PITTSBURGH (AP) — All those positive vibes created by their big win over Baltimore three weeks ago are gone — mostly forgotten. The Browns are fading fast. And coach Hue Jackson or offensive coordinator Todd Haley could vanish soon.“We have to go to the drawing board Youth Tyrod Taylor Jersey ,” Jackson said following a 33-18 loss Sunday to the Steelers that wasn’t that close. “We have to get better. We aren’t where we need to be, bottom line.”Cleveland squandered early scoring chances, settling for field goals when touchdowns were needed, and the Browns (2-5-1) dropped their third straight game, raising more questions about Jackson’s future.A week after pledging to do whatever was necessary to fix Haley’s offense, Jackson, now 3-36-1 in two-plus seasons, doesn’t seem to have a strong handle on any aspect of his team.Cleveland gained 119 yards in the first quarter — but just 118 more over the final three. The Browns line didn’t do enough to protect rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield; the playmakers didn’t make enough plays; and once again, Cleveland’s offense bogged down after the defense forced turnovers. The Browns also allowed 421 yards and missed numerous chances to tackle Steelers running back James Conner, who picked up 146 and scored twice. Also Tyrod Taylor Jersey Stitched , kicker Greg Joseph was off target on a field goal and extra point.Following the game, Jackson used the word “disheartening” to describe the wayward kicks. He might as well been talking about his team’s overall performance as the Browns dropped their 15th straight game at Heinz Field.“It was a chance for us again to make a mark in the AFC North,” Jackson said. “Seems like we didn’t grab what I think we had a chance to grab.”The loss followed another turbulent week for the Browns, who have lost 25 consecutive road games — one shy of the NFL record held by the Detroit Lions (2007-10). Jackson’s postgame comments in Tampa Bay last week about “diving” in to help Haley turned into awkward news conferences during which both coaches insisted they were united.Jackson refused to dignify a report that he may soon fire Haley if the team doesn’t improve on offense.“I don’t want to talk about or give legs to anything about last week,” Jackson said. “I said what I said out of frustration. That’s over and done with. Let’s go watch the tape and see how we can get better.”Jackson said he has no issues with Haley.“There’s nothing wrong with my relationship with Haley,” he said. “I said what I said last week, and obviously, it had legs, but I never said I wanted to take away play calling. I said I wanted to help. That’s it. Now all of the sudden it’s this big ol’ thing because sure everyone’s going to look and say what’s going on? The only thing that’s going on is we need to get better. We need to coach better.”Jackson believes he still has the attention of his players, and isn’t concerned about them giving in.“Still up Youth Carlos Hyde Jersey ,” he said about the team’s overall mood. “Frustrated, mad, don’t like to lose like that. But this team will stick together and keep fighting.”Defensive end Myles Garrett raised some eyebrows when he was asked if the Browns, who tied the Steelers in Week 1 and beat the Ravens in overtime on Oct. 8, are going backward.“I think we just took the wrong approach this time,” he said, referring to Cleveland’s defensive game plan. “I think we should’ve just stayed with what we did the first time, just go with base calls and punch them in the mouth.”Browns rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield threw a pair of touchdown passes, but spent much of the day under pressure from Pittsburgh’s rush.Mayfield was only sacked twice, and he did all he could to avoid a question about the Jackson-Haley relationship.“I try not to pay attention to that stuff Carlos Hyde Jersey Stitched ,” he said. “I’m invested in the game plan and invested in trying to learn and grow with some of these receivers. Trying to get the timing down, trying to get the trust, so that’s above my pay grade. I’m not worried about that. When it comes down to it, we come out here, we have to play the game to win.”Browns left guard Joel Bitonio echoed Mayfield’s remarks. He wasn’t going to get caught in a perceived tug-of-war between his coaches or comment on Haley, who had a forgettable return trip to Pittsburgh as an opponent after six seasons as the team’s offensive coordinator.“We’re trying to do our best with what we have out there,” Bitonio said. “I don’t think you can pinpoint it on one person.” Quarterback is the first Cleveland Browns player honored with the award."WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections Daily Dawg ChowRufio’s PlaybookBaker Mayfield named PFWA Rookie of the YearNew,8commentsQuarterback is the first Cleveland Browns player honored with the award.ESTShareTweetShareShareBaker Mayfield named PFWA Rookie of the YearRon Chenoy-USA TODAY SportsCleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield was named the Pro Football Writers of America’s Rookie of the Year on Tuesday.Mayfield is the first Browns player to be honored with the award, which has been presented on a mostly annual basis by the organization since 1966, when Atlanta Falcons middle linebacker Tommy Nobis took home the honors.Joining Mayfield on the All-Rookie team is cornerback Denzel Ward. During his Monday press conference, Jaguars coach Doug Marrone said that he expected the team’s Week 11 game against the Steelers to move from Sunday night to Sunday afternoon because he felt his 3-5 team doesn’t deserve to play in prime time. The NFL agrees with Marrone. The league announced changes to the schedule for Week 11 later on Monday and they included moving the Jaguars and Steelers to a 1 p.m. ET kickoff on CBS.Instead of the matchup of AFC teams, the closer for Sunday’s action in Week 11 will be the Vikings taking on the Bears in Chicago. It’s not clear how many true General Managers jobs will be available in early 2019 — jobs that may or may not entail full and complete control over the roster and/or the draft. For any G.M. jobs that come open Taysom Hill Jersey 2019 , whether those that have final say or that don’t, the NFL’s Career Development Advisory Panel has compiled a list of viable G.M. candidates. News about the Cowboys was not in short supply last week.It was officially announced that Kellen Moore would be the team’s offensive coordinator (he might even call plays too) and Gil Brandt was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Even though the Cowboys aren’t playing in the Super Bowl Dallas Cowboys Brett Maher Jersey , these are good times.Something else that showed up on the ol’ Twitter timeline was a supposed feud between Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott. Yes, seriously. You see, it was rumored that Zeke unfollowed Dak on Instagram, welcome to the type of problems that can exist in 2019.I’m always down to see what players are doing and saying on social media, it’s an extension of their own views and interests after all. We often find out team-related things from these platforms (Tyrone Crawford first let us know Chaz Green was being used at left guard for example), but this example is kind of ridiculous. It doesn’t take a genius mind to realize that Dak and Zeke are as tight as friends can be. Even if there had been an unfollowing of sorts it would surely have been some sort of accident. Dak acknowledged this during his red carpet appearance at NFL Honors. You can see how hilarious Dak finds the idea to be because he chuckles at the question itself. As mentioned this is the world we live in where topics like this hold real relevance, just look at Antonio Brown or the NBA as a whole, but such is not the case with the quarterback of America’s Team.Dak and Zeke are good buds who happen to also line up in the backfield of the Dallas Cowboys Sunday after Sunday. It’s not the relationship that most friends have, but it’s one that works for them. There are no questions about that. Now that the Cowboys have begun their offseason and, for all intents and purposes, finished reconstructing their coaching staff, the team shifts its focus to free agency and the draft. While Dallas will certainly look to keep several of their own free agents, there are other players they could look to sign, and this series will focus on potential free agent targets at each position of need for the Cowboys. Today’s focus is on the need at safety.Earl ThomasTroy Wayrynen-USA TODAY SportsLet’s go ahead and get this one out of the way first. The Cowboys almost traded for ET a couple times last year, but Seattle reportedly asked for too much in return. Thomas, a lifelong Cowboys fan Womens Brett Maher 2019 Jersey , went on to pick off Dak Prescott twice in Week 3 and take a bow in front of the Dallas bench. The next week, he fractured his left leg and was placed on the injured reserve. Now, Thomas enters free agency and seems unlikely to return to Seattle. Back when Dallas was engaged in trade talks, they were unsure of Xavier Woods’ ability to play the center field kind of role Thomas did in Seattle for so long, but Woods used the 2018 season to prove himself. Still, adding a guy like