The Los Angeles Chargers have made another roster move today to bring in a fresh pair of legs to the stable of RBs.The Chargers only had 2 RBs that were healthy and active last week Customized Los Angeles Chargers Jerseys , Melvin Gordon and Detrez Newsome. Russell Hansbrough, Austin Ekeler, and Justin Jackson were all inactive with injuries. While Ekeler has returned to practice, Justin Jackson is still hurt and not practicing. The team decided they need to bring in another set of legs in case Hansbrough and/or can’t go this weekend, and that set of legs is Terrell Watson. Watson has experience both running the ball and as a kick returner. He also has a unique story. Because I don’t know if I am.I really wish that both teams were able to come into this game with unblemished records. That definitely would have pushed the stakes to an even higher level. Unfortunately, the Chargers come in at 1-1 and are officially a full touchdown underdog to the red-hot Rams.I recently made an appearance on the radio out in San Diego during the Mark and Rich Show on XTRA 1360. These are always very short bits and I only get asked a few questions whenever I’m on. Cornerbacks Aqib Talib and Marcus Peterson, safety Lamarcus Joyner, defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh and — oh right Casey Hayward Jersey , arguably the best player in the NFL regardless of position, Aaron flippin’ Donald.In terms of star-power, alone, this looks like the best defense in the NFL. However, there is one area in which the Rams lack consistent play: the linebackers.When we juxtapose the Chargers’ offense with the Rams’ defense, the area where the Chargers excel fits nicely where the Rams have shortcomings.I believe if the Chargers hope to consistently move the ball down the field against that stacked defense, Philip Rivers will have to utilize the athleticism of Gordon and Ekeler in mismatches, especially in the redzone http://www.chargerscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-darius-philon-jersey , which he has shown a propensity for so far this season.2.) In the season opener, Gurley looked like his usual self. He got a hefty 20 carries and turned them into 108 yards while catching three passes for 39 yards and a score.In last week’s match-up against the Arizona Cardinals. Gurley received another 19 carries, but only found enough running room to turn it into 42 rushing yards. The silver-lining Desmond King Jersey , though? He still scored three touchdowns on the ground.Luckily for the Chargers, although the defense has been far from stout in between the 20’s, they’ve always shown a knack for buckling down when they feel the shadow of their end zone against their backs.3.) Can Philip Rivers overcome his demons when he faces off against former-AFC West cornerbacks Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters?In Peters’ last three games against the Chargers as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs, he picked off Rivers four times dating back to the end of the 2016 regular season.Talib, on the other hand, hasn’t intercepted a Philip Rivers pass in years but he was a part of the vaunted “No Fly Zone” in Denver that gave the entire NFL fits for a number of years. If I remember correctly, Rivers had a hard time just getting to the 200 yard passing mark anytime he faced the Broncos.So the theme is simple here. Rivers is about to face a pair of players that he hasn’t found success against in quite some time.Will Rivers be able to overcome the presence of these two defenders and show the city of Los Angeles that he’s not going to be haunted anymore by the ghosts of his past?

Roster Watch:spot Craig Mager is like a cockroach that just won’t die. You can bench him Color Rush Joey Bosa Jersey , banish him to the practice squad, even give his job to an undrafted free agent, and he just won’t go away. And, to the dismay of many, it seems Mager is poised to last at least another season with the Los Angeles Chargers.Yes, you read that right. With two weeks remaining in the preseason, and the week three “dress rehearsal” looming this weekend, the team continues to give every indication that Craig Mager has a virtual vice grip on what figures to be the fifth and final spot on the cornerback depth chart.As excited as the fans were about undrafted free agents Brandon Facyson and Tony Brown entering camp Color Rush Keenan Allen Jersey , the coaches have been even more excited about the perceived new-and-improved Craig Mager. They have repeatedly praised him for the way he handled his demotion to the practice squad in 2017, and Ron Milus, Gus Bradley and Philip Rivers have all praised his improved attitude and technique. You might say they’ve been effusive in their praise.They’re all but telling us he’s going to make the cut, folks.And, while I don’t remember Mager so much as being targeted in either preseason game, that probably only helps his case. I mean, as bad as he’s been in the past; it’s hard for him to do anything to hurt his cause if teams don’t challenge him. This is