Today’s matchup against the Denver Broncos and Cincinnati Bengals showcased two 5-6 teams on the outside looking in with respect to the AFC playoffs race. The victor of today’s game would take a big step forward in their postseason pursuit https://www.broncosfanstore.com/Derek-Wolfe-Jersey , with the loser likely falling out of the race all together. It was good news for Broncos Country, as Denver defeated Cincinnati by a score of 24-10. Here are five things we learned from today’s big victory.1. Broncos keep pace in pursuit of AFC wildcard playoff berthThe Broncos did their part with a win over the Bengals, but they got some help elsewhere in several other games. The good news is that the Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the Indianapolis Colts and the Houston Texans notched a huge win over the Cleveland Browns. The bad news is that the Baltimore Ravens beat the Atlanta Falcons and the Miami Dolphins were able to hold off the Buffalo Bills.Next week the Broncos head on the road to play the San Francisco 49ers. The Ravens will face off against the Kansas City Chiefs next weekend. Meanwhile, the Colts will take on the Texans which will both have huge playoff implications. Hoping for a Broncos’ win against the 49ers is a must, but you will want to be cheering for the Chiefs and Texans to take care of business against the Ravens and Colts. You will also want to cross you fingers and hope the New England Patriots can take care of business against the Dolphins as well.Even with all that mentioned, it’s likely that the wildcard spot is going to come down to the last game of the season before it is finalized. Denver just needs to take care of business and win out. If they do, the odds are great that they will make the dance.2. Broncos continue their streak of takeawaysEarlier this week, I discussed the major reason the Broncos had won two huge games over the Los Angeles Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers — takeaways. The Broncos continued that recipe for success against the Bengals with three key takeaways in the second half. Backup safety Dymonte Thomas secured a fumble on an Alex Erickson muffed punt and Justin Simmons was able to intercept an errant Jeff Driskel throw in the third quarter. Not only that, Bradley Chubb was able to get a strip-sack of Driskel in the final moments of the fourth quarter to put the final nail in the coffin. All of those turnovers resulted in points on the board for Denver and changed the overall tide of the game. While the team might be giving up some big yards in recent weeks, the fact that they can take the ball over and score points off those takeaways has been paramount. You have to love that!3. Broncos’ offense ignites in the second halfI was extremely optimistic that the Broncos’ offense would be able to make some big plays against a Bengals’ defense that ranked worst in the National Football League in almost every category. After two quarters of play that didn’t seem likely to transpire considering how out of sync the offense was. That being said some things just take time and thankfully the Broncos’ offensive fortunes changed in the second half. After an inconsistent first half, Case Keenum was able to connect with Courtland Sutton on a beautiful 30-yard touchdown pass that gave Denver an eleven point lead. It was nice to see Sutton make a handful of clutch plays after his worst game of the season last weekend. He finished the game with four receptions for 87 yards and a touchdown. On their next offensive possession, rookie phenom Phillip Lindsay sped by and torched the Bengals’ defense on a 65-yard touchdown run that left everyone inhaling dust off his cleats. Those two plays were absolute game-changers and gave the Broncos the momentum necessary to achieve victory. Lindsay embarked on another impressive game totaling 157 yards on 19 carries with two touchdowns. He became the eighth rookie in team history to amass 1,000 all-purpose yards. 4. The Broncos dialed up the heat on Jeff DriskelWith the Bengals’ offensive line being decimated by injuries throughout the season Todd Davis Color Rush Jersey , today’s game provided an opportunity for the Broncos’ arsenal of pass rushers to get after the inexperienced Jeff Driskel. After a game-clinching interception last weekend, Shelby Harris continued to prove how valuable he is for the franchise and had a great game against the Bengals notching 1.5 sacks. The same goes for Von Miller who was able to down Driskel just as much as Harris and earned himself 1.5 sacks as well. Chubb’s aforementioned strip-sack in the fourth quarter was also crucial in this regard. Let’s hope the Broncos’ defense can keep the heat turned up high the last four games of the season.5. Broncos’ defense loses Chris Harris Jr. and Derek Wolfe to injuryDuring the first quarter on a key third down play going up against A.J. Green one of the worst things imaginable could have happened when Chris Harris Jr. left the game with a lower right leg injury. He was assisted by trainers and wasn’t able to put any weight on his right leg, subsequently carted off the field and did not return to the game. According to Mike Klis, the Broncos have confirmed that Harris Jr. suffered a fractured fibula.Additionally, starting inside linebacker Josey Jewell left the game early on with an ankle injury and was replaced by Joe Jones. Things got worse for the Broncos when Derek Wolfe suffered a rib injury halfway through the second quarter and did not return for the second half. In the midst of a wildcard playoff berth pursuit, the last thing the Broncos needed was a handful of key players on defense going down with injuries. We will continue to update Broncos Country on the status of these players as more information develops. So Broncos Country, what were your five big observations from today’s game? After disappointing seasons following the 2015 Super Bowl, Denver enters 2019 without the drama of year’s past, improved personnel, and a new coaching staff with a refreshing get-to-work mentality that emphasizes accountability.Don’t look now (and not to jinx Denver or anything), but it would appear that the Broncos have made it through the offseason without any of the boneheaded slip-ups that downtime traditionally brings. Nobody tripped over a dog in Terrell Davis’ driveway, nobody got stabbed by their girlfriend Brendan Langley Jersey , nobody slipped on a fast food