Another day http://www.coltsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-kemoko-turay-jersey , another Cincinnati grand slam.
Jose Peraza kept up the parade of slams, sending Matt Harvey and the Reds over the NL Central-leading Milwaukee Brewers 8-2 Sunday.
Peraza connected in the sixth inning for the Reds’ major league-leading ninth slam this year, tying the single-season franchise record set in 2002. It was Cincinnati’s second in two games and third in the last eight – pitcher Mike Lorenzen had a pinch-hit slam Saturday, and pitcher Anthony DeSclafani went deep with the bases loaded on June 24 against the Cubs. ”I just tried to hit the ball,” the shortstop said. ”When I hit the ball in the sky, I say, `Wow, it’s a home run.’ Everybody is happy.”
Peraza hit his first career slam, tagging reliever Aaron Wilkerson.
Eight different Reds have hit grand slams. Adam Duvall is the only player with two.
The last-place Reds have won 11 of 14, and the last eight of 11 against teams that were in first place when their series started.
”We know we can play with these guys (division leaders) Ty Montgomery Packers Jersey ,” manager Jim Riggleman said. ”We’ve got to go through those guys and win our share.”
Harvey (4-5) allowed two hits in 5 2/3 innings and won his third straight start as the Reds salvaged a split of the four-game series. Ryan Braun’s two-run homer in the ninth allowed the Brewers to avoid their 11th shutout loss of the season.
Joey Votto, National League RBI leader Eugenio Suarez and Scott Schebler had consecutive run-scoring singles in the first inning against previously unbeaten rookie Freddy Peralta (3-1).
Harvey, acquired in May from the Mets, struck out six and walked none. The right-hander didn’t return after a 54-minute rain delay.
”It was one of those when you come in and try to do as much as you can,” Harvey said. ”You come in and put a heat pack on, but once it creeps up to an hour … That’s the best I’ve felt in a long time. I could smell the CG (complete game) coming or at least getting deep in the game. I was pretty much in control the whole time, but I’m happy about the outing and another Reds win.”
Pitching in a gametime temperature of 93 humid degrees, Harvey retired the first 12 batters before Travis Shaw outflanked a defensive shift with an opposite-field single to left leading off the fifth.
Cincinnati’s first six batters reached base against Peralta, who’d allowed just a .093 opponents’ batting average (7 for 75) in his first four starts, all Milwaukee wins. He recovered from throwing 43 pitches in the first inning to retire the last 10 and 15 of the last 16 batters he faced.
”It started out rough http://www.packersauthorizedshops.com/authentic-j_mon-moore-jersey ,” Milwaukee manager Craig Counsell said. ”He righted it. It was cool to see him right it. That’s a lesson that you’ve got to get it going right away or a big league team will take advantage of it. I thought he handled it very well.”
CHANGE OF SCENERY
The Brewers optioned .197-hitting SS Orlando Arcia to Triple-A Colorado Springs before the game. ”He’s been a good major league hitter,” Counsell said. ”He’s been a dominant minor league hitter. We’re confident he will get things going again.”
MOVING UP
Votto’s two hits pushed him past Hall of Famer Frank Robinson into ninth place on the Reds’ career hits list with 1,674. Brandon Phillips is eighth with 1,774 hits.
LAST MINUTE
Braun’s ninth-inning homer gave the Brewers at least one in each of their last 19 games at Great American Ball Park, the longest streak by any team, including the Reds.
TRAINER’S ROOM
Brewers: OF Christian Yelich took some swings before Sunday’s game, the third he’d missed since leaving Thursday’s game with a tight lower back.
UP NEXT
Brewers: LHP Brent Suter (8-5) is 6-2 with a 3.50 ERA over his last eight starts.
Reds: RHP Luis Castillo (5-8) didn’t allow a home run in his last start, but he still leads NL pitchers in homers allowed with 18. The NFL should change their punting rule. The NFL is probably the league that undergoes more changes in the rules of the game than any other professional sports league. Most of the time, these changes are implemented in order to protect players鈥?health. However, sometimes the modifications go beyond taking care of the physical integrity and seek to make a fairer game. For example Rashaan Gaulden Color Rush Jersey , in fumbles, tackling wide receivers or completing passes. But what about something with a more significant impact in the game, like the way we count punts. Let's be honest, punts are one of the least attractive plays in a football game. So, what type of impact would have to give a point to the opponent every time a team punt?Last week,聽SBNation explored the idea of deducting a point every time a team punts. Something which might bring some problems to the way we currently count points, taking into account that is really common to punt when the game is even 0-0 at the beginning of the game (this would put some red points on the board, which would be quite odd). Although here they made an interesting analogy between punting and surrendering your hand in Blackjack. Two similar plays where you try to play safe, but you lose half of your money in the latter, while punting doesn't cost you anything in football. In blackjack Trent Murphy Jersey Elite , this rule seeks to punish the player who gives up and benefits the one who keeps playing, looking for a fairer game. So, would this rule, giving an extra point to the opponent when a team punt, make a more impartial competition in the NFL?.

The Eagles also will play at England's home of soccer when they take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 8 at Wembley Stadium.

"We knew who our opponents would be, and that we would play seven games against teams that were in the playoffs last year, including two against the Super Bowl champions, so we knew it is going to be a challenging schedule," said Pat Shurmur, preparing for his first season as Giants coach. "I don't see anything remarkable about the schedule, but it is very challenging."
As usual, no Sunday night game has been scheduled for the last day of the season, Dec. 30. That will be chosen after Week 16 games conclude.
The 2018 schedule has three three-game road trips Da'Ron Payne Color Rush Jersey , down from seven last year. The Saints, Rams and Ravens will have those three-game journeys, but the Ravens and Rams also have three-game homestands. In all, 12 franchises are home for three straight weeks, and Baltimore and Indianapolis have a bye in there, meaning neither club will leave home for a month.
Also, no team plays a road game following a road Monday night match. That occurred last year five times.
The playoffs begin with wild-card weekend on Jan. 5-6. The Super Bowl is Feb. 3 in Atlanta.
"I always look forward to this time of year, getting our players back in the building, getting back to football, and then on top of that we get to see how our schedule sets up and start our preparation," Chiefs coach Andy Reid said. "We've got a lot of work to get done before Sept. 9. I'm excited to get started and I know Chiefs Kingdom will be supporting us the entire way." AP Sports Writer Tom Withers in Cleveland contributed. Andrew Luck feels as sore and tired as he expected four days into training camp.
He's also pain free 鈥?just as the Indianapolis Colts hoped.
Luck passed his first major tests by returning to the practice field, taking all of his normal snaps during the Colts' first two workouts, connecting with receivers on the run rather than throwing at stationary targets while feeling good physically and mentally.