particularly true if the coaching staff is actively looking for a reason to carry him.What’s more, if the preseason rotations in the defensive backfield are any indication Youth Russell Okung Jersey , Facyson and Brown aren’t really even nipping at Mager’s heels for that fifth spot on the depth chart, either.It looks to me like Jeff Richards, who spent all of last season on the Chargers practice squad, is currently the sixth corner on the depth chart, and might also be the only player with a chance to unseat Mager. Richards has played every snap with the second team through two preseason games and hasn’t really done anything to help or hurt himself.Granted, Brandon Facyson played opposite Richards in Arizona, and had a pretty good game in doing so, but he was promptly shuttled back to the third team when Hayward returned against Seattle. While Tony Brown has functioned as Des King’s primary backup at slot corner in both games Youth Dan Feeney Jersey , I’m just not sure he’s done enough on defense or on special teams to overcome the deep ball he yielded against the Cardinals.What does all this mean? But for all you Facyson and Brown fans, it likely also means they’re competing with Jeff Richards for what figures to be no more than two practice squad spots. Last year’s AFC West division champion is currently riding an 8-game winning streak against Philip Rivers and co. This is a new year and new teams on both sides, however.The Chargers have finally constructed an offensive line that can be expected to both protect Rivers and open up holes in the running game. The defense while missing Joey Bosa has received an infusion of athleticism in the form of Kyzir White and Derwin James. Double Down: Two big things to watch on offense for the Colts vs Ravense things against the Seattle Seahawks Youth Braden Smith Jersey , but now it’s time for round two of the preseason and the unit needs to take that next step forward.Here’s what Colt fans need to be observing when they take the field against the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night. Eight or more yardsAndrew Luck has mastered Frank Reich’s offense when it comes to short and immediate throws. That’s an important aspect for the offense, because Luck has had a tendency to hold on to the ball and force the issue at times. While it’s nice to see Luck get rid of the ball instead of taking hits, we need to see Luck and the receivers make plays down the field — instead of just checking it down or throwing a five-yard out route. The biggest thing was just seeing Luck able to throw a football in a live setting once again. “I had fun. I really, really enjoyed my time. I think the team had fun,” Luck said after the first preseason game against the Seahawks. “We’re not blowing it out of proportion. We understand that it was a preseason game. It was a chance to get better, and I think we improved.“Personally, I could’ve been a little crisper on some stuff with some footwork and throws, but that’ll come. That’s part of the work,” Luck added. Luck is still working on getting comfortable in the pocket with opposing defenses rushing after him on each drop back. When Luck starts to feel more comfortable, and get back into more playing shape, Reich will unleash the beast down the sideline we are used to seeing. But with comfortability still a work in progress, Luck is still developing a rapport with receivers not named T.Y. Hilton or Jack Doyle, it is important this continues to happen, especially with Eric Ebron http://www.authenticsindianapoliscolts.com/cheap-jabaal-sheard-jersey , Ryan Grant and Chester Rogers — who seem to be the next viable options with the ACL injury to Deon Cain. Coin flip, or flips, for Right TackleThe protection of Andrew Luck was the No. 1 goal in the offseason for Chris Ballard, drafting Quenton Nelson and Braden Smith, while signing Austin Howard and Matt Slauson. The left tackle, left and right guard, and center position is set in stone with Nelson, Slauson, Anthony Castonzo, and Ryan Kelly. That means one spot is still up in the air. The Colts opened with Joe Haeg at left tackle and J’Marcus Webb at right tackle against Seahawks, but Haeg struggled mightily and gave up a sack. That prompted Reich to move Webb to the left side while experimenting with Howard and Smith throughout camp. There’s no clear leader as of yet, and hopefully that will change against the Ravens. Reich likes the experience on Howard’s end, and Smith brings a lot of raw potential to the table. Monday’s game is a chance for one of those tackles to take a step forward, because protecting Luck is the ultimate goal. “We really like what Austin brings to the table but we’ve said right from the very start it’s open competition White Joe Haeg Jersey ,” Reich said. “The best guy will start. So, we have been rotating those guys through there. And each guy has had a lot of good moments. The Indianapolis Colts made the trip into Gillette Stadium Thursday night knowing that they weren’t anywhere near 100 percent. The defense’s best player — and league’s