wrapper, putting their hand through an entertainment center, no flying beer mugs at strip club bartenders, and, at least that we know, no arrests. Kareem Jackson, Bryce Callahan, and Joe Flacco headline the Broncos 2019 free agent class. Combined with draftees Noah Fant, Dalton Risner, and Dre’Mont Jones, Denver added folks that it hopes can contribute immediately. Beyond 2019? The building blocks of the future lie within the draft acquisition of quarterback Drew Lock. Could the end of musical chairs at the quarterback position be at an end? Watching these new Broncos is going to be a ton of fun.Of all the improvements made during the 2019 offseason, none will have a more substantial impact than the hiring of Vic Fangio and his staff. Gone is the empty rhetoric of “great practices” replaced with emphasis on details to avoid “death by inches”. Throughout OTAs and mini-camps, accountability https://www.broncosfanstore.com/Justin-Simmons-Jersey , effort, and focus have emerged as defining principles that will guide Fangio’s Broncos this season. While most talk surrounding past Broncos teams in July is usually optimistic, it needs to be said that the buzz this season feels a little different.Fangio’s no-nonsense approach to football is one that I wouldn’t want to mess with and I’m sure that the players feel that even more so. In just over two weeks, the Broncos will walk out onto pristine practice fields and begin training camp. The failures of previous seasons will melt away under the promise of the beating July heat. What does 2019 hold for the Denver Broncos? Half the fun of football is finding out. The other half? "Now that the 2019 NFL draft is over NFL front offices will be hard at work calling the players with some talent who were not selected in the NFL draft. In some cases it is a blessing not to be picked. His 32 1/2” Vertical would have been 7th best among the linemen and his 118” Broad jump would have tied for #1 in the linemen’s group. The bad about Farmer:He is a phone booth player with not a lot of lateral agility or short area quickness. He is a dancing bear who doesn’t dance real well plus he has very short arms (like Godzilla) 31 1/2” which is a bad thing for an offensive lineman.Koran Crump6’ 3”215 lbs WLBArizona State#4Crump would be an excellent under the radar guy because he is healthy now after a knee injury. After leading the Sun Devils in sacks three years ago, Krump suffered a torn ACL in the third game of the 2017 season and never fully recovered. In 2018 Crump only played four games White Jordan Jenkins Jersey , mostly on special teams, before shutting things down to focus on the draft.Crump ran a sub 4.5-second 40-yard dash at his pro day, though he was perhaps a bit lighter than desired at 215 pounds.“I feel great,” Crump said. “During the season, I was still limping. I still felt a little pain. Right now, it’s healthy.”Crump was much improved at his pro day, “I wasn’t happy with the way I was playing. I wasn’t happy with myself. For me to feel this good, perform the way I did today was great.”Crump is a baller who will need to regain some weight, but he was a destructive force before his knee injury. He had 13 sacks and 15 TFL in the 14 games he played before the injury. If he is back to full health, and a sub 4.5/40 would attest to that, he is a must sign for a team with pass rush woes like the Jets.He can do other things too, he had 50 other tackles in those 14 games so it was not like he just came off the edge every play.Jordan Kunaszyk6’ 3”235 lbsILBCal#59Kunaszyk joined an undermanned University of California team in 2016 as a part time player and began to show the tenacity and grit it takes to play as an inside linebacker. He had 51 tackles in 2016, the most ever by a University of California player with fewer than 5 starts. In a game against the University of Oregon that went to double overtime, Kunaszyk made a game sealing interception to give the California Bears a 52-49 victory. An injury in 2017 limited him to eight games but he still averaged more than 11 tackles a game. Kunaszyk became the first defensive player in University of California history to win the Walter Camp defensive player of the week honors. He was also the PAC-12 defensive player of the week in the 37-3 dismantling of previously unbeaten #8 University of Washington State, a team that came in averaging 39.7 points a game. Kunaszyk had 11 tackles, three sacks, three tackles for loss Jordan Jenkins Jersey 2019 , one forced fumble and one interception in the game. This kid has the type of tenacity and character the Jets need on their team. He has technical skills and a deep love for the game. He might be overlooked in the draft because he isn’t a splashy player who self promotes and he comes from a western school that is not one of the elite college programs. He is a team first, unselfish player who will know his defensive scheme inside and out in a short period of time. He could serve as a backup inside linebacker as he develops his first year or two while being a demon on special teams, but he will always be ready to step into the fray at a moment’s notice.Koa Farmer6’ 1”230 lbs WLBPenn State#7Farmer was a big piece of the Nittany Lions’ linebacker corps this season, registering 52 tackles in 12 appearances. He began his collegiate career as a safety and kick returner before making the transition to linebacker ahead of the 2017 season. He has only two years at LB and is still in a development stage of his career. He played three years at Penn State on defense with 128 tackles 13 TFL and 4 sacks. He really showed his athletic ability at his pro day with a4.48/4025 reps on the bencha 37” vert and a 124” broad jump. He would be a demon on special teams as he develops his skills as a weak side LB . DeAndre Thompkins 5’ 11” 188 lbs WRPenn State#3Thompkins played 45 games at Penn State with 83 receptionsfor 1,245 yards and 6 TDs. He was a workhorse on the punt team returning 66 punts for 675 yards and 2 TDs.He has 4.33/40 speed and brings a return specialist and deep threat receiver skill set.As he develops he can be a WR who takes the top off a defense. He could sprinkle in the occasional big play and be the punt returner the team lacks. If he fails to make the team he can be a valuable asset on the practice squad who could be used in case of injury. Jon Hillman6’ 0”200 lbsRBRutgers/Boston College#23Hillman played 3 years at Boston