It's a good start for the quarterback with the surgically repaired right shoulder.
"Every day there will be new hurdles," he said Sunday. "The second day, things seemed to calm down or slow down a lot. The first day I was nervous Authentic Calvin Ridley Jersey , I was excited and there was a certain element of the unknown. I wasn't quite sure what was going to happen. It was also very fun to be out there with the guys and focus on getting better at practice and not just surviving practice."
The angst could be sensed all around the Colts' new camp site earlier this week in Westfield, Indiana, a northern suburb of Indianapolis.
Fans roared throughout Thursday's opening workout, even cheering when Luck was throwing to ball boys and quarterbacks. One fan shouted "stay in that pocket" as Luck went through an individual drill designed to help all four quarterbacks evade oncoming pass rushers.
Not surprisingly, the early jitters also impacted Luck's performance.
He was just 4 of 9 with an interception in his first 11-on-11 work since having a partially torn labrum fixed in January 2017.
On Friday, he was 15 of 19 overall.
He resumed throwing Sunday night, his first full practice in pads in nearly 20 months, and was 19 of 22 with two touchdowns in seven-on-seven and 11-on-11 drills.
"There have been four or five throws that have been like, 'Oh yeah, that looks 100 percent like normal,'" coach Frank Reich said before the evening workout. "Then there have been one or two that we just need to work through and continue to get better."
Luck did not talk with reporters after those practices or Saturday when he left the field about halfway through Saturday's practice at Grand Park Sports Campus 鈥?as scheduled.
"It's weird, but this is the plan Frank and I and (general manager) Chris (Ballard) and everybody who helped came up with at the start. I know it's helped me continue to get better and better and better," Luck said. "It is sort of a bit odd to reconcile 'OK, I'm out here, but I don't get to participate."
But after blaming his slow recovery at least partially on skipping steps in a rush to get back Clay Matthews Jersey , he's sticking to the plan this time.
And Reich intends to hold him to that promise even though Luck is under no restrictions on the field.
Luck still must pass a few more milestones such as throwing deep balls and taking hits. The wait may not be too long.
Reich has said he expects Luck to play in the Colts' preseason opener on Aug. 9 at Seattle, though Reich has not yet determined how much Luck will play.
"I'm going into this from the very start that he was full go, fully cleared for everything. We have some planned rest days, but in my mind the amount that he plays is he's 100 percent in my mind," Reich said. "We will plan him playing accordingly based on how much we would want to play our starting quarterback."
Luck isn't just starting to shake off the rust.
With each successive practice, he seems to be picking up Reich's newly installed offense better and continues to look stronger and more confident in the shoulder.
"It's fun. What can I say? I had jitters like before a game for that first practice, which was a neat feeling. I hadn't felt that way in a long time. It's been responding well," he said. "No pain. Soreness, tiredness for sure and stresses on my arm that are different. Shoot, there are stresses on everybody's body at this camp that are different."
Notes: Reich hopes to have injured offensive tackles Anthony Castonzo and Austin Howard back "pretty soon." Neither has practiced yet and only eight of the 15 offensive linemen practiced Saturday. ... Offensive lineman Jack Mewhort returned to practice Sunday after getting an extra day off Saturday. ... The evening practice was marred by a scuffle that began when right guard Matt Slauson instigated after he thought George Odum took an unnecessary hard shot on rookie running back Nyheim Hines. ... Linebacker Anthony Walker left practice early with a groin injury. .
Arizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim is apologizing for what he calls ”incredibly poor judgment and inexcusable actions” that resulted in a Fourth of July DUI arrest in a Phoenix suburb.
The Cardinals said Saturday the team was gathering information and would handle the matter ”appropriately and in accordance with all league policies as well as within the legal system.”
Chandler police say Keim was arrested early Wednesday morning after a traffic stop and was released from custody later in the day. They did not release further details.
In a statement Cheap Jason McCourty Jersey , Keim said that he failed to meet NFL standards of behavior and that he accepts full responsibility for his actions.
Keim has been the Cardinals GM since 2013.
The Carolina Panthers have released running back Jonathan Stewart.
Stewart became the franchise's career rushing leader in 2017, finishing with 7,318 rushing yards. Stewart's 1 Mike McGlinchey Jersey Youth ,699 rushing attempts are also the most in franchise history, while his 58 touchdowns (51 rushing, seven receiving) are second in franchise history.
"Jonathan played the game the way you want. He brought an element of toughness as a runner that set the tempo for our team Cheap Logan Cooke Jersey ," coach Ron Rivera said in a statement. "He is a great pro, and I appreciate who he is as a young man and thank him for the contribution he made."
Stewart helped Carolina to five playoff appearances, and holds franchise records for career rushing yards (474) Johnny Townsend Jersey Raiders , rushing attempts (101) and rushing touchdowns (five) in the playoffs. His three rushing touchdowns in the 2015 postseason are the franchise high.
Stewart played all 10 seasons with the Panthers after being drafted by Carolina in the first round in 2008 out of Oregon.

The text message lit up Troy Mann’s phone the morning after the Capitals eliminated the Penguins with a patchwork lineup featuring five rookies. It came from Barry Trotz.
”Thanks Manner for having all those rookie Caps ready Authentic JK Scott Jersey ,” Trotz wrote. ”They all played well – you own a piece of this win last night.”
Mann beamed with pride when more than a half-dozen players he coached with the American Hockey League’s Hershey Bears contributed to the victory that got the Capitals into the Eastern Conference final. Many of those players are still playing key roles for Washington in the Stanley Cup Final against the Vegas Golden Knights – more than a month after Mann was fired from his job as Hershey’s head coach.
This is a bittersweet time for Mann, who had a hand in the development of Jakub Vrana, Chandler Stephenson and Christian Djoos as coach and was an assistant when Braden Holtby, John Carlson, Dmitry Orlov, Andre Burakovsky, Jay Beagle and Tom Wilson went through Hershey on their way to the NHL. Considering the success of those players and Hershey products Nate Schmidt and Cody Eakin contributing for Vegas, the Cup Final is a validation of Mann’s methods of getting prospects ready for the next level.
”I called Troy Mann the other day and thanked him for producing a lot of good players,” Trotz said. ”All the players he had the last couple of years are all playing in the Stanley Cup Finals. Guys who haven’t played a (playoff) game before. They’ve brought some of that winning tradition that they had in Hershey. It’s important for those guys to be a part of it.”
Mann has remained connected to the Capitals’ playoff run by talking to Trotz and Hershey video coach Mike King, who’s in Washington. Amid interviews with other organizations for another AHL job or work as an NHL assistant, he has watched about 80 percent of the Capitals’ games this postseason and can see the elements in players’ games he and assistant Ryan Murphy harped on improving during their four-year tenure.