leading tackler— Darius Leonard being a no-go put an instant dent in the abilities of the team. Anthony Castonzo is still a week or so away Youth Braden Smith Jersey , and his offensive colleagues T.Y. Hilton and Jack Doyle were also inactive for Week 5.Now, when you figure in all of the in-game injuries that this one churned out, the fact that the team was able to give themselves a puncher’s chance at any point in this game was quite impressive. After the 38-24 loss, resulting in a fall to 1-4 on the season, the Colts desperately need the extra few day’s rest before they again travel to the east coast to play the New York Jets in Week 6.In the meantime, here are the game balls for those who stepped up for the Colts Thursday night.OFFENSEAndrew LuckMan, if there is a guy who has rolled his eyes at the national media through his performances the last two weeks, it’s Andrew Luck. Luck, again, topped 50 pass attempts for a third time this season and was phenomenal with his accuracy. Going downfield was a focus http://www.authenticsindianapoliscolts.com/cheap-jabaal-sheard-jersey , but with so many drops the numbers won’t lend that to the narrative. Luck threw 3 touchdowns along with 2 interceptions on the night — one resulting from a drop — and considering the lack of playmakers around him, I don’t know how you could be anything other than mesmerized by his play.Well over 350 yards in back-to-back games, and the pinpoint accuracy he showed in 2016 were just a couple major factors in his getting my game ball. His massive improvement in resetting his feet, moving through to second and third progressions and his improved navigation of the pocket are just icing on the cake for me. Luck is throwing a lot more than anyone would like him to have to right now, but let’s face it, a lot of things have to go right for the Colts to be in position to win a game when Luck isn’t throwing at least 40 times. The team simply isn’t there yet. Though i’m sure many tuned out last night because of the score, i’m just as certain that many stayed put just to continue watching Luck persevere and dice up the Patriots’ defense.Eric Ebron is getting an honorable mention for his 9-catch, 105-yard performance that netted 2 of Luck’s touchdown throws. Ebron continues to be a nice weapon for Luck and this offense, and he was on the receiving end of some big throws that helped move the chains throughout the night as well.DEFENSEMatthias FarleyWith Leonard, Kenny Moore and Nate Hairston out Thursday night White Joe Haeg Jersey , the secondary was in a bad way against the Patriots. Anthony Walker and Clayton Geathers going down during the game made that situation even worse.This is ‘home’ for Matthias Farley, though. The Colts No. 3 safety is very involved in the rotation in the secondary and has been one of the better Colts defenders over the past two seasons. Farley was actually able to put it on the stat sheet Thursday night. He picked off a tipped ball and nearly had the lane to return it for a touchdown, and later laid the hit on Rob Gronkowski that forced a Najee Goode interception as the Patriots looked to be driving towards another score. He finished with 6 total tackles and would have been a key part in a full comeback had the Colts not given the ball back themselves afterwards.With Geathers suffering a pretty significant hit to the neck — which had been a major cause for concern in relation to his future — and suffering a concussion as well, we may be seeing a lot more of Farley in the starting lineup.Lenzy Pipkins earns the honorable mention tag for the defense today. He’s been up and down the Colts roster all season so far and stepped up with a physical presence (9 tackles) in the secondary with Nate Hairston and Kenny Moore sidelined from injuries in Week 4.OTHERColts offensive lineNearly 60 dropbacks Thursday night, and the only sack the Patriots got was on the first series of the game. The Colts have had to use rookie Braden Smith, Joe Haeg, Le’Raven Clark, Denzelle Good and J’Marcus Webb (no longer on the roster) at tackle with Castonzo being out and the Austin Howard experiment failing before the season even started.Luckily, the Colts interior has been largely free of any lingering injuries and have been doing a really nice job in anchoring this offensive line so far. Listen: the Colts have 1 game — I said 1 — in which they’ve allowed more than 2 sacks this year. Of course he’s been hit a fair amount, but performances like Thursday night are not of the norm for a Colts offensive line.Luck is currently being sacked at a rate of once every 24.5 attempts and is allowing for him to do what he does best. When you take that versus the once every 17 attempts that he’s had to endure throughout his career previous to the 2018 season White Chester Rogers Jersey , it’s impossible not to take notice. The group has stepped up big time if you ask me. With the revolving door at tackle, consideration to the defensive fronts they’ve had to battle, and the assist that the coaching staff is lending them with chip blocks and