College before transferring to Rutgers as a graduate studentHe has 485 carries in his career for over 1,700 yards and 19 TDs.He also has 40 receptions for 282 yards and 2 TDs.He is a dependable back who is a team leader and rarely fumbles. He is an excellent athlete with 4.44/40 speed and did 20 bench reps at his pro day.He could be a valuable resource as a practice squad member. Once he learns our playbook he would be dependable inexpensive depth in case of injury. Brian Wallace6’ 5”326 lbsOT/OGArkansas#60Wallace is an under developed right tackle prospect who may be better if he slides inside to play guard. He has great size with impressive length (35 1/2” arms) and 10 1/2” hands. Here he is pass blocking on the play, he is #60.We could bring him into our camp and maybe after a year on the practice squad he could pan out into a decent rotational lineman with tackle/guard versatility. If not we could cut him loose and do the same thing with another line prospect. He has the size needed but lacks some strength and technical skill. FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — Sam Darnold recently made a mistake that drew the ire of Adam Gase. It was the first time the New York Jets coach raised his voice at his young quarterback.Darnold didn’t flinch. At all.“He was like, ‘It’s about time you started getting on me a little bit,'” Gase recalled with a smile.Darnold turned 22 years old Wednesday — a baby by NFL standards — but Gase doesn’t feel any need to treat him with kid gloves.“You can say whatever you want to him,” Gase said with a smile. “He’s great about that. I think he likes it better when you’re a little aggressive with him.”Add that to the ever-growing list of things Gase already appreciates about Darnold as the QB guru and the franchise QB develop a working relationship they both hope will grow stronger for many years.Darnold is still learning the nuances of Gase’s playbook after being in Jeremy Bates’ system last year. Gase uses a walkie-talkie to call plays into Darnold’s headset during practice, trying to help the quarterback get used to his voice and feel comfortable with it long before the season starts. The two also constantly speak in person and away from the practice field, breaking down plays and finding out what works best for them. Not that Darnold has asked Gase to adjust any elements of the playbook just yet.“No, nothing drastic like that,” Darnold said. “I think, for us, it’s more conversations like White Leonard Williams Jerseys , ‘Oh, that felt a little awkward,’ or, ‘I don’t know how I feel about that.’ I’m never going up to him like, ‘Hey, that’s not part of the offense. We can’t do that.’ I’m not there yet. But, it’s definitely conversations that we have where it’s like, ‘OK, maybe I don’t do that so well.’“But again, there’s room to grow. There’s always room to grow for me. I feel like I have so much room where I can get better.”That was reiterated to Darnold during the first minicamp practice Tuesday when he was intercepted twice during team drills. New defensive coordinator Gregg Williams was typically aggressive with his squad, frustrating Darnold at times. That, Gase insisted, will only help Darnold and the rest of the offense.“It’s a good process for us,” Gase said. “It’s tough going against Gregg’s defense where you get multiple looks. We threw in some new stuff on the offense and there’s some growing pains there. But that’s part of the process, it’s good stuff for us to have to go through.”Gase is excited about having a quarterback at this stage of his career with Darnold’s physical abilities and mental capacity. The coach, who has worked with the likes of Peyton Manning, Jay Cutler and Ryan Tannehill Leonard Williams Jerseys 2019 , has raved about Darnold’s maturity and businesslike approach on the field and in the classroom.A year ago, Darnold was a rookie simply trying to figure out life in the NFL. Darnold’s teammates have noticed a difference in the quarterback this spring.“Confidence, honestly,” left tackle Kelvin Beachum said. “It’s been great to just see him being able to command the huddle and understanding the urgency that goes along with each particular drill. … I’m excited to see what he has once the (season) gets going.”Darnold agreed that he is feeling more comfortable and confident — despite the fact he’ll be running his third different offense in as many years, dating to his final season at USC.That doesn’t faze him, though. Not in the way it might for many young quarterbacks.“I think I’m all right at kind of being able to separate things,” he said. “So, whether it was at USC or last year, I’m very good at just kind of putting stuff behind me and just moving on to the next offense. I feel like I’m the same way on the field – if a bad play happens, I’m able to move on to the next play.“I think there’s definitely a process there, though, where you’ve got to erase some stuff out of your memory bank.”Darnold’s final numbers in his first season were far from eye-popping: 2,865 yards, 17 touchdowns, 15 interceptions and a 57.7 completion percentage in 13 games. It was what he did in the final four contests, though, that had everyone feeling good about the No. 3 overall pick heading into his sophomore year in the NFL.Darnold came back from a foot injury that sidelined him for three games and closed the season by going 80 of 125 — 64.0 completion percentage — for 931 yards with six touchdowns and only one interception.Even more impressive than the stats was how Darnold showed an ability to make plays when it appeared there were no plays to be had.The Jets have four more sessions of organized activities next week before they break until training camp in late July. Darnold plans to spend some of his vacation time on the field with some of the guys he’ll be working with when the season begins.“Yeah White Kelechi Osemele Jerseys , I think it’d be good to get some teammates wherever we can meet up, whether I’m on the East Coast, whether they come out to the West Coast,” Darnold said. “But yeah, definitely after OTAs I’m going to be going back home for a little bit —spend time with family and friends. But definitely looking to meet up with some of my teammates, especially receivers, running backs, skill guys, to be able to get that rapport with them in terms of route running and timing.“So, I’m sure one weekend or during the weeks at some point, we’ll get some time together.”