After giving Vrana some tough love by scratching him in the playoffs a year ago, Mann notices the 22-year-old winger getting between the faceoff dots to create offense like he asked. He watches Stephenson playing with the consistency that was sometimes lacking in Hershey, which was all part of the plan.
”We talked a lot during our time here about what they needed to do at the NHL level to be successful,” Mann said by phone this week. ”The thing we’ve seen the most with our guys is just the improvement level from year to year and month to month.”
As much as Mann notices the improvement from afar, the players feel it Jason Witten Jersey Elite , too, and credit him for giving them the playing time to grow their games in Hershey, a market that expects championships as much as development.
”He just gave us a chance,” said Stephenson, who has seven points in his first Stanley Cup playoffs. ”The type of franchise that Hershey’s been and having so many Calder Cups and things like that, he put a lot of faith in the younger guys and just trusted us. He wanted us to get to the next level more so than you wanted yourself. I really respected him as a coach and liked him as a coach and to have that faith and trust (from) him, it’s helped me a lot.”
His support several years ago helped Eakin become a full-time NHL player who said Mann ”knows how to get the most out of his players.” Schmidt, who had Mann as an assistant and a head coach, appreciated pre-practice skills sessions to work on his hands and stick work and the honesty with which he deals with players.
”I thought he was great,” Schmidt said Saturday. ”You always knew where you stood with him. That’s something that I really respect.”
But after three playoff appearances including a trip to the Calder Cup Final in 2016, missing the postseason this year led to the Capitals not renewing Mann’s contract.
”Troy is a dedicated and hard-working coach, and we appreciate all he has done for the Hershey Bears,” Capitals general manager Brian MacLellan said in a statement. ”At this point, we feel a fresh approach and a change in leadership is needed in order for us to continue to develop our young players towards the next level and for success at the AHL level.”
That stung for Mann, who worked eight of the past nine years in the Capitals’ system Youth John Franklin-Myers Jersey , made Hershey his home in that time and believed he did his job.
”I think it’s very difficult for anybody to tell me that I haven’t done my job here,” Mann said. ”I’m very grateful they gave me my first opportunity. As much as I’d love to be the head coach of Hershey next year, the only thing I can hope for now is that other NHL teams are recognizing the work that we did here and that’ll help pay off in the next few weeks here of securing another opportunity.”
Mann was a finalist for one job already and is in demand as Ottawa, Arizona and Colorado all look to fill AHL head-coaching vacancies. He has a big supporter in Trotz, who said recently the Capitals wouldn’t be Eastern Conference champions without Mann and Murphy helping develop Stephenson, Vrana, Djoos, Nathan Walker, Travis Boyd and Madison Bowey.
”They did a really good job,” Trotz said. ”They’ve developed well, and they’ve been a big part of it.”

More Stanley Cup coverage: Justify emerged from the fog and sloshed his way to another impressive victory, holding off several hard-charging challengers to win the Preakness on Saturday and keep alive the chance for trainer Bob Baffert’s second Triple Crown champion in four years.
On a sloppy track similar to the conditions in the Kentucky Derby, Justify improved to 5-0 and will go to the Belmont Stakes on June 9 looking to do the same thing American Pharoah did for Baffert in 2015.
Bravazo finished second and Tenfold took third in the 1 3/16-mile race.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) – Reliever Sergio Romo started on consecutive days for Tampa Bay, becoming the first pitcher to start back-to-back games since Zack Greinke did it for Milwaukee in July 2012 after getting ejected from his first start after four pitches.
Romo is the first pitcher to pitch at least one inning in back-to-back starts since Steve McCatty did it for Oakland in 1980.
Romo, who made the first two starts of his 11-year big league career during the weekend, struck out the side in the first inning Saturday before striking out three more Sunday. Tampa Bay manager Kevin Cash used the unusual strategy with Romo to allow the two young pitchers who followed Romo to face the heart of the Angels’ right-handed order less frequently.

The 21-year-old rookie shot a 6-under 65 to beat Marc Leishman by three strokes as both became the first to finish the Nelson at 20 under or better in the first year at Trinity Forest. The treeless links-style layout was defenseless with softer fairways and greens and no wind once the morning storms passed. As Browns wide receiver Antonio Callaway stood by Authentic Nolan Patrick Jersey , a police officer said he "got real nervous" when he found bullets and a gun part while searching the rookie's vehicle.
Callaway was cited for marijuana possession and driving with a suspended license after being stopped by Strongsville, Ohio police early Sunday morning for failing to yield to oncoming traffic..
On Wednesday, the dash-camera video obtained by TMZ shows Callaway getting out of his car and being questioned by police after the ammunition and a "strap" for a handgun were found in the 23-year-old's car.
A Browns spokesman said Callaway, a fourth-round pick who had numerous off-field problems while he was at Florida, traveled with the team for Thursday's exhibition opener against the New York Giants.
Callaway had been scheduled to appear in court Thursday, but had his appearance moved to Aug. 23. He recently moved into the starting lineup after the Browns traded Corey Coleman to Buffalo. It's still not known if Coleman will be disciplined by the team.
Callaway was pulled over at 2:59 a.m., and during the routine stop was asked to exit his vehicle after one of the officers smelled marijuana. In the video, Callaway says he has not been smoking and tells the officer his car had just been shipped from Florida.
Once he returns to his patrol car, one officer tells the other he got worried when he found the bullets.
"I got real nervous when I opened (the car) up and first thing right down by where the seats sit is the backstrap of a Glock, and then he's got a bunch of spare single rounds sitting in the center console," the unidentified officer said. "So I got real nervous when he's standing back there and there's no gun but there's gun stuff everywhere."
Callaway says he owned a gun, but that it was in Florida. The officer asks to pat him down to make sure he's not carrying a weapon.
There was no mention of the ammunition or gun part in the police report. The AP has requested the dash-cam video.
Coach Hue Jackson said he only learned of Callaway's situation on Tuesday and said he wanted to gather more information before commenting further.
"Obviously Dolphins Durham Smythe Jersey , the red flag is up," Jackson said. "Let me work through it, see what it is and go from there."
Callaway is already in Stage 1 of the NFL's substance-abuse program after he provided a diluted urine sample at the league's combine in February. He could be subject to a fine or discipline from the league for his latest transgression. s://apnews/tag/NFLfootball and s://AP_NFL
The stat caught Chris Iannetta by complete surprise: This was only the 10th 1-0 game ever at Coors Field.
”Come on,” the catcher said.
