Thread Your Miami Dolphins will take on the Carolina Panthers this evening in their second game of the pre-season as an away game. Their first pre-season game saw them lose to the Tampa Ba Buccaneers at home at Hard Rock Stadium. Tonight will hopefully serve to answer some more questions about this roster for both the coaching staff and the fan base. One position to keep an eye on tonight is corner-back with rumors that the team is in the market for a starting caliber corner to start opposite Xavian Howard. #4 Rex Burkhead Rex Burkhead exemplifies exactly what you look for in a New England Patriot. He’s fast http://www.patriotscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-phillip-dorsett-jersey , undersized, shifty and plays the game hard and the right way. Labeled as the “Perfect Patriot”, Burkhead, who battled a rib injury and only played in 13 of the team’s 19 games last year, will look to have more of an impact this season. With a lot of versatility and speed at the running back position, Burkhead brings the ability to not only run between the tackles but also catch the football and be effective in the passing game as well. Burkhead could slide in as New England’s all purpose back, basically filling the role that Dion Lewis held last season. It was pretty clear that before Burkhead missed about a month of the season with his rib injury that the Patriots wanted him to be their guy. Despite a Mike Gillislee fumble problem Womens Stephon Gilmore Jersey , it was tough for Burkhead to find time towards the end of the season, though, with Dion Lewis running away with the #1 running back spot.We still saw some bright spots pre-rib injury from him last year. One being in the pre-season against Houston when he came out of the backfield and caught a pass over the middle for a score and one versus the Saints when he caught a wheel route for a touchdown.James White being primarily a pass catcher, and Sony Michel (if healthy) handling most of the carries leaves Burkhead to again slide into some different spots in 2018, where he can help the Patriots in multiple ways. With no Dez Bryant walking through the door (at least for right now) and the Patriots very thin at the wide receiver position (especially for the first four games), the weight on Burkhead’s shoulders has amounted to much more than before. A mix of Burkhead and White can give Tom Brady some shifty weapons out of the backfield.Given his adaptability in learning the offense last season and the level on which he competed, we may see Rex Burkhead break out in many ways this season and be a real X-factor for the Patriots’ offense.New England Patriots links 9/21/18 - Will return of the run game break out vs. Lions? James Daniels could start One of the top offseason discussions surrounding the Chicago Bears was when rookie James Daniels Adrian Amos Jersey , their second-round center from Iowa, would take over as their starting center. After the draft, the Bears talked about him playing left guard, and that was where he was playing most of OTAs, but an injury to a teammate led to Daniels getting more reps at center. I thought he looked pretty good in his limited preseason time at his more comfortable center spot, but it wasn’t good enough to take Cody Whitehair’s job as the starting center according to head coach Matt Nagy and offensive line coach Harry Hiestand. Even though Whitehair struggled with a few bad snaps during camp, the Bears valued the experience Whitehair had. The Bears eventually found more time for Daniels to battle for a starting job at left guard against Eric Kush Authentic Khalil Mack Jersey , but Kush won that job for week 1. Just before the season, it came out that the reason the 20-year old Daniels wasn’t ready to start was more mental than physical. The Bears weren’t comfortable with his grasp of the fronts he’d be seeing in the NFL, and where the blitzes would likely be coming from. Before this revelation I was squarely in the play-the-kid camp, but if he’s not quite ready to recognize what he’s seeing, then I’m fine with easing him into the lineup when he’s ready. Chicago’s o-line coach is one of the best in the business, and Coach Hiestand recently talked about Whitehair and Daniels with Colleen Kane from the Chicago Tribune. If the snapping issues continue, they may be forced to make a change. If Whitehair does move to left guard Youth Nick Kwiatkoski Jersey , it shouldn’t be looked at like a demotion. He’s one of their best o-linemen, and I think he’ll thrive at that spot.Whether at guard or center, I think Daniels is one of their best five offensive linemen once he has the mental side of things down. I think by mid-season, at the very latest, we’ll see him running out with the first string.FanPulse: How Bears and Seahawks fans see Monday’s game Welcome to SB Nation FanPulse — a survey of fans across the NFL, powered by SurveyMonkey. This first question, gauging our confidence in the Chicago Bears, will likely fluctuate with wins and losses. The narrow loss on Sunday Night Football to the Green Bay Packers caused a 11% dip in this week’s poll. Check out this week’s results in the graphic below. How confident are you in the direction of the team? Last week: 93 percent confidenceI’d expect a similar drop if the Bears lose on Monday night against the Seattle Seahawks in Chicago’s home opener, but if they even their record at 1-1, I predict we’re back up over 90%.Will the Bears win or lose in Week 2?Odds: Bears are 3-point favoritesWindy City Gridiron FanPulse: Bears by 6Field Gulls FanPulse: Seahawks by 2I’m not surprised that Bears’ fans are taking the Bears, while Seahawks’ fans are picking the Seahawks. The average scoring margin tells me that we’re a lot more confident in our team than they are with theirs however. For the record Eddie Jackson Jersey , I picked the Bears to win by 10.This results of the final question this week pleases me. Other than QB, what is most valuable to an NFL offense? Left tackle was the overwhelming answer across all the FanPulse team surveys. I’m always good seeing the offensive line getting some love. I voted for the left tackle too, but a good argument could be made that right tackle is up there too. Defenses no longer exclusively put their best edge rusher on their right side to attack the blindside of QBs. Chicago’s Khalil Mack (I still smile when I type that) and Denver’s Von Miller are two of the best sack-artists in the game today, and both do most of their damage of the defense’s left side. What are your thoughts on the FanPulse this week? And if you haven’t joined, JOIN HERE!

