The Green Bay Packers currently hold a record of 2-1-1 www.packerscheapstore.com , sitting in second place in the NFC North and trailing the Chicago Bears by a half-game. That tie could very well come back to be a problem for someone at the end of the season, but for now Green Bay is just hoping to match Chicago in the win column. On deck for the Packers is a divisional game in Detroit, where Matthew Stafford and a talented group of receivers await. Green Bay’s receiving corps is dealing with injuries to every veteran player, however, so Aaron Rodgers will likely be throwing to the team’s rookie wideouts early and often on Sunday.Still, APC is confident in the Packers’ ability to defeat the 1-3 Lions, and it’s a clean sweep for our contributors in this week’s picks.Week 5 PicksGameTexJasonPeterKrisBobJon MJordanMatubMikePaulShawnWendiZachAPC PickGameTexJasonPeterKrisBobJon MJordanMatubMikePaulShawnWendiZachAPC PickNow to our standings update. Matub had a stellar week in week 4, going 12-3 and leading the pack with a few individuals finishing at 11-4. That now pulls him into a tie with Jon Meerdink Green Bay Packers T-Shirt , who went 10-5 last week to keep his overall hit rate steady at 0.667. Jason’s 9-6 record in week 4 leaves him one game back overall in third place.FanPulse Game PicksAPC FanPulse Pick: Packers win by 7Pride of Detroit FanPulse Pick: Packers win by 2Vegas point spread: Packers favored by 1.5Both Packers and Lions fans are seeing a Green Bay win this week at Ford Field as well. Predictably, Green Bay fans think the Packers will win by a bigger margin than Detroit fans, with the difference being about five points when comparing the two. Both look at the Packers as a good bet to beat the point spread, with Lions fans coming in just over the spread on average.Packers Training Camp 2018: Practice updates & discussion for August 7 We are just a few days away from the Green Bay Packers’ preseason opener, but before that we have one last open training camp practice today as the team and fans prepare for the first game of 2018. Although that game takes place on Thursday evening with the Tennessee Titans coming to town, it’s time for one more set of bike rides this morning. On Monday, the Green Bay Packers got safety Kentrell Brice back on the field briefly, a boost for the thin safety group. However Green Bay Packers Hats , Brice only made it a few plays before being pulled off the field from team drills. In addition, a pair of young cornerbacks — Kevin King and Jaire Alexander — missed Monday’s practice with shoulder and groin injuries, respectively. This makes the secondary an area to watch closely both in practice today and on Thursday in the preseason opener. Also worth monitoring is the status of defensive lineman Mike Daniels. After suffering an injury early last week, Daniels returned for one practice on Friday but has not participated since then. Granted, he was unlikely to play on Thursday anyway, but seeing him return to the field would be a welcome sight today.Keep an eye on those injuries this afternoon below as you follow along with the results of practice.Practice Updates from Packers MediaTweets from https://twitter.com/TexWestern/lists/packers-news

The bye week is coming up next, so all of these guys will get extra time to rest and recover before facing the Saints in Week 10. As we all know by now www.ramsfootballauthentics.com , the Los Angeles Rams and Oakland Raiders are in lengthy contract extension disputes with their star players: DT Aaron Donald and DE Khalil Mack. That might be the only similarity between the situations as multiple reports have shared that the Rams and Donald are likely to reach a deal soon though nothing of the sorts can be said of the Raiders and Mack.Just recently, Charles Robinson of Yahoo! Sports reported that the Mack holdout is likely to spill into the regular season with him missing games:Here’s what Robinson had to say about the Rams and Donald situation:Interesting. The Rams and Raiders face off in Week 1 of the regular season at the Oakland Alameda Coliseum on Monday Night Football. The absence of the Raiders’ most dangerous defensive weapon will surely only help the Rams offense which has had no preseason reps together.Let the fun begin. The Seattle Seahawks' "Legion of Boom" blew up with Kam Chancellor's neck injury and Richard Sherman's exit. The Denver Broncos' "No Fly Zone" was grounded by Aqib Talib's trade and T.J. Ward's departure. Not so fast, insist the holdovers. These two teams may not have the star power in their respective