Thomas would give Dallas a lot of versatility with their safeties, as Woods has good experience in the box, having switched out with Jeff Heath often this year. The biggest question with Thomas would be about his value. Thomas has carried a cap hit of $10 million or more for the last three years, so he might ask for more money than Dallas is willing to offer. There’s also the issue that ET will turn 30 before training camp begins and he’s coming off his second season-ending leg injury in three years. There are certainly younger options out there. Landon CollinsBrad Penner-USA TODAY SportsCowboys fans are certainly familiar with Landon Collins, as he’s been with the rival Giants the last four years. At six feet and 222 pounds, Collins fits the bill of a box safety with the coverage skills to also contribute as a free safety, giving the Cowboys versatility on the back end with Woods. Collins brings many of the same traits as Thomas, and he played at Alabama so his connection to Nick Saban probably makes him even more appealing to Jason Garrett. But Collins has one downside as a free agent prospect. Just coming off of his rookie contract, Collins will be looking for a big contract, and he’ll certainly get offers from other teams. Dallas may not be looking for a bidding war after the big contract they’ll give DeMarcus Lawrence. Add to it that Collins has been put on the injured reserve the last two years in a row, and his durability may be called into question. Kenny VaccaroChristopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY SportsKenny Vaccaro is a player the Cowboys have expressed interest in before. In the 2013 draft Cheap Brett Maher Youth Jersey , Dallas was reportedly targeting the Longhorn, but when Vaccaro got picked up by New Orleans the Cowboys traded back and selected Travis Frederick. And this past offseason when Vaccaro entered free agency, Dallas was rumored to be interested in signing him before opting to stick with Woods and Heath. Maybe the third time can be the charm. Coming out of college, Vaccaro was considered an ideal strong safety type. His first three years with the Saints showed that, and in 2015 Vaccaro’s 104 tackles was second best on the team. But over the next two years, nagging injuries limited him to just 23 games total and his production dropped as a result. He joined the Titans during the regular season but will be back on the market this offseason. It should be noted that his best year came after New Orleans switched to a 4-3 scheme that used Vaccaro more as a traditional box safety, and he would fill a very similar role in Dallas. The biggest question with him would revolve around health. HaHa Clinton-DixDouglas DeFelice-USA TODAY SportsHaHa Clinton-Dix is more than just a funny name, he’s a highly underrated safety. Clinton-Dix possesses rare playmaking abilities, and has notched 14 interceptions in his five years in the NFL. More than that, Clinton-Dix has never missed a game, and started 74 of the 80 games he’s played in. As they say, availability is the best ability. While Clinton-Dix has traditionally played a free safety role in Green Bay and Washington, he’s exhibited the traits that Dallas wants in a strong safety too, and is willing to go up and make tackles. He had over 100 tackles each of his first two years in Green Bay, and had 93 in 2018 while playing for two different teams. It came as a surprise when the Packers traded him away as many think highly of Clinton-Dix. Much like Thomas, Clinton-Dix would give Dallas a coverage ace who’s unafraid of playing in the box. However Dallas Cowboys Ibraheim Campbell Jersey , at just 26-years-old, Clinton-Dix might be too costly for the Cowboys. DeShawn SheadMark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY SportsDeShawn Shead may be the most realistic free agent safety for the Cowboys, not counting any camp bodies that Dallas will inevitably sign. Undrafted out of Portland State, Shead spent the first six years of his career in Seattle under Kris Richard, and he was cut only after Richard left the team. He had a short and minimal stint with Detroit in 2018, but is a free agent again. In Seattle, Shead was initially brought in as a backup safety but later moved to cornerback out of necessity. He was never the best in deep coverage situations, but Shead’s size (6’2” and 212 lbs) gave him advantages over smaller receivers. Shead thrived the most in run defense, though, and he used his big frame and strength to carve out a productive tackling role. Shead seems intent on staying at corner, but for a reunion with his former position coach he may be willing to play in the box as a safety. It would certainly fit his skill set, and his familiarity with Richard’s tendencies is a big plus.
NASHVILLE Youth T.J. Green Jersey , Tenn. (AP) — The Indianapolis Colts have Andrew Luck healthy and throwing the ball all over the field. That’s more than enough with an injured Marcus Mariota stuck watching from the Tennessee sideline.Luck threw for 285 yards and three touchdowns and the Colts beat the Titans 33-17 on Sunday night for the final spot in the postseason as the AFC’s No. 6 seed. With the Texans winning the AFC South title earlier Sunday with a victory over Jacksonville, that left the Colts and Titans playing for the second wild-card berth and a visit to Houston on Saturday.“It’s been a lot of fun,” Luck said. “It’s been a journey, that’s for sure. I think what this team is doing is enjoying the journey.”Luck remained perfect against Tennessee, notching his 11th victory for the most wins by a quarterback since at least 1970 to win his first 11 starts against one franchise. He helped the Colts (10-6) — under first-year coach Frank Reich — end their postseason drought by winning for the ninth time in 10 games after a 1-5 start.“I mean you’re 1-5, and that’s special T.J. Green Jersey Stitched ,” Reich said. “It not only takes the whole team for 10 weeks, so that’s very special.”The Titans (9-7) snapped a four-game winning streak with Mariota sidelined by neck and foot injuries. They missed a second straight playoff berth under first-year coach Mike Vrabel.“We made a decision that Marcus wasn’t going to play tonight,” said Vrabel, who gave no details on when the decision not to start Mariota was made nor the seriousness of his injury. “We’ll continue to evaluate him and try to worry about his health and every one of those guys’ health — Marcus included.”The Colts intercepted two of Blaine Gabbert’s passes in the final 9:05 to finish off their 13th win in the last 15 games in the series.Marlon Mack ran for 119 yards and a TD for the Colts. Adam Vinatieri kicked field goals of 53 and 25 yards. The NFL’s oldest active player missed his final extra point.Derrick Henry, who took the Titans’ first offensive snap out of the wildcat, finished with 93 yards.Tennessee was missing three defensive starters with four-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Jurrell Casey placed on injured reserve Monday and linebacker Brian Orakpo scratched for a third straight game. That left the Titans unable to pressure Luck even with the Colts missing center Ryan Kelly because of a neck injury. And Luck simply shredded a Tennessee defense that came in as the NFL’s No. 2 scoring defense giving up just 18 points a game and sixth against the pass.He drove the Colts 92 yards before hitting Dontrelle Inman with an 11-yard TD pass and finished off a 90-play drive that used up nearly 10 minutes with a 9-yard pass to Eric Ebron. That left the Colts up 14-0 Youth Le'Raven Clark Jersey , having held the ball for nearly 17 of the first 21 minutes.Luck also added a 1-yard TD toss to Ryan Hewitt on the opening drive of the third quarter for a 24-10 lead.“The most satisfying thing is to walk in the locker room, look at your teammate and say, ‘We did it,’ and we did it,” Reich said. “Those are three of the best words that you can ever say to your teammate. To me, that’s really the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.”Titans linebacker Jayon Brown almost singlehandedly kept the Colts from putting the game away before halftime.Brown returned an interception 22 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter. After Adoree Jackson inexplicably grabbed at a bouncing punt that put the Colts at the Tennessee 9 Le'Raven Clark Jersey Stitched , the Colts had a TD run by Mack erased by a holding penalty on center Evan Boehm. Two plays later, Brown stripped Mack of the ball and recovered it.Ryan Succop kicked a 38-yard field goal that pulled Tennessee to 17-10 at halftime. Gabbert threw a 22-yard TD pass to Luke Stocker to pull the Titans to 24-17 late in the third quarter.INJURIESThe already banged-up Titans had tight end Luke Stocker leave with an injured knee early in the second quarter followed by receiver Tajae Sharpe being helped to the sideline with an ankle. Stocker returned. Sharpe didn’t.Colts defensive end Tyquan Lewis hurt his knee late in the first half and did not return. Colts receiver Ryan Grant hurt a toe.FLYING FLAGSThe Colts would have won by a bigger margin if not for penalties that wiped out not one, but two touchdowns. They at least salvaged a Vinatieri field goal after Jordan Wilkins‘ TD run in the fourth