He can thank his dominant starter for the latest addition. He played a pretty big role, too. Iannetta homered in the seventh, Tyler Anderson pitched eight stellar innings in outdueling Andrew Suarez and the Colorado Rockies beat the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday night to sweep a three-game series.
It was the first 1-0 game at Coors Field since June 12, 2010.
Anderson (6-3) scattered two hits and tied a season high with nine strikeouts. The left-hander didn’t allow a baserunner to reach second base.
”Tyler pitched great,” Rockies manager Bud Black said.
For that, Anderson credits a slight tweak in game plans, going with more cutters than changeups.
”It was helpful because I’ve faced those guys a lot,” Anderson said. ”If they want to sit on a changeup, it kind of helps to have something to equalize that.”
And of course http://www.bengalsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-mark-walton-jersey , Anderson wanted the ball for the ninth.
”You always want to go out and finish it,” Anderson said. ”At the same time, Wade Davis is an unbelievable pitcher.”
Davis surrendered a two-out single to Andrew McCutchen and walked Buster Posey in the ninth. Pinch-hitter Brandon Crawford hit a deep foul ball before later flying out as Davis earned his 25th save.
Suarez (3-5) pretty much matched Anderson pitch for pitch in going seven innings and scattering five hits.
”A pitcher’s duel is always fun,” Suarez said. ”I enjoyed it, just that last inning I missed that one pitch.”
Suarez elevated a slider on a full count to Iannetta, who took a few steps down the line to make sure his hooking liner remained fair.
It did. The umpiring crew took a look and confirmed Iannetta’s seventh homer of the season.
Kelby Tomlinson and Brandon Belt both singled to account for the only Giants hits off Anderson. Over the three-game series, San Francisco mustered just three runs and hit a combined .152.
”It’s a tough one, the whole series,” Giants manager Bruce Bochy said. ”We’ve got to rebound here, get the bats going.”
This was another strong outing for Anderson, who allowed four hits and no runs over eight innings in Los Angeles against the Dodgers last Friday.
He found a way to top it.
”He was good both times. He had command of four pitches,” Iannetta said. ”He was using all four quadrants of the zone. That’s really a difference maker. When you can command pitches Landon Collins Jersey Youth , it makes it tough for hitters to get in a groove.”
Colorado had something brewing in the third, when DJ LeMahieu lined a one-out double to right. Charlie Blackmon followed with a sharp single off the glove of Joe Panik, who hustled after the baseball as LeMahieu took a wide turn. LeMahieu held at third and Suarez got the next two outs to escape the jam.
TRAINER’S ROOM
Rockies: RHP Bryan Shaw (strained calf) threw 25 pitches in a simulated game Wednesday. Black said the reliever will throw Friday and Sunday for Triple-A Albuquerque. ”From there, we’ll make an assessment of where Bryan is,” Black said. ”But Bryan right now feels good, his arm feels great.”
STREAKING ARENADO
Nolan Arenado leads the NL with 22 homers this season. And to think, he thought he might not even hit one out this season.
No, seriously.
”The first month-and-a-half, felt like I wasn’t going to hit any homers this year,” Arenado said. ”Now I have 22. You have to ride the wave.”
THIS & THAT
Tomlinson was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento and started at third base. … Colorado snapped a four-game skid on the Fourth of July. … Of Colorado’s three 1-0 wins on solo homers, Iannetta has the last two, according to the team. He also accomplished the feat on July 18 Authentic Denzel Ward Jersey , 2010, at Cincinnati. … The game lasted just 2 hours, 15 minutes – the shortest at Coors Field this season.

Giants: Begin a four-game series against St. Louis on Thursday, with Johnny Cueto (3-0, 0.84 ERA) expected to return to the mound. Rockies: Off Thursday before playing a three-game series in Seattle. RHP German Marquez (6-8, 5.14) will throw for the Rockies on Friday, while the Mariners go with RHP Felix Hernandez (8-6, 5.11).

John Tavares isn’t the only free agent going back to a familiar place.
Several players are returning to their former teams and comfortable situations – from James van Riemsdyk going back to Philadelphia on the second-richest July 1 deal to Matt Cullen taking a significant pay cut to rejoin the Pittsburgh Penguins he helped win the Stanley Cup twice. It’s not quite the tug at the heartstrings that led Tavares to sign a $77 million Preston Brown Color Rush Jersey , seven-year deal with his boyhood Toronto Maple Leafs, but familiarity was part of the bustle on the opening day of NHL free agency .
”I have that comfortablity with knowing a lot about the organization having played there in the past and having a lot of familiar faces still on the staff and stuff like that,” van Riemsdyk said after signing a $35 million, five-year deal with the Flyers. ”Even just remembering to my time previously is just how bad obviously they want to win and they’re willing to put the resources into that. That passion and that commitment to that was a big thing for me.”
Unsure there’d be room for him after his old team re-signed Riley Sheahan, Cullen signed a $650,000, one-year deal with the Penguins after spending a season back home in Minnesota. Tomas Plekanec was away from Montreal for only a few months, signing a bonus-laden $2.25 million, one-year deal with the Canadiens after they traded him to the rival Maple Leafs at the deadline.
Plekanec had planned since the end of the season to go back to Montreal, where his family remained when he went to Toronto. He will be back at the Bell Centre on a contract that can be worth another $1.25 million in incentives. The 35-year-old will get to play his 1,000th career regular-season game in his familiar blue, white and red uniform this October.
”That was my priority Authentic Justin Reid Jersey ,” Plekanec said. ”I wanted to come back.”
While Plekanec obviously felt a strong connection to Montreal after 14 seasons there, David Perron will be playing for the St. Louis Blues for the third time in his NHL career after signing for $16 million over four years. Perron spent his first six seasons with the Blues after they took him in the first round in 2007, returned as a free agent two summers ago, was taken by the Golden Knights in the expansion draft a year ago and is back again after setting career highs with 50 assists and 66 points in Las Vegas.
”Obviously (the Golden Knights) made the right decision with the way that David played for them,” Blues general manager Doug Armstrong said. ”He certainly could’ve made more money on the market. He wanted to come back.”
Thomas Vanek enjoyed his 48 games with the Detroit Red Wings in 2016-17 so much he wanted to sign with them last July but they didn’t have enough salary-cap space. When the opportunity presented itself this time, the 34-year-old winger zeroed in on a one-year deal and chose Detroit’s $3 million offer over a few other options.
”I loved it there,” Vanek said. ”It was a good it. I really liked the whole culture of the organization and the guys were great. We tried to make it work last year. It didn’t work out, so I’m happy it did this year.”