secondaries that they've boasted in years past, but they still have formidable, youth-infused defensive backfields expected to play leading roles in 2018.When Talib was traded to the Rams this spring, he suggested the "No Fly Zone" no longer existed.Nonsense, retorted cornerback Chris Harris Jr."I started the 'No Fly Zone,' so it's going to always be here," said Harris, who has some new co-pilots in cornerbacks Tramaine Brock, Adam Jones and Isaac Yiadom backing up Talib's replacement, Bradley Roby.At safety, the Broncos had hoped to add some pop to go with Darian Stewart's heady play Los Angeles Rams T-Shirt , and they acquired Su'a Cravens from Washington. But he's on IR with a sore left knee, leaving Will Parks and Dymonte Thomas to step up.Behind Sherman's swagger, Seattle's secondary became a catchphrase across the NFL. The "Legion of Boom" was so well known the names of Sherman, Chancellor and Earl Thomas were always associated with that moniker. Not anymore.Sherman is now with division rival San Francisco. Chancellor's career is likely over after a neck injury suffered last season. Thomas is still around but he only returned to the team on Wednesday after a holdout that produced neither the contract extension nor the trade he hoped for.Broncos coach Vance Joseph doesn't see much difference on film, however."That defense is more of a culture than it is a certain player," Joseph said. "They play hard, they play fast and that's what coach (Pete) Carroll brought there five or six years ago. As I watch the tape this year, it's different names and numbers, but it's the same personalities. It's Seattle. It looks like Seattle."If Thomas plays Sunday, it will likely be on a limited "pitch count" as Carroll described it.Otherwise, Seattle's secondary features Shaquill Griffin and Dontae Johnson at cornerbacks, Bradley McDougald at strong safety and some combination of Thomas and Tedric Thompson at free safety. Not quite "Boom" worthy just yet.Griffin is on his way to being Seattle's next secondary star. He showed the skill last year as a rookie playing opposite Sherman and may eventually take over as the leader of the unit. Johnson was a starter last year in San Francisco, and McDougald may be one of Seattle's most versatile players with the ability to bounce between both strong safety and free safety."It's very reassuring Earl is back Los Angeles Rams Hats ," McDougald said. "I'm happy he's here and I'm ready to get to work."Other subplots as the Broncos try to extend the NFL's longest active winning streak in openers to seven:STATING HIS CASE: QB Case Keenum , trying to help the Broncos avoid their first back-to-back losing seasons since 1971-72, figures his Denver debut got a little bit harder with Thomas ending his holdout. He praised Thomas as one of the best safeties he's ever faced, insisted, "he can do some things on film that nobody else can do."That said, Keenum likes his teammates and his chances."I've got a lot of respect for 29," Keenum said. "But we trust our guys running routes and catching the ball versus anybody out there."SHAQUEM STARTS: Shaquill Griffin's twin brother, rookie linebacker Shaquem Griffin, is expected to start against the Broncos with K.J. Wright out following minor knee surgery. It's another chapter in the remarkable story of Griffin , who had his left hand amputated as a child. While Griffin is a superior athlete, he is undersized for the position and will be challenged both in the run game and trying to defend bigger tight ends Jeff Heuerman and Jake Butt.HONORING T.D.: Royce Freeman is set to become the first rookie running back to start Week 1 for the Broncos since Hall of Famer Terrell Davis in 1995. Fellow rookie and local hero Phillip Lindsay, who starred at the University of Colorado, got Davis' blessing to rock his No. 30 jersey ."As a running back Los Angeles Rams Womens Hoodie , it's special to be able to wear T.D.'s number," Lindsay said.COLORADO CONNECTION: Seahawks QB Russell Wilson was once a farmhand of the Colorado Rockies, who drafted him a day before his father died in 2010. "I'm very, very grateful for the Colorado Rockies organization and what they did for me and just gave me a chance and allowed me to take my mind off of my dad, who was my best friend. I'll never forget that," Wilson said. The New York Yankees now hold Wilson's baseball rights, and while he's got a great gig now, "I think I'd look pretty good in them, wearing the pinstripes," Wilson said. "When you put on a Yankee uniform, they say you become immortal."AP Sports Writer Tim Booth contributed.