quarter was erased by a formation penalty. The Colt were flagged 12 times for 96 yards. The Titans, who came in as the NFL’s least penalized team, finished with nine penalties for 75 yards.UP NEXT:Colts: Wild-card game in Houston on Saturday.Titans: Try to get Mariota healthy and find a better backup. He is 6-5 Womens Denzel Ward Jersey , 305-pounds and played college football at Southeast Missouri State. Forbes will wear No. 79 with the Browns.Browns’ offensive snap counts, stats, and PFF notes: Preseason Week 1 Below, we analyze the snap counts and stats on offense for the Cleveland Browns’ Week 1 preseason game against the New York Giants.QuarterbackPosPlayerPlays%StatsPosPlayerPlays%StatsNotes:The quarterback play was very good, starting with Tyrod Taylor, who was a perfect 5-of-5 and showed precision on his first pass to Jarvis Landry and then his touchdown pass to TE David Njoku. I don’t know how often Buffalo ran the hurry-up offense with Taylor, but it certainly looked like an element he was comfortable in.Playing behind a pretty bad offensive line, Baker Mayfield had the type of performance that you love to see from a rookie quarterback. There were some throws that coaches might tell him to do something different with as he’s about to be hit (i.e. perhaps take the sack or throw it out of bounds), but he showed a combination of great zip on the ball while also having good mobility to pick up first downs with his fit or hit a receiver downfield.PFF says that Mayfield had a 142.3 passer rating on throws that he was kept clean, which ranked “second out of 22 quarterbacks with qualifying dropbacks.”Running BackPosPlayerPlays%StatsPosPlayerPlays%StatsNotes:This was not a good showcasing for the Browns’ running game, at all. As a team, they combined to have 33 carries for 50 yards (1.5 YPC).Carlos Hyde and Duke Johnson each only got a carry, and Nick Chubb was given the workload after that. In 15 carries Womens Bernie Kosar Jersey , he had just 11 yards. I can’t be too critical of Chubb because of the lack of blocking, but in the one preseason practice I went to, he looked equally unimpressive unless the blocking was solid from the snap (allowing him to make some sick quick cuts).Wide ReceiverPosPlayerPlays%StatsPosPlayerPlays%StatsNotes:Jarvis Landry was presented as the leader of the receiving room this week, and he showed it with two early targets, including a great first catch up the sideline. The taunting penalty was just some preseason garbage; granted, I don’t necessarily care when players spin the ball after a catch, but he didn’t do it in the direction of the defender. (shrugs)Rashard Higgins looks polished, and it was nice seeing him have success on some outside throws (he mostly worked the slot in 2017).The most featured player all game was Antonio Callaway, who played 78% of the snaps. It wasn’t the best start for him, as he had a couple of dropped passes. The fade that Baker Mayfield threw him up the sideline could have been hauled in too. He got better as the game went along, though, showing the wow-factor with his speed. If Callaway can keep his head on straight, then you see why the coaches want to give him as many reps as possible: they want him up to speed to be a Day 1 contributor on offense. The other receivers made the catches they were supposed to make; it was a good day for the receivers all around. Not receiving any receiver reps on offense were Jeff Janis Denzel Ward Jersey , Blake Jackson, and Evan Berry. Janis not receiving reps is a tad surprising, although he was slightly banged up this week in practice.Tight EndPosPlayerPlays%StatsPosPlayerPlays%StatsNotes:Oh my god, what a game for David Njoku! In just 18 plays, he caught two touchdown passes. Todd Haley had him run straight up the seam against a linebacker who stood no chance, and then he went up to catch another touchdown amidst three defenders. This is the guy I was hoping to see even a glimpse of all of last season, and despite some early drops in camp, now I’m really excited for what he can do in 2018. Credit Njoku for also making an outstanding open field tackle on a punt.Offensive LinePosPlayerPlays%StatsPosPlayerPlays%StatsNotes:The Browns’ offensive line allowed 1 sack and 3 quarterback hits. The quarterbacks had a good internal clock and escapability to prevent hits, but it was the run blocking that really lacked.I have to go back and watch the film, but there appeared to be a lot of criticism for rookie LG Austin Corbett in his debut. Spencer Drango filled in for the injured Kevin Zeitler at right guard.Shon Coleman played right guard with the second unit and was flagged for a false start.PFF loved the Browns’ pass blocking:

Cooper Kupp returned to practice with the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday Womens Marcus Davenport Jersey , less than three weeks after the receiver injured his knee. While Kupp is still uncertain whether he'll play Sunday, the second-year pro is grateful to be anywhere near the field this quickly, since he also incurred a concussion one week before he was carted off the turf in Denver with that knee injury."It could have been worse," Kupp said. "Guys in this league go through a lot worse. It's football. You know these things are going to happen. At some point, everyone goes through some kind of injury if you play this game long enough. Hopefully you'll just move through this thing and work through it and get back out there playing the game I love."Kupp hopes to be in uniform when the Rams (8-0) visit the New Orleans Saints (6-1) in a tantalizing midseason NFC showdown, and coach Sean McVay expected to have LA's full complement of receivers at Jared Goff's disposal in what could be a high-scoring showdown with Drew Brees and coach Sean Payton.Kupp was hurt by a horse-collar tackle from the Broncos' Darian Stewart. One week earlier, he left a game in Seattle after taking a head hit.The dual experiences were a challenge for a receiver who never missed significant playing time in college at Eastern Washington or during his outstanding rookie season, when he led Los Angeles with 869 yards receiving and formed a tight bond with Goff."The first thing that goes through my head as soon as it happens is, 'I'm letting these guys down by not being able to be out there and compete,'" Kupp said. "You put so much time and effort into getting your body ready to play, and then when you're not able to because your body is not allowing you to, you feel like, 'What else could I have done to prevent this from happening?'"A receiver can't do much about a horse-collar tackle from behind, and the injury was alarming to his teammates."I think the knee one was definitely scary to see Marcus Davenport Jersey White ," Goff said. "You see those happen all the time, and usually they're not very good. Whenever someone gets carted off like that, usually it doesn't end up very good. I think he's recovered really quickly."Kupp had 30 catches for 438 yards and five touchdowns in the Rams' first five games this season. During his absence from most of the past three games, Los Angeles relied on second-year pro Josh Reynolds to fill Kupp's usual spot in the Rams' wideout trio of Robert Woods, Brandin Cooks and Kupp.Reynolds had only seven catches in the last four games, but two went for touchdowns in last week's 29-27 win over Green Bay. McVay loves to use his top three receivers in multiple roles with minimal substitutions, so Reynolds' ability to fill in for Kupp was vital."It's a great group of three," McVay said. "But I think what's been great, if you're going to try to spin a positive on Cooper being out, is it's given us a chance to see what we believed in Josh Reynolds, and that he's a starting-caliber receiver, certainly isn't too big for him."The Rams' passing balance has been a major asset in their unbeaten start. Woods (672 yards receiving) and Cooks (643 yards receiving) are both on pace for 1,000-yard seasons, while running back Todd Gurley is a major factor in the passing game again with 30 catches for 351 yards."Those three are very good receivers that can do everything Marshon Lattimore Jersey White ," McVay said of Woods, Cooks and Kupp. "I think their skill sets complement each other really well."NOTES: CB Sam Shields missed practice Thursday with an illness. ... LB Trevon Young returned to full participation in practice. ... Defensive coordinator Wade Phillips jokingly referred to this weekend's trip to New Orleans as "another revenge game for me." Phillips was the Saints' 38-year-old interim coach for four games in 1985, the first of his six stints as an NFL head coach. "Then they shipped me out of there, so I'm still mad at them," Phillips said laughingly. ... Dante Fowler said his first full practice with the Rams went well, and he is optimistic about being able to contribute Sunday if the Rams put him on the field. Los Angeles acquired the pass-rusher from Jacksonville in a trade Tuesday. "That's probably one of the easiest positions to come in and play," Phillips said. "You say, 'Hey, you go rush the passer on this down.' But he's picked up everything well. Seems like a sharp guy. Picked up everything so far. We may use him in our first- and second-down defense, too."
