Miami Dolphins rookie safety Minkah Fitzpatrick wants

to trademark his nickname but says he'd be happy to share it with Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. Both go by "FitzMagic Tampa Bay Buccaneers Hats ," and the Bucs' QB has been making headlines while leading his team to a 2-0 start as a replacement for the suspended Jameis Winston. That's not the reason Minkah Fitzpatrick recently filed for a federal trademark of the nickname, he said Wednesday."I would have done it a while back, but I couldn't because I was in college," the Dolphins' first-round draft pick said. He said he seeks the trademark because he wants to use the name to sell a line of apparel.Minkah Fitzpatrick said he has been called FitzMagic since junior high school in New Jersey. He said he has had no communication with Ryan Fitzpatrick about the shared nickname."I really don't think he's too worried about it," Minkah said. "If he wants the name, he can take it. He's a great player. If he wants it, he can contact me and my people, and he can have it."His application for a trademark drew criticism on social media."They want me to earn my nickname; that's what I'm going to do," Minkah Fitzpatrick said. "I've been playing pretty well for a rookie my first two games. I'm going to continue to progress. I'm going to focus on football. I'm not worried about silly nicknames."AP NFL website: pro32.ap.org and ://AP_NFLFollow Steven Wine on Twitter: ://Steve_Wine. The game had many ups and downs and reeked of the team as many have come to know it over the last few seasons. Penalties, no-calls, ghost-calls, turnovers and a late rally that fell short best summarizes the game void of detail. Now it’s time for some post game reactions. The offense lost some of it’s early season mojo. Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for another 400 yards and as Gil Arcia wrote here, entered the record books as the first quarterback to toss for 400 yards in three consecutive games. Three was number of the game for Fitzpatrick as he threw 3 interceptions (2 of which can be pinned on him) along with 3 touchdown passes. Yards aside, this was the version Fitzpatrick that most of the football world envisioned the Buccaneers getting while Jameis Winston served his suspension. The high risk-high reward gunslinger mentality finally cost the team a bit in this one though it was far from being solely on the shoulders of the teams signal caller. Following a Justin Evans interception Tampa Bay Buccaneers Hoodie , Peyton Barber got the offense going with a couple good runs to set up a touchdown pass from Ryan Fitzpatrick to Cameron Brate to give the Buccaneers and early lead. Barber would have little to no success after this drive, finishing the game with a total of 33 yards on 8 carries. Rodgers added 2 carries for -1 yards, Humphries carried one time for 4 yards and Fitzpatrick scrambled his way to 27 yards on 5 carries. Barber had the biggest carry of the night, going for 18 yards. Without the 18 yard scamper, Barber carried 7 times for 15 yards. The receiving core including tight ends worked hard in this one led by Mike Evans and O.J. Howard. Evans had 137 yards and a touchdown on 6 receptions including two amazing grabs shown below. Howard pulled in 6 passes for 72 yards and Chris Godwin had 4 catches for 74 yards and a touchdown. Godwin had his struggles including a ill timed fumble and several key drops, one of which was in the end-zone. The team was unable to get DeSean Jackson involved much, finishing with 3 catches for 37 yards. Brate got his first bit of real action of the season catching 3 of 4 targets for 34 yards and a touchdown. The offensive line again did an overall solid job protecting Fitzpatrick but a missed assignment directly led to a Fitzpatrick interception. Run blocking was below average yet again, struggling to consistently open holes albeit they did succeed in allowing Barber to spring for a good gain on the second drive. As a whole, the offense did enough to win the football game. The turnovers, all four of them, are inexcusable and need to get under control. The pick six from Fitzpatrick (shown below) just can’t happen. The play calling was questionable in a few key moments but ultimately in this gamethe offense as a whole didn’t execute to the level that they are capable of.Defensive backfield got gashed and gap discipline late was an issue. The defensive line had a solid game led by veteran free-agent acquisition Jason Pierre-Paul. JPP did receive a personal foul for a hit to the head of Big Ben that was quite the acting job the by quarterback to sell the force of contact, but he also contributed 2 sacks to give him 3 on the season, one off the league lead in sacks. Pierre-Paul’s 3 sacks are more than any Buccaneer defensive end had a season ago. Vinny Curry and Gerald McCoy combined to split a sack which you won’t hear much about due to the sack that didn’t happen late in the 4th quarter by Gerald McCoy. On the play in question, McCoy nearly gets to Big Ben but was held on the play and in turn, the Steelers ended up extending the drive and went on to win the ballgame. The linebackers were swarming but a few miscues including a poor angle and a vacated zone by Kwon and David let to a few big Steeler plays across the middle. Lavonte David did have an otherwise stellar game including a huge stop early in the ballgame that was followed by a Pierre-Paul sack to close out a Steeler drive in the first half. David led the team with 9 total tackles. The defensive backs would best be served split into two groups Cheap Customized Tampa Bay Buccaneers Jerseys , veterans and young guns. The young guns, including Justin Evans, Carl Davis, M.J. Stewart and Jordan Whitehead played well. The veteran tandem of Brent Grimes and Chris “Highlight” Conte however did not. In Conte’s defense, he had little to do with the overall game as he was injured shortly after being demolished by Vance McDonald in this clip here. Justin Evans had himself a solid ball game against the Steelers that included this early interception of Big Ben on the Steelers second drive. Evans did play a big role in the Steelers scoring on a pass to Antonio Brown that first saw Brent Grimes playing off coverage and whiff on the tackle attempt. The biggest story of this game for the defensive backs was Carl Davis and how well he played, in particular when guarding Antonio Brown, versus how rusty a game it was for Brent Grimes who struggled in coverage early and seemed to be debating on whether or not to tackle the Steelers running back late in this ballgame. Also of note corner wise, Ryan Smith was noticeably absent from the defense just a week removed from the game of his life. I wrote a bit on that here. Special Teams play. Catanzaro made all 5 of his kicks which included 2 field goals in this game. Punter Brian Anger worked in three punts totaling 126 yards that included a 62 yarder and one punt inside the 20. Kicking game wise, the special teams units did their job. Kick return wise the Buccaneers struggled aside from an electric punt return touchdown from DeSean Jackson that was brought back due to a bad holding call against Isaiah Johnson. Shaun Wilson struggled returning kicks on his 5 attempts, netting a big gain of only 17 yards and finishing with 68 yards returning in total. It may be time to question if Wilson is cut out for the job after a few questionable decisions and his spot potentially hindering the availability of Ronald Jones suiting up as one of the final 46 going forward. The wrap-up. The Buccaneers nearly went 3-0 to start the season and that in and of itself is incredible given the early on expectations. With the team now 2-1 and gearing up to take on Khalil Mack and the Chicago Bears, it’s time for this front office and the coaches to not let one loss roll into another. This team desperately needs to turn things around this season and the start they are off to is just what they needed. Fitzpatrick saw the magic wear off a good bit on Monday night and how he starts this next ballgame will very easily dictate his immediate future along with Jameis Winston’s. The offense is in prime position to continue putting up big plays and points. The defense needs to step it up in all phases. The loss was tough but it was not a back breaker. Fans should be proud of how this team battled back and the players should look to build upon their efforts. As always, Go Bucs!

BEIJING Alonzo Mourning Jersey , Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- Beijing authorities announced Friday that a new house rental policy will be put into effect on October 31.

According to the rental policy, local governments should increase the supply of houses available for rent around industrial parks and on collectively-used land. Newly built houses should be rented to those working in the industrial parks or in the vicinity, and the area should be equipped with educational and medical facilities.

An online supervisory platform will be set up, which will provide house rental information, electronic rental contracts and applications, and supervision of transactions, to protect the rights of tenants.

The rental policy guarantees the education rights of tenants' children. It said Beijing residents who do not own houses can apply for their children to receive compulsory education in the area near their rented home, provided that they have lived in the area for at least three years and one of the couple has worked in the area for at least three years.

Non-Beijing residents can also apply for their children to receive compulsory education in the area of their rented houses.

Beijing residents renting government-subsidized housing such as public rental houses can have their hukou, or household registration, registered and transferred to their rented home.

Beijing authorities solicited public opinion on the draft house rental policy from August 17 to 25.

In May, Beijing authorities said they would increase the supply of houses for rent within the next five years, and that 500,000 new houses would be built.

BEIJING, March 14 (Xinhua) -- U.S. officials say the searching area for a Malaysia Airlines plane with 239 people aboard that has disappeared for almost a week may expand to the Indian Ocean.

"It is my understanding that one possible piece of information or collection -- pieces of information has led to the possibility that a new area -- a search area may be opened in the Indian Ocean," White House Press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters Thursday.

Carney did not specify what the new information was and Malaysian officials have not commented on his words.

The Boeing 777-200 vanished off the civilian radar screen about one hour after it took off in Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 0:41 a.m. (1641GMT) Saturday. It was due to land in Beijing at 6:30 a.m.(2230GMT).

A CNN report quoted a senior U.S. official as saying that Malaysian authorities believe they have several "pings" from the airliner's service data system, known as ACARS, transmitted to satellites in the four or five hours after the last transponder signal, suggesting the plane flew to the Indian Ocean.

That information combined with known radar data and knowledge of fuel range leads officials to believe the plane may have made it to that ocean, which is in the opposite direction of its original route, the official said.