pulling different linemen, the product this year is much more palatable.Colts reportedly inquire about Khalil Mack’s availability According to Jason La Canfora, while on an Oakland radio show and in an interview with CBS sports HQ, the Colts are one of three teams, including the Bills and Jets, to reach out to the Oakland Raiders to inquire the availability of All-Pro pass rusher Khalil Mack. On CBS Sports HQ, La Canfora mentions the Colts being interested in Mack around the 1:45 mark in the video. Additionally, the Colts have already done their due diligence on how adding Mack would affect them from a salary cap and what potential compensation they’d be willing to give up.Of course White Matt Slauson Jersey , take this with a grain of salt as La Canfora tends to be wrong when it comes to the Colts. However, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Colts GM Chris Ballard reach out about acquiring top-tier talent. It’s hard to prove either side when you have a debate like this. Times change, teams change, rules change, but time is so important that it must be said once more that times change. We can never truly compare person A to person B because we can’t simulate the exact same environment for both experiments. People try to compare though, and they do so in clever ways. People look at common denominators like their home records, road records, and records during certain stretch of time like their first 16 games for example. As we’re looking at 100% of Dak Prescott’s body of work here it’s really not fair to compare him to all of Romo’s because that one is larger.Let’s take a look at Dak Prescott versus the final version of Tony RomoESPN’s Mike Sando did something a bit interesting on Tuesday night and compared all of 37 of Prescott’s starts so far to Romo’s final 37 ones. Give it a gander for yourself.Romo’s final 37 starts begins with the December 16th, 2012 game where he helped propel the Cowboys to an overtime win over the Pittsburgh Steelers (the Brandon Carr interception). It encompasses the final three games of that season, 15 games in 2013, 15 games in 2014 (what is agreed to be his finest season), and the four games he started in 2015 (although he didn’t finish two of them). The run-heavy mindset was developed over the course of Romo’s career whereas Dak was born in it. The offensive focus throughout Prescott’s entire tenure has been Ezekiel Elliott save for the six-game stretch when he was suspended in 2017.What’s most important to note here is that Dak Prescott is equal in the number that matters - wins. Winning is the name of the game in football and if you do that then everything else is all the more forgivable. This is partly why Dak has been under such scrutiny as of late... because the Cowboys aren’t winning.It’s an interesting debate and it always will beObviously Prescott got off to an insane start for his Cowboys career with 13 wins as a rookie. That’s almost a third of the wins he has at this point, and he’s only five games into his third season. What Romo did throughout his career will always be criminally underrated, but the reality is that we may romanticize it a bit when we look back and only remember the good.Prescott has an opportunity to change the narrative this Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. If he’s able to have success against the ferocious defense that they have, including the player in Jalen Ramsey that the Cowboys selected Zeke over, people will inch their way closer to him. In the upset of the century, Dallas chose to defer and play defense first. Neither of their first possessions in each half yielded any points, but it’s the principle that matters. Hopefully we get more of this moving forward. Winner: Leighton Vander Esch and the fact that the Cowboys drafted himYou could make a legitimate argument that rookie linebacker Leighton Vander Esch was the best player on the Cowboys through the first half of Sunday’s win. Other players would step up, but LVE helped limit how much the Lions were able to run the ball. Vander Esch did more than stop the run. He mitigated the fact that the Cowboys did not have Sean Lee on the field, and that’s something that hasn’t been able to have been said in quite some time. He was huge. There’s no doubt that LVE’s presence in the middle of the defense kept momentum up. Many doubted this pick when the Cowboys made it in the very stadium that Vander Esch played in, but it paid dividends against the Lions.Winner: Ezekiel Elliott screen passes + Ezekiel Elliott deep bombPutting the ball in Ezekiel Elliott’s hands is a very good idea. See?Zeke did more than score this touchdown. Dak Prescott found him near the end of the game for a 34-yard gain that helped put the Cowboys in field goal range where they’d win the game. Lewis showed a lot of promise his rookie season and has been relegated mostly to the bench through the season’s first quarter. Lewis did get in the game early, and Detroit Lions wide receiver Golden Tate was quite happy about it. He beat him pretty good on the play.Not a great