Randall Cobb said it and the Cowboys did it." for SiriusXMThe 2019 NFL Draft got going on Thursday night and as there has been every year Demarcus Lawrence Jersey White , there was a watch party with the Dallas Cowboys. This is typically an event where fans can come, play a few games, and snag a few autographs. One of the players on hand was new wide receiver Randall Cobb Cheap Jourdan Lewis Youth Jersey , who also spoke to the media for the first time since he joined America’s Team.Cobb obviously discussed joining the Cowboys and everything that went into it all. Interestingly one thing that he shared was that he told Dak Prescott back in February to go get him (in free agency).Dallas was in the market for a slot receiver basically once free agency began, but Cole Beasley departing for the Buffalo Bills cemented the notion that they had to grab someone. Thankfully Cobb was available as he’s a player with some special skills.Interestingly enough Cobb also noted that Beasley’s departure likely played a role in his arrival in Big D. Things tend to work out like that sometimes. Here’s to Randall Cobb having a successful career with the Cowboys. Travis Frederick‘s comeback continues day by day, week by week and month by month. The Cowboys center plans to play in 2019 after sitting out the 2018 season while recovering from Guillain-Barre syndrome Amari Cooper Jersey White , an autoimmune disease that attack the nervous system. He has returned to on-field work for the first time since training camp in 2018.“It’s been great. He’s done so well,” Garrett said. “We talked about this a lot last year when he was out last year and not able to play, just the impact that he had Taco Charlton Jersey White , the leadership that he demonstrated, not only with the offensive line but with the offense and with our whole team. He just did a fantastic job. And towards the end of the year he started feeling better and better.“He’s been able to go through our entire offseason program up to this point. He was on the field with the guys last week. It was good to see him out there in a stance, running football plays. He looks really good. He’s an outstanding player and an outstanding person for us. He’s been a great leader for us. Excited to get him back.”Joe Looney did a fine job replacing Frederick last season Womens Amari Cooper Jersey , but he’s not a four-time Pro Bowler and one-time All-Pro. The Cowboys missed Frederick.

Russo-USA TODAY SportsI understand that hero worship of professional athletes to some people isn’t valid, but I don’t care. On March 24, 1976 a football hero was born. On this day 43 years ago Peyton Williams Manning began his football career. Over his time on the gridiron, he would go on to break multiple records and play the game of football in a way no one else has since. It didn’t hurt that Peyton Manning was born to NFL royalty. The always underrated Archie Manning nurtured all of his sons to be the best that they could be playing football. Later Peyton would become the savior of the Indianapolis Colts in 1998 – a mediocre franchise heading nowhere. In short order, they would become the best, and in 2007, NFL champions. In a town that mostly revolved around basketball Denico Autry Jersey Stitched , Manning revolutionized football and turned Indianapolis into a football town. Colts fans can remember Manning connecting downfield with Marvin Harrison or Reggie Wayne, with flawless accuracy. In fact, he executed near perfectly throughout his career and gave Colts fans exactly what they needed. After 18 seasons in the NFL, Manning left behind a legacy that Colts fans will revere forever. 71,940 passing yards, 539 touchdowns five MVP awards and two Super Bowls are just some of Manning’s many accolades. But putting aside records, what made Manning the quarterback of the ages was his sheer intelligence, professionalism and tireless dedication. There was simply no one like him. To honor who I think is the greatest quarterback of all time, I reached out to the Twittershpere to inquire as to what Manning meant to them. As I expected, he has changed the lives of many. Here are some of the best responses. In his retirement speech Manning said, “When someone thoroughly exhausts an experience they can’t help but revere it. I revere football. I love the game.” What Manning brought to Indianapolis Youth Skai Moore Jersey , and to Colts fans, will never be forgotten. We revere you, Peyton. Thank you. How can the legendary Howard Mudd help Smith’s development in year 2?"The Colts shocked many in the football world when they decided to move on from offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmo this offseason. The Colts had one of the best offensive lines in football under DeGuglielmo as they gave up the least amount of sacks in the league with a line that consisted of two rookies. He played a big part in the team’s success but Frank Reich wanted a more experienced and technical coach going forward. After a long and anticipated search, the Colts decided to bring in Chris Strausser from Denver. Strausser has 31 years of coaching offensive line under his belt and has worked with many pro prospects in his long career. On top of adding Strausser, Ballard and Reich were able to convince legendary coach Howard Mudd to come out of retirement and return to the team as a Senior Offensive Assistant. Mudd is one of the godfathers of offensive line play but he has a very unique method when it comes to offensive line technique that should help with the development of this young line. In this piece, we are going to go in depth and look at how the teachings of both Mudd and Strausser can help the development of the young right tackle Braden Smith. The “Mudd Technique”So what is the “Mudd Technique” and why is it different? To get the answers to these questions, I asked Erik Turner— founder of Cover1.net and film analyst for the Athletic— for some insight on Mudd and his teachings. Turner wrote an excellent piece on Washington Offensive Tackle Kaleb McGary on how Mudd— and Chris Strausser— coached him in this unique technique. So what is the biggest difference in this technique from traditional offensive line coaching? According to Turner, the most important aspect of this system is aggressiveness. “He believes in aggressive pass sets. Why wait to start the fight— like typical vertical pass sets—he wants his lineman to jump pass rushers and take the fight to them.” Look at this video here posted by Turner to further explain that aggressive mindset. The other biggest aspect of this technique is the ability to adjust on the fly. “He wants his lineman to be problem solvers, not robots,” noted Turner. “Do whatever it takes to keep the offensive lineman’s body between the rusher and the quarterback.” He prefers his players to be smart but simplistic in what they look to accomplish. Be versatile and nuanced in your technique but understand that the only goal is to keep your quarterback clean no matter what. Again, look at this video posted by Turner to understand how Mudd’s lineman practice this technique. Whether it is an “ass block” or driving players into the ground Skai Moore Jersey Stitched , Mudd’s philosophy is simple. Keep the quarterback clean no matter what. Expect to see more non-traditional techniques from the Colts this season with aggressive pass sets and more unconventional blocking to reach the overall goal. The Chris Strausser EffectSo Howard Mudd is the Senior Offensive Assistant but Chris Strausser is the offensive line coach. How do his methods differ from Mudd’s? Not much really. When Strausser was the Offensive Line coach at Washington University, Mudd lived nearby and served in an advisory role for the team. Mudd was actually the reference the Colts used when considering to hire Strausser for the offensive line coach job.So there is already a built in relationship between the two. Strausser is an experienced coach in his own right as he has coached offensive line play for 31 years, 28 years at the collegiate level. Once he met and developed a relationship with Mudd though, he quickly began instituting his techniques and teachings in his own style. We saw it earlier with a few of the Washington clips above but what about last season when Strausser was the offensive line coach for the Broncos? Did the “Mudd Technique” show up when he was away from Howard Mudd’s tutelage? The short answer is yes, plenty of these techniques popped up on Broncos film last season.Lets look at Left Tackle Garrett Bolles and how he used these techniques last season. Looking first at his aggressive sets, he utilized this a lot. He attacked talented pass rusher Myles Garrett all game when they faced the Browns and overall had a very solid game while using that technique. Here are a few examples of his aggressive sets in that game:As for the other major point in the “Mudd Technique”, Bolles shows that he knows how to think on the fly and find his block by any means necessary. Look at this next clip as he shows off the patented “ass block” that Mudd talked about earlier in this piece:Although Chris Strausser is the Offensive Line coach for this team, he has been influenced by Howard Mudd in recent years and has adopted many of his teachings and techniques.Impact on Braden SmithSo to this point, we have talked a lot about Howard Mudd and Chris Strausser and their philosophies for offensive lineman. How do those philosophies affect the offensive tackles of the Colts though? Let’s look at one player in particular, Braden Smith. He is a very unique player on the Colts line as he was drafted to play guard before moving to offensive tackle early in the season due to injuries.Smith locked down the starting right tackle spot and became a valuable starter on one of the best offensive lines in football. He should benefit the most though