This new information led to a decision to move the USS Kidd into the Indian Ocean to begin searching that area, the official added.

CNN quoted William Marks, commander of the U.S. 7th Fleet, as saying that the Navy destroyer is moving westward into the Strait of Malacca at the request of the Malaysian government.

Marks also told CNN that searching such a wide area would not be easy, as moving into the Indian Ocean is like going "from a chess board to a football field."

The Associated Press on Friday quoted a U.S. official as saying the plane sent signals to a satellite for four hours after it went missing, indicating that it was still flying for hundreds of miles or more.

The aircraft was not transmitting data to the satellite, but was instead sending out a signal to establish contact, the report quoted the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, as saying.

Malaysia Airlines did not subscribe to that service, but the plane was able to connect with the satellite and was automatically sending pings, the official said.

"It's like when your cellphone is off but it still sends out a little 'I'm here' message to the cellphone network," the official said. "That's how sometimes they can triangulate your position even though you're not calling because the phone every so often sends out a little bleep. That's sort of what this thing was doing."

Messages involving a different, more rudimentary data service also were received from the airliner for a short time after the plane's transponder -- a device used to identify the plane to radar -- went silent, the official said.

If the plane had disintegrated during flight or had suffered some other catastrophic failure, all signals --the pings to the satellite, the data messages and the transponder -- would be expected to stop at the same time, the report said.

A Reuters report quoted two sources close to U.S. investigation as saying that the system transmits such pings about once an hour and five or six were heard.

But the sources added the pings alone cannot prove that the plane was in the air or on the ground.

Boeing and Rolls-Royce, which supplied its Trent engines, declined to comment.

Malaysian authorities on Thursday denied news reports that the plane may have continued flying for some time after last contact, saying these reports are "inaccurate."

More than 80 ships and planes from at least 12 contributors are now combing the waters on both sides of the Malaysian peninsula to locate the missing plane.

One part of the hunt is in the South China Sea, where the aircraft was seen on civilian radar flying northeast before vanishing without any indication of technical problems.

A similar-sized search is also being conducted in the Strait of Malacca because of military radar sightings that might indicate the plane turned in that direction after its last contact, passing over the Malay Peninsula.

by Liu Tian

TOKYO Avery Bradley Authentic Jersey , Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- As almost two and a half years have passed since the catastrophic quake and tsunami hit Japan's northeast area in March 2011, it seems that painful memories brought by the disaster is quietly fading away.

However, amid slow cleanup and reconstruction process, local communities call for more supports and cooperation, both national and international and from both public and private sectors, to save damaged culture heritages in the affected region, saying it is a core issue to restore daily life of local residents.

According to the Agency for Culture Affairs under Japan's culture ministry, about 714 designated national treasures, important culture properties, historic sites and other monuments have been damaged due to the calamity as of July 29, 2011. However, the total number would be much larger if the non-designated and non-registered are included.

Satoshi Yamato, councilor on culture properties at the culture properties department at the agency, said that the government allocated about 25 million U.S. dollars in the fiscal 2012 to help save the national culture treasures.

"We should maintain allocating necessary fund in every year to carry out the project," Yamato told Xinhua on Saturday in Kesennuma city, one of the hardest-hit areas by the 2011 disaster in the Miyagi prefecture, adding that it will be about 20 million dollars in the 2013 fiscal year as the recovery of the heritages across the affected area has been improved.

The councilor said that infrastructure constructing of the affected communities has been moving smoothly, but "we still have a lot of things to do to rebuild people's daily life. Culture properties have the best meaning for each community."

Collaborating with funding support from private sectors, the agency has supported several kinds of activities such as workshops and culture property tours by private sector leaders and other communities in an effort to evoke more awareness from not only the disaster-hit area, but also from Tokyo, Japan and the rest of the world.

Takeyama rice store and its residential place, one of the Kesennuma's national registered culture properties that completed in October 1930, was seriously damaged as its front pillar was swept away by the powerful tsunami.

Seiko Takeyama, the owner of the property, said she wanted to abandon the house after the disaster due to the fatal damage.

"I don't want to bring troubles to others, so I gave up after the event," she told Xinhua, "but our community persuaded me to preserve the building and they will help restore the property."

Mitsuo Inagaki, World Monuments Fund's representative for Japan, said that cultural heritage such as historic buildings and traditional performance arts have the best meaning for the total people in the community and are deeply woven to daily life of many local residents, especially the senior.

"It was not only the culture property, it means much further. The buildings represent local people's life that they get used to. To restore the property means not to recover the buildings themselves, it means to revive the community and to bring their real life back," said Inagaki, who visited the affected area many times to help them restore the culture properties as an international aid.

Along with other four national registered culture properties, Takeyama rice store is just under a condition of urgent repair as the final restore plan will be mapped out when the city and local communities achieve an agreement on how to rebuild the city, such to what extent the land should rise higher so as to prevent tsunami.

In another badly damaged city of Ishinomaki, an ancient orthodox church was also destroyed by tsunami that penetrated the church directly from front door to back door, almost smashing everything inside but, fortunately, left the architecture framework.

The church, one of the Japanese oldest wooden churches, also faces difficulties to be repaired as it is a city designated tangible culture property, as the Japanese government will not allocate fund to restore the building protected by the municipality independently. And local community only collected about 40 percent of the budget that could afford the repair. "Support from governments varies depending on current laws and regulation and this explain the needs of support from private sectors," said Inagaki. "It is significant not only in terms of architectural history, but for providing spiritual support to the region.. it is valuable as a symbol of recovery from the disaster. "

Meanwhile, some local communities are also struggling to recover their intangible folk culture property.

Residents from Onagawa have been trying to make new masks of their traditional lion dance in efforts to call on people to return back to their hometown, as a large number of population has left the area after the disaster.

"We could strengthen the unity of our community by the lion dance, our tradition," said Eiichi Hiratsuka, manager of Onagawa lion dance tradition recovery, adding that the tradition could put off evil things and bring luck to families.

According to Yamato, expecntry have been mobilized to endeavor in the cause of restore Japan's culture heritages in the affected area, adding his agency will kick off works in former hazard zones in Fukushima prefecture, which was suffered world's worst nuclear disaster after the tsunami.

Jameis Winston is back on the job

Ryan Fitzpatrick Jersey , though the Tampa Bay Buccaneers still aren't saying if it's as the team's starting quarterback.Winston's three-game suspension for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy ended Tuesday, the first day the fourth-year pro was permitted to return to the team's training facility and have contact with coaches and teammates. It was a day off for players following Monday night's 30-27 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, however coach Dirk Koetter said the first overall pick from the 2015 draft showed up bright and early, ready to begin preparation for the Chicago Bears. What Koetter declined to say was whether Winston or Ryan Fitzpatrick, who has the Bucs off to a 2-1 start while throwing for more than 400 yards in a league-record three consecutive games will start Sunday."I know there's a lot of interest in the quarterback thing. I did talk to both Jameis and Fitz," Koetter began."It's great to see Jameis back in the building. He was here early and working hard. We welcome Jameis back, glad to have him. Short week," the coach added. "He assured me he was ready to go Cheap Carlton Davis Jersey , which I don't doubt for a minute that's he's been working hard."Without elaborating, Koetter said he shared the team's plans with both quarterbacks."We know what we're going to do. Both guys know what we're going to do," the coach said, "I hope everybody can appreciate it doesn't do us any good to tell our opponents what we're going to do. That'll work itself out as the week goes on."Winston started 45 of 48 games over the past three seasons, going 18-27 while throwing for 11,636 yards, 69 touchdowns and 44 interceptions. The 2013 Heisman Trophy winner has topped 4,000 yards passing twice Cheap Chris Godwin Jersey , but has yet to lead Tampa Bay to the playoffs.Fitzpatrick, a 35-year-old journeyman who played for seven teams in 14 seasons, has thrown for 1,230 yards and 11 touchdowns in Winston's absence. The Bucs rallied from a 20-point halftime deficit to make Monday night's game close. Fitzpatrick finished with 411 yards and three TDs, however he also helped dig the hole Tampa Bay couldn't escape with interceptions on three consecutive pass attempts in the second quarter.Winston is expected to meet with the media on Wednesday, when team begins preparation for the Bears.Fitzpatrick was asked Monday night about Winston's impending return and what it might mean for his role moving forward."You know, I have so much fun playing this game. ... I'm here just ready to do whatever it takes to help the team win, and I think that will be my mindset going forward Bryan Anger Jersey ," Fitzpatrick said.Fitzpatrick also started three games last season, going 2-1 while Winston was sidelined with a shoulder injury."This quarterback issue we have right now is not an adversity," Koetter said. "We are blessed. I think we have three good quarterbacks on our roster right now. Not all teams in the league can say that."Full Game Day Inactives - Week 1 For the first game of the season, the Buccaneers are already missing some key pieces. We know Jameis Winston is out, but he isn’t considered an “inactive” since he’s on the suspension list and isn’t officially part of the 53-man roster just yet.Brent Grimes suffered a groin injury Friday in practice and will miss the game. First round draft pick Vita Vea hasn’t practiced in what seems like an eternity and won’t be suiting up in week one. Here is the full list of inactive players for both teams;Tampa Bay BuccaneersCB Brent GrimesDT Vita VeaOL Alex CappaOL Adam GettisRB Ronald JonesOL Mike LiedtkeWR Justin WatsonNew Orleans SaintsWR Cam MeredithOL Andrus PeatDT Taylor StallworthDE Mitchell LoewenCB P.J. Odell Beckham Jr. has fun with Saquon Barkley’s injury