The Chiefs have a chance to win their first home playoff game in more than 20 years. It won’t be easy though. The Chiefs are 4.5 point underdogs. Chad Henne is the starter. Mahomes took an unnecessary shot that resulted in a shoulder tear. He’ll miss whatever games the Chiefs might play in January. That wouldn’t be fun. If the Chiefs are going to avoid a situation like that, we need to continue to see this:The Chiefs are up 21-7 in the second quarter against the Steelers. It’s third-and-15. Mahomes scrambles out of the pocket and runs for a gain of 10. With players nearing him in pursuit, he slides, leading to an eventual punt. He could have pushed the limits to try and get that first down. He could have tried to make a statement that he had arrived, taken on a defender and played a little hero ball to try and get the first down.I think Mahomes is starting to understand the ramifications of him getting hurt. He put himself in harm’s way a little too much in LA. Last week, I talked about his need to protect himself. He was much improved in Pittsburgh. The season is effectively over if Mahomes ever gets hurt. Draft season will start much sooner. He needs to continue to be thoughtful about protecting himself at all times.Needs improvementI have a feeling this is going to be a talking point for a while.Mahomes wants to take a shot to Tyreek Hill off of play action. At the top of his drop, he hitches to deliver the throw but elects not to and hitches again. The second hitch led him into the back of Mitch Morse and the nose tackle he was blocking. Had Mahomes stopped on the first hitch, he had multiple options at his disposal that could’ve been positive plays. He could’ve hit the wide open Demetrius Harris in the middle of the field. He could’ve initiated scramble rules with his receivers by escaping to the immense amount of space he could have found to his right. He ran out of space to give one of those a chance.Mahomes was committed to the shot and used up his space to do it. He had viable options elsewhere, but wasn’t space efficient enough to realize them. He ate up his free space. This will understandably continue to be a theme throughout the season. He’s young and new at this. He hasn’t totally settled into his new home. Mahomes sometimes loses track of his confinement when he is forced to hang in the pocket. He can’t waste what room he has to work. He’s got the ball out so quick and on time in most instances that it hasn’t mattered. He’s been throwing a lot in rhythm and on time, which has been a lot of fun to watch. When he’s got to hang in there a little longer, the results have been more inconsistent. We’ll be monitoring this all season. He’s been very good in a lot of areas, but there remains a lot of room to grow with moments like these. He’s been fantastic and will continue to impress us. There’s more there to develop, and that should scare the league. The realization of Mahomes’ high ceiling will be found in the pocket. If he can become an assassin there, giving the structure of plays a chance as long as he can, he’ll be one of the best quarterbacks in football for a long time.
On the precipice of the start of the Green Bay Packers’ regular season on Sunday night against the Bears Green Bay Packers Hats , now seems as good a time as any to fire off some bold predictions. APC’s contributors got the hot takes and creative juices flowing for a bonus round of walkthroughs this week, in which we predict some big things for this year’s team.Paul Noonan: Rodgers throws over 50 touchdownsOnly Peyton Manning and Tom Brady have thrown for 50 touchdowns in a season since the merger, but Rodgers will join them this season as Philbin/McCArthy go extra pass-happy. The only thing that gives me pause is the quality of defenses in the division as stacking up passing touchdowns against the Vikings, and maybe the Bears will be difficult, but I still think he gets it done. Rodgers is essentially the greatest goal line passer in history, and with a new and better scheme, plus rookie deep threats, plus the fact that there just aren’t many running backs on the team, he’ll have an insane, MVP year.Peter Bukowski: The Packers post the No. 1 run defense in football The No. 8 run defense last season according to Football Outsiders adds Muhammad Wilkerson, an emerging Montravius Adams, and a defensive coordinator who knows what a modern defense ought to look like. Last season, the Packers also fell behind in basically every game it played with Brett Hundley, giving teams more opportunities to run on them. Still, they finished with an elite run unit. With Aaron Rodgers back and healthy this season, teams will have fewer opportunities to run with the lead and when they do, they’ll likely be doing it out of multiple receiver personnel as they try to outscore this Green Bay offense. One of the best run defending nickel teams