The Chargers finally got some good news on the injury front today. A bunch of players that have missed a good chunk of training camp are returning to practice today. This is very good news for the Chargers. Trevor Williams has been missed in the Chargers starting secondary and will be a welcome sight out there opposite Casey Hayward. DT Justin Jones Womens Caleb Sturgis Jersey , the 3rd round pick for the Chargers this year, injured his ankle 2 weeks ago and has missed both preseason games. The team has not looked great on the DL so getting to see what Justin Jones brings to the table is going to be important. FB Anthony Manzo-Lewis is a long shot to make the roster, as the team likes what they have in Derek Watt, but having him back in the rotation is a good thing. These three players returning to practice comes on the heels of Forrest Lamp returning to full participation in practice yesterday and the report that Joey Bosa will likely be back practicing this week as well. Hopefully this positive trend carries through the rest of the preseason. UPDATE:Austin Ekeler is also back?! Buffalo Bills 13 Youth Star Lotulelei Jersey , Tennessee Titans 12: Bills scrape low-scoring win in Orchard Park 13-12, on the back of an outstanding performance from their their defense. The Bills kept the Titans behind schedule and controlled the line of scrimmage with a run-obsessed gameplan, finishing with a game-winning field goal by Stephen Hauschka as the game expired. The Buffalo defense suffocated the Titans for most of the day. They had three turnovers, kept Tennessee out of the end zone, and limited the Titans to 221 yards of total offense. Marcus Mariota was 14-of-26 for 129 yards (5.0 yards per attempt) and an interception. The Titans runners combined for 100 yards on 25 carries. Kyle Williams and Jerry Hughes each had a sack. Hughes would’ve had two, but he shoved Mariota to try and avoid a roughing the passer penalty, which backfired when Mariota didn’t lose his balance. The Bills treated Josh Allen with kid gloves in this game, running at more than a 2:1 ratio compared to his passes. It was a good idea too Youth Jordan Poyer Jersey , considering Tennessee’s stout defense. The Bills really struggled to break big plays, with their longest result of the day a 16 yard run from LeSean McCoy. Allen scored a rushing touchdowns and generally made smart decisions most of the day, but rarely attempted to attack the Titans defense. He threw for fewer than five yards per attempt, and though it wasn’t his fault, Allen had an interception bounce off Andre Holmes into the hands of a defender. The big plays weren’t available, but that was enough for today’s win.The other side of Buffalo’s treatment was their stronger commitment to LeSean McCoy and the running game. McCoy had more rushing attempts in this game than he had in the rest of the season to this point. the Titans defense mostly contained him, but he still produced more than 100 all-purpose yards. The Bills finished with an unsexy 43 carries for 144 yards and a Josh Allen touchdown. At 2-3, the Bills climbed out of the AFC’s basement, and preserved Sean McDermott’s winning record for at least two more weeks (the head coach is now 11-10 with the Buffalo Bills).NotesNew waiver addition Jordan Phillips had a good day Buffalo Bills Hats , in on two tackles for loss.Rookie Taron Johnson netted his first career interception.Rookie Tremaine Edmunds had his second career forced fumble. Shaq Lawson and Jerry Hughes also forced fumbles on the day, and the Bills recovered two of those three.Corey Bojorquez appeared to injure his upper arm, but it didn’t impact his punting. He downed his next kick within the five yard line.Ray-Ray McCloud all but iced the game on his second career catch with a bubble screen for a first down at the end of the fourth quarter. This was the first game-winning drive of Josh Allen’s career.Bojorquez was the only notable injury to come out of this game in real time.Buffalo Bills vs. Cleveland Browns: Third string live blog & open thread After an up-and-down first half of preseason action, the Buffalo Bills find themselves leading 13-7 as the third-string players take to the field against the Cleveland Browns. In the first quarter, AJ McCarron couldn't move the first team offense, and despite only surrendering a single touchdown, the starting Bills defense was gashed on the ground. Offensively, the Bills did not earn a first down until 10:59 in the second quarter. After coming in early in that same quarter, Josh Allen immediately provided a spark Buffalo Bills Hoodie , marching the team right down the field and completing a pretty pass to Rod Streater for a touchdown. Then, after a great punt return by Marcus Murphy, Allen successfully commanded the two-minute offense in a drive that resulted in a field goal. Allen again led the team into field goal range after halftime. Allen finished 9-of-13 for 60 yards and the aforementioned touchdown pass, and Bills fans have to be impressed with his second preseason performance.Allen’s night aside, this half will be very important for Nathan Peterman, as AJ McCarron had a brief but subpar start to the game. Peterman has an opportunity to create some separation in the ongoing quarterback competition. His performance in last week’s preseason game against the Carolina Panthers was almost flawless, but how will he perform playing with the third-string receivers and linemen? Keep it locked here as we watch and find out.