from the teachings of Strausser and Mudd this season, as he had his fair share of struggles in typical vertical pass sets and was at his best when he was aggressive and attacking opposing pass rushers. Let’s look at a few examples:Smith was at his best last season when he could attack. He was an excellent run blocker and his best pass blocking reps came in the play action game. Looking at his run blocking Youth Anthony Walker Jersey , he is a big and powerful player who is athletic enough to move players whenever he wants to.The core fundamental belief in the “Mudd Technique” is to block in every pass set like it is play action. Be aggressive and attack like you would on a play action play call. Smith attacks on this play action play call and shows that this could be a style that he could play well in. More attacking and less vertical sets could benefit him.Unfortunately for Smith and the Colts last year, they asked him to play more passively and do more vertical sets in his blocking. He still put together a great rookie season but a lot of his struggles came in these sets. His kick step was rather slow and he allowed players to get into his body too often. Look how much he gets pushed back here by the much smaller Dee Ford. The passive vertical set by Smith along with his raw footwork at the position, allows Ford to drive him back into the pocket. You can see how uncomfortable he was last season in these sets and how much he was thinking in his poorer games. When a player is thinking more about his technique rather than protecting the quarterback, that is where mistakes happen. Getting Smith into a more comfortable system where he has to be, as Mudd put it, “a problem solver.” Rather than perfecting a traditional technique, Smith will be able to focus on just the main goal of keeping his quarterback clean.ConclusionThe additions of Chris Strausser and Howard Mudd should really help this offensive line jump from one of the best in the league to perhaps the best in the league. The biggest question mark or player to develop though is Braden Smith at right tackle. A conventional offensive line coach would likely have their hands full with a player like Smith as it is so rare that a player plays tackle in the NFL after rarely playing it in college. Mudd is quite different though.“(Mudd) is not a conventional thinker and he doesn’t want his players to play that way. So his methods can apply to any type of player. What he teaches is unconventional so even the savviest technicians may struggle with what he teaches because its not what they were taught their entire career. He wants his players and coaches to ‘dare to be different.’ He wants his players to think outside of the box.” - TurnerGoing into his second year in the NFL, Smith won’t have to be focusing on perfecting his kick step or polishing his technique as much. He’ll be able to get back to doing what he does best which is attacking on the outside and keeping his quarterback clean. This should be a major aspect in his development and I fully expect him to make a huge leap this upcoming season as a result.
Johnny Football is heading to Memphis to resume his football career.Johnny Manziel signed with the Alliance of American Football on Saturday night and will join the Memphis Express. The quarterback’s rights belonged to San Antonio of the spring league Baker Mayfield Jersey White , but that team declined to sign him and Manziel then was free to join any of the other seven clubs. He was awarded through the AAF’s waiver system to the Express, who have a league-worst 1-5 record.“We are pleased to welcome Johnny Manziel to Alliance of American Football, which we’ve always described as a league of opportunity for talented players to launch or revitalize their pro football careers,” Alliance co-founder Bill Polian said in a statement released by the league. “We completed extensive background work to determine whether it would be appropriate for Johnny to play this season, and after consulting with many people familiar with his situation, we concluded that it would be good for him to resume his pro football career here at The Alliance.”Manziel is expected to report to the Express on Sunday.“Welcome to the 901 @JManziel2,” the team wrote on its official Twitter page. The 2012 Heisman Trophy winner at Texas A&M had his contract with the CFL terminated this offseason. The Canadian league said he violated his agreement with it, but has offered no specifics.Manziel was a first-round draft pick by Cleveland in 2014, but quickly fizzled out there with seven touchdowns and seven interceptions in 14 games, including eight starts. The Browns released him in March 2016He was 2-6 as a starter with the Montreal Alouettes last season Denzel Ward Jersey , completing 106 of 165 passes (64.2 percent) for 1,290 yards with five TDs and seven interceptions. He also ran for 215 yards on 29 carries as Montreal (5-13) missed the CFL playoffs. In Memphis, Manziel could get an opportunity to play quickly. Express quarterback Zach Mettenberger injured an ankle Saturday on the first play from scrimmage and was unable to return to the team’s 22-9 loss at Salt Lake. He was replaced by Brandon Silver, who went 23 of 37 for 242 yards and one touchdown with one fumble. The status of Mettenberger, who had replaced Christian Hackenberg as Memphis’ starter, was uncertain so coach Mike Singletary could look to Manziel to lead his squad down the stretch. Hackenberg remains on the roster, but is 32 of 62 for 277 yards with no TDs and three interceptions.FOX Fantasy AutoForm a Racing Team, Compete for PrizesPlay Now! CINCINNATI (AP) — Bengals owner Mike Brown must decide whether to bring in another newcomer to coach his team, or return to his pattern of trusting someone he already knows well.Whoever gets the job will inherit a roster on the cusp of significant change.Brown parted ways with head coach Marvin Lewis on Monday after 16 seasons without a playoff win. Lewis’ stay in Cincinnati — the second-longest active tenure behind New England’s Bill Belichick — demonstrated how much the owner would rather stick with what’s comfortable than leave his comfort zone and try someone new.“It will be interesting to see,” linebacker Nick Vigil said. “We haven’t had change around here in 16 years.”The question is how much change Brown will tolerate. He has a history of accepting as little change and as much continuity as possible. He elevated Dave Shula from the staff to head coach in 1992 Jarvis Landry Jersey , Bruce Coslet in 1996, and Dick LeBeau in 2000, all the while failing to get an elusive playoff berth. He went against his history by hiring Lewis in 2003, and he got a playoff appearance only two years later — a lesson in how major change can work. The two formed a close bond that was integral to Lewis’ 16-year tenure despite an 0-7 mark in the playoffs, the worst in NFL history.Brown has several options for his next coach that could fit his comfort zone. For instance, he’s familiar with Hue Jackson, who spent eight years on Lewis’ staff in a variety of roles — receivers coach, defensive backs coach, running backs coach, offensive coordinator and special assistant on defense. The Bengals quickly rehired Jackson when the Browns fired him after he won only three games in two-plus years.Cleveland had a resurgence when Jackson left Myles Garrett Jersey , winning five of its last seven games, including both against Cincinnati. Hiring Jackson would send a message to fans that the franchise won’t change all that much.Brown also is familiar with Vance Joseph, who was fired Monday by the Broncos . Joseph was the defensive backs coach in Cincinnati from 2014-15. Brown also could consider someone off the current staff, although that again would reinforce the message that not much change is in the works.Perhaps Brown will try to bring in someone from a winning organization, as he did with Lewis, hoping that jump-starts ticket sales. The Bengals’ attendance has fallen each of the past three years and ranks second-to-last in the league. In any case, change is coming.“It’s pretty weird to know you have a new (defensive) coordinator, a new head coach, everybody,” linebacker Preston Brown said. “You never know what could happen around here.”The roster turnover could intensify as well.Lewis had the youngest team in his 16 seasons. Veterans got hurt early Jim Brown Jersey White , forcing players into roles before they were ready. Cincinnati was among the hardest-hit teams in the league, with 18 players on injured reserve by season’s end, including quarterback Andy Dalton and receiver A.J. Green.Dalton and Green are entering their ninth seasons. They led the Bengals to a club-record five straight playoff appearances from 2011-15, but they lost in the first round each time. Their chances for a playoff run are starting to run out.The defense has been led by linebacker Vontaze Burfict for the past seven years, but he may have reached the end of the line. He opened the season with yet another suspension from the league and played in only seven games because of concussions and a chronic hip problem. Burfict finished with only 33 tackles and no sacks.Cincinnati fell to the bottom of the AFC North for only the second time under Lewis, and it’ll be a challenge to escape the basement in the near future.Baltimore won the division with the league’s top defense and rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson. Pittsburgh expects to contend for the title next year with one of the NFL’s top offenses built around Ben Roethlisberger. The Browns jumped ahead of the Bengals as Baker Mayfield set a record for touchdown passes by a rookie. In many ways, it’s like 2003 in Cincinnati again. And the owner is facing the same type of choice in his next head coach: Stay with the familiar, or go with something entirely new?