That was Odell Beckham Jr. of the New York Giants on Thursday Youth Evan Engram Jersey , kiddingly chiding running back Saquon Barkley for straining a hamstring during practice early in the week. Beckham, in case you don’t remember, missed the first four games of the season during his 2014 rookie season because of a hamstring injury. On a serious note, Beckham did have some advice for the exciting rookie.“I told him, just take your time. There’s nothing you need to prove to any of us, there’s nothing you need to prove to anybody. You know what you’re capable of, I know what you’re capable of, we know what you’re capable of, it’s just about getting healthy,” Beckham said.“I remember I think I pulled my hamstring my rookie year, and just having to deal with that, I kind of can give him some insight on what I went through. But at the same time, I still have to step back because it’s his journey and you have to let him make his decisions. But just trying to keep his spirits up, he wants to be out there, he’s always been a guy who works hard. Just keeping his mind right, man, he’s going to be good come September 9th and that’s all that really matters now.”Here are a few more takeaways from Beckham’s time with the media on Thursday. On the decision to practice against the Detroit LionsBeckham, without a new contract and still not having played in a game since fracturing his ankle last season, was a full participant in joint practices vs. the Lions.“I just need it, the season is coming up. You need that work, I can’t really shy away from it right now,” he said.“There were some periods where I remember I was going eight plays in a row Landon Collins Jersey , or something like that. You kind of build up that wind. And even in practice, I’ve been getting pushed a lot at practice. Asking for reps just because I need it. I need to feel that. I need to feel eight to 10 plays, maybe 15 plays, and just kind of get that back. It’s just very helpful to be able to come out and go against somebody else and compete. Every day that you have the chance to go out on the field, we have a chance to get better right now. So, that’s all I’m focusing on.”The contract questionOf course questions about his contract would come. Beckham, as he did a couple of weeks ago, deflected.“I definitely think it’s going to work itself out. When is it going to happen? You don’t know. That’s the business side that is still new to me in a sense, this is the first time I’ve had to deal with this or go through any of those things. I believe that it’s going to work itself out, it’s just a matter of time. Just like everything in life, it’s timing,” Beckham said. “I’ll let them figure it out. Right now, I just want to be back on the field. It feels good out there to run routes, to catch passes, to be able to be with those guys, grinding every day. We’re up at seven, we have meetings, this, that, just to be back in the swing of things, I just feel like I’m back in love with what I’ve always loved.”Will he play Friday night?Beckham was evasive about whether he would play against the Lions, or in any of the Giants preseason games.“Coach (Shurmur) and I have a game plan. We usually figure it out and we just go from there. So Authentic Jon Halapio Jersey , we’ll see what it is for this week, and then worry about next week when it comes,” Beckham said. “I’ve been playing football all my life, football is always going to be football. I can go in preseason and get hit a million times and go in a game and get hit once. I can go in preseason and get hit once, you never know, every play in football is a dangerous play. I feel very confident in myself and, like I said, I’ve been playing football all of my life, so it’s always going to be football to me.”Giants news, 9/14: Kaelin Clay will get another chance, more Good morning, New York Giants fans! Here are your Friday morning headlines.Sticking with ClayThe Giants won’t give up on punt returner Kaelin Clay after one unproductive game (three returns, 4 yards) that included a game-ending turnover on a muffed punt.“You’re not just going to give him one chance and throw him away,” special team coordinator Thomas McGaughey said on Thursday. “There’s a lot of things that happen over the course of the game that we all kind of want to get back, but Kaelin is a pro. This is his third year (in this league) going in, he’s made a lot of plays in this league, and I expect him to do that moving forward.”Clay, 26, has averaged 8.8 yards on 45 punt returns with two touchdowns and 23.2 yards on 17 kickoff returns in his career. The muff was the fourth fumble of Clay’s career on 68 touches, including six pass receptions.Odell Beckham sore after returnThe game against Jacksonville was Beckham’s first since Week 5 of the 2017 season when he suffered a fractured ankle. After catching 11 passes in 15 targets while playing 68 snaps he admitted “feeling it.”“I’m not going to lie, I was sore after the game,” Beckham said. “First time in Cheap Evan Engram Jersey , whatever how many days it was, 300 something, getting hit out there. I felt good to make it out, but I was feeling it. I was feeling it the Monday after.”“The sky is the limit”Running back Saquon Barkley is optimistic about the capability of the offense despite scoring just 15 points against the Jaguars.“The sky is the limit. I knew that before we even got on the field,” Barkley said. “If you go back and you look at the game, there’s just little things, little mistakes we made as a team that kind of kept putting us playing behind the line of scrimmage. Getting behind the sticks, that’s what I meant. Little stuff like that, if we continue to work on that and get better in those areas and execute the opportunities that we had, definitely the game could be a very different outcome. But you’ve got to give credit to Jacksonville.”Around the Inter-Google102 Modern-Era Nominees For The Hall of Fame's Class of 2019 | Pro Football Hall of Fame Official SiteList of nominees to be cut down to 25 semifinalists in November; 15 finalists announced in January10 NFL quarterback stats that actually mattered this week - SBNation.comHere are 11 random observations about QB play during week one of the NFL season.NFL picks 2018: Geoff Schwartz’s 3 best bets for week 2 - SBNation.comRetired NFL lineman and gambling man Geoff Schwartz has three NFL games he is loving on the NFL’s Week 2 schedule. The new, one-man Cowboys show that awaits the GiantsRarely does a game contain such singular focus on one individual as the way the Giants’ defense is fixated on Ezekiel Elliott. It takes a lot to put a smile on Bill Belichick's face

and get a handshake from the stoic New England Patriots coach in the fourth game of the preseason. Third-string quarterback Danny Etling did it all on one play.In a meaningless game Thursday night in which neither team played their starters http://www.authenticsnewyorkgiants.com/cheap-kerry-wynn-jersey , Etling added a lighthearted moment to the contest and iced the Patriots' 17-12 win with an 86-yard run on an option keeper that totally fooled the New York Giants' defense."Well that was one of the most exciting plays I have seen in preseason, I'll say. Great call by Chad," Belichick said, referring to the selection by receivers coach Chad O'Shea, who was given a chance to call the play.Etling, who also tossed a 1-yard touchdown pass to Ralph Webb early in the second half, said he looked behind him seven times on the jaunt down the right sideline."I just wanted to make sure no one was catching me," said Etling, who finished 18 of 32 for 157 yards after throwing six passes in the first preseason game. "I didn't realize you could use the Jumbotron."Etling's big run came on the first play after an Alex Tanney-led drive from the New York 1 stalled at the Patriots 14 with New England ahead 10-6 with 4:11 to play.Etling, who finished with 113 yards on seven carries, faked a handoff and ran an option around right end and scored untouched to give the Patriots a 3-1 preseason record."When's the last time a quarterback ran for 85 (really 86) yards, let alone for the Patriots," Belichick said. "I'd say at least 20 years, I know that. Maybe (Steve) Grogan, (Jim) Plunkett. Eighty, that's a long run."Nobody has worked harder than Danny. He's the first one in, last one out. He is diligent. When something like that happens, you are happy for him."The Giants finished their first preseason under new coach Pat Shurmur at 2-2.'"I thought the guys played hard, we didn't make enough plays in the end to win the game," Shurmur said.Giants quarterback Eli Manning chatted with receiver Odell Beckham Jr. in the first half, while Tom Brady sat next to the New England water coolers and relaxed. Two Giants penalties for lowering the head to initiate contact set up Stephen Gostkowski 33-yard field goal in the first quarter.Rookie Kyle Lauletta, who made the start for New York with Manning and backup Davis Webb held out http://www.giantsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-will-hernandez-jersey , put the Giants ahead early in the second quarter with a 41-yard pass to Amba Etta-Tawo. Backup placekicker Marshall Koehn missed the extra point.Etling set up the touchdown to Webb with a 40-yard pass to K.J. Maye.Tanney closed out the scoring with an 8-yard TD pass to Alonzo Russell with 48 seconds to play. The 2-point conversion run failed.GOOD IMPRESSIONSGiants CB Donte Deayon, who battled a hamstring injury in the preseason, might have secured a roster spot with two interceptions. His drawback is he is small and injury prone."I won't be nervous," Deayon said of Saturday's final cut. "At this point, I put it all out on the table, I put my best foot forward. At this point, what happens, happens." ... Patriots free agent CB J.C. Jackson also had two interceptions and broke up a deep pass before being carted off late in the third quarter because of dehydration. "Yeah, I had something to prove tonight. I knew I had to ball. This is the last preseason game and I'm trying to make the roster," Jackson said. ... Giants veteran CB Chris Lewis-Harris was excellent in coverage and tackling.OBJThe NFL's highest paid receiver will head into the season for the Giants having not played a down in the preseason. He has not appeared in a game since breaking his left ankle on Oct. 8. Coach Pat Shurmur said he has been cautious with the 25-year-old wideout, but says Beckham will be ready for the opener.LEG WEARYPunters Ryan Allen of the Patriots and Riley Dixon of the Giants had busy nights, kicking six times each.ANTHEMThere were no displays of protest by either the Patriots or Giants, with both teams standing on their sideline for the anthem.INJURIESPatriots: OT Ulrick John (foot) and CB Jackson (dehydration) left the game. He told the team’s official website this week that he’s trying not to stress over having lost in Week 1.“I’ve been involved in a lot of first games of the season,” Shurmur said. “You just move forward. That’s the important thing is you move forward. You learn from the mistakes you made, you build on the things you did well and you just keep moving. That’s the important piece. That may get old as we go through these Mondays with me saying that, but you can win a game and still go through that process. When you lose a game, it hurts more, but you still go through the same process.”There are 30 players on the Giants roster who weren’t part of last season’s disaster, when the team started 0-5 and finished 3-13. They believe this team is different than last season’s http://www.giantsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-janoris-jenkins-jersey , than most Giants teams of recent vintage that went home for the winter when the regular season ended.Wide receiver Sterling Shepard called the game against Jacksonville “really encouraging” despite the loss.“If you look at the game, we were a few plays away from coming out with a different outcome,” he said. “But guys do a good job around here just bouncing back and kind of brushing it off, and fixing the things we need to fix and I feel like that’s what we’ll do this week. Be ready for Dallas.”Odell Beckham Jr. is also spreading the optimistic message.“There was just a lot of moments and opportunities [against Jacksonville] where we had chances and we didn’t connect. Whether it was the first game or whatever it is, we just missed those chances, but they are right there,” Beckham said. “Our plan is for them to be there all year, so instead of seven points it could have been three extra touchdowns. There’s twenty-eight, it’s just a matter of time before everything starts clicking. We came out and put our best foot forward and it’s a good place to start.”The Giants opened the week as 3.5-point underdogs. The Giants hope to win their second game of the