He did not return any kicks in college at Ball State and his athletic measurables are well below average for the position.Take it to the Bank PodcastJimmy Smith’s suspension fallout http://www.baltimoreravensteamauthentic.com/sam-koch-jersey , Ronnie Stanley’s injury news and a thorough recap of the Ravens preseason performance against Indianapolis.Ravens’ John Harbaugh does not believe the run-pass balance was an issue in Week 5 After the Ravens’ heartbreaking 12-9 overtime loss to the Browns at FirstEnergy Stadium, most of the criticism has focused on Marty Mornhinweg’s pass-heavy approach. Joe Flacco and Lamar Jackson combined to attempt 57 passes compared to just 25 rushing attempts. Despite the criticism, head coach John Harbaugh does not believe that was much of an issue.“No, I don’t. We ran it [25] times. That’s a lot of times to run it in this league. I mean if you look at numbers around the league, that’s a lot. I don’t feel that way,” Harbaugh stated during his Monday afternoon press conference. “You got to do whatever you can do to move the ball and score points. You know http://www.ravensauthorizedshops.com/authentic-marshal-yanda-jersey , we have been doing a pretty good job of that up until this last game. We just need to put more points on the board.”The entire NFL has shifted in the direction of having a pass-happy offense, and in fact, Baltimore ranks seventh in total rushing attempts. Many teams are shying away from running the ball, but Harbaugh believes the more significant issue is the lack of efficiency. “This run-pass balance thing, I don’t understand why it is a topic,” Harbaugh said. “We want to run the ball well. We are working as hard as we can to do it. If the question is are you working hard at the run game Cheap Maurice Canady Jersey , yeah we’re working real hard at it. We want to be a really good running team.”Another trend that several teams around the NFL are utilizing is a running back by committee approach. Unlike in previous seasons where teams would have one workhorse running back, they are using multiple running backs throughout the game in different situations. According to the playtime percentages, Alex Collins only received 27 snaps compared to Javorius Allen’s 50. While Collins is still perceived to be the lead back as he led the team in carries with 12, Allen received the lion’s share of snaps. When asked about the snap distribution, Harbaugh suggested it was merely the flow of the game.“That’s the way the game went. I’d like to get De’Lance [Turner] out there a little more. So you want to play your guys. A fresh running back is a good thing. I think running backs taking 40 or 50 snaps is not necessarily a great thing. You talk about balance, put the ball in one guy’s hand for 35 plays I don’t know if that’s balance. You need to spread the load http://www.ravenscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-john-brown-jersey ,” Harbaugh said. De’Lance Turner was an undrafted free agent running back out of Alcorn State, who was promoted to the 53-man roster after Kenneth Dixon suffered a knee injury in Baltimore’s Week 1 win over the Bills. In the preseason, Turner showed big-play ability as he recorded a 65-yard touchdown against the Dolphins in the Week 3. Whether or not he receives more carries remains to be seen, but Baltimore’s offense has bigger fish to fry. As Harbaugh mentioned during his press conference, the more concerning trend should be Baltimore’s red zone woes. They have scored one touchdown in their last eight trips to the red zone — including a drive consisting of two kneel downs against the Steelers in Week 4 to end the game. The Ravens will have a tough task in Week 6 as they will face a Titans defense that is allowing the fourth-fewest points per game in the first five weeks. Tennessee is also stout in the red zone as they have only allowed three touchdowns on 13 opportunities.

Stats Every week White Denico Autry Jersey , I will present a summary of some basic and advanced stats for the Colts performance relative to the league. Thanks to Pro Football Reference, NFL.com and the nflSCrapR project as the sources of weekly data.Remember everything I wrote about the defense last week? Take the opposite of that and you have this week’s summary. What a turnaround. The defense held Washington to 3 field goals of offense limiting them to a 64.5% DSR, which is very good (well that’s a bad DSR which is good for the defense). Washington only broke into the red zone on 2 drives and on one of those was promptly sacked behind the 20. The Indy D did not yield a first down via penalty all game and notched 3 sacks, 1 more than the previous week.TEAM TOTALSRanked by Adj PPD, the Colts D put up the second best mark of the week and limited Washington to a paltry 4.7 yds per play (which unfortunately was the same as our offense). The defense also held Washington to a bottom 10 performance in first downs conversions with <30% of plays converting and only 1 in 3 on 3rd downs. This was just an end to end good performance that was sorely needed. PASSING DEFENSERanked by ANY/A, Alex Smith was held to 5.5 yards. While the Indy defense gave up almost a 72% completion rate, that was driven by an average pass of only 4.8 yds through the air.Smith posted a 3.5 the week before so that wasn’t so much a function of our D being stingy but rather that Smith likes short passes. Receiver YAC was held to a below average 4.1 yards and helped limit Smith to only 6.3 YPA. That’s a solid effortagainst a QB that put up 8.5 the week before. RUSHING DEFENSEWashington rushing was stifled at 65 yards, much of which was a function of trailing in the game. But even so, the defense was stingy on the ground, limiting Washington to less than 1 success in 3 carries and less than 25% overall weighted success rate. CONCLUSIONOver 2 weeks the defense has been Jekyll and Hyde and so it’s tough to truly say how they are performing. If the D from this week shows up the rest of the year, it won’t be a question of playoffs it will be a question of home field or not. Thoughts? Suggestions? Comments? The 2018 Indianapolis Colts are a much different team than any of us could have expected through three games. The defense is playing at a very high level led by the dominant play of rookie second round pick Darius Leonard. While Leonard has been racking up the stats and very high praise league wide, there is another defensive player who deserves a ton of credit for the quick turnaround. That player is none other than defensive lineman Margus Hunt — just like we all expected.Hunt entered the preseason presumably on the Colts’ roster bubble. The team is in the middle of a rebuild and is taking a slow, youth first approach to building up the roster. This was evident by the surprising release of defensive tackle Jonathan Hankins prior to the offseason. Many assumed that other veteran players, such as Hunt who turned 31 back in July, would also be on the way out. Hunt then defied the odds in the preseason, beating out fan favorite John Simon for a roster spot. Defensive coordinator pointed out Hunt as one of the players who really stood out in July/ August and thought he really excelled in the new scheme Eberflus was installing. That trust in Hunt to not only keep him on the roster but to give him significant snaps has resulted in 8 tackles for a loss and 3 sacks in just three games this season. So what is the reason for this breakout? Is Hunt really this good or is Defensive Coordinator Matt Eberflus and his 4-3 scheme setting up Hunt for big plays? Well lets look to the film and see what is really the reason behind Margus Hunt’s dominant play.Skill Set and Development:One of the main factors to Hunt’s breakout is the refinement of his near elite traits that he’s had since entering the NFL. Hunt is a massive 6’8” 298 pound player with insane strength and speed for man his size. At his combine back in 2013, Hunt led all defensive lineman with an insane 4.60 40 yard dash (the same 40 time that Eric Ebron ran) and 38 reps on the bench press (3 more reps than Quenton Nelson). If you need anymore proof that this man is a pure athlete, here’s a reminder that he won two Gold Medals in the shot put and discus events at the 2006 World Junior Championships. So yeah http://www.authenticsindianapoliscolts.com/cheap-nate-hairston-jersey , this guy has the traits to be a star. But does it translate on the field? In years past, not so much, but Hunt has clearly been working