wide receiver Josh Gordon on Wednesday served as a reminder that Gordon’s rights remain with New England and that there have been reports indicating he could return to the team this season. There’s been no word of any reinstatement application at this point and the league had little to say on the matter Wednesday.Gordon was suspended indefinitely last December and Jeff Howe of TheAthletic.com asked an NFL spokesperson if there was a timeline for a review of that suspension. Howe reports that the response was that the league has no update to provide regarding Gordon’s status. In March White Sony Michel Jerseys , NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said that the immediate focus for all parties was to make sure Gordon is doing “what he needs to do to get his life on the right track.” He said that once the feeling was that Gordon had found that track, the league will “get to that place” of determining a return to action.Week 2 Patriots vs Jaguars: Who gets the game ball from New England’s 31-20 loss? The New England Patriots suffered their first defeat of the 2018 season earlier today: New England went on the road and was beaten 31-20 by the Jacksonville Jaguars. It was a lackluster performance by the reigning AFC champions in all three phases of the game – but one that still had at least some silver linings. Let’s take a look at three of them.QB Tom BradyDespite being under constant pressure especially early during the contest Sony Michel Jerseys 2019 , Brady was still able to deliver a solid performance. He was not perfect by any means, but the future Hall of Famer again was the reason why the Patriots were in the game up until almost the very end. Along the way Byron Cowart Jersey Boys , the 41-year old completed 24 of his 35 pass attempts for 234 yards and a pair of touchdowns – while also converting a third down at one point on a 10-yard scramble.RB Sony MichelThe numbers – 10 rushes for 34 yards and one catch for seven more – tell only half the story when it comes to Sony Michel’s NFL debut. Going against one of the league’s top defensive fronts, the 31st overall selection of this year’s draft displayed some of the traits that made him a first-round pick: he was powerful as a runner White Duke Dawson Jerseys , and used all over the formation. Certainly an encouraging first step from the Patriots’ future number one running back.RB James WhiteWhile Michel’s performance was encouraging, James White’s was actually productive: the Patriots’ primary receiving back was the team’s most potent offensive playmaker today and finished with seven receptions for 73 yards and three carries for 11 yards. Serving as Tom Brady’s safety blanket and primary target in the passing game Duke Dawson Jerseys 2019 , White helped keep the passing game on track even when others failed to step up.With all that in mind, who is your choice for this week’s game ball?

Are you drinking the kool-aid yet?" Detroit Lions PollsNFL Open ThreadsSunday open thread: What’s your confidence level heading into training camp?New Womens Christian Jones Jersey ,53commentsAre you drinking the kool-aid yet?EDTWe have under a week to go now before the Detroit Lions start their first training camp practice in Allen Park. Last year was a mixed bag during Matt Patricia’s first year as a head coach. There were some serious ups and downs, but ultimately, we saw the defense improve greatly throughout the season. The offense was very problematic, but now Patricia has brought in his guy to take over as offensive coordinator, and there are no more excuses for why this team shouldn’t be in the thick of a playoff race. The hope and optimism is starting to set in as Patricia enters his second season as head coach, and the roster is coming together nicely with playmakers on both sides of the ball. Training camp starts on Thursday Calvin Johnson Jersey White , July 25th and is open to the public. What is your confidence level in the Detroit Lions heading into training camp?My answer: I’m pretty optimistic when it comes to this team right now, and I’d put myself at about a 4 out of a 5. I don’t think that this team is quite there yet in terms of contending for a Super Bowl, but I don’t see why this team shouldn’t be able to squeak out a 9-7 or 10-6 record and make the playoffs, possibly contending for a division title. It’s certainly going to be tough to win the division this year as I believe the NFC North is one of the most packed divisions in the NFL currently. I also feel that the Lions may have had the best offseason compared to the rest of the division, and there is no better time than now to take control of the North.I’m still very worried about our offense and believe that there will be some growing pains early and often, but the defense should be a top-10 or better unit in the NFL and I’m hopeful that a healthy Stafford will show up and prove a lot of people wrong.Tweets from https://twitter.com/PrideOfDetroit/lists/lions-coverage At this point in the NFL season Kerryon Johnson Jersey White , it’s still really hard to make sense of the league. Teams are still playing wildly inconsistent week-to-week and only a few have truly emerged as contenders or pretenders. This isn’t all that abnormal. Just ask Patriots coach Bill Belichick, who claims you don’t really even know your own team until halfway through the season. “Midseason to me is always about the time where I think you kind of know what you have,” Belichick said back in 2017. “September, I think we’re all trying to figure out a little bit. You go into the season thinking one thing and then after you play three or four games, a lot of time you’re not as good at some things as you thought you were or maybe you’re better at some other things than you might have thought you were. Maybe some guys are performing higher, some guys lower Womens Luke Willson Jersey , whatever. It takes a little while to find that equilibrium.”The Lions certainly qualify for that identity crisis. Through five games, they’ve beaten Belichick’s Patriots and their division rival Packers, but also dropped games to the Jets, 49ers and Cowboys. They’re a game out of first place in the division but also all alone in last place. So this week, we asked fans to try and assess the team at their bye week—a tough task for even the people within the organization. Will this 2-3 Lions team make the postseason? You all answered with the proper indecision:It’s very easy to see both sides of the equation here. On the pro-playoffs side, you have the fact that the Lions have already beaten two very competitive teams. They are also playing in a division that has three other flawed teams. Each NFC North team has at least one bad loss on their resume and clear weakness on their roster. At this point Trey Flowers Jersey , it truly feels like anyone’s division. On the other hand, the Lions’ defense is currently playing like one of the worst in the league, and just about every stat will corroborate that. They’re ranked 30th in DVOA, and they’ve also dropped a couple games they had no business losing if they’re going to truly be a contender. So who are these Lions and will they make the postseason this year? As Belichick noted, we probably won’t know for a couple of week, but expect some clarity soon Levine Toilolo Jersey White , because trouble is coming:Want to be a part of these weekly surveys? Universal Studios Japan released a teaser trailer showing off what their new themed runescape gold area, Super Nintendo World, could look like. The trailer has Super Mario running around the park with human guests before giving us a zoom out of the area. Whether or not this will turn out to be the layout of the park has yet to be decided. Nintendo later confirmed in March of 2016 that a Nintendo themed area was coming to Universal Studios Japan and that it would be in the same scale as the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Orlando with restaurants and shops as well as rides. But it wasn until December of 2016 that they announced one of them would be called Super Nintendo Land.