No one says hockey players can’t go home, but there has to be mutual interest. It was simple for the Penguins, who lacked something without Cullen in their second-round loss to the eventual Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals. Pittsburgh had tried to reacquire the 41-year-old center at the trade deadline.
It was a bit more complicated for the Flyers, who traded van Riemsdyk to Toronto in 2012 in a one-for-one deal for bruising defenseman Luke Schenn. That was under a previous regime that believed the 6-foot-3, 217-pound left winger wasn’t tough enough Cheap Tyquan Lewis Jersey , but GM Ron Hextall sees a player who checks the boxes for a playoff contender with a few holes.
”We felt with the fit that we needed some size,” Hextall said. ”We needed goal-scoring. We need a left winger. This one just fit all around for us and I think James felt the same way.”
The personality fit was there, too, because Flyers management knew van Riemsdyk, who is 29. Coming through Philadelphia’s system as the second overall pick in 2007 helped with Hextall being willing to make his biggest free agent splash.
”We know the person – people inside this organization – (and) obviously that helps,” Hextall said.
Van Riemsdyk did his homework by talking with captain Claude Giroux, winger Jakub Voracek and recent Flyers players before choosing to return to his first NHL organization. He also fondly remembered the Flyers’ run to the Cup Final in 2010.
”Hopefully again we get a chance to do something like that in the future,” he said.

Stephen Curry is impatient and eager to get back in a game for the Golden State Warriors, yet he knows it’s not worth risking re-injuring his left knee by pushing his return too soon.
The two-time MVP on Friday went through his first 5-on-5 scrimmage since the injury but coach Steve Kerr wasn’t ready to proclaim Curry a go for Saturday night – that might not be decided until after the morning shootaround. Kerr listed Curry’s status as questionable for a second straight day ahead of Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals against the New Orleans Pelicans at Oracle Arena.
”Still to be determined,” Curry said. ”They come up with those snazzy words for a reason – doubtful, questionable, probable. I’ve learned a lot about what those words mean this year. Just trying to work my way up Adidas Corey Perry Jersey , do what I need to do, do whatever Chelsea (Lane) and the rest of the athletic training staff and coach needs to see to get me back out there. That’s the only thing I can really focus on right now. It is good to be back actually playing basketball and doing basketball things.”
Curry, Kerr and Lane spoke in depth after Friday’s scrimmage, which wasn’t visible to media members with a curtain blocking one court at team headquarters.
On Thursday, Curry resumed full practice with contact but Kerr wanted to see how Curry responded after consecutive intense days of on-court work before he and the training staff decided when to let Curry return.
”A big part of this is how he turns up tomorrow after a night’s rest,” Kerr said. ”It’s the first time he’s scrimmaged in six weeks, five weeks, whatever it is. It’s not as simple as he feels good, throw him out there. It’s more about give him a few days, see how he responds from there.”
There was still no date for Game 2 of the best-of-seven series, though Curry was hoping if he couldn’t play Saturday that the game would be at least Tuesday – not Monday – to give him a better chance.
He nearly feels like himself again, moving the way he’s used to during a game. Curry isn’t sure what kind of minutes to expect initially when he does return but figures he will discuss that with Kerr ahead of time.
”I’m getting there Baker Mayfield Browns Jersey ,” he said. ”My knee feels pretty good. I don’t have any pain with doing things I’ve been doing.”
Curry wore compression leggings Friday to protect his sprained knee, which has sidelined him since the injury March 23. It was bad luck given that’s the same day he returned from a six-game absence because of a hurt right ankle.
He was happy to not need a brace he tried out Thursday. The Warriors eliminated the San Antonio Spurs in Game 5 of the first-round series with a 99-91 win Tuesday night and Curry wants to make sure he doesn’t disrupt any flow or momentum with the team on a roll.
”The priority for us is to be the best team we can be,” he said. ”When I’m 100 percent healthy and doing what I need to do I obviously try to lead that charge but right now the conversations become how can you manage those minutes and still be productive and still have a cohesive lineup and flow to the game and all that type of stuff. That’s what Coach has to think through.”
Curry said he wasn’t trying to persuade Kerr or Lane to let him play Saturday.
”There’s no real politicking at all, it’s not that serious. It’s a matter of how you feel, can you do this, can you do that and check off all the boxes along the way,” he said. ”Once I get through all those checkpoints and have confidence in myself and my body I’ll be out there, whether that’s tomorrow night or Monday or Tuesday, whenever Game 2 is, that’s the process that I’m all too familiar with.”

Eagles players and officials made individual decisions to not go to the White House for a scheduled celebration of their Super Bowl title Colts Braden Smith Jersey , leaving two players actually planning to make the trip to Washington before the visit was canceled by President Donald Trump, according to players and a person familiar with the arrangements.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity Wednesday because of the sensitivity of the issues.
All-Pro center Jason Kelce said players filled out forms anonymously indicating whether they wanted to go to the White House, not make the trip or go to Washington and do something else. ”It’s a little bit disappointing as a country right now that we’re so divided, I think that’s the bigger disappointment,” said Kelce, who became a folk hero in Philadelphia for an impassioned, profane rally speech he gave after a day of antics during the city’s Super Bowl parade.
The players did not urge a collective decision on what to do as a team, giving each player his own option of whether to take the trip.
Defensive end Chris Long, who skipped the trip last year when he was with the New England Patriots and again decided early to not attend Michael Gallup Cowboys Jersey , said he hopes athletes on championship teams in all sports won’t have to make the decision when Trump’s term is up for re-election in 2020.
”The players didn’t create this division (in the country),” Long said. ”I’m extremely proud to be part of this team.”
Safety Malcolm Jenkins, an outspoken leader for social reforms, held up handwritten signs on issues important to him and other players instead of verbally answering questions.
”You aren’t listening,” one sign said. Another said that former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick gave $1 million to charity. Kaepernick began the wave of kneeling protests in the NFL as a way to protest racism and police brutality, and is working through a grievance case against the league after he was not signed by any team following his run with San Francisco.
Another sign by Jenkins read: ”More than 60 percent of people in prison are people of color.”
Coach Doug Pederson said before practice that he was looking forward to going to the White House to be recognized as Super Bowl champions but he wouldn’t further discuss details of the trip’s breakdown. He declined to provide information on how things escalated to the White House accusing players of abandoning their fans by deciding to not attend.
”What you’ve seen and what you’ve heard is enough. I’m not discussing it,” Pederson said. ”The team is great. We’re united. Our goal is 2018. It’s over. It’s behind us. We’re moving on.”
Trump rescinded his invitation late Monday and instead turned the ceremony for the Eagles on Tuesday into his own brief ”Celebration of America” after it became clear most players weren’t going to show up. Trump tied the dispute to his criticism of players who have kneeled during the national anthem, even though no Eagles players kneeled for the song during the 2017 season.