year next Monday night and they’ll have three new faces on the roster as they try to beat the Falcons. The team announced a series of roster moves on Tuesday. They moved two players — wide receiver Cody Latimer and linebacker Ray-Ray Armstrong — to injured reserve and waived cornerback Donte Deayon.Latimer Youth Customized New York Giants Jerseys , who signed with the Giants as a free agent, has a hamstring injury. He had six catches for 108 yards in four appearances. His spot in the receiver group will be taken by a former Broncos teammate as the Giants have signed Bennie Fowler. Fowler had 56 catches for 698 yards and five touchdowns in Denver over the last three seasons and failed to make the Bears this summer.Armstrong, who has a concussion, had 20 tackles for the Giants this year. Deayon had six tackles in four appearances. Linebacker Ukeme Eligwe and cornerback Grant Haley were promoted from the practice squad. Derek Carr showed enough in one drive of what used to be the dress rehearsal game in the preseason for coach Jon Gruden to shut him down until Oakland's season opener.Green Bay coach Mike McCarthy didn't need to see anything at all from Aaron Rodgers.Carr led a scoring drive on his only possession of a shorter-than-expected preseason appearance, and the Raiders beat the Green Bay Packers 13-6 on Friday night."'I had seen enough www.giantsauthorizedshops.com ," Gruden said. "There was not much more to see. The battle for us is who's behind Derek. ... I was very pleased with Derek and how he started the game."Gruden had said earlier in the week that Carr and the offensive starters would likely play into the second quarter. But he pulled him after an opening drive that ended when Reggie Gilbert bull-rushed right tackle Donald Penn into Carr, leading to a sack and fumble that Carr recovered. The Packers rested Rodgers and the rest of the offensive starters. They were held to two field goals and 228 yards of offense behind backups Brett Hundley and DeShone Kizer."We wanted to get some things done offensively. Didn't accomplish that," McCarthy said. "The obvious is the penalties kind of were the theme for the evening. It was a sloppy football game."The Raiders won when Chris Warren III scored on a 1-yard run with 5:07 to play.Carr went deep on the opening play, completing a 49-yard pass to Amari Cooper following a play-action fake. The Raiders moved to the 4 before the sack ended the drive and led to a field goal.Carr then went to the bench after playing just two series the entire preseason. He's expected to sit out next week at Seattle and not play again until the season opener against the Rams on Sept. 10."If we practice at the speed that we do, I feel you can go out in the preseason and play a couple of plays here and there and be ready for the regular season New York Giants Womens T-Shirt ," Carr said.Backup Connor Cook struggled, going 6 for 15 for 72 yards and throwing a pass that was intercepted by Green Bay rookie Jaire Alexander . Cook threw another interception that rookie Josh Jackson returned for a TD, but that got overturned by a defensive hold on the other side of the field.E.J. Manuel also turned the ball over in the second half and Gruden said he wasn't sure his backup quarterback was currently on the roster.Hundley wasn't much better, going 8 for 14 for 78 yards and leading one field goal drive in the first half. Kizer was 11 for 23 for 120 yards and also led one field goal drive as the Raiders took advantage of Green Bay's backup offensive line."They were getting around our edges a little bit," Kizer said. "It required me to step up here and there. I was trying to avoid some sacks New York Giants Hats , trying to keep the ball in play and have some positive plays. That's part of the game, being able to fight adversity."TRADING TEAMSIn warmups, Carr and Rodgers took the opportunity to throw to old teammates who are now on the opposite team. Carr threw to his former Fresno State teammate Davante Adams and Rodgers warmed up with former Packers receiver Jordy Nelson."Derek threw Davante one and Aaron threw me one," Nelson said. "It's pretty rare to have that setup. It was fun to see those guys."NATIONAL ANTHEMRaiders running back Marshawn Lynch once again sat during the national anthem. Lynch also sat for the anthem all of last season but never gave a reason for his decision. No other players on either team demonstrated during the anthem.HELMET RULEThere was one penalty under the new rule prohibiting players from leading with their helmets. He also shares a fun tidbit from Aaron Donald’s daughter, a requirement he could not meet on Sunday Another week Gerald Everett Color Rush Jersey , another win for the Los Angeles Rams. After a battle in cold temperatures and in the snow (kinda?), the Rams leave Denver unscathed (in record not injury) at 6-0.Let’s take a look at the stock report:Stock DownOLB Matt LongacreAnother game, another invisible performance for Longacre. Not only that, but at one point his back flared up and he was questionable to return. For a guy who just spent the past few months with multiple injuries (back, biceps) this is not good. It might be time to start looking elsewhere when it comes to an outside pass rush.CB Troy HillHill was awful yesterday. Call it how you will, but you can’t let three guys get over the top of you. Not only that, but he also registered a pass interference penalty. He was clearly the weak spot on the defense and Case Keenum was smart to continuously target Hill deep. Why is Hill even starting over Sam Shields at this point? At first I thought injury might have something to do with it, but Shields was playing on special teams and checked in at the end of the game.OLB Samson EbukamSamson Ebukam actually had a strip-sack early in the game that was negated because Keenum picked the ball up and threw it (BS rule) but was invisible outside of that. I’m surprised that Ebukam and Longacre have been this ineffective rushing the passer when getting to play with arguably the best trio of defensive lineman in the league.TE Tyler HigbeeThis isn’t so much Higbee’s fault, but over the past few weeks it’s starting to become the Gerald Everett show. Not that Everett is seeing a major role or major targets, but Higbee has been a complete non-factor in the passing game the past week or two. It looks like the Rams are slowly transitioning into an increased role for Everett which makes sense coming off an offseason where he was injured.Stock UpILB Cory LittletonAnother game another solid performance for Littleton. Littleton registered four tackles with an assisted tackle and nearly had an interception that turned into a pass deflection which was intercepted by SS John Johnson III. Littleton’s speed and versatility make him a much better fit for this defense than Alec Ogletree ever was.RB Todd GurleyUnreal. Gurley toted the rock 28 times for 208 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Not only that, but Gurley had another two receptions for 17 yards. This wasn’t just a great game from Gurley Cooper Kupp Jersey , it was something the Rams hadn’t seen for 17 years since Marshall Faulk rushed for over 200 yards in 2001. Gurley averaged 7.4 yards per carry. Keep feeding the horse!WR Robert WoodsIn 5/6 games this year, Robert Woods has crossed 80+ yards receiving. Three of those were 100+ receiving yards performances. Woods stepped up again as the only fully healthy (well, nobody is really fully healthy now) receiver with seven receptions for 109 yards on Sunday. Not only has Woods been a lowkey star, but he actually leads the Rams offense in both receptions (38) and receiving yards (524). Death, taxes, and Robert Woods killing defensive backs.S Lamarcus JoynerFinally Joyner makes his presence felt in a positive manner. Joyner had five tackles on the day with two more assisted tackles also registering his first sack of the season on a impressive spin move on a running back. He also registered a tackle-for-loss. Hopefully this is the kick starter on a more noticeable Joyner. After a perfect start to the season, the Rams head back into the state of California to face off with another divisional rival in the San Francisco 49ers.