This is why the Cardinals will wait, and why a trade isn’t likely to happen until the draft actually gets here. Maybe Arizona has an offer of a second-round pick already. Maybe that’s even from the Giants. We don’t know. I have had people tell me if it was their choice they wouldn’t trade Rosen until and unless someone put a first-round pick on the table. I have had others tell me Arizona won’t get more than a third-round pick. The Cardinals will just wait and see who gets antsy and feels like they need the player — if Rosen is available at all.April 2Valentine’s View: Far be it for me to disagree with Chris Mortenson, but my Washington source has indicated that to this point the Redskins have not been in on Rosen. If they were to pursue him, though, it would make sense. Case Keenum is only a stop-gap solution.April 1Vacchiano: Rosen No. 1 option to replace ManningValentine’s View: I keep saying it Julian Love NFL Draft , but if the 37th overall pick and perhaps one or two of the Giants’ late-round picks is the price tag, that’s the best-case scenario for the Giants. They get a first-round caliber quarterback many think is better than anyone in this draft class, and get to keep their two first-round picks.Monday Morning QuarterbackValentine’s View: Obviously, the perspective here has been that the Giants should be added to that list.Peter King on whether the Cardinals will actually draft Kyler Murray:The Ringer: The Team That Makes Sense but Won’t Do It: The New York GiantsMarch 26Is Josh Rosen better than any quarterback in the 2019 NFL Draft class? | Big Blue ViewI put the question to a trio of highly-regarded draft analysts, and the unanimous opinion was that Rosen would be the No. 1 ranked quarterback in this class. Yes, above Murray — the guy who seems likely to usurp him in Arizona — and Dwayne Haskins. Our own Mark Schofield told me he would “have him [Rosen] just over Murray and then Haskins.”Scott Wright of Draft Countdown told me that Rose “would be No. 1 in this class.” For some perspective, Wright had Rosen No. 2 in last year’s class behind only Sam Darnold.Dane Brugler of The Athletic would have Rosen “at the top based only on tape.” [Brugler’s complete QB rankings — subscription only][Full Story]Giants discussing Josh Rosen as ‘rumors’ swirl around Cardinals’ plans | SNY The New York Giants will reportedly activate wide receiver Cody Latimer from injured reserve next week Julian Love Buffalo Bills Jersey , putting him on the 53-man roster for the final two games of the regular season. Signed as a free agent in the offseason, Latimer played in four games for the Giants earlier this season, catching six passes for 108 yards and averaging 22.3 yards on four kickoff returns. He was placed on IR with a hamstring injury.Latimer told me when the Giants designated him to return at the end of the November that his hamstring injury had been a “bad one” but that he had been “putting in a lot of work and time to get back right as quick as I can.”Why does this make sense? The other veteran player the Giants designated for return, running back Jonathan Stewart, saw his deadline to be activated come and go. He will remain on IR for the rest of the season. Why would the Giants, who appear to currently have a full and productive group of wide receivers, be planning to bring Latimer back for the final two games? After missing three months Authentic Christopher Slayton Jersey , and with players like Corey Coleman, Russell Shepard, Bennie Fowler and Jawill Davis all finding ways to contribute, it’s unlikely at this point that the Giants believe Latimer can immediately be more productive than those players. This, in my view, is about the messaging.Coach Pat Shurmur and GM Dave Gettleman have talked incessantly about changing the culture around the Giants. On WFAN this week, Shurmur told Mike Francesa that after a year of incredible turnover he believes most of the players on the current roster will return next season. In my view Christopher Slayton Jersey Boys , bringing Latimer back to the active roster is about those things. It is about telling the locker room that when you work hard and do your job the right way, as Latimer apparently has in getting himself healthy before the season has concluded, that you get rewarded. That is sort of the same reason for giving Sterling Shepard a game ball for his blocking. It may also be the Giants sending a message to Latimer, who signed only a one-year contract with the Giants. Whereas Stewart likely has no future with the Giants, this could be the Giants telling Latimer they want him as part of their 2019 team.