For all of the uncertainty around the U.S. China trade war Womens Nike Air Max , the Trump administration has at least made one of its objectives clear: Bring manufacturing jobs back to American workers.Currently, 98% of the shoes sold in the U.S. are made abroad, with China accounting for about 70% of the total, so there's no denying that an additional 25% tariff — as the president has threatened to impose — would hit the footwear industry hard. But even so, manufacturers say the move is unlikely to prompt a mass influx of shoe production within domestic supply chains, despite Trump's recent tweet exhorting companies to get out of China if they want to avoid the taxes. (“Make your product at home in the USA and there is no tariff," it read. "You can also buy from a non-tariffed country instead of China.”) For one thing, much of the talent and infrastructure needed to support the multibillion-dollar industry has long since moved overseas. And for another, producing even a single pair of shoes is far more complex a process than most pro-tariff arguments imply."To make an athletic sneaker, for example, we might actually use 20-plus factories — definitely more than a dozen," said Sabrina Finlay, CEO of Otabo, a manufacturer for emerging and leading shoe brands. "We might be doing some part of it in China cheap Nike sneakers , some in the U.S. and some in Europe to actually get to a finished product. And so to say that we're going to get around this issue [by shutting] down the primary assembly factory in China, it's not a solution."Otabo practices what it calls "collaborative manufacturing," working closely with a network of factories around the world and connecting them with the brands they work with, including NOBULL and Kujo Yardwear. In one U.S. factory, Finlay said, she's witnessed firsthand how valuable an international supply chain can be, since the company has brought over processes that it has developed in China to help improve the factory's technology and quality control, diversify its offerings and add efficiencies. "We see this as our future," she said. "This is how we actually grow more manufacturing in the U.S. It's how we grow manufacturing across international communities."The footwear industry has been among the most vocal opponents of the new set of proposed tariffs — which would affect about $300 billion worth of Chinese imports, including most consumer goods — in part because shoe imports are already so heavily taxed, with existing duties averaging 11% and topping out at 67.5%. On Monday, more than 170 prominent shoe brands and retailers, including Nike, Foot Locker and Brooks Sports signed a public letter to President Donald Trump condemning the potential additional taxes as “catastrophic for our consumers Cheap Men Air Max , our companies and the American economy as a whole.”Several of the biggest shoemakers —Nike, Adidas and Puma among them — have in recent years shifted some of their production to Vietnam and other countries as labor costs in China have risen, and will likely continue to do so as the trade war uncertainty continues. Doing so, though, requires significant resources to invest in manufacturing infrastructure and training — something most smaller brands don't have access to.These companies, said Finlay, will likely bear the full brunt of the tariffs if they are imposed, and be forced to pass on costs to the consumer. "If you are a smaller brand, and you rely heavily on the cash flow from one production order to get to the next, those brands are definitely reacting in a very different way," she said. "They're holding back and prioritizing better-selling SKUs over other SKUs. They're generally more cautious about how they're going to launch and how they're going to spend their money in case something doesn't work out well."The threat of higher import costs — and of consumers' having less to spend on shoes if other prices go up, too — also discourages spending in other arenas, so brands might hold off on hiring staff, moving to a new office or investing in new manufacturing.According to the Footwear Distributors and Retailers of America Cheap Nike Air , an additional 25% tariff would amount to a $7 billion annual tab for U.S. shoe customers. Already, several publicly listed retailers have warned investors about the potential fallout, including Kohl's and J.C. Penney, both of which lowered their earnings forecasts this week, citing the potential costs. Kohl's indicated that it might absorb some of these itself to stay competitive, since its customers tend to be value-driven, and could go elsewhere if prices become too steep."Our teams are working very closely with our vendors to make sure that collectively, we've got a strong plan," said CEO Michelle Gass on Tuesday's earnings call. "So that's been of the highest priority for our merchant leaders and merchant teams. But I think it's important for us wherever this nets out, we're looking at this from a long-term standpoint, and we're looking to make sure that we can protect the customer and protect our market share."Companies of all sizes will have to make this judgment, keeping in mind that next year's election could change the equation entirely, and those with fewer resources to work with also have fewer options."In the near term, as far as 'How do you get around this?' You don't Cheap Nike Free ," said Finlay.Correction: This article previously listed several brands no longer associated with Otabo. The write-up called attention to a discrepancy in the way Nike, at one time, wrote its contracts for female track and field athletes. The story revealed that Nike reduced the payments of female runners — and sometimes paid them nothing at all — if they were unable to compete for various reasons, including pregnancy and the subsequent postpartum period.Nike this week admitted that it had previously reduced the contracts of female runners but said it amended the policy last year.On Friday, the brand said it now recognizes "we can go even further.""Moving forward, our contracts for female athletes will include written terms that reinforce our policy," a statement read on the firm's corporate site. "Our mission has always been to support athletes as they strive to be their best. We want to make it clear today that we support women as they decide how to be both great mothers and great athletes. What he didn’t get right is the assessment Washington would fit the Panthers offense better than actual Panthers selection D.J. Moore. Honestly I think most people would have thought Washington’s game would be a better fit. Moore’s after the catch ability is as good as advertised. Kudos for getting the position correct though.Based on rookie season performance it would appear the Panthers made the better selection. Moore outperformed Washington by a significant amount.James Washington, WR, PittsburghOne season doesn’t make a career, a lot could change, especially for Washington now that Antonio Brown has left Pittsburgh. Moore likewise should get more targets with Devin Funchess now playing for the Colts. Looking back at the comments from the mock draft post we did have a couple CSR members who accurately predicted James Washington’s draft position. Well done! Looking at the top ten of the 2018 SBN writers’ mock it would appear many other writers didn’t do as well as the team they were picking for. At the top Baker Mayfield was the better selection for the Browns. Now he has Odell Beckham to throw the ball too. I’m very positive Giants fans are happy they didn’t pass on Saquon Barkley like the Giants blogger did. I’m not saying anything against Chubb because twelve sacks as a rookie is impressive. Yet in spite of Chubb’s double digit sacks how can you not say Barkley was the better pick? The rookie was amazing racking up 2 Brian Burns Jersey ,000 all purpose yards and fifteen touchdowns. He is the whole package. So while agree picking a quarterback was also not the way to go, the writer missed on Barkley. The Browns writer at number four didn’t make the same mistake. Imagine if the Browns has somehow landed Baker Mayfield and Saquan Barkley in last year’s draft? The Coltsblogger was the only one to correctly predict their team’s actual pick. Offensive guard Quentin Nelson has proven to be everything expected. Kudos to the Buccaneers blogger as well for not passing on safety Derwin James like so many NFL teams did. Beyond that there’s not much else to be said about this mock given it went off the rails early. I will end the flashback with a look at who everyone passed on, the top five remaining players after the first round. You see anyone here that was worthy a first round pick?