ENGLEWOOD , Colo. (AP) — Covering tight ends has been the Denver Broncos‘ bugaboo for several seasons, a trend that continued when they allowed Seattle’s Will Dissly to become the first tight end in league history to top 100 yards receiving and score a to

Up next: Jared Cook , who’s coming off a career-best 180-yard performance in Oakland’s opener.Dissly did his damage on just three catches, covering Adam Gotsis Color Rush Jersey 105 yards.“I tell you what, he was one of my favorite guys in the draft. He’s a good player, but we can’t do that,” Broncos coach Vance Joseph said. “The first catch he made, we missed four tackles. The coverage wasn’t great, but we missed four tackles. The second play he made down the seam, again our eyes are bad and we’re out of position.”Actually, Joseph was forgetting Dissly’s first catch, a 15-yard touchdown grab in which the fourth-round draft pick out of Washington burst past rookie linebacker Bradley Chubb, the fifth overall pick in the draft. It was Dissly’s second catch when he broke four tackles before Brandon Marshall dragged him down at the 5-yard line following a zigzagging 66-yard catch and run, and it was his third grab, a 24-yarder, that put him over 100 yards.“That’s been a problem for us and we’ve got to fix it,” Joseph said. “We’ve got to coach better and we’ve got to play better.”The Raiders (0-1) visit the Broncos (1-0) on Sunday and Cook is getting as much attention from Denver’s coaching staff and defenders as Marshawn Lynch, Amari Cooper, Martavis Bryant, Jordy Nelson and Derek Carr.“The tight end is going to be a challenge this week,” Joseph said. “He is a physical mismatch for most safeties and definitely for backers. We have to play to bracket him and to play a safety over top of him like he’s a receiver. Hopefully we can rush the passer, speed the quarterback up, and kind of help us cover these guys.”That’s what they did last week when they sacked the mobile Russell Wilson six times, their most since Nov. 27 Phillip Lindsay Jersey , 2016, in an overtime loss to Kansas City. Von Miller , who had three sacks last week, has always rated the Raiders as the best O-line in the league, one he insists is even better now that Donald Penn moved to right tackle to make room for rookie left tackle Kolton Miller.“Donald Penn can play any position on the line (and) 77 is a beast. He was the best tackle in this year’s draft,” Miller said. “I’ve always said the Raiders have the best offensive line in football. They made it a whole lot better with the Miller kid.”Last season, tight ends averaged 64 yards a game against Denver, and the Broncos were especially burned by Jason Witten (97 yards, TD), Evan Engram (82 yards, TD), Hunter Henry (73 yards), Travis Kelce (133 yards, TD) and Rob Gronkowski (74 yards).Throw in Nick Vannett’s 11-yard catch and Seahawks tight ends had 116 yards and a TD last week.“The tight ends, we haven’t fixed that yet,” Joseph said.He knows a quick fix is necessary Sunday to contain Cook.“He’s 6-6, he has great ball skills, he runs a 4.5 (40-yard dash),” Joseph said. “We have to have a great plan to get him contained. We can’t walk in here on Monday and say we didn’t contain him. If we don’t contain him, it’s going to be a long day for us.” In the midst of a three-game losing streak, the Denver Broncos are preparing to battle the unbeaten Los Angeles Rams. They will need just more than a good week of practice to buck the skid and defeat the Rams. A win on Sunday would change the narrative of the Broncos’ season and subsequently save a few jobs in the process. Most likely they will need a miracle to come out victorious, but miracles happen every day, so why not on tomorrow afternoon? Anyhow, here is a deeper look at the Rams https://www.broncosfanstore.com/Derek-Wolfe-Jersey , some keys to the game and my final score prediction. A quick glance the Rams’ offenseLast week the Broncos’ defense was destroyed by the New York Jets, who entered last week’s affair having one of the league’s worst offenses. On Sunday that same defense who put up a disastrous effort will be going up against a much more formidable high-powered Rams offense that is one of the league’s best. But hey, maybe we can find a little hope that they will be slowed down a tad with a forecast of several inches of snow for the game, right folks? After enduring half a decade of Jeff Fisher led mediocrity, the Rams went out and hired rising star and offensive mastermind Sean McVay in 2017. In his first year as their head coach, he was a key cog in revamping the league’s worst offense from 2016 (in points and yards) to the league’s number one scoring offense and tenth ranked in respect to total yards. Now that is a hell of a turn around! The Rams’ offensive success has continued five games into the 2018 season and is third in points scored (averaging nearly 35 points per contest) and tops in yards produced (468 yards per game). The offense is led by Jared Goff, who is completing an impressive 72 percent of his passes and has 1,727 yards and 12 touchdowns on the season with only 4 interceptions. The wide receiver trio of Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods and the offseason trade acquired Brandin Cooks are lethal. Each of them has 26 receptions and 400 yards or more and often make their living operating in the middle of the field — giving the Rams arguably the best trio of receivers in the league. Their feature back and perhaps their best offensive player is running back Todd Gurley, who already has nearly 650 all-purpose yards and 9 touchdowns on the season in 120 total touches. While their offense doesn’t utilize the tight end much, those five players are much better than anything the Jets had to offer talent-wise last week and you saw what they did to the Broncos. Therefore, it’s hard to come up with any imaginable scenario where the Broncos will be able to keep them all in check, unless they have a defensive outing like they did against the Kansas City Chiefs, sans the disastrous fourth quarter.A quick glance at the Rams’ defenseA familiar face coaches the Rams’ defense and that’s former Broncos defensive coordinator Wade Phillips — the unsung hero and architect of the formidable defenses the Broncos fielded in 2015 and 2016. Humble as always, he seems to think he gets too much credit for that, but we all know if it wasn’t for him the franchise wouldn’t have gotten their third Lombardi Trophy. One of the best defensive minds in the history of game, Phillips has undoubtedly helped turn that side of the ball around with his play-calling helping them sport a top ten ranked defense (7th in points allowed, 9th in yards allowed), despite having no top-tier edge rushers and a secondary battling injuries. Their passing defense is ranked 9th in the league giving up 235 yards per contest, and their rushing defense comes in below-average at 19th overall, giving up over 106 yards a game and five yards per carry. If there is an weakness on their defense the Broncos could exploit — that would certainly be it.The two key players on the defense are Aaron Darnold and Ndamukong Suh, who are a handful for opposing offensive lines to handle on the interior of their defense. They have combined for 6 sacks this year and put a lot of heat on opposing quarterbacks, so it will be a big test for Ronald Leary, Matt Paradis and whoever the Broncos decide to start at right guard on Sunday. Even though he has had a down season after suffering a calf injury and being heavily-targeted with teammate Aqib Talib being sidelined Todd Davis Color Rush Jersey , the Broncos need to keep an eye out for Marcus Peters, who has the ability to make game-changing plays on defense. We all know how dangerous he can be, so it’s best not to sleep on the veteran despite poor performances in recent weeks. Two Keys to the GameActually utilize Royce Freeman and get Phillip Lindsay involved heavilyLike I said about the when the Broncos hosted the Chiefs, sometimes the best defense is a good offense that can control the clock and the pace of the game. Going up against an impressive Rams’ offense will be no easy task, so keeping Goff and Co. off of the field and sustaining long, time-consuming drives would be wise for Denver. If snow is in the forecast for Sunday, that’ll impact the passing game — but it will be a prime reason to actually give Royce Freeman and Phillip Lindsay ample opportunities to demonstrate their talent. As shown above, the Rams have been below-average against the run all year long and are giving up five yards per carry. It’s about time the Broncos’ coaches woke up and realized they need to run the ball more, especially in respect to Freeman. It’s the most effective part of their offense, so their willingness to abandon it and not establish it early on has been quite bothersome.Find a way to limit Goff’s success in the middle of the fieldGoff has been on fire when targeting receivers in the middle of the field this season, which is unfortunately the area the Broncos are most deficient at coverage-wise. With both Kupp and Cooks passing concussion protocol this week, they will be active for Sunday’s game and often find success against the heart of opposing defenses, especially on crossing routes. I’m not counting on Denver’s linebackers to excel in coverage in the middle of the field, so it will take some creative game-planning on behalf of Joe Woods to ensure the Broncos’ defense isn’t throttled in the open field. Oh, and the pass rush actually showing up this week would definitely help at getting Goff out of rhythm. Hart’s PredictionI’m usually an eternal optimistic, but the Broncos’ three-game losing streak has wiped away most of my positive outlook for the remainder of the season. Perhaps last week’s implosion against the Jets will be the wake-up call the coaches and players finally need, but I’m not going to hold my breath. The Rams are an incredibly good football team, in fact, they are the top contender to represent the NFC in this year’s Super Bowl. One team playing this Sunday has quality coaches and players that execute when it matters, one of them doesn’t. I will leave it to you to figure out which team is which — it’s certainly quite obvious. But I’m sure the Broncos had a good week of practice.Rams 30, Broncos 20.