on his game this offseason. Lets look at our first clip here against the Eagles. Hunt is lined up over one of the best centers in football in Jason Kelce. After a really quick jump out of his stance, Hunt’s strength is able to throw Kelce on his back. If this play were not a quick hitter, we are looking at another sack for Hunt. This kind of strength is unheard of as not many players have the ability to effortlessly throw a player of Kelce’s caliber on his back.Well, okay that last play was impressive but it didn’t translate to anything statistically. Lets look at a play where he is able to make a play on the ball carrier. Here Hunt is being double teamed by center Jason Kelce (#62) and guard Stefen Wisniewski (#61). Notice how Hunt is able to strafe down the line, through the double team, and still make the play. His strength and athleticism to be able to fight through those two blocks and still put himself in the right position to make a play is remarkable. Again this is a play that very few players can make yet Hunt has the skill set to come all the way across the line and make the tackle. So it’s easy to establish how strong of a player Hunt is on tape. But what about his explosion and quickness? Oh yeah he has that too. Watch this clip here against Washington Redskins guard Shawn Lauvao (#77). Right off the snap, Hunt explodes out of his stance and gets inside position on Lauvao. Hunt is then able to quickly turn the corner inside and beat Lauvao for the sack. Even though this play was negated due to an offsides call on Kemoko Turay, it shows the strides that Hunt has taken in the offseason as a pass rusher. He had the strength before the year but adding quickness and explosion out of his stance is making him really hard to block one on one for interior offensive lineman. This last clip here shows all of his traits in one. First he has the strength to just disregard Lauvao and toss him aside. He then shows off his athletic ability to strafe down the line in a zone run and tackle running back Adrian Peterson for a loss. Again, for a player who is 6’8” to be able to crash down the line like this and make this play is quite insane. Hunt’s traits and athletic ability are up there with the best defensive lineman in all of football. Scheme Fit:So we’ve not only established that Margus Hunt has the traits to be a good player in the NFL http://www.authenticsindianapoliscolts.com/cheap-rigoberto-sanchez-jersey , but he possesses the traits to be a star player in this league. So the main question that naturally comes to mind then is why has it taken so long for this breakout to happen? Well that is where Defensive Coordinator Matt Eberflus comes in. Eberflus came from coaching the Dallas Cowboys’ linebackers last year and brings an aggressive, stunt heavy 4-3 defense to the Colts. This scheme perfectly fits Hunt’s strengths as it asks him to primarily shoot gaps and disrupt rather than being an all around playmaker.Lets go to the film here. Now this first play is nothing flashy but Hunt accomplishes everything he is supposed to here. Hunt is yet again matched up with Stefen Wisniewski (#62) and is just shooting the gap here. When the outside zone comes Hunt’s way, the running back has no choice but to cut back inside as Hunt walked Wisniewski into the backfield and right in front of the running back. Hunt effectively forces the play back inside where Anthony Walker is waiting to make the tackle. This play isn’t flashy by any means but it contributes to an overall defensive effort and accomplishes what Matt Eberflus wants from his defensive lineman. Here is another example of Hunt shooting the gap and disrupting the play. Hunt shoots the A gap between the guard and center and is able to get good penetration across the line. As a result, running back Corey Clement is forced to find the cut back lane which happens to be right where a host of defenders are waiting for him for a minimal gain. This play is again attributed to Hunt’s fit in Eberflus’ scheme as he is asked to just get up field and force the ball carrier back to where the other defenders are. Again not a flashy play but it helps limit the other offense and makes things easier on the linebackers. Now these last few plays have not been flashy at all but they have shown glimpses of what Eberflus clearly liked about Hunt in the offseason. Now what happens when Hunt’s athleticism and newfound ability to time up snap counts is put into this gap shooting scheme. The potential for big tackles for a loss. Watch this play here as Hunt is again just tasked with shooting the A gap between the guard and center. Hunt times up the snap perfectly and is able to blow past the center for the huge tackle for a loss. Now this is a busted play for the Eagles but without Hunt getting back there so quickly, QB Carson Wentz could have gotten rid of the ball and saved 8 yards. This play right here is what happens when pure talent meets a perfect scheme fit. Here is another example of Hunt shooting the A gap resulting in a big tackle for a loss. The Redskins here are going for a quick draw to running back Chris Thompson, a play that typically leads to a lot of success for them. Hunt, just doing his assignment here, blows the play up by exploding past guard Brandon Scherff and center Chase Roullier. Hunt isn’t overwhelming any blockers in these last two snaps or even showing off his coveted strength, but he is using his natural traits to excel in his role in a designed defense. As a result, he is leading the NFL in tackles for a loss three games into the season. Now shooting gaps isn’t the only way that Margus Hunt is being utilized in Matt Eberflus’ scheme. In this defense, there is a lot of stunting in the defensive line particularly on passing downs. Hunt is a near perfect fit for this as well as he has the big frame to eat up lineman so others can stunt around him and the athleticism to efficiently twist around others who are eating up blocks. On this play here Youth Andrew Luck Jersey , Hunt is able to draw center Jason Kelce (#62) to far out of position to set up Jabaal Sheard on the inside stunt. Kelce tries to recover but whiffs big time as Sheard has an open lane to the quarterback. Although this play didn’t result in a sack, this near impact play is a direct result of Margus Hunt eating up blocks inside. Last play here but this is the big impact play that we’ve also seen from Hunt on these stunt plays. His athleticism allows him to quickly get around the edge to engage right tackle Lane Johnson on the twist. Despite not beating Johnson, Hunt is able to get enough of a push to get his arms on the quarterback. Hunt makes an excellent play here by reaching around Johnson to knock the ball away from Carson Wentz. All around a great drawn up play by Matt Eberflus on 3rd and long and a great impact play by Hunt.Bonus Clip: Get Your Hands UpI just really wanted to add this play to show how far Hunt has come from his early days in the NFL. Hunt entered the NFL as a raw 25 year old who didn’t have much football experience under his belt. His growth in 6 years is shown here in this savvy veteran move. Unable to get up field against his blocker, Hunt doesn’t desperately overrun the play like many young players would. Instead Hunt sits back, keeps contain on Carson Wentz and gets his hands into the passing lane. Again not the flashiest play but a very savvy play that shows how much Hunt has grown in his time in the NFL.Analysis:Overall I am very impressed with the strides Margus Hunt has taken as a player. He is no longer a raw draft bust but rather an effective role player who has the traits to impact the game. He really has grown in the mental aspect of his game from his early years as instead of trying to do too much he is just doing his role at a high level and letting the plays come to him.Now I will say that he is not the superstar that his stats would indicate. He does have some work to do before he reaches that status such as developing more counters and using his hands more when rushing the passer but this is still the best Margus Hunt has played in his six year career. Defensive Coordinator Matt Eberflus raved about Margus Hunt this offseason and I can see why. Hunt is the perfect fit in his gap shooting, stunt heavy system and the stats that Hunt is putting up are a major indicator of that. When a great scheme fit meets pure talent and opportunity, you get what could be a career year for the Estonian giant Margus Hunt.