The Jaguars were expected to bolster their pass rush at some point in the draft, especially if one of the premier defenders slid and that’s exactly what happened with Allen.“Good” Josh Allen, as I will refer to him for now, was one of the best pass rushers and defenders in the SEC last season. Allen played with both his hand on the ground as an edge rusher and also standing up and floating around like a linebacker, to the point where most considered Allen the perfect fit as a 3-4 outside linebacker https://www.jaguarsfanstore.com/Yannick-Ngakoue-Jersey , but he’s also drawn comparisons to Minnesota Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr. For the Jaguars, I’m not sure how Allen would fit in their 4-3 look. He could line up as a defensive end on passing plays and perhaps play outside linebacker on run downs. With the addition of Dom Capers as an adviser, maybe the Jaguars start to shift to some 3-4 looks on their defensive front.Quick Scouting Report from Filip Prus (@JaxonFil):After arriving on campus at Kentucky at 208 pounds and not many offers as an over-looked recruit, Allen has become a self-made prospect, working his way to becoming one of the most fearsome and productive pass rushers in the SEC. Allen is yolked with bulging biceps and a barrel chest and has worked tirelessly in the weight room to get to 6’5” 260lbs this past year Carson Tinker Color Rush Jersey , allowing him to rack up 17 sacks. Allen wins with an explosive first step that he pairs with ethereal closing speed and has registered a 9.84 RAS as a DE. Allen plays with a tireless motor and doesn’t come off the field, likely factoring in as the Jaguars’ starting SAM in base downs and moving to edge rusher in pass rush situations. Much like Ngakoue, Allen has a knack for forcing fumbles and gives the Jaguars a ton of versatility on defense moving forward.Overall, the Jaguars are getting an elite athlete at a premium position and an exceptional person off the field. Allen is married with one son and would participate in Special Olympics events after practice and volunteer at the Indian Summer Camp for children’s cancer survivors. Allen’s non-sport talent is cooking and he plans on being a sports analyst after his football career. In my conversations, I have heard glowing reviews of Allen’s character and Jacksonville seems to be getting a tremendous culture guy. Several opposing SEC tackles have listed Allen as the toughest player they’ve ever gone up against DJ Chark Jersey , and Lance Zierlein said earlier on NFL Network that a colleague of his who is Director of Analytics for an NFL team whose analytics had Aaron Donald as the best player in his draft have Allen pegged as being the best prospect in this class. The Jacksonville Jaguars are interviewing former Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Todd Monken on Wednesday, according to Jeff Prosser of 1010XL. On his daily morning show, The Drill, Prosser indicated that it didn’t seem to have been reported yet, but sources have told him that the Jaguars were having Monken in for an interview for their vacant offensive coordinator position. If that name sounds familiar https://www.jaguarsfanstore.com/Dede-Westbrook-Jersey , it’s because Monken spent four seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars with Jack Del Rio, from 2007 through 2010 as the team’s wide receivers coach. Monken left after Del Rio was fired and took a job with Oklahoma State as the offensive coordinator and then had a stint as the Southern Miss head coach, where the team improved each season under his watch ending with a 9-5 season and bowl victory with Nick Mullens at quarterback.Monken made his way back to the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with Dirk Koetter, who he worked with with the Jaguars. During his time with the Bucs, their offense from 2016 through 2018 ranked 18th Jermey Parnell Color Rush Jersey , 9th and 3rd respectively. A lot of those rankings are on the back of the passing game however, as the Bucs were one of the worst teams rushing the football.
The Cowboys have kept David Irving on their roster https://www.dallascowboysfanshop.com/Rico-Gathers-Jersey , exercising patience with the defensive lineman despite his continued absences.Irving has taken another leave from the team as he continues to deal with off-the-field issues, Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News reports.Irving has not attended any recent practices or meetings. He has played only two games this season, last seeing action in an Oct. 21 game against Washington. Irving sprained an ankle in that game Geoff Swaim Jersey , and the Cowboys continue to list him on their injury report as not practicing because of an ankle injury.Irving missed the Cowboys’ offseason program and training camp while in a custody battle with his ex-girlfriend and while going through substance abuse rehabilitation in Los Angeles. He served a four-game suspension to open the season. The Cowboys have continued to carry him on their 53-player roster, meaning they continue to pay him. He makes $2.9 million this season and becomes an unrestricted free agent in the spring. When the Dallas Cowboys drafted Leighton Vander Esch with their first-round selection back in April there were many who questioned the move.Nine games into the season, the Cowboys look like geniuses. Vander Esch has continued to impress week after week and put on the finest performance of his young career during last week’s win in Philadelphia. It was such a top-notch game by LVE that he’s been named NFC Defensive Player of the Week! There were some outstanding moments for Vander Esch in the first road win of the season for the Cowboys. He recorded his first interception of the season and made arguably the play of the game when he tackled Corey Clement on a critical 3rd and 2 that forced the Eagles to lose five yards where they would ultimately be unsuccessful in converting.Of all the players of the week for last week in the NFL Anthony Brown Color Rush Jersey , Vander Esch is the only rookie. In fact, as the mothership notes, Vander Esch is the first Dallas Cowboys rookie to win DPOW since Sean Lee did back in 2010. The General hauled in the honor after the Cowboys visited Indianapolis where just like Vander Esch did in Philadelphia https://www.dallascowboysfanshop.com/Joe-Looney-Jersey , Sean recorded the first (and second) interception of his career. The Cowboys look like they have one of the next star linebackers on their hands. They also have Jaylon Smith playing right next to him. The future looks bright in the middle of the defense. Congratulations to Leighton Vander Esch!