Also Wednesday, hockey player Devante Smith-Pelly said he would skip a White House visit if the Washington Capitals win the Stanley Cup. Smith-Pelly Dontae Johnson Color Rush Jersey , one of two black Capitals players, spoke about Trump to Canada’s Postmedia.
”The things that he spews are straight-up racist and sexist,” Smith-Pelly said with the Capitals a victory away from their first title. ”Some of the things he’s said are pretty gross. I’m not too into politics, so I don’t know all his other views, but his rhetoric I definitely don’t agree with. It hasn’t come up here, but I think I already have my mind made up.”
On Tuesday, NBA stars LeBron James and Curry both said they wouldn’t visit.
Eagles Tight end Zach Ertz wore a Team USA soccer jersey while answering questions and said he’s ”proud to be an American.”
”Everyone in this locker room understands that everyone’s heart is in the right place,” Ertz said. ”We weren’t going to let someone try and formulate an agenda. What’s unique about this locker room is that everyone’s treated with respect, people truly care about one another Panthers Marquis Haynes Jersey , people respect other people’s opinions. We’re united.”
Long took a shot at NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell for staying silent on the matter.
”If he doesn’t want to stand up for his players, that’s not my business,” Long said. ”I know my teammates are great men. There’s men of faith in this locker room. There’s men who serve their communities. There’s men who have a lot who give back to people with a lot less.”

The Chiefs have agreed to a three-year, $7.5 million contract with longtime punter Dustin Colquitt on Thursday, a deal that could ensure he plays the rest of his career in Kansas City.
His representatives at CAA said the deal could be worth up to $9 million with incentives.
Colquitt, who turns 36 in May, was a third-round pick of the Chiefs in 2005, and has proceeded to have one of the best punting careers in franchise history. He's appeared in all but two games over the past 13 seasons, earning Pro Bowl appearances in 2012 and 2016.
The Chiefs expected to get a deal with Colquitt done soon after free agency began Jaire Alexander Color Rush Jersey , and general manager Brett Veach alluded to it happening "soon" when he addressed reporters Wednesday.
Colquitt's father, Craig, and uncle, were also professional punters, and his brother Britton spent last season with the Browns after six seasons with the Broncos.
That lineage has earned them the label, "The first family of fourth down." .
Derrick Johnson's tenure with the Kansas City Chiefs is coming to an end.
The franchise's career tackles leader and a four-time Pro Bowl selection Robert Griffin III Color Rush Jersey , Johnson will become a free agent when his contract expires at the start of the new league year March 14. He intends to keep playing, it just won't be in the familiar red, yellow and white of the Chiefs.
"I love Kansas City and this fan base. They've always had my back," Johnson said in a statement put out by the Chiefs, who made the rare decision to announce publicly that Johnson would not be returning.
That in itself speaks volumes to how much Johnson has meant to the organization.
"I'm grateful I had the opportunity to spend 13 years in a place I love," he said. "I plan on playing for several more years because I love the game so much, but I look forward to retiring as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs when my career is over."
Johnson was the Chiefs' first-round pick in 2005, though his career got off to a rocky start. At one point early on, he found himself riding the bench Kevin Hogan Color Rush Jersey , and was even labeled a bust.
But Johnson eventually earned his starting job back, and went on to appear in 182 games with 169 starts. He piled up 1,262 tackles to easily shatter the franchise record, had 27陆 sacks and picked off 14 passes, returning four of them for touchdowns.
He had a career-best 179 tackles in 2011, when he was voted the Chiefs' team MVP.
"Few players in recent history have meant more to the Chiefs franchise and the Kansas City community than Derrick Johnson," Chiefs chairman Clark Hunt said.
"His tireless work ethic and passion for the game made him one of the most productive defensive players to ever wear a Chiefs uniform and one of the most respected players both in our locker room and around the league.
"Over the last 13 seasons, Derrick represented himself and the Chiefs organization with integrity and class, and he will always be a part of our Chiefs family."
Johnson piled up his impressive stats despite missing part of two seasons with ruptured Achilles tendons. He returned from the first one as good as ever Nyheim Hines Jersey Colts , earning his most recent Pro Bowl trip in 2015, but the second seemed to finally take a step out of his legs this past season.
He slowly lost playing time to younger teammates in the middle of the Kansas City defense.
"I'm grateful I had the opportunity to coach a player like Derrick," Chiefs coach Andy Reid said in a statement. "He's a passionate football player and a natural leader. I value the amount of quality work he put in every day for us, including teaching our younger players what it means to be a pro.
"I think he will make an incredible coach when he is done playing the game, if he chooses."
The Chiefs have been trying to get younger the past couple of seasons, particularly on defense, and Johnson is unlikely to be the last veteran to go. Fellow linebacker Tamba Hali has been dealing with bad knees for years, and the Chiefs are expected to release him in the coming weeks.
Johnson signed a three-year, $21 million contract extension in 2016 Customized Oakland Raiders Jerseys , but he had restructured the deal a year ago to help the Chiefs free up salary cap space. In doing so, he voided the final year, and that made it simple for the Chiefs to move on.
His loss will be felt not only on the field, but in the locker room and community. Johnson often served as a team spokesman, always showing up at his locker to speak with reporters regardless of whether the team was winning or losing. And the role he played in mentoring young players, such as linebackers Reggie Ragland and Ukeme Eligwe, should help the organization for years to come.
"Letting go of a player like Derrick is particularly tough because of how much respect I have for him as a player and a person," Chiefs general manager Brett Veach said. "He's had a tremendous career in Kansas City and we wish him nothing but the best moving forward."

Pete Carroll dipped back into the Southern California pipeline to fill a need on the Seattle Seahawks defensive line.
Unable to make a move back into the second round for an additional pick Denzel Ward Browns Jersey , the Seahawks selected USC defensive end Rasheem Green with the 79th overall selection in the third-round on Friday night.
Seattle's initial selection on the second day addressed a significant need along the defensive line. Seattle was slated to have the No. 76-overall pick but traded with Pittsburgh and moved back three spots to No. 79 while also picking up an additional seventh-round selection.
And much to the delight of the Seahawks, Green was still on the board.
"It's tough watching guys getting drafted that play the same position when I personally feel like I'm a bit better than them. But it is what it is." Green said.
It was a relatively quiet night for a team known for being busy with draft moves. Seattle will now have eight picks on the final day of the draft.
General manager John Schneider said there never were any reasonable options that would have allowed Seattle to get back into the second round. That included any possible deals involving safety Earl Thomas, who was the source of trade speculation as his current contract expires after the 2018 season and he was one of the few Seattle options that could have landed a high draft pick.