heart-breaker against the Miami Dolphins"WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections NewsNotesOpinionAnalysisDiscussionPodcastNFL DraftSalary CapNotesPlays that defined the 2018 Buffalo Bills: at Miami DolphinsNew Thomas Sweeney Jersey Draft ,61commentsWe look at the plays that defined the Buffalo Bills heart-breaker against the Miami DolphinsEDTShareTweetShareSharePlays that defined the 2018 Buffalo Bills: at Miami DolphinsWith the 2018 NFL season in the books, we look back at the year and our beloved Buffalo Bills. Every week is a story, and we bring this to you through the lens of key plays that defined each game. Your Week 13 match-up:Buffalo Bills at Miami DolphinsThe Bills had just completed their first two-game win streak of the season and were looking to extend it to three. The Dolphins had lost their last two and certainly looked beatable. The Bills more than doubled Miami’s yardage (415 to 175) and won the time of possession battle by nearly six minutes. Despite the skewed statistical output, key errors cost the Bills the game. Jordan Phillips tipped pass (Q1, 2:09)After allowing the Dolphins to score a touchdown on their opening possession Thomas Sweeney NFL Jersey , the Buffalo defense became stingy. This tipped pass by Jordan Phillips helped create the second 3-and-out after the Dolphins early score. The Bills scored on the ensuing drive (see below). The narrative to this game easily could have been the defense. The Dolphins only scraped together 60 rushing yards, 115 net passing, 15 first downs and only two third-down conversions all game. Josh Allen to Zay Jones touchdown (Q2, 11:53)Instead of the defense dominating the story, it was gaffes. A bad penalty day for both teams was especially so for the Bills. This clutch play from Josh Allen to Zay Jones should have been an immediate celebration for fans. On the play before however Thomas Sweeney NFL Draft , a penalty on Wyatt Teller negated their first touchdown. A yellow flag on this play as well was cause for alarm. Luckily it was on the Dolphins and the play stood. Isaiah McKenzie muffed punt (Q2, 3:51)In the middle of the second quarter the Dolphins finally found another first down. A penalty-plagued drive resulted in a punt from their own side of the field. Miscommunication on special teams resulted in this muffed punt by Isaiah McKenzie. Recovered by Senorise Perry, it gave Miami excellent field position, which led to their second score of the game. This and two interceptions thrown by Josh Allen gave the Dolphins enough extra opportunities to come out with the win. Matt Milano defensive pass interference (Q4, 10:34)Did I mention that penalties were a problem? Buffalo had 13 penalties for 120 yards Thomas Sweeney Buffalo Bills Jersey , including this defensive pass interference called on Matt Milano. Despite the flags and turnovers, the Buffalo Bills had pulled ahead by three points. Milano’s flag flipped the field, leading to the Dolphins’ winning score. Josh Allen incomplete to Charles Clay (Q4, 1:05)The Bills got the ball back and continued to shoot themselves in the foot. Working their way to medium-range field goal, two sacks led to a 55-yard attempt from Stephen Hauschka. He missed (there was a couple things working against him). Despite this and all the earlier troubles Infant Devin Singletary Jersey , the Bills were able to put the victory literally in their hands at the end of the game. Josh Allen heaved an incredibly long pass toward Charles Clay and...well maybe I don’t need to explain every play. The Latest on Week 17 of the NFL's regular season (all times Eastern):9:50 p.m.The Indianapolis Colts lead the Tennessee Titans 17-10 at halftime in the race for the AFC's final playoff spot. Andrew Luck has thrown for 196 yards and two touchdowns compared to Blaine Gabbert who has 73 yards passing for the Titans. The Colts are outgaining Tennessee 253-97 in total offense.Adam Vinatieri, the NFL's oldest active player who just turned 46 on Friday, kicked a 53-yard field goal with 39 seconds left in the first half to give the Colts a 17-7 lead.Vinatieri is 4 of 6 from 50 yards or longer this season.Gabbert drove the Titans 55 yards for a 38-yard field goal by Ryan Succop as the first half ended to trim the Colts' lead. The Colts were cruising up 14-0 when the Titans got just enough pressure on Luck for linebacker Jayon Brown to pick off a pass and return it 22 yards for a touchdown.Brown also stripped Marlon Mack of the ball with the Colts inside the Tennessee 20.— Teresa M. Bears vs. Dolphins: Snap counts https://www.thebearsfanshop.com/Khalil-Mack-Jersey , stats, and more All statistics and snap counts are taken directly from the NFL’s Game Statistic and Information System, as we’re the snipped pics with the snap counts. The Chicago Bears lost a game that they could have, and should have, won. The Miami Dolphins kept plugging away at the Bears and they came back for a 31-28 win in overtime. Head coach and play caller, Matt Nagy, was inconsistent with his decisions. He was aggressive, but then conservative. He showed faith in his young offense, but then he got cautious. Nagy is five games into his job, and we’re going to have to deal with his growing pains too. With that being said, the offense still put up 467 yards. They still racked up 23 first downs. Their offense was 8 for 12 (67%) on third down conversions. Did they do enough to win?I guess that depends on your perspective. The Bears were shut out in the first half, there were some