start the season? This is a position that may get filled by a player not yet on the roster, or they may fill the roster spot with a premier special teams player. I don’t even know if I see a bubble from this group — there’s only ‘in’ and ‘out’ right now.Tight EndsJack Doyle, Eric Ebron, Erik Swoope and Ross Travis would easily be my picks right now for this group, without any hesitation. Mo Alie-Cox and Darrell Daniels (with a reasonable guess) are battling Travis for that No. 4 at the position, but I don’t see what these two could offer that the top-4 don’t already give the team.Technically, you could put those three down as the ‘bubble’ guys who need to have good preseason tape in order to reach the 53-man roster. But, this also looks to be a clear fall off from the speed and talent this position offers after Travis.ReceiversT.Y. Hilton, Chester Rogers and Ryan Grant (by default in my opinion) are the top-3 at the position to the Colts coaching staff. Deon Cain is making this roster, and K.J. Brent has been the best of the rest through camp thus far. That, very quickly, gets us to 5 receivers at a position that may, or may not keep 6. You’ve got a fifth-round rookie in Daurice Fountain that the Colts would like to see have long-term viability. Add in Kasen Williams, Steve Ishmael, Zach Pascal, James Wright and Krishawn Hogan who are all trying to make a case to the staff to keep 6, and the bubble here is large. Fountain has been largely quiet to this point and hasn’t been on the practice field since Wednesday. In the meantime Pascal, Williams, Wright and Ishmael have all been coming around in recent days and Hogan seems to be getting more comfortable coming off of his season-ending injury by shedding the knee brace. Most of these bubble guys have been taking time with punt returns before and after practice, and that may very well be the deciding factor going forward. This group is going to be hard to call based on talent and fit.Defensive LineThis group, similar to the offensive line right now, is another that is getting a heavy rotation through training camp. You figure Jabaal Sheard, Kemoko Turay, John Simon, Tarell Basham, Margus Hunt as the defensive ends right now, and then Denico Autry, Tyquan Lewis, Al Woods and Grover Stewart giving you the defensive tackle bunch. That’s nine already, but not out of the realm of likelihood even as Reich and Matt Eberflus are hoping to have a defensive front that can play in waves throughout a game. But, do they actually keep 9?I think in a look at those above, if the Colts were to cut to 8, John Simon might be hard to keep especially with Hunt, Lewis and Autry having the flexibility to work at multiple positions. Simon is just a good football player, though, and he’s had a pretty nice camp to this point despite being sidelined the past couple days with a groin issue. This actually gets pretty interesting.Hassan Ridgeway, Chris McCain, Carraun Reid, Anthony Johnson and Tomasi Laulile fall in behind this group and, like other back-end of the roster guys at other positions, don’t offer much versatility to get them an additional edge. None of these guys fall on the ‘couldn’t-live-without-them’ list by any means, and would need a masterful preseason coupled with good practices to even be considered bubble guys. How much special teams help to they give them? That may be the focus again for the coaching staff when it all comes down.LinebackersWhile it’s fair to say that this position is still wide open in terms of the starters, that’s coming more into focus, and — unfortunately for the bottom of the position — so are the immediate backups. Anthony Walker Matthias Farley Jersey , if healthy, right now is the MIKE, but could easily lose it depending on how much time he spends out of the mix. Skai Moore is right on his heels, and Zaire Franklin is there too for the base look offering some versatility at the other roles as well. The SAM role looks to be Najee Goode’s to lose, and Darius Leonard with Tyrell Adams right behind him are atop the list at the WILL position. Presuming Walker is good for the regular season, that gives us 6 to work with immediately. Watching what Antonio Morrison can do as Goode’s backup, and how much Matthew Adams (very quiet up to now) can do at other roles, including special teams, might be the kicker going forward. You still have Jeremiah George and William Ossai attempting to break in, but it’s a long road for them right now. Ultimately, I think it comes down to Matthew Adams and Morrison as bubble guys, but I also would acknowledge that Morrison is a guy the staff seems to like quite a bit right now as a tone-setter in a physical role. That still means something in the NFL.CornerbacksThe cornerback unit is another one which has had a ton of rotation thus far in training camp. Pierre Desir, Quincy Wilson, Kenny Moore and Nate Hairston have all been getting first-team reps with Desir and Wilson as boundary corners and Moore and Hairston primarily, but definitely not limited to, working in the nickel role. These four, in some 3-man combination, will represent the starters in Week 1 barring any unforeseen injury. Further down the line you have Robert Jackson, who has been rising lately, and then a mish-mash of Lashard Durr, Chris Milton, D.J. White and Henre Toliver to round out the position.Right now I’d put Jackson in with White and Toliver as the two pushing for the CB6 spot as it currently stands. This position — in my humble opinion — is still in need of a top-4 talent to push for snaps. I think White and Toliver, and maybe Durr, could all likely be decent depth, however, if they had to sit in for a significant amount of time it could get scary back there.Look for this to be a position that gives a hard look at someone being dispatched from their current team come the 53-man cut. SafetiesThe Colts safety position is a bit clearer than most I think, but there’s still a competition for that No. 4 spot. So long as everyone’s ready to go, without any question, Malik Hooker, Clayton Geathers and Matthias Farley are the three who are safe.Once you get to T.J. Green, Ronald Martin, Chris Cooper, Shemarko Thomas and George Odum a lot of questions arise. Green should be considered the front-runner, in my estimation, but not by much. Martin has been pretty good from what I’ve seen from him, Thomas is a physical down-hill attacker and Cooper and Odum both offer a good bit of special teams help as gunners.Dependent upon how the coaching staff sees Green, and if they aren’t in love with any of the others, this could also be a position that gets some action as cuts come down. However, for what we know right now, all of these safeties after Farley should be considered to be on the bubble in that there’s a lot to prove over the next few weeks. One addition that I think needs to be considered with this unit is the rise of Skai Moore in sub packages. He’s been used as the dime linebacker quite a bit when it’s being used in practices and it could play a part with the safeties as well IF the Colts get into some tough decisions with the roster at other positions. What’s Left?As it stands right now, this is the group of players on both side of the ball who I believe are completely safe (in green). You can see that (including kicker, punter, longsnapper) there is currently only 48 spots “spoken for.”This, naturally, leaves just 5 open for the rest of the field. I think Chris Ballard, Frank Reich and company do indeed have some tough decisions to make when it all boils down to it. Who is your 5 players from the field that you’d add to the Colts initial 53-man roster?OffenseDefense