The San Francisco 49ers travel to face the Arizona Cardinals this weekend

www.49ersauthorizedshops.com , and there is some drama in the desert. Rumors emerged this month that the Cardinals might deal Patrick Peterson, and on Monday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Peterson has asked to be traded. The NFL trade deadline is a week from Tuesday, which means two days after the 49ers and Cardinals square off in Glendale. If the Cardinals do deal Peterson, one has to wonder if they do it before Sunday to avoid an injury taking a deal off the table, or if they just wait and play this out into next week.I doubt we actually see Peterson dealt, but last year proved teams might decide to start getting a little crazy as the trade deadline approaches. While the MLB and NBA trade deadlines are regularly busy, the NFL trade deadline has generally been a slow one. Trades in generally happen primarily with draft picks in April, although last year, Jimmy Garoppolo was one of several notable players dealt before the deadline. And just to clear it up, no I don’t think the 49ers will be doing a deal with the Cardinals for Peterson. They might call, but I doubt Arizona would want to deal him within the division. Peterson is signed through 2020, and is still a strong coverage option. He would be an immediate upgrade for most teams, so we’ll see what the next eight days brings. Don't expect the NFL to institute a national anthem policy this season San Francisco 49ers Womens T-Shirt , if at all.NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell emphasized on Wednesday the work teams and players are doing in the community and didn't say whether the league and the NFLPA are moving closer toward any agreement on the contentious issue."The focus of the players' association, the NFL and all of our clubs and our players is to focus on the efforts our players have continually brought (forth) as their issues in their communities and how can we make our communities better," Goodell said after the fall meetings concluded."They're incredibly passionate about that. They have brought these issues greater awareness and they are working in their communities to try to make their communities better and they are working on the issues, on criminal justice reform. I've been on listen-and-learn tours with our players. Owners have been on listen-and-learn tours. Our players are obviously out there and you see a tremendous amount of work being done."Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones indicated a policy isn't forthcoming."I think right now we are going forward just as we entered the season," Jones said.He added: "One of the owners stood up and said: 'We have really gotten in a place that's positive and not that we weren't, but we benefited from this.' And, I agree, in relationships and sorting through where we want to go, and I'm so impressed with the social programs that the clubs and the players have engaged in."In May, the NFL passed a rule that forbids players from sitting or taking a knee if they are on the field or sidelines during "The Star-Spangled Banner," but allowed them to stay in the locker room if they wish. The league left it up to teams on how to punish players. The union challenged the rule in a grievance. The league halted the policy in July. The NFL and a coalition of players have been working in tandem to support player initiatives for a variety of social issues. Last month, coalition members including Malcolm Jenkins, Benjamin Watson, Demario Davis and Chris Long conducted work in the areas of bail reform and criminalization of poverty. Seattle's Doug Baldwin attended bail hearings and met with grass-roots organizations and the public defender's office regarding the need to end cash bail in King County on Sept. 25.Coalition members have focused on voting this month as well as voter restoration rights San Francisco 49ers Hats , plus their ongoing work on bail reform."The focus has been on listening, learning, understanding what the players want to accomplish in their community, the impact they want to have and supporting them," Goodell said. "Our clubs have done that at historic levels and we've gone over that the last couple of days. I'm proud of what our clubs are doing. I'm proud of what our players are doing. We're all working together to try to address those issues, and from my standpoint that always helps make relationships more productive when there's respect and understanding and agreement to work together to try to make things better."When you have people working together and listening to one another and that level of respect, I think everyone feels better and I think that's important, but the key thing is there's a lot of work to be done."In 2016, then-49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick began protesting police brutality, social injustice and racial inequality by kneeling during the national anthem, and the demonstration spread to other players and teams.Critics led by President Donald Trump called the players unpatriotic and Trump even said NFL owners should fire any player who refused to stand during the anthem. Many players countered that their actions were being misconstrued and that they are seeking social change rather than protesting the anthem itself.

Running back Le'Veon Bell hasn’t told the Steelers about whether he’s reporting during the bye week , but he did have his eye on the team Sunday.

Bell sent a tweet recognizing James Conner‘s strong play in the 28-21 win over the Bengals. Conner ran 19 times for 111 yards and two touchdowns Rocky Bleier Color Rush Jersey to continue a good run as the top running back in Pittsburgh. Thoughts about whether that run will continue led to a joke from quarterback Ben Roethlisberger after the game.“He was a bowling ball today,” Roethlisberger said, via PennLive.com. “He was all over the place. What a great game, but I know it’s his last game for us, so, because Le’Veon’s coming back. I thought he did well in his last one.”Roethlisberger said last week that Conner should retain a role in the offense if and when Bell returns to the fold and Sunday’s performance was another strong argument in favor of that approach. Ryan Switzer has been something of a revelation as a return man for the Pittsburgh Steelers since arriving via trade before the start of the season, but he had fans out of their seats for all the wrong reasons on Sunday afternoon with a catastrophic error midway through the third quarter. With Pittsburgh set up to receive a free kick after recording a safety Terry Bradshaw Jersey , confusion between Switzer and Roosevelt Nix led to a huge mistake that saw the Browns recover the ball at the Steelers 25-yard line.Seemingly believing the ball would be ruled dead if not returned by one of their teammates, both Nix and Switzer failed to make an attempt to dive on the live football when it had gone over the heads and the Browns pounced on it. While it would be incorrect to say Cleveland could have advanced the ball any further, they were still set up for a short drive that would end in a touchdown.Speaking to Chris Adamski of TribLive after the game, Switzer confirmed he really did not know the rules that governed free kicks and actually thought it would still be Pittsburgh’s ball, just as it appeared he did.If Switzer was open to acknowledging his mistake, Nix was far less willing to discuss it with reporters in light of another victory. Doubling down later on fans who dared to call him out for the play via Twitter.Against a more credible opponent, a mistake of this magnitude could have cost them the win and the Steelers can considered themselves lucky they were only playing the Browns. Clearly https://www.steelerssportshop.com/Ryan-Switzer-Jersey , many on the team needed a lesson about the rules surrounding free kicks and they all got one in the harshest way possible. If it prevents it from happening again, it will have been worth it.As understandable as it is to criticize the players for not knowing the rules, it would be fair to say that special teams coach Danny Smith deserve his share of blame for the play too. It is his job to have his players prepared for every eventually. A free kick after a safety is hardly unheard of, even if it is only the second one the Steelers have returned all season.

Nothing the Bengals did yesterday distracted the Saints.

Other than the pregame fire alarm Ken Crawley Jersey , of course. But Saints coach Sean Payton dispatched that as easily as his team did the league’s worst-ranked defense.According to Josh Katzenstein of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Payton acknowledged that he smashed the fire alarm in the visitor’s locker room at Paul Brown Stadium yesterday, and that he would pay for the damages.“Clearly, we were having issues with a fire alarm,” he said. “I just needed the noise to stop.”The alarm apparently went off for around 10 minutes, around 15 minutes before kickoff. The Bengals said yesterday they notified local authorities, and what he did is technically against the law. But the cops there are probably busy looking for head coach Marvin Lewis’ reputation for fielding competent defenses. A look at some key fantasy football questions going into Week 7:WHICH SAINTS WR WILL HAVE THE BIGGEST BOOST IN PRODUCTION WITH TED GINN ON INJURED RERSERVE?The Saints have been high on Tre’Quan Smith since the preseason. He had 16 receptions (three for 20 yards or more) this summer, and with Ginn sidelined in Week 5 he caught three passes for 111 yards and added two TDs. His two scores went for 62 and 35 yards, showing he’s a big play receiver. Although he was second on the team in routes run A.J. Klein Color Rush Jersey , in Week 5 he only received three targets.Cameron Meredith should play most of his snaps from the slot. He might receive more targets and catch more passes than Smith, but Smith has the bigger upside. Saints receivers have a tough matchup against a good Ravens defense this week, so don’t become alarmed if neither player puts up big numbers. Both receivers should see an uptick in production but Smith has better potential for the rest of the season.WHICH UNDER-THE-RADAR WR HAS THE BEST CHANCE FOR A BIG GAME IN WEEK 7?Bears WR Allen Robinson has been dealing with a groin injury this week. He may not play and if he does, he might be limited. Robinson’s injury could make Taylor Gabriel Chicago’s most targeted receiver this week. Gabriel hasn’t dropped a pass since Week 3 and has two straight games with 100 receiving yards or more. The Patriots defense has given up the third most TDs to wide receivers with nine this season. Gabriel leads Bears WRs with four targets within the 10-yard line, so should have a good opportunity to score a TD in Week7.Jets WR Jermaine Kearse could be in line for another double-digit target week vs. the Vikings. With Quincy Enunwa out, Kearse should play a significant portion of his snaps from the slot, a weakness for the Vikings defense.WHICH UNDER-THE-RADAR RB HAS THE BEST CHANCE FOR A BIG GAME THIS WEEK?Peyton Barber may eventually lose his starting job to rookie RB Ronald Jones but it’s not likely to happen right now. Barber’s coming off his best performance of the season, having rushed the ball 13 times for 82 yards (that’s 6.31 yards per carry). He also added four receptions for 24 yards and a TD. He has the potential to build upon that with a choice matchup against the Browns. They’ve given up 4.67 yards per carry and the second-most rushing TDs to the position this season.Kerryon Johnson could also have a larger role out of the Lions backfield this week if Theo Riddick is forced to miss time due to his knee injury. Johnson has averaged 5.98 yards per carry in his last four games and could be featured in the Lions passing game if Riddick is out.WHICH UNDER-THE-RADAR TE COULD BREAK OUT?Fantasy football players have been waiting a long time for Austin Hooper to emerge as a reliable fantasy TE. Well, it looks like it’s finally happening. Hooper has caught nine passes in each of the last two weeks and has over 70 receiving yards in each of the past two outings as well. With Mohamed Sanu and Calvin Ridley battling injuries and questionable to play on Monday night https://www.thesaintsfanshop.com/P.J.-Williams-Jersey , Hooper should see double-digit targets for a third straight game.CAN YOU RECOMMEND A GOOD BUY LOW TARGET AMONG WRS?Browns WR Jarvis Landry averaged just under seven catches per game through Week 3. He’s maintained an average of 11 targets per game, but since Week 3 his has just over four catches per game. Now he gets a very favorable schedule over the next four weeks, facing the Buccaneers, Steelers, Chiefs and Falcons. All four of those teams are top 6 in most yards per game yielded to slot receivers. If you own Landry, use him with confidence starting this week. If you don’t, his two catch for 11-yard Week 6 performance might allow you to trade for him at a discount.IF DALVIN COOK IS ACTIVE FOR WEEK 7 SHOULD HE BE IN STARTING LINEUPS?Cook’s status (hamstring) needs to be closely monitored as game time approaches but even if he’s active, if you have an alternate option, you should use it. Leading up to Week 6 Patrick Robinson Jersey , Cook’s practice status was as both a limited and full participant, he was also questionable, then likely to play and finally inactive. With the constant uncertainty surrounding his availability and the number of snaps he’ll play if active, try to minimize your risk and slip another RB into your lineup if possible.IS IT TOO LATE TO TRY TO TRADE STEELERS RB JAMES CONNER?No. It never hurts to put a player with Conner’s skill set on the trading block and allow offers to come your way. The potential impending arrival of Le’Veon Bell could drive down Conner’s fantasy trade appeal, but if and when Bell reports, he’s probably not going to be able to take on a full workload for a couple of weeks. If Bell reports and is activated for Week 8 he’d probably suit up, but it might take until Week 10 before he can possibly work as a bell cow back again. It could even still be a time share. Don’t be too surprised if Conner retains a significant role in the Steelers offense.Gauge his value if you have another feasible option at RB that you can slide into your weekly lineup. If you don’t, continue to use Conner until he’s no longer a surefire starter.