missed opportunities, and they only had 124 total yards in the first two quarters. Football is a 60 minute game https://www.thebearsfanshop.com , and if the offense was better in the first 30 minutes, there would have been no overtime. Chicago’s defensive coaches had an extra week to prepare for the ex-Bear think tank of Adam Gase (head coach), Dowell Loggains (offensive coordinator), and Jeremiah Washburn (o-line coach), yet they couldn’t figure out a way to slow down the Dolphins’ offense. The Dolphins sent extra help to their tackles and the Bears only manged 4 quarterback hits, and zero sacks. With so much extra attention going to Chicago's edges, where was the inside blitz? The heat and humidity got to the Bears (more on that later), and Chicago allowed 541 yards in the game. Miami also picked up 23 first downs while converting on 8 of 17 third down tries (47%). The Fins had the time of possession edge 36:35 to 33:25. The Bears were flagged 6 times for 58 yards, while the Dolphins got hit with 7 penalties for 67 yards. None of which were offensive holding. Let’s take a closer look at the playing time break downs for the Bears, and also some individual stats.OFFENSEThe playing time trend for Jordan Howard continues to shrink. The heat could have been a factor, but we won’t know until this next Sunday when the Bears host the New England Patriots. If it shrinks again, that’s a problem. Howard had 14 rushes for 69 yards, and a crucial fumble on the goal line. Tarik Cohen also had a crucial fumble in the game Chicago Bears Customized Jerseys , but he also had a rushing TD on 5 runs for 31 yards. He caught 7 of 9 targets for 90 yards. The other Bears’ turnover was a Mitchell Trubisky red zone interception on a horrible decision, but if you’re looking to blame this loss on him, then you might have some built-in biases that is leading you to an idiotic conclusion. He ended up throwing 31 passes while completing 22 of them for 316 yards and 3 TDs for a passer rating of 122.5. He fought back after a slow start (9 of 14 for 89 yards), which is what you need your quarterback to do. Trubisky completed 5 passes to Allen Robinson II and 5 to Taylor Gabriel. Robinson had 64 yards and a TD, while Gabriel had 110 yards. Gabriel also added a 9 yard run. Rookie wide out Anthony Miller was targeted 4 times and he caught one for a 29 yard TD. Tight end Trey Burton caught Trubisky’s other TD on a shovel pass. He had 4 receptions for 23 yards. Right tackle Bobby Massie was flagged twice for an illegal formation, but if you’re blaming him for those flags then you might be football-stupid. The Bears allowed 2 sacks, and 3 QB hits, and their overall yards per carry average was 5.3.DEFENSESo this happened yesterday...Could it be possible that this (Jahns’ tweet below) had an affect on that (Bowen’s tweet above)?I think so. Miami had 387 total yards in the second half and 154 total in the first. All that YAC helped Miami’s Brock Osweiler to a 94.9 passer rating. Roquan Smith led the Bears with 13 tackles. Fellow inside backer Danny Trevathan had 8 and a QBH. Leonard Floyd had 4 tackles, and 2 penalties. One for throwing a receiver to the ground that didn’t want to be tackled, and the another for grazing Osweilers helmet. Khalil Mack hurt his ankle early, and he ended up with 2 tackles.Defensive end Akiem Hicks, who finished with 7 tackles, 1 QBH Chicago Bears T-Shirts , and a forced fumble, played too many snaps in my opinion. In that heat, at his size, that number should have been south of 75%. Eddie Goldman had 2 tackles and a fumble recovery and Jonathan Bullard had 3 tackles. Bilal Nichols had a tackle and Roy Robertson-Harris had a pass defended. Corner Kyle Fuller had 2 interceptions and 7 tackles. Prince Amukamara, who left after re-injuring his hammy, had 2 tackles, and nickleback Bryce Callahan had 7 tackles, a tackle for loss, and a QBH. Safety Adrian Amos had 9 tackles and a pass defended, and Eddie Jackson had 6 tackles. SPECIAL TEAMSThe above players listed only appeared in the third phase. Cody Parkey missed one kick on the afternoon; a 53 yard field goal in overtime. Pat O’Donnell punted twice for a 39.5 average and he put one inside the 20 yard line. To see the full statistical breakdown of the game, check out the ESPN box score and game recap. There are plenty of instances of coaches complaining about officials for perceived slights, including coaches being fined for those complaints.Bears coach Matt Nagy took a different tack this week, apologizing to officials after he yelled at them for one they got right.Via Colleen Kane of the https://www.thebearsfanshop.com/hats , Nagy said his emotions got the better of him when he screamed about not being able to pull off a quick-change in the second quarter. The Bears were trying to get the punt team off the field and the offense back on, and it might have worked if tackle Bobby Massie hadn’t knocked over line judge Carl Johnson, leading to an official timeout.Nagy lost it for a second, going on the field to argue, before regaining his composure at halftime.“It would have been nice [for Massie] to avoid him so that didn’t happen,” Nagy said. “At that point in time, that’s such a crucial part of the game, my emotions [took over]. … I talked to those guys. I apologized to them. I told them that they did the right thing and we need to coach that play better so that our guys don’t do that.”Whoa, that’s almost like graciousness. And personal accountability. This is going to take a moment to get used to.