We’re back with another installment from Football Outsiders Authentic Ted Ginn Jr Jersey , which focuses on all things related to the New Orleans Saints (be sure to check their 2018 Almanac here). Today’s topic focuses on the big men on the front line, who are extremely underrated and underappreciated. The Saints offensive line doesn’t get enough credit from many, what were some of the areas they were in the top compared to other teams?Larry Warford was the only Saints offensive lineman to make the Pro Bowl, and he wasn’t even voted in at first. Ryan Ramczyk went from being the pick nearly everyone made fun of at 32nd overall to being a superb staple at right tackle as a rookie. Max Unger, who was 31 years old last season and has been in the league since 2009, played in every single offensive snap for the Saints last year (1,037) — so did Ramczyk. Andrus Peat was thrown into playing left tackle to help fill in for injuries, but was still as effective as he was playing left guard. Terron Armstead, who did battle injuries last season, played in just 10 regular season games for the Saints. However, his blocks/presence were felt. This team doesn’t win in overtime against the Redskins without his block that sprung Mark Ingram, and when he tossed the Bills linebacker like a rag doll? That was something.Drew Brees was sacked just 20 times in 2017, his lowest total since the 2009 season. This was a Saints offense that was fourth in the league in scoring (448 points), second in total yards (6,259), first in rushing touchdowns (23), second in yards per attempt (4.7), fifth in rushing yards (2,070), fifth in passing yards (4,189), and second in interceptions thrown (8). If the big guys up front don’t do their job properly, then none of this happens. Both Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara made the Pro Bowl from stellar years, and they’ll be the first to tell you how much they value their offensive linemen. The biggest question mark for New Orleans entering 2018 is who will emerge as the sixth man, who many might recall was Senio Kelemete. That answer has not yet emerged, but even without that, this promises to be another solid season for the Saints offensive line.Oh by the way, let’s take those trash Madden 19 ratings and throw them out the window.New Orleans Saints vs. Washington Redskins series history and predictions The 3-1 New Orleans Saints host the Washington Redskins this Monday night Womens Ken Crawley Jersey , returning home after two straight road games for their first prime time game of the season. The defending NFC South champions come into the game as winners of three straight, while the 2-1 Redskins are coming off a bye week. This is the 27th meeting between New Orleans and Washington, with the Redskins holding a 17-9 edge. That includes a 9-4 record in games that are played in New Orleans, battleground for this game. These two teams were division rivals when the Saints first entered the league in 1967, as members of the NFL's Capitol division, along with the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys. They were joined again in 1969 prior to the AFL-NFL merger, after New Orleans played one year in the Century division. In the Saints second game as a franchise, they fell to Washington at home, 30-10, but exacted a measure of revenge later that year by defeating the Redskins 30-14 on the road. The Saints were led that day by one of the early stars in it's franchise history, wide receiverDanny Abramowitz, who had 7 catches for 144 yards and a score. Washington held a 3-2 record against the expansion Saints prior to the league merger and realignment in 1970. They would meet just 12 times between 1970 and 2000, with the Redskins winning nine of the match ups, including all six meetings from 1980-90. This will be the Redskins 10th visit to the Mercedes Benz Superdome, where they hold a 7-2 record against the Saints.Photo by Chris McGrath/Getty ImagesDrew Brees is just 2-4 against Washington since joining the Saints in 2006, including 1-2 at home, with both victories coming in overtime shootouts. On December 6, 2009, New Orleans entered FedEx field in Washington with an undefeated 11-0 record. The Redskins kept the Saints defense on their heels most of the game, finishing with 488 total yards. Quarterback Jason Campbell performed especially well, throwing for 367 yards and three scores while spreading the ball to nine different receivers. New Orleans could not establish a running game, averaging under 3 yards per carry and finishing with just 55 yards. Leaving Brees to shoulder the load of the offense, he would match Campbell strike for strike, finishing with 419 yards passing and two scores of his own. With less than 30 seconds to go in the first half and New Orleans driving for a field goal, Redskins defensive back Kareem Moore intercepted the Saints quarterback. During the return however, Moore was stripped of the ball by New Orleans wideout Robert Meachem, who returned the thievery 44 yards for a touchdown to tie the score at 17 at halftime. Meachem, who had a magnificent game with 8 catches and 142 receiving yards Womens Alex Anzalone Jersey , played hero again when he snagged a 53-yd. touchdown strike from Brees with just over a minute remaining to send the game into overtime. New Orleans would come away with a 33-30 victory, in one of the most exciting moments of their Super Bowl championship season. The Saints and Redskins may forever be linked for a development off the field, rather than on the gridiron. Entering the 1999 draft, then-Saints coach Mike Ditka wanted desperately to move from his team's 12th overall selection into the top of the draft to draft a running back. He finally found a suitor in the Washington Redskins, and proceeded to pull off one of the biggest, and one of the most controversial, trades in NFL history. Washington traded their pick, the 5th overall, to New Orleans. In exchange, the Redskins received the Saints 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th round picks of the 1999 draft, along with the Saints 1st and 3rd round picks of the 2000 draft. New Orleans used that pick to select Ricky Williams, the Heisman Trophy