"You may have looked like he wasn't going to be here but we didn't look at it like that. That's been a lot of speculation on your guys' end of this thing," Carroll said. "We've been counting on Earl being here the whole time."
Schneider believed Green was still available in the third round due to a knee injury suffered several years ago that likely downgraded his stock among teams. Schneider said Green was examined twice by Seattle's doctors and was given high marks.
"I'm sure he thought he was going to go higher. We like to have guys like that," Schneider said.
Green played primarily as a defensive tackle at USC and was able to live in the backfield of opponents. Green had 12 陆 tackles for loss and 10 sacks last season at USC while being named a first-team All-Pac-12 selection. Green projects more as a defensive end in the NFL because of his size 鈥?6-foot-4 and 275 pounds 鈥?and that's where he would like to play.
"I personally prefer the outside," Green said. "I feel like I'm just as good as I am inside as I am outside."
Replenishing the pass rush is a priority for the Seahawks. Seattle traded Michael Bennett to Philadelphia earlier in the offseason and there are questions about the future of Cliff Avril after he suffered a neck injury that cost him most of last season.
While some of his skills may be raw, Green should have the opportunity to contend for significant playing time right away. Only Frank Clark and Dion Jordan would appear to have set spots in Seattle's regular rotation of defensive ends.
"It's really important for us that we definitely will have some options here. He's really young Youth Da'Ron Payne Jersey , he's a 20-year-old kid ... he's got a lot of potential to grow. We will move him all around and figure it out," Carroll said.
Some draft analysts believed Green would have been better off returning for his senior season and working his way into potentially being a first-round pick.
Green was willing to take the chance on leaving early.
"I did have some thoughts of staying. But I just felt like my heart wasn't there anymore," Green said. "I just wanted to do what I thought was the best choice for me. I don't regret it."
Keon Broxton has made challenging plays look routine for the Milwaukee Brewers.
The center fielder’s latest gem may have been his best one yet.
Broxton helped preserve a lead in the ninth, rookie Nate Orf hit a solo homer in Milwaukee’s two-run seventh and the Brewers beat the sliding Minnesota Twins 3-2 on Wednesday.
Broxton was on deck when Orf went deep two batters after Brad Miller hit a solo shot off Jose Berrios (8-7) to lead off the bottom of the seventh. It was Orf’s first career hit after coming up empty in his first seven at-bats.
Just a couple weeks ago, Broxton and Orf were also teammates at Triple-A Colorado Springs.
”Yeah I think I’m more excited about Orf’s home run,” Broxton said with a smile.
The Miller Park crowd was just as deliriously happy with Broxton’s catch. He ran full speed back to the wall and jumped with an outstretched glove to rob Brian Dozier of a homer for the second out in the ninth.
Broxton, filling in for the injured Lorenzo Cain Adidas Sergei Bobrovsky Jersey , also made a tough catch at the angled part of the wall in center in a 6-5 win over Minnesota on Friday. He made a diving grab in the ninth last week to preserve a win at Cincinnati.
But manager Craig Counsell said Broxton’s latest catch was ”special … that one, he was on the run and had to time everything absolutely perfectly.”
The play prevented a rocky ninth for Corey Knebel from getting any worse. Eduardo Escobar hit his 13th homer and Jorge Polanco singled with two out, but Max Kepler flied to left to end the game. Knebel picked up his 10th save.
The Twins closed out a 1-8 road trip with their sixth consecutive loss.
”Frustrating. Dozier hits that ball and they made a heck of a play on that ball and then (Escobar) goes deep,” Twins manager Paul Molitor said.
BIG HIT
Jesus Aguilar and Manny Pina lifted Orf up by his legs at the dugout steps to help the rookie answer a plea for a curtain call from a vocal crowd following his homer in the seventh.
”They picked me up and that’s when I noticed they wanted a curtain call,” Orf said. ”Next thing I know, I’m in front of all the fans on their shoulders. It was awesome.”
ON THE MOUND
Jeremy Jeffress (6-1) picked up the win despite allowing Dozier to score from third on Jorge Polanco’s bloop single to left for a 1-all tie in the top of the seventh. The hit snapped a stretch of 20 1/3 scoreless innings for Minnesota against the Brewers.
Berrios allowed five hits, struck out three and walked two in seven innings. He got little support from Minnesota’s punchless offense Dan Bailey Jersey Elite , which managed just three hits in the first 6 1/3 innings against Chase Anderson.
”I feel mad. As a pitcher, I never want to lose,” Berrios said. ”We had a chance to win the game and then they hit me for two homers. So I don’t like that.”
MAUER MILESTONE
Twins first baseman Joe Mauer got his 414th career double in the fourth inning, matching Hall of Famer Kirby Puckett for the franchise record.
QUOTABLE
”Yeah, that whole play, I think it was the best play I’ve ever made.” – Broxton on his ninth-inning catch.

The Minnesota Vikings found a new offensive coordinator this winter Tarvarius Moore Jersey 49ers , and they made one of the biggest splashes of the NFL offseason this week by giving quarterback Kirk Cousins a fully guaranteed $84 million contract.
There was one more pressing need: a new defensive tackle to play next to two-time Pro Bowl pick Linval Joseph.
Sheldon Richardson checked the last of those big boxes.
Richardson, the 13th pick in the 2013 draft out of Missouri by the New York Jets who was traded last year to the Seattle Seahawks, signed a one-year contract on Friday after visiting the team's new training facility and deciding the Vikings gave him the best opportunity to chase a championship.
"They're trying to win. Period. Point blank," Richardson said at an introductory news conference, held in the same room roughly 24 hours after Cousins', though with considerably less fanfare and fewer reporters.
He's still filling an important role, given head coach Mike Zimmer's desire for a stronger threat at that spot to both rush the passer and stand up to the run.
"Those guys can affect the quarterback as much as any position, along with our defensive ends, so it obviously takes some double-teams off our guys so they can continue to pressure the quarterback," Zimmer said.
The deal includes an $8 million base salary and as much as $3 million available in incentives, NFL Media reported. A few hours after Richardson's contract was finalized Saquon Barkley Jersey , the Vikings released wide receiver Jarius Wright to make more room under the salary cap.
Richardson played up to his first-round status by winning The Associated Press Defensive Rookie of the Year award. Then he recorded a career-high eight sacks and was picked for the Pro Bowl in 2014. He had some trouble off the field, though, serving a four-game suspension in 2015 for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. He also was suspended for the 2016 season opener for an arrest in his home state of Missouri for driving at high speeds and resisting arrest.
The Vikings, were satisfied with their extensive vetting of his background and character, general manager Rick Spielman said.