CINCINNATI (AP) — Six straight losses Womens Clint Boling Jersey , starting with a pregame scuffle and an epic playoff meltdown.Blown lead after blown lead.Losing their cool and games, too. There’s a common thread to the Bengals‘ most intense rivalry, one that’s been one-sided the past three seasons. No matter what happened, the Steelers always won.The Bengals (4-1) lead the AFC North heading into the renewal of their acrimonious rivalry Sunday at Paul Brown Stadium. They have a chance to create separation from the Steelers (2-2-1). A loss would extend their streak of futility, leave the division wide open, and reinforced the notion that the Bengals can’t get away from their history. Not that they even care to talk about it.“The history doesn’t matter because the history hasn’t been in our favor,” defensive end Carlos Dunlap said Wednesday. That’s an understatement. The rivalry isn’t history as much as a horror story for Cincinnati, strewn with incredible comebacks — all by the Steelers — and ugly moments that made even players wonder if it was getting out of hand. The story has different plot twists, but always the same ending.“It seems like the Bengals, every time they play them they have the game won and something slips Tyler Boyd Jersey White , something happens, and everything just goes to whatever-you-want-to-call-it,” linebacker Preston Brown said. It’s not only lately, either. The Steelers have won nine of 10 and 14 of 17 in the series. The Bengals are 8-24 against the Steelers under coach Marvin Lewis, including 2-15 at Paul Brown Stadium with a pair of playoff losses seared into franchise history.During the 2005 season, Carson Palmer’s left knee was torn on his first pass by Kimo von Oelhoffen’s hit, and Pittsburgh won 31-17. Ten years later, the Steelers came to town twice and the rivalry took an ugly turn.Players had nasty social media exchanges leading to their game on Dec. 13, 2015, and several got into a scrum at midfield during warmups . Andy Dalton broke the thumb on his passing hand while making a tackle after an interception. The Steelers went on to win 33-20 http://www.thebengalslockerroom.com/authentic-joe-mixon-jersey , starting the streak of six straight Pittsburgh victories. They returned for the first round of the playoffs, and AJ McCarron had the Bengals in position to finish off their first postseason victory in a quarter of a century. Jeremy Hill fumbled, Vontaze Burfict hit Antonio Brown in the head on an incompletion, Adam “Pacman” Jones bumped an official, and the Steelers took advantage of the meltdown for an 18-16 win on Chris Boswell’s 35-yard field goal with 14 seconds left.“The one that everybody remembers,” Brown called it. “I’m not going to talk about it. I’m not going to say nothing about it. We all know the playoff game and what happened.”The Steelers swept the series in 2016, including a 24-20 win at Paul Brown Stadium that eliminated the Bengals from playoff contention and ended their streak of five straight postseason appearances. The Bengals blew a 17-3 lead and gained only 38 yards in the second half.Last year, the Bengals managed only 19 yards in the second half of a 29-14 loss at Heinz Field. The Steelers also won the rematch 23-20 at Paul Brown Stadium on a Monday night game that included the Bengals blowing a 17-0 lead and players getting flagged for egregious hits. Boswell’s 38-yard field goal on the final play completed another big Steelers comeback. In the aftermath, JuJu Smith-Schuster got a one-game suspension for decking Burfict and then standing over him. Bengals safety George Iloka got a one-game suspension that was later reduced to a $36,464.50 fine for hitting Brown in the head. There were four penalties for unnecessary roughness Jessie Bates III Jersey White , one for unsportsmanlike conduct, one for taunting, one for roughing the passer and two 15-yard penalties for grabbing the facemask. Cincinnati set a club record with 173 yards in penalties.Pittsburgh’s Ryan Shazier was hurt in that game as well, suffering a spinal injury while making a tackle. And now, they’re getting back together again.“We’ve seen the past, what’s happened in the past,” Dunlap said, “but the past is the past now.”NO GIORunning back Giovani Bernard worked out on a side field wearing a knee brace Wednesday. He sat out a 27-17 win over Miami on Sunday with the knee injury. Receiver John Ross had a limited practice after sitting out a win over the Dolphins with a groin injury. Guard Clint Boling (hip) and tight end Tyler Kroft (foot) also were held out of practice.MORE MOVESThe Bengals signed tight end Matt Lengel off Houston’s practice squad and added safety Demetrious Cox to the practice squad. The Bengals’ injury report from Thursday didn’t change much from Wednesday, but there was one positive development in Shawn Williams’ status. The starting safety is dealing with a concussion that kept him out of practice Wednesday, but he returned for a limited session today. That means there’s a chance he plays Sunday Womens Randy Bullock Jersey , but even if he doesn’t, Clayton Fejedelem has proven to be a capable starter in his place. Still, you’d like to have a full deck when facing a Chiefs offense that’s arguably the best in football right now. The rest of the Bengals who were out Wednesday remained out today, including Giovani Bernard (knee/toe), Darqueze Dennard (sternoclavicular), Tyler Kroft (foot), Billy Price (foot) and Nick Vigil (knee). None of them are expected to be active this week, and it won’t be a surprise if none of them play in Week 8 vs. the Buccaneers, giving them ample time to recover through the Week 9. Backup tight end C.J. Uzomah was limited again with a shoulder injury, putting his status for Sunday in doubt Jordan Evans Jersey , which would be really bad with Kroft already sidelined. One other note: A.J. Green was listed as limited with a non-injury related issue. It’s unclear what that is, but Katherine Terrell reports it caused him to be late to practice. As for the Chiefs, they were again without center Mitch Morse (concussion), safety Eric Berry (heel) and Justin Houston (hamstring). All three players appear unlikely to play Sunday night.