winning running back from Texas. Washington would package their picks in other trades and wind up obtaining three Pro Bowl players in cornerback Champ Bailey, linebacker LaVar Arrington, and offensive lineman Jon Jansen. Ditka would be (mercifully) fired after the '99 season, and Williams would play just 3 years in New Orleans, rushing for over 1,000 yards in two of those seasons. It wasn't the first time that the Redskins fleeced New Orleans, or Ditka, in a trade. Just years earlier, during the 1997 offseason, Washington dealt quarterback Heath Shuler, the 3rd overall pick in the 1994 draft, to the Saints in exchange for a 5th round pick in the 1997 draft Womens Terron Armstead Jersey , and a 3rd round pick the following season. Shuler, who had lost his starting job in Washington due to consistently poor play, is considered one of the biggest draft busts of all time. He would play just one season with Ditka in New Orleans, completing just 52% of his passes while throwing only two touchdown passes and 14 interceptions. Photo by Wesley Hitt/Getty ImagesThe Saints would not defeat the Redskins in the Superdome, site of this contest, until the 1992 season. Washington came into the game as defending Super Bowl champions, while New Orleans had won the NFC West the year before. The Saints dominated the Skins that day, led by their Dome Patrol defense, which sacked Super Bowl M.V.P. Mark Rypien four times in a 20-3 win. New Orleans has not had that same amount of success against Washington quarterbacks in recent years. In the six meetings against the Redskins since Sean Payton became head coach in 2006 (he was suspended for the 2012 season), the New Orleans defense has allowed Redskins quarterbacks an average of 333 yards passing and 37 points per game, while giving up 12 touchdown passes and intercepting them just once. The last time these two teams met was in the Mercedes Benz Superdome on November 19th last year, one of the most exciting games of the 2017 season. Drew Brees and Washington quarterback Kirk Cousins combined for 707 passing yards and five touchdown passes in a classic duel. Brees fired the last shots, leading his team to two touchdowns and a 2-pt. conversion in the final six minutes of the game and an overtime drive to prevail 34-31. Photo by Sean Gardner/Getty ImagesThe Saints will face a different Redskins quarterback this time in Alex Smith, a player who has also given the New Orleans fan base nightmares over the years. (A certain divisional playoff game in the 2012 may come to mind) Smith will have plenty of help offensively. Tight ends Jordan Reed and Vernon Davis, along with receiver Jamison Crowder, have caused havoc in the Saints secondary before. The Redskins also added dangerous wideout Paul Richardson in the offseason, along with former (for a brief time) New Orleans running back Adrian Peterson. Washington also has a physical and deep front seven defensively that has them near the top of the league rankings. Photo by Patrick Smith/Getty ImagesThe Saints welcome their Pro Bowl running back Mark Ingram back to the lineup this week, returning from a four game suspension. New Orleans is coming off of their best defensive effort of the season, and look to match up well against a Redskins offense that attacks opponents with their backs and tight ends moreso than their outside receivers. New Orleans will be without wideout Ted Ginn, out with a knee injury, but still have two of the top offensive threats in the game with Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara, now rejoined by Ingram. Quarterback Drew Brees sits on the verge of one of the most prestigious records in all of sports. With just 201 passing yards, Brees will pass Peyton Manning as the NFL's all-time passing yardage leader. Brees could hold this record by halftime, and almost certainly before the end of the 3rd quarter, with the matchup advantages that New Orleans looks to have against the Washington secondary. Coach Sean Payton's Saints normally start fast in home prime time games, and has a chance to continue building momentum as an NFC contender as they begin the second quarter of their season. The silky-smooth slugger stalled in his bid for the league’s first Triple Crown in decades, but he starred once again as the Brew Crew captured the biggest prize of the day.“I know how hard it is to get to this point and I’m proud to be a part of this group,” Yelich said as Milwaukee’s boozy party swirled around him, filling every inch of the cramped visitors’ clubhouse at Wrigley Field.Lorenzo Cain hit a go-ahead single in the eighth inning to help Milwaukee to its eighth straight win and home-field advantage throughout the NL playoffs. The Brewers will host the wild-card winner starting Thursday in the best-of-five Division Series.Chicago stays at Wrigley for Tuesday night’s wild-card game against Colorado. The Rockies lost 5-2 to the Los Angeles Dodgers in Monday’s second tiebreaker for the NL West title.“It’s no fun. Of course we’d prefer the other route,” manager Joe Maddon said. It’s a quick turnaround after falling short in their bid for a third straight division title, but the Cubs will have ace left-hander Jon Lester on the mound for the elimination game.“We’ll be ready. This team has responded all year,” said Anthony Rizzo, who homered for Chicago’s run.Yelich singled home Milwaukee’s first run and won the NL batting title with a .326 average. He had 110 RBIs, one behind the Cubs’ Javier Baez, and finished with 36 home runs, two shy of Colorado’s Nolan Arenado. The tiebreakers were game 163 of the regular season and Arenado’s homer counted in the totals.Joe Medwick in 1937 was the last NL player to win the Triple Crown. Miguel Cabrera did it for Detroit in 2012.Milwaukee trailed Chicago by as many as five games in September, but manager Craig Counsell’s club pushed the season to an extra day with a furious finish and then used its deep lineup and bullpen to outlast the playoff-tested Cubs.“It just shows the heart and the mentality that this team has,” Cain said. “Never give up. Continue to fight each and every day in each and every at-bat. We’re going to continue to do that in the playoffs.”Orlando Arcia, batting in the eighth slot, had a career-high four hits, and Josh Hader closed out another dominant relief performance for the Brewers.