"Then after spending two days with him we felt very confident that him coming into this culture, this locker room, that he'll fit right in," Spielman said.
Richardson had only one sack last year for the Seahawks, his first season in a primarily 4-3 scheme after playing in a 3-4 system with the Jets. Zimmer's philosophy doesn't emphasize or maximize individual statistics, focusing more on overall disruption and pressure, so the sack dropoff was not a concern to the Vikings. They saw the high motor he displays and the havoc he can cause on the line during their video review of his performances with the Jets and Seahawks.
"You could see how powerful he is http://www.redskinsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-da_ron-payne-jersey , but you could also see the athletic ability and the speed going from sideline to sideline," Spielman said. "I'm excited to see who's going to get to the ball next year with the athletes we have up front."
The lack of sacks was enough of a concern to Richardson that he apologized during his opening remarks to his agent, Ben Dogra, for making his job of selling him more difficult.
"I got back there a lot, disrupted as coach Zimmer said. Honestly, just not finishing for me, in my book, to my standards," Richardson said. "I'm very effective around the quarterback. I just don't have the advantage of the numbers that people want to see."
With Everson Griffen and Danielle Hunter at defensive end backed up by Brian Robison and Joseph entrenched at the nose tackle spot, the insertion of Richardson at the under tackle, or 3-techinque Seahawks Rashaad Penny Jersey , position should indeed improve a defense that led the NFL in several key categories last season.
Tom Johnson took over the position last year, but he became a free agent. Spielman said Richardson's arrival means Johnson won't return. Shamar Stephen, who has played both tackle spots, also became a free agent and will likely not be back. The position is open because of the knee injury to 2013 first-round draft pick Sharrif Floyd, whose promising career was likely ended by nerve damage. His contract expired this week.
The spot could be vacant again in a year, given the short-term deal that Richardson preferred, but the Vikings are clearly in win-now mode as evidenced by their commitment to Cousins. Richardson had lunch with his fellow new acquisitionon Thursday.
"Humble guy, laid back," Richardson said. "Cool, calm and collected like you want your quarterback."
The Vikings are banking on the opposite from quarterbacks they're facing this year, with Zimmer and defensive line coach Andre Patterson confident they'll be able to maximize Richardson's ability.
"If you put yourself in the right situation with the right team and the right coaches Authentic Ryan Johansen Jersey ," Spielman said, "there's no reason why he shouldn't be in the Pro Bowl year in and year out."
Trying to address an offseason need, the Arizona Cardinals have signed cornerback Bene Benwikere to a one-year contract.
The 6-foot, 190-pound Benwikere played the first three of his four NFL seasons with Carolina after the Panthers drafted him in the fifth round out of San Jose State. So he is very familiar with new Cardinals head coach Steve Wilks, who was the Panthers' secondary coach all three of those years.
Benwikere has played in 39 NFL games, 13 as a starter, with two interceptions, 22 passes defensed, a sack, four fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles. He played in 14 games for Dallas last season after the Cowboys acquired him in a preseason trade with Cincinnati.

Google essentially got slapped hard when Epic Games, the developer on the super popular Fortnite, did not make the overall game available with the Play Store, but via its app.
Google warned Epic that this could potentially put Android users at greater security risk, however the game developer brushed it, insisting on-going it alone for a lot of reasons — including lacking to give Google a cut in-app revenue and "embracing open platforms."
Well, now the worst has happened. Despite having no obligation to take action, Google recently discovered an exploit inside the Fortnite installer app that allowed malicious apps set up on one's Android phone to hijack the download process to ensure that instead of downloading the overall game from Epic's server, it could possibly download and install something entirely different, which might leave the product open to attacks.

Here's a simple run-down of the items happened:
Google first discovered the vulnerability inside on the Fortnite installer app on Aug. 15 and immediately notified Epic. Details for that exploit Fortnite Items weren't public yet. Within 48 hrs, Epic patched the Fortnite installer and deployed it to any or all Android users who installed the app.
Here's where things obtain a little ugly. Even though Epic quickly released a patch with the installer app, it asked Google not to ever disclose the details on the exploit until after three months. Not only would there be time for users to Buy Fortnite Skins update their installer apps, but hackers also couldn't survive able to take advantage in the bug.
However, Google's bug disclosure guidelines explicitly states this:
"This bug is be subject to a 90-day disclosure deadline. After 3 months elapse or even a patch has been given broadly available, the bug report - including any comments and attachments - can be visible on the public."
Despite Epic's obtain Google to have to wait the full ninety days before disclosing the exploit, Google abided by a unique guidelines and shared the important points.
Per a Google rep posting to a Issue Tracker thread about the bug report:
"...now the patched version of Fortnite Installer may be available for 1 week we will go on to unrestrict this problem in line with Google's standard disclosure practices".
Naturally, the Fortnite developer wasn't happy about Google's decision by any means. Epic provided Mashable the next comment from CEO Tim Sweeney:
"Epic genuinely appreciated Google's effort to execute an in-depth security audit of Fortnite rigtht after our release on Android, and share the effects with Epic and then we could speedily issue an update to solve the flaw they discovered.
However, that it was irresponsible of Google to publicly disclose the technical details with the flaw so quickly, even though many installations we had not yet undergone an update and continued to be vulnerable.
An Epic security engineer, inside my urging, requested Google delay public disclosure for your typical three months to allow time for that update to become more widely installed. Google refused. You can read everthing at Google's security analysis work is appreciated and conserve the Android platform, however a corporation as powerful as Google should practice more responsible disclosure timing than this, and never endanger users through its counter-PR efforts against Epic's distribution of Fortnite over and above Google Play."
Ultimately, who's inside right and who's inside the wrong? Honestly, neither company is.
Google is correct that Epic's decision not to ever release Fortnite throughout the Play Store leaves the app weaker. As my colleague, Mashable tech reporter Matt Binder, previously clarified: Android users must disable certain Android security permissions as a way to install Fortnite then there is no guarantee they'll make sure you turn it well on after accomplishing this.
Maybe Google in fact is upset at the idea of failing to get enough any revenue through the massively popular game (apps on Google Play pay a share of the sales to Google), as Sweeney implied. But the Android gatekeeper maintains what has speedy disclosure from the exploit was done inside name of user security.
Following Sweeney's statement, Google had only this to state in response to Mashable's obtain comment: "User security is our the goal, so when part of our proactive monitoring for malware we identified a vulnerability within the Fortnite installer. We immediately notified Epic Games and so they fixed the matter."
And the simple truth is, Google does use a responsibility to make certain users are secure. Otherwise, third-party developers could provide entire platform a level worse reputation.