The New England Patriots took care of business against the Buffalo Bills and won 25-6.

It wasn’t the most exciting game Trent Brown Color Rush Jersey , but it counts as a win and the Patriots are creating some distance within the AFC East and in the AFC.Here’s what we learned. The Patriots didn’t have a running gameRunning backs James White and Kenjon Barner combined for 19 rushing yards and a touchdown on 10 carries (1.9 yards per carry). Wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson led the Patriots with 38 rushing yards on 10 carries, while Julian Edelman added 13 yards on 2 carries. Tom Brady added 8 yards on an early scamper. In total, the Patriots had 78 rushing yards and a touchdown on 23 carries. They really missed having Sony Michel on the field and the lack of a running game had a major impact on the viability of the play-action game and the efficiency of the offense in the red zone.New England was able to get away with it this week because the Bills are terrible. They’ll need a rushing attack next week against the Green Bay Packers.Tom Brady had a very low-impact gameBrady had an effective day in the office, completing 29 of 45 passes (64.4%) for 324 yards, with no touchdowns or interceptions. He had...four, maybe five passes that anyone would consider “difficult” but it was entirely unnecessary because the Patriots didn’t have to do anything difficult to win.Brady spent much of his day dumping the ball off to James White (10 catches for 79 yards) or throwing it to Julian Edelman in the middle of the field (9 catches for 104 yards). It would have been nice if Brady were able to make any magic in the red zone (1 for 4, a fumble, for a net of +1 yards), but the Bills defense did a great job against the Patriots skill players. It honestly just felt like the Patriots were trying to “get through” this game as healthy as possible, with the hopes that Rob Gronkowski will be healthier next week and Sony Michel will be able to return to the lineup. The Patriots defense showed up against a weak opponentFootball Outsiders always preaches that the best teams show up against the weakest teams and don’t play to the level of the competition- and the Patriots defense rose to the occasion and crushed the terrible Bills offense. The defensive stars played as they should.Trey Flowers was the best player on the field and racked up two tackles for loss and a third for no gain, two quarterback hits, a pass defended. Kyle Van Noy was also excellent in the place of the inactive Dont’a Hightower, leading the Patriots with 8 tackles, 2 sacks, a forced fumble, and a tackle for loss.Lawrence Guy, Danny Shelton, and Malcom Brown combined for 2 tackles on the day, but the Bills running backs gained a mere 47 yards on 18 carries, with LeSean McCoy getting a laughable 13 yards on 12 carries.Credit also to the Patriots secondary, with Stephon Gilmore having another great game, holding Kelvin Benjamin to 2 catches for 45 yards on 7 targets, with 40 of those yards coming on a jump ball that he defended as well as he could. Patrick Chung and Devin McCourty did a good job against Charles Clay Duron Harmon Jersey , holding the tight end to 3 catches for 36 yards on 6 targets. McCourty also returned an interception for a touchdown.Hopefully the Patriots defense can build off this and play better over the second half of the season.Special teams had an up-and-down dayThe Patriots didn’t have the best day on special teams, with Ryan Allen averaging an “as-unimpressive-as-it-sounds” 37.0 yards per punt average; the Bills four drives off of Allen punts started at an average of the 37-yard line. On the flip side, Julian Edelman was penalized for an unsportsmanlike penalty that pinned the Patriots on their own 5-yard line.Stephen Gostkowski had a strong day, hitting field goals from 25-, 40-, 38-, and 25-yards and missing one from 50-yards. He also connected on his extra point and did well on his kickoffs with four touchbacks and the Bills starting on an average of the 22-yard line on kicks they returned. The first half of the 2018 NFL Season is in the books. The (6-2) Patriots now have a 2.5-game lead in the AFC East, with the head-to-head tiebreaker over the (4-4) Miami Dolphins. The (3-5) New York Jets and (2-6) Buffalo Bills are pretty far in the rearview mirror as the Patriots are on pace to win their 15th division title in the past 16 years.Within the AFC, the Patriots trail the (7-1) Kansas City Chiefs, but hold the head-to-head tiebreaker if they wind up with matching records at the end of the year. The (5-2) Los Angeles Chargers have the third-best record in the AFC and are second in the AFC West. The (4-2-1) Pittsburgh Steelers somehow lead the AFC North ahead of the (5-3) Cincinnati Bengals and (4-4) Baltimore Ravens, which adds import to the Patriots-Steelers showdown in week 15; the winner has a strong chance of getting a first round bye.Meanwhile, the (5-3) Houston Texans have a strong lead in the AFC South ahead of the (3-4) Tennessee Titans and (3-5) Jacksonville Jaguars. The Patriots have the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Texans, again cementing New England in strong position in the conference. The Patriots are 6-2, which is par for the course under head coach Bill Belichick. Only four Patriots teams have started better (8-0 in 2007 and 2015; 7-1 in 2004 and 2016), with the 2003, 2006, 2009, 2010, 2013, 2014, and 2017 Patriots also all starting 6-2.The Belichick teams that didn’t were the 2000-02, 2005, 2008 Andre Tippett Jersey Black Friday , and 2011-12 Patriots. It’s good to note that the Patriots have made every single AFC Championship Game since that 2011 season and that means they’re right on track for the second half of the year. Welcome to your safe space. How’s it feel having the Patriots at 7-2, with a two-game lead in the sinking AFC East, and ranking not only number two in the Conference, but between two and three over all?New England has settled into a winning groove, knocking off the Chiefs and the Packers during their six-game win streak — but for some that 2-2 start is hard to shake off. For those who still have nightmares from Detroit or who had checked off the Chiefs and Packers as automatic losses when the schedule came out back in April, its okay to breathe just a tad easier now.I’m not buying into the analysts who “yawn” or “ho-hum” at how the Pats fought back up standings, but I am buying that Belichick won’t take his foot off the gas until the end, so it’s no jinx if fans relax and enjoy where the team is right now.Really... it’s not a bad place to be and the season is flying by already. What’s ahead? The second-half schedule is plenty meaningful: Four division games, six out of seven conference games, three home games (Minnesota, Buffalo, NY Jets) and four away (Tennessee, NY Jets, Miami and Pittsburgh), with a Week 11 Bye. Sunday at 1:00 the Pats face the ‘Patriots-South’ in Tennessee with many familiar faces, including oldies Mike Vrabel and Dean Pees plus recent former players, Dion Lewis, Malcolm Butler, Logan Ryan and Josh Kline. No doubt they’ll be pretty hyped for this game but the Patriots will be steady and ready.Pats win by 17.GO PATS!Around the AFC East:(7-2) New England Patriots at (4-4) Tennessee Titans(5-4) Miami Dolphins at (3-4-1) Green Bay Packers(3-6) New York Jets vs. (2-7) Buffalo BillsAFC Matchups:(8-1) Kansas City Chiefs vs. (2-6) Arizona Cardinals (5-2) Pittsburgh Steelers vs. (6-2) Carolina Panthers (6-2) Los Angeles Chargers at (1-7) Oakland Raiders(5-3) Cincinnati Bengals vs. (7-1) New Orleans Saints(3-5) Jacksonville Jaguars at (3-5) Indianapolis Colts(2-6) Cleveland Browns vs. (4-4) Atlanta FalconsBye Weeks: (3-6) Denver Broncos, (4-5) Baltimore Ravens, (6-3) Houston Texans****************************************************2nd - Pete Prisco (CBS Sports): Ho-hum, it’s November and the Patriots are getting better. Haven’t we seen this script before?.2nd - Elliot Harrison (NFL.com): Before you pick at this ranking, realize that the Patriots won -- by multiple scores https://www.patriotsfanstore.com/Irving-Fryar-Jersey , no less -- without Rob Gronkowski, Sony Michel and Shaq Mason. Tom Brady picked at the Pack’s defense most of the night, being quite familiar with the scheme’s czar, Mike Pettine. Then Brady hit the Joshpot with that odd-looking intermediate throw to Mr. Gordon -- a ball that Julian Edelman initially elevated for ... before bringing his hands down in a move that made him look like a red, white and blue PEZ dispenser. Michel’s absence meant more was required of James White, who was obviously gassed after that trick-play beaut of a screen. What a well-planned, well-timed, well-better-than-anything-the-Packers-showed play call from New England. Edelman delivered calmly and coolly. Again.2nd - Vinnie Iyer (Sporting News): The Patriots made the Tom Brady-Aaron Rodgers showdown more about their running game and defense, and that’s exactly why they remain the best team in the AFC.2nd - Mark Maske (Washington Post): Tom Brady actually seemed confused at times Sunday night by the looks given to him by the Green Bay defense, but he figured out a way to win. Isn’t that how it always goes with Brady and the Patriots? This is resembling another one of those seasons in which a 1-2 start for New England gives way to a Super Bowl appearance.2nd - MMQB Staff (SI): Remember when the Patriots were outside of our Top 10? One of these years we’ll learn not to write them off after a slow start. The Patriots not only jumped the Rams this week, but also the Chiefs.2nd - Expert Consensus (Bleacher Report): There are three constants in life—death, taxes and the New England Patriots hitting the halfway point in the season with a stranglehold on the AFC East.2nd - Joshua Schrock (NESN): The Patriots continue to get better and better with each week. New England’s defense stole the show in Week 9, holding Aaron Rodgers and the Packers to 17 points in a 31-17 win at Gillette Stadium. Tom Brady and Co. now have won six games in a row and have done so with key members of the offense missing a number of games. There’s no telling how good the Pats will be come January.2nd - Staff (AP Pro32).3rd - Rebecca Toback (SB Nation): The Patriots and Chiefs both moved down one spot, but more because of the Saints’ recent dominance than anything else. Those three teams along with the Rams are clearly separating from the pack and the 6-2 Chargers aren’t far behind...3rd - Nate Davis (USA Today): Bill Belichick has to be wondering if former prot茅g茅 Matt Patricia will provide any potential cheat codes to fellow rookie HC Mike Vrabel this week.3rd - Mike Florio (ProFootballTalk): They may not lose again, playoffs included.4th - Frank Schwab (Yahoo! Sports): Josh Gordon had 130 yards and it looks like he’s going to be a dominant force down the stretch. Who could have ever guessed that the Patriots paying nothing for a player of Gordon’s talent in a trade could end up being a good deal? Never saw that coming.4th - Experts (ESPN): A 1-2 start wasn’t entirely unexpected, in part because Julian Edelman was serving a four-game NFL suspension and the Patriots have had some early-season struggles in past years, but that is the main reason the club has had a two-spot dip from preseason expectations. But credit also goes to the Rams and Chiefs, two teams who have far exceeded projections, even though the Patriots dealt the Chiefs their lone loss of the season.4th - Joe Giglio (NJ.com): How impressive is New England’s success? Sunday’s win over the Packers barely registered here on these rankings. It was expected. Another 12-or-13-win season a bye week is on the way.4th - Bryan Fischer (Athlon Sports): Even without Gronk, that was quite an impressive effort against the Packers on both sides of the ball. That slow start seems like it’s a thing of the past as the AFC favorites have another clear path to the Super Bowl.4th - Russell S. Baxter (Fansided): The Pats own a two-game lead in the AFC East and the only other team above .500 are the erratic Miami Dolphins. Belichick’s club has now won six consecutive games after that 1-2 start and appears on course to capture a 10th straight division title. There’s still a lot of football ahead but this team has found its stride.Week 10 Average Rank: 2.8 (+0.3)