“All the guys in the ‘pen, they’re attacking the zone and putting us in a good position to win ballgames http://www.redsoxproshops.com/authentic-fred-lynn-jersey ,” Hader said.Jose Quintana pitched six-hit ball into the sixth inning, but Chicago’s bullpen faltered at a key moment. Rizzo, Baez and Daniel Murphy accounted for the Cubs’ three hits. The game was tied at 1 before Milwaukee opened the eighth with three straight hits. Arcia singled on a 0-2 pitch from Justin Wilson (4-5), Domingo Santana had a pinch-hit double and Cain greeted Steve Cishek with a single back up the middle. After Yelich struck out swinging — a rare occurrence during an extraordinary stretch for the NL MVP favorite — Ryan Braun got the Brewers an insurance run with a run-scoring single to center. It was more than enough for Milwaukee’s vaunted bullpen. Corey Knebel (4-3) extended his scoreless streak to 16 1/3 innings with a perfect seventh, and Hader worked two innings for his 12th save.Rizzo had one last chance for Chicago, but he flied to right with Baez on second for the final out . When it was over, Hader wrapped his arms around catcher Erik Kratz as the rest of the Brewers poured out of the dugout.A sizable portion of Milwaukee fans in the crowd of 38,450 chanted “Let’s go Brewers! Let’s go Brewers!” — a rarity at Wrigley over the past few years.“We could hear ’em, we could really hear them and we fed off of that,” Yelich said. “We wanted to bring this home for them.”Yelich also heard repeated “MVP!” chants when he singled in each of his first three at-bats. He drove in Arcia with his two-out hit in the third.Jhoulys Chacin sailed into the fifth inning with the lead, retiring 11 of his first 12 batters. But Rizzo led off with a massive drive to right for his 25th homer, tying it 1.The crowd roared as Rizzo rounded the bases and then popped out of the dugout for a curtain call.Chicago had a chance to grab the lead in the sixth, but Joakim Soria escaped the threat by striking out Baez with runners on first and second.“That was the big moment,” Counsell said.Chacin allowed one hit in 5 2/3 innings, setting up Milwaukee’s bullpen quite nicely. The right-hander struck out three and walked two in another solid effort in a career year.Quintana kept the Cubs in the game with another stingy performance against Milwaukee, allowing one run in five-plus innings. The left-hander is 4-1 with a 2.13 ERA in seven starts against the Brewers this year.UP NEXTThe Rockies and Cubs split six games this season, with each team scoring 33 runs.

Myers was scheduled to make his eighth start at the hot corner as San Diego experiments with sliding the veteran outfielder and first baseman across the diamond. PHOENIX (AP) — Two nights in a row, Anthony Rizzo has made a major impact on Chicago Cubs wins with efforts that don’t stand out in the boxscore.Rizzo beat out a potential double play by hustling to first base Monday http://www.royalsfanproshop.com/authentic-brandon-moss-jersey , and teammate Javier Baez followed with a two-run homer. Chicago increased its lead in the NL Central to 3 1/2 games over Milwaukee, which lost at home to last-place Cincinnati.“I saw it all,” Rizzo said. “They were just borderline pitches. You would love for that ball to sneak through, but when you wear pitchers out like that, it’s something that the next guy and the next guy can have success.”Daniel Murphy also hit a two-run homer as the Cubs jumped out to a big early lead. Mike Montgomery (5-5) allowed a run and four hits with a season-high eight strikeouts in six innings for his first win since Aug. 7.“Changeup was really working,” Montgomery said. “Obviously Bo Jackson Jersey , this rotation is working well so I kind of wanted to jump in line and be a guy that goes out there and gives us as many innings as he can.”The slumping Diamondbacks dropped six games behind the first-place Dodgers in the NL West and six back of St. Louis for the second wild card. They have lost four in a row and nine of 11.The Cubs built a 5-0 lead after their first two turns at bat.In the first inning, Baez drove a 2-0 pitch from Matt Andriese onto the pool deck in right-center. But the Diamondbacks’ season that got off to a great start appears on the verge of ending with no return to the postseason.“We still have two feet in this race and I believe something good can come out of it,” manager Torey Lovullo said. “Whether it is tomorrow or next year Paulo Orlando Jersey , I believe we are learning some valuable lessons.”Andriese (3-6) lasted two innings and was charged with five runs on five hits in a bullpen game for Arizona. Four other pitchers appeared.“Not the way I wanted my first start with the Diamondbacks,” Andriese said. “That Rizzo at-bat kind of made me work hard and kind of put me behind the 8-ball.”HEY, IT’S HEYWARDHeyward started for the first time since being activated from the disabled list on Sunday. He came in as a defensive replacement in right field in the ninth inning on Monday. He had been out since Aug. 31 with a hamstring injury.Heyward was lifted for a pinch-hitter in the fifth.“Jason looked really good at the plate,” Maddon said. “First ball in the gap and second one was really well struck up the middle.”SPRING TRAINING FEELThe Diamondbacks, down 9-1 after five innings, made six lineup changes before the sixth, including replacing star first baseman Paul Goldschmidt. It was a weekend to honor a couple of baseball’s distinguished sluggers.Adrian Beltre received a standing ovation in the Texas Rangers‘ home finale Sunday. The star third baseman’s future is uncertain http://www.giantsfanproshop.com/authentic-madison-bumgarner-jersey , but the fans showed their appreciation in case this turns out to be his final season. There was less ambiguity in Detroit, where Victor Martinez is calling it a career, and he played his last game Saturday.Beltre has been noncommittal about his future, saying he’ll make a decision after discussions with family. He said he’s ready to accept that “maybe this is it” — but the door still seems at least