way to get back on the field. Loser: The ability to fully end a drive, sometimesThe Cowboys put together an amazing drive near the end of the fourth quarter, in fact they consumed over half of the period on it. They were only able to squeak out three points, unfortunately.Had the Cowboys lost, this would have been where they did it. Detroit was able to go down and score an answering touchdown rather quickly, giving them a one-point lead. Thankfully the Cowboys rallied and got Brett Maher into range, but this is still an issue.Dallas appears to lack the ability to fully end a game, that’s what a touchdown would have done right there. They need to find that gear within themselves because they won’t always be able to snatch victory out of the jaws of defeat like that. Loser: Anxiousness when it comes to challengesJason Garrett won his first challenge of the season early on in this game, but he got a little happy with the whole process of it all and challenged for a second time shortly after.Had Garrett won the second challenge like he did the first it really wouldn’t have mattered as the Cowboys would have netted a bonus third, but that wasn’t the case. Jason Garrett lost his second challenge on a catch that, sure, was up for debate, but you have to sense the variables in moments like this.This is said in total truth and zero jest Youth Taco Charlton Jersey , challenging a catch in the NFL is a very difficult thing to do these days. The Titans!Enjoy the second victory of the season, it was well-earned. The last week has been a bit rough with the Cowboys as things seemed to hit a lower low than they had in quite some time. That won’t be the case this week as the Cowboys are winners once again.Onto Houston.Report: Randy Gregory had relapse in August, could face discipline from NFL as soon as this week The regular season kicks off for the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, and when it does they’ll have defensive end Randy Gregory at their disposal for the first time in quite a while.Could Sunday be the last we see of Gregory for some time, potentially ever? Those thoughts are definitely starting to creep into place as ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Sunday morning that Gregory relapsed in August and that the NFL could discipline him as early as this week.Right before the Cowboys’ third preseason game against the Cardinals came to a close, a report surfaced that more trouble “could be ahead” for Gregory, and it would stand to reason that this is the aforementioned potential trouble. Randy has done an immense amount of work to get back to the playing field, but a relapse would obviously have the potential to derail all of it.Perhaps the initial report was correct in the wording though, specifically in the world “could.” Schefter notes that the NFL, surprisingly, has become more tolerant of drug violations, especially among players who have dealt with addiction issues as Gregory has noted he has.We’ll keep a watchful eye on this situation as next week unfolds. SummaryOpening week saw the division split their four games, with no head-to-head matchups. Washington looked the most impressive, scoring a convincing 24-6 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. Each of the rest of the teams in the division found themselves in ugly, defensive battles where the teams looked like they were shaking the rust off a long offseason. The most significant thing about the above table is that Philadelphia and Washington won their games while Dallas and New York lost theirs. It’s been noted by some that early games in the NFL’s regular season now serve as preseason for many teams, with players getting their first exposure to real NFL action. Thus, results are very important (after all, there’s only sixteen games in a season) but performances shouldn’t be given too much weight. Similarly Youth Joe Looney Jersey , statistics and rankings mean little at this time of year but still, they’re fun to check out:Offensively we see Dallas, New York and Philadelphia really struggled to move the ball (each ranking in the bottom ten of the league).Washington, however, put up over 400 yards against the Cardinals. All four teams had good defensive games. Only the Giants surrendered more than 300 yards and the teams, on average, gave up only 278 yards. All four teams currently rank in the top eight in terms of yards given up and in the top eleven in points surrendered. It will be interesting to see if the division can keep up these impressive defensive numbers. Team statusDallas CowboysThe Cowboys were very bad offensively on opening weekend and that has been analyzed to no end. However, the defense was quite good, recording three sacks, forcing a turnover and holding the Panthers to 16 points and 293 yards. Were it not for the team’s inability to reign in Cam Newton’s running in the first half those numbers would have been even better. The troubles on offense were numerous: the offensive line broke down several times and committed multiple penalties. Ezekiel Elliott didn’t show the elite vision he usually displays. And Dak Prescott simply had a horrific game. We’ll see if that improves moving forward. The team has some injury issues heading into the Giants game. Randy Gregory suffered a concussion in the team’s opener and did not participate in Wednesday’s practice. Nor did Demarcus Lawrence, Xavier Woods or Datone Jones. Lawrence is expected to play but Woods and Travis Frederick are expected to be absent. It’s disappointing we didn’t get to see Lawrence and Gregory together much against the Panthers; hopefully we’ll see them together Sunday.New York GiantsThe Giants and Cowboys face an early season “must win” in that teams that start 0-2 have only a 11% of making the playoffs. So Sunday’s outcome will largely shape both team’s future. The Giants didn’t look much different than the Cowboys Sunday. They did put up 100 more yards than the Cowboys on offense, but Ereck Flowers looked absolutely horrible at right tackle and http://www.cowboyscheapauthenticstore.com/geoff-swaim-jersey-cheap , as a reward, gets to face All-Pro Demarcus Lawrence Sunday. Eli Manning, who finished 2017 as the 25th ranked quarterback in the NFL, started 2018 as the 20th ranked quarterback. His days as a top ten QB are long behind him. But he does have good targets to throw too with Odell Beckham, Jr back joining Sterling Shephard and Evan Engram. Engram, however, had one official drop Sunday and two more that were negated by penalty. This after he finished 2017 with the most drops of any tight end in the league (eleven). The Giants offense suffered many of the same struggles that plagued the Cowboys. They were four of thirteen on third down (31%) and had five offensive penalties that stalled five different drives. Of course, the most exciting element of the Giants’ offense was Saquan Barkley’s eye-popping 68-yard touchdown run, where he looked every bit as advertised. Beyond that run, however, Barkley was largely held in check, averaging barely two yards per carry on his other 17 attempts. Defensively it’s hard to know what the Giants have. Cornerback Eli Apple had a tremendous game Sunday, looking a lot more like the impressive rookie from 2016 and not like the disinterested, chaotic second-year player from 2017. If Apple can return to form Cheap Tyron Smith Jersey , he makes an imposing tandem combined with Landon Collins. Outside linebacker Olivier Vernon was expected to return to action this week but was only “out there” at Wednesday’s practice, riding a bicycle and not participating in on-field activity. His absence Sunday would be a big blow to the team’s defense. The only other noteworthy name on the “did not participate” list was Shephard but he’s expected to play Sunday. Philadelphia EaglesHonestly, the Eagles didn’t play any better than the Cowboys in week one. But much more importantly, they managed a win despite not playing well.That’s money in the bank and at the end of the year no one will remember that the Eagles looked completely inept on offense throughout most of the game. In fact, they gained the exact same number of yards as the Cowboys. The Eagles continue to struggle with ongoing injury concerns. Carson Wentz and Alshon Jeffrey both returned to practice Wednesday but neither is expected to play Sunday. This means Nick Foles will again be the team’s starting quarterback. The clock apparently struck midnight on Foles as he returned to being a (far) below average quarterback in the team’s opening week victory after playing like, well, a Super Bowl MVP during the team’s unlikely championship run last year. Coaching “genius” Doug Pederson’s schemes couldn’t overcome Foles’ ineffectiveness and the Eagles looked like an ordinary team against the Falcons. Next week, however, they get to face a Buccaneers team that just surrendered 40 points and 475 yards against the Saints in a surprising 48-40 victory. This should be a good indicator if the problems that plagued the Eagles’ offense in week one might linger longer into the season. Washington RedskinsEveryone who had the Redskins with the best showing of any NFC East team in week one raise their hands.No one? No? Yeah, me either. The Redskins put a pure beat-down on the Cardinals. The 24-6 final wasn’t nearly as close as the score indicated. The Redskins basically did whatever they wanted. Late pickup Adrian Peterson looked vintage, running for 96 yards and catching two passes for another 70 yards while reaching the end zone once. Zillion-dollar quarterback Alex Smith compiled an 118 passer rating in very efficient fashion, throwing for 255 yards and two touchdowns on only 30 attempts. It was the kind of offensive performance Redskins’ fans haven’t seen too often over the last... oh... 25 years. But let’s be honest. They were playing an obviously rebuilding Arizona team that wasn’t expected to do to much this season. Still, you have to play the team on the schedule and the Redskins took care of business in very impressive fashion. Next up is an Indianapolis squad that looks much more competent than the Cardinals.