I personally prefer the 1940’s throwback alternates, but I will always have a soft spot for the orange jerseys for their having played a memorable part in my childhood.Frank Gore is still in the league, which is impressive. He’s a Hall of Famer for sure, potentially a first-ballot player. His ability to maintain a high level of play for as long as he has is mind-boggling.The Bears got bailed out when Albert Wilson dropped a third-and-six pass from Brock Osweiler that, surprisingly enough, hit him right in the hands. Their defense wasn’t fantastic by any means, so to have the Dolphins botch a relatively simple play served as a sigh of relief.Mitchell Trubisky wasn’t incredibly sharp in his first drive of the game, as he made a bad read on his first throw to Allen Robinson, on top of overthrowing Anthony Miller on what would have been a huge gain.Kyle Fuller has been very disappointing to start the 2018 season, and that was made evident as he allowed a 25-yard gain to Jakeem Grant, despite getting called for holding. He has not lived up to his contract at all so far this year. Leonard Floyd straight up hit Danny Amendola with a nasty slam. For wrestling fans out there, it appeared to be a gutwrench suplex transitioned into a DDT. Lots of similarities to Pete Dunne’s Bitter End.A terrible defensive drive ended with a five-yard touchdown pass from Osweiler to Nick O’Leary on the flat route. The coverage was simply horrendous on the play, and the pass rush could have been much better, as well.Taylor Gabriel is a shifty gadget player who offers a lot of play calling versatility. He offers a lot of value on screens and jet sweeps with his blazing speed.Mitchell Trubisky’s athleticism is one of the most underrated aspects of his game. He was able to scramble his way to an eight-yard gain in the first quarter, and he followed it up a few plays later by rolling out to evade pressure and hit Tarik Cohen on the screen for a seven-yard gain.My heart always feels nice and warm when Matt Nagy calls a shovel pass to Trey Burton.Reshad Jones is one of the best safeties in the NFL, and he showed it when he brought Tarik Cohen down on a fourth-and-one pitch to stuff the Bears. A rough start for Chicago’s offense continued.Frank Gore, again, is still good. He broke two tackles and carried Kyle Fuller along for a few yards on an 18-yard shovel pass.Bryce Callahan did a great job of sniffing out the screen Sherrick McManis Color Rush Jersey , aggressively running downhill to bring down Albert Wilson for a five-yard loss near the end of the first quarter. He has been one of the best nickelbacks in the league to start the 2018 season.Bobby Massie allowed Jonathan Woodard to get inside leverage, throwing him off balance and bring Trubisky down for a seven-yard sack. Massie admittedly hasn’t been terrible this year, but don’t expect him to be back in 2019.Nothing went right offensively for Chicago early on. The play calling was poor, the overall execution was lackluster, the blocking was shabby and Trubisky was unable to hit the side of a barn. Miami doesn’t have a bad defense by any means, but this isn’t an elite unit that the Bears were struggling against.Nice job by Bilal Nichols to chase down Brock Osweiler and bring him down at the second level. He has been a pleasant surprise so far this year.Roquan Smith is a stud. He showed off the athleticism to chase down Kenyan Drake on the slide and match him step for step, and he managed to break down to tackle him while keeping his hips squared to prevent Drake from juking him out.Taylor Gabriel tracked down a dime from Trubisky to grab a 48-yard gain in tight coverage. It was a great pass and a great catch that gave the Bears some much-needed offensive spark.Jordan Howard fumbled on the goal line. Power back extraordinaire Jordan Howard fumbled on the goal line. Pro Bowl running back who has two 1,000-yard seasons to his name Jordan Howard fumbled on the goal line. What a terrible first half. The run defense was horrible, the pass rush - against a terrible offensive line, no less - was nonexistent, the coverage was mediocre and the offense was simply dreadful. This was not the performance of a playoff team.Roughly 30 minutes after I trashed Kyle Fuller, he picked up his first interception off the season. It was a bad throw by Osweiler and a poor route by DeVante Parker, and Fuller took advantage of it, tracking the ball down very well.Talk about a hot start to the second half. Trubisky picked up 28-yard with his feet, climbing the pocket and using his speed to gain some yards. The Bears then got bailed out by a pass interference call by Minkah Fitzpatrick which brought them into the red zone. You know that thing I said about the shovel pass to Trey Burton? I felt that same feeling and more when Burton picked up a nine-yard touchdown.Three plays, 75 yards and a touchdown in just over a minute and a half. Not a bad start to the second half.Kyle Fuller did it again. He timed his jumping on the out route perfectly and picking up his second interception of the game. My take regarding his poor play is not aging well. One play later, Trubisky hit Allen Robinson in the end zone on a 12-yard deep slant to give the Bears a 14-7 lead. Just like that, the momentum changed entirely towards the Bears in just a four-minute span.Miami completed a lot of passes on flat routes throughout the game. Those could convert into turnovers if the Bears ran man-to-man coverage more often.Bryce Callahan continued his very good game with a nickel blitz off the edge to force an incomplete pass and a failed third-down conversion. Jason Sanders followed that up with a 50-yard field goal, cutting down Chicago’s lead to four points. Nonetheless, Callahan’s speed off the edge helped stop the Dolphins from tying the game up.Have a day, Taylor Gabriel! Trubisky hit him deep on a go route that was placed perfectly en route to a 54-yard gain. Tarik Cohen is so fun to watch. He ran the misdirection through an absolutely massive hole and ran around Miami’s defense on his way to a 21-yard touchdown. Three plays. 75 yards. Touchdown. One minute. There’s the fast-paced, high-octane offense that we hoped to see when the season began.Roughing the passer penalties have been horrendous this year, so it was only a matter of time that the Bears got hit by one. Still, that doesn’t change the fact that Leonard Floyd’s quarterback hit - if you can call it that - in the third quarter should not have been a penalty.Jordan Howard is a poor man’s Frank Gore.Roquan Smith did a good job of abandoning his assignment in zone coverage to rush Brock Osweiler. His pressure forced Osweiler to panic and throw the ball away, resulting in another failed third-down conversion.Cohen is unreal! He ran an angle route and caught the ball with space around him, outrunning defenders and picking up a 51-yard gain. He is the best running back on Chicago’s roster Charles Leno Jersey , and part of that is because of how versatile he is. He is so valuable to this offense.Allen Robinson showed off incredible body control when he caught a back-shoulder fade along the sideline for a 21-yard gain. One play after a poorly-called Trey Burton pass interference penalty cancelled out a Tarik Cohen touchdown on the flat, Trubisky threw an interception to T.J. McDonald in the end zone. He still has issues with forcing throws and staring down one target.Albert Wilson was wide open on an in route, and Osweiler hit him for a 28-yard gain. A few plays later, he caught a screen for a 43-yard touchdown. Poor tackling attempts by Kyle Fuller, Eddie Jackson and Adrian Amos allowed the speedy target to take it home. The Bears got bailed out on third down in the fourth quarter when Minkah Fitzpatrick got called for his second pass interference call of the day.Speaking of bailed out, Reshad Jones nearly picked off a terrible pass on the run in double coverage by Trubisky. Again, he has to get better at making more than one read on a consistent basis.Anthony Miller picked up his second touchdown catch of the year on a 29-yard catch in which he had acres of space around him to make the grab. Trubisky’s three touchdowns marks the second-highest total of his career.Just as the Bears grabbed total control of the game with a long and drawn out offensive drive, the Dolphins struck back with a 75-yard curl to - guess who - Albert Wilson. He broke two tackles and evaded several other defenders to tie up the game for Miami. The Bears’ defense was incredibly tired in this game. Their tackling effort was poor, and their pass rush was way worse than it should have been. If they had played as well as they normally do,then this game would have been a relatively simple win.Tarik Cohen, who was fantastic all game, fumbled the ball on Chicago’s side of the field and gave the Dolphins the ball with less than two minutes left in regulation. What a heartbreaker. The Bears did a great job of shutting down Miami’s offense on the late fourth-quarter drive. They knew that the Dolphins would target the red hot Albert Wilson, and they did everything in their power to stop him. What a terrible turn of bad luck for the Bears. Adrian Amos deflected a pass intended for Danny Amendola, and Kenny Stills caught the tipped ball. Because why not?Old man Frank Gore ran right over the Bears’ defense for a 32-yard gain to put the Dolphins inside of Chicago’s own 10-yard line. What a pathetic lack of effort by a seemingly dominant Bears defense. Akiem Hicks stripped the ball out of Kenyan Drake’s hands on the ONE-YARD LINE, and Eddie Goldman jumped on the ball to give the Bears one last chance to win the game. Wow.Jordan Howard, who was quiet all game, broke free up the middle for a 19-yard gain. That’s the Howard that we all know and love. And right after that, Howard picked up a gain of 15 yards right up the middle. He showed up when it mattered most. The Bears relied on Cody Parkey to make a 53-yard field goal to win the game, and it didn’t work. Obviously. The Bears should have been way more aggressive in trying to get better field position, and it predictably backfired. What a pathetic game. A Bears defense with Khalil Mack, Akiem Hicks and Roquan Smith on it was destroyed by an offense with Brock Osweiler, an ancient Frank Gore and Albert Wilson as its stars. And with that, the Bears have lost their division lead in a game that should have been an easy win. This is not the performance of a playoff team. The Bears take on the New England Patriots next week at home at noon CT. Stay tuned for what figures to be a mauling.Jacob Infante is a Chicago Bears writer at SB Nation’s Windy City Gridiron.