somewhat open to a return. If he retires, he’s already done enough to earn plenty of Hall of Fame support, with over 3,100 hits in 21 seasons. This is his eighth season with the Rangers.Martinez made his big league debut with Cleveland in 2002. He also played briefly with Boston before joining the Tigers prior to the 2011 season. Detroit immediately won four straight division titles after his arrival.Martinez finished second in the American League MVP vote in 2014. Utley’s best seasons came with Philadelphia, but he received a standing ovation Sunday in his final regular-season home game at Dodger Stadium. The NL West-leading Dodgers have a good chance to reach the postseason, but it’s hard to say what Utley’s role would be. He has only 28 at-bats since the All-Star break.Elsewhere around the majors:COSTLY SLIDEYankees shortstop Didi Gregorius scored the run that clinched a postseason spot Saturday, but that headfirst slide left him with torn cartilage in his right wrist. His status is now uncertain for the AL wild-card game Oct. 3.New York will likely face Oakland in that game in what would be a renewal of a postseason rivalry that included Division Series meetings in 2000 and 2001. Both those series went the full five games, with the Yankees prevailing. New York also swept Oakland 3-0 in the 1981 AL Championship Series.HIGHLIGHTIt all went terribly wrong for Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Michael Feliz in the sixth inning Sunday against Milwaukee. Shohei Ohtani won’t get a chance to experience the playoffs in his first major league season, but he’s putting himself into solid contention for a big-time postseason award.Ohtani, who began the season as a pitcher and designated hitter before elbow problems limited him to offensive duties for most of the past two months Gaylord Perry Jersey , has been stacking up exceptional numbers at the plate over the past six weeks and making a case for American League rookie of the year honors. He’ll try to maintain his hot hand Tuesday night against the Texas Rangers at Angel Stadium.Article continues below ...Ohtani earned his second AL player of the week honor on Monday after going 9-for-19 with four home runs, a double, a triple and 10 RBIs in five games last week.“I feel like I’m progressing as a hitter right now, so I’m trying to gain as many experiences as I can while the games count,” Ohtani told the Orange County Register on Friday. He extended his hitting streak to eight games with a single and double in the series opener on Monday night, scoring a run and driving in another in the 5-2 loss to the Rangers, which snapped a four-game winning streak for the Angels (71-73).Ohtani is hitting .373 in his past 29 games with 10 home runs, five doubles, 29 RBIs and 23 runs scored http://www.giantsfanproshop.com/authentic-dave-dravecky-jersey , raising his average from .267 to .294 in that span.Overall, the Japanese star has 19 homers and 54 RBIs in 86 games. The Rangers (62-82) meanwhile have been receiving solid play from rookie first baseman Ronald Guzman. He came into Monday’s game with one hit in his past 12 at-bats, then hit a two-run homer in the second inning that gave the Rangers a 4-0 lead. It was Guzman’s 15th home run of the season.Last month, Guzman became the first Texas rookie to hit three home runs in a game, and he’s also hit a grand slam this summer. The Rangers are 10-3 when Guzman homers.Rangers left-fielder Joey Gallo delivered a two-run double in the second inning on Monday and a run-scoring single in the eighth to raise his RBI total to a career-high 85. Sinus infection or sinusitis is inflammation of the sinuses. Sinuses are the hollow cavities in the bones around the nose. When these sinuses get inflamed because of some viral or fungal infection Deryk Engelland Jersey , it results in blockage of air or mucus inside, which causes lot of pain and discomfort, often known as a sinus attack. Sinus infections are very common and millions of people are attacked each year. There are three kinds of sinus attacks: acute, chronic, and recurring. Acute sinus attacks are severe and last for around three weeks. Chronic attacks are more severe and last for three to eight weeks or more. Recurring sinus infections, on the other hand, are those that frequently appear over a period of time. Medication is given according to the kind of attack. Chronic sinus infections need prolonged treatment, whereas normal sinus infections can be treated with over-the-counter drugs. There are many home remedies for treating sinus infections. Though these remedies may not provide any lasting cure, they definitely give some relief. Some common home remedies are: steam inhalation, hot or a cold compress over the inflamed area, a decoction of mustard seed powder and water instilled in the nostrils, consumption of jalapeno peppers, consumption of the juice of ripe grapes, application of a paste of cinnamon and water on the forehead, application of a paste of ginger and watermilk on the forehead, application of a paste of basil leaves, cloves and dried ginger on the forehead, inhalation of steam from eucalyptus oil, warm tea, and so on.Medication also depends on the actual cause of the sinus infection. Sometimes, sinus infections are a result of some other ailments like asthma, allergic rhinitis, allergies to fungi, primary immune deficiency, HIV infection, cystic fibrosis and others. These infections have to be treated before treating the sinusitis itself. Medication for sinusitis usually involves a decongestant to clear the sinuses, an antibiotic to fight the infection, and a pain killer. Decongestant can be in the form of tablet or nasal spray. Some chronic cases can be treated using steroids like prednisone. However, steroids are not generally preferred because of the possible side effects. Acute or chronic sinus infections may require prolonged therapies like saline nasal rinses, topicaloral decongestants, antihistamines, mucolytic agents, and intranasal corticosteroids. Sinus infections that cannot be cured by medication require surgery. Functional endoscopic sinus surgery is a common surgery for enlarging the sinus openings and allowing drainage.