Golden Nuggets: Onto Week 2 Got some links

to give you after this awful week Womens Mike Person Jersey , made exponentially worse thanks to the Raiders realizing they were the Raiders and letting the Rams win. But first, I just want to touch on the point I made last night. In 2015, the 49ers faced the Minnesota Vikings to open the season. It was Jim Tomsula’s first game and the 49ers were somewhat of a question mark. What followed was some of the worst football I’ve ever witnessed, but the 49ers came out somewhat dominant in the end. Sure, they had issues, but it seemed like they could be a fun team to watch once they stopped looking sloppy. The 49ers ended up going 5-11 and there was nothing fun about that season. Nothing. The Vikings, meanwhile managed to win the NFC North, achieve a playoff birth, and would have won their playoff game if not for Blair Walsh missing a last second 27-yard field goal (that ‘ole Seahawk luck came in at the right time). Here’s the point: Both teams went in completely different directions. Now, the 2018 Vikings are not the 2015 Vikings and I tend to think the 49ers would have gotten punked pretty hard had that 2015 team played the 2018 Vikings. Despite the loss, the Vikings’ season didn’t end—and if the 49ers could beat them that night, you wouldn’t be wrong to think the Vikings weren’t winning anything that year. The 49ers get the Lions, and this is a much better way to gauge how the team will play. The Vikings was good experience. Hopefully they can mimic the 2015 team and get themselves a playoff birth. Onto the links. Five Things We’ll Overreact To From the NFL’s Opening Weekend (MMQB)49ers report card: Offensive errors trigger Week 1 loss at Vikings (Inman)Kyle Shanahan gives injury updates on Goodwin http://www.sanfrancisco49ersteamonline.com/arik-armstead-jersey , Garnett, and others (KNBR)Upon further review: Three takeaways from the 49ers’ Week 1 loss to the Vikings (Biderman)49ers enter Week 2 with questions at right guard (Maiocco)49ers hurting at right guard after loss to Vikings (Cohn)Erik Walden, Hau’oli Kikaha working out for 49ers (Pro Football Talk)Why Kyle Shanahan is impressed with Jimmy Garoppolo’s response to the 49ers’ loss (Biderman)Warner Gets Solid Reviews for His 49ers Debut (Williams)49ers notes: Mike McGlinchey accepts challenge in middle of debut (Maiocco)What a horrible night to have a curse... The NFL is officially through the halfway point, with every team having played at least eight games on their schedule. As such, we are seeing midseason awards and assessments. This week, SI columnist Albert Breer put together his midseason awards. However, instead of simply making his picks, he reached out to various league personnel to get their thoughts on MVP, Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Offensive Rookie of the Year, Defensive Rookie of the Year, and Coach of the Year. He assembled a panel of 18 voters Authentic Pierre Garcon Jersey , and they offered up a single vote for each category (so effectively, every vote was a first place vote). The San Francisco 49ers ended up with some representation in the rookie categories. New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley received the most votes (12) for offensive rookie of the year, and 49ers right tackle Mike McGlinchey received one vote. Indianapolis Colts linebacker Darius Leonard received the most votes (8) for defensive rookie of the year, and 49ers linebacker Fred Warner received one vote.McGlinchey has been a consistent force in run blocking, and has steadily improved as a pass blocker. You really could not ask for a much better rookie season from a top ten pick. He is all but assured of making the all-rookie team, and while linemen don’t win rookie of the year awards, he’s proving as good as most of the rookie class. It’s interesting to note that McGlinchey is second only to Baker Mayfield in Pro Football Focus’ latest rookie rankings. Mayfield has slipped these past few weeks, and currently ranks only one spot ahead of McGlinchey in their weekly rankings. That being said, barring a huge finish by Baker Mayfield or one of the other quarterbacks, Barkley would seem to be the favorite. Phillip Lindsey has 72 more rushing yards (and a better ypc), but Barkley actually leads all rookies in receiving yards (ALL rookies, not just running backs). If Barkley keeps it up, he’s taking home the award.Fred Warner has quietly chugged along as the 49ers Mike linebacker. He is fifth in the league in tackles http://www.sanfrancisco49ersteamonline.com/dante-pettis-jersey , and PFF ranks him eighth among all linebackers in run stop percentage. It’s not shocking however that Leonard tops the polling. He leads the NFL in tackles, and is second among rookies with four sacks. Basic counting stats don’t tell the whole picture, but this will likely stand out for media voters.PFF has Detroit Lions defensive tackle Da’Shawn Hand at the top of their rankings, followed by Cincinnati Bengals safety Jessie Bates, Los Angeles Chargers safety Derwin James, and then Leonard. Warner gets no mention, as his grade is in the middle of the pack for linebackers. If Leonard maintains his pace, he will take home defensive rookie of the year. Warner won’t take home the award, but he stands a good chance of earning an all-rookie award as well.