in football last season will play a heavier nickel package this season with three traditional DL instead of two, a move that should make them even more stout in the run game. Add in additional growth from Kenny Clark, Dean Lowry and Blake Martinez and this front will be downright dominant with Nick Perry and Clay Matthews combining for one of the league’s elite run-defending edge duos. Evan “Tex” Western: Davante Adams eclipses 1 Green Bay Packers Womens Hoodie ,400 receiving yardsThe last time the Packers had a receiver over the 1,400-yard mark, Aaron Rodgers won the MVP award. The year was 2014, the receiver was Jordy Nelson, and the Packers should have ended up in the Super Bowl. This is a bold prediction for a few reasons. First, 1,400 yards is a big number -- only five times in team history has a player hit the number. (Interestingly, every one of those seasons also game with 12 or more touchdowns from the same player.) Second, only two players hit that mark a year ago: Antonio Brown and Julio Jones. Third, Adams’ career yards-per-catch mark sits at just 11.9, a far cry from the 14+ that is typically required to reach this lofty mark. Finally, there is the question of Adams’ past numbers. He caught 75 and 74 balls in 2016 and 2017. At 75 catches, Adams would need to average 18.7 yards per reception to hit 1,400 yards. That’s not realistic at all -- it is quite literally a Nelson number circa 2011, when he was the Packers’ primary deep threat. Adams does not have that blazing speed that Nelson possessed, but what he does have is exceptional route-running and after-the-catch ability. That should be enough to get him realistically into the 14-15 YPR range. At that point, you’re looking at something like 93-100 receptions to reach 1,400, a very doable amount.Looking back at Nelson’s 2014 again Womens Customized Green Bay Packers Jerseys , he had 151 targets and 98 receptions, gaining 1,519 yards thanks to a 15.5 YPR average. When he returned in 2016, Nelson essentially repeated his target share, catching 97 of 152 targets -- though his YPR dropped to 13.0. Those numbers clearly demonstrate that a Packers offense can support the number of targets required to give a #1 receiver like Adams enough opportunities to reach this mark.Like the Packers’ coaches and front office, I firmly believe that Adams is on the cusp of a truly explosive season that cements his status as one of the three or four best wideouts in the NFL. 1,400 yards should be a lofty, but achievable goal for him.Mike Vieth: The Packers defense will lead the league in interceptionsJust have a feeling that there is something special on the field with the defensive backs for the Packers this year. The young trio of Kevin King, Jaire Alexander and Josh Jackson are all ball hawks who have good size, speed and athleticism. These three already have the potential to be one of the best groups in the league this year and for years to come. The fact that they are being lead by Tramon Williams, who has been known to have those skills as well, gives off a feeling that the young guys are going to learn quick and apply their skills to the field. Davon House will also give a helping hand into coverage schemes and making plays. The old adage of the crafty veterans teaching the young guns all the tricks of the trade will definitely apply here. While the safeties have struggled in recent years, I believe Ha Ha Clinton-Dix will bounce back in a big way. He might even lead the group in interceptions this year. Mix that with the raw ability and potential of Josh Jones and Kentrell Brice and I think they will hold their own in the middle of the field. The new Mike Pettine defense will help these defensive backs like we haven’t seen in years. The front seven should be getting creative with pressures and force opposing quarterbacks into bad decisions. This will lead to a feeding frenzy for the secondary and I’m excited to see them make some big plays this year.Shawn Wagner: Jimmy Graham reaches the 1,000-yard mark for the first time since 2013While I do believe the full health of both Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams will lead to a great season for the blossoming receiver, I think Graham is in line for a big season of his own. In preseason against Pittsburgh, the Packers employed a high number of two-tight end sets which will get Graham on the field at a high rate. The early chemistry in that game between Rodgers and Graham was an excellent sign, as was his ability to work the red zone. While not the same athlete he was in his early years, Graham is still a mismatch nightmare with his size and ability to stretch the field. In the Packers’ offense, he can be the same versatile mismatch player that Jermichael Finley was www.packerscheapshoponline.com , being able to line up on the outside, in the slot, or in-line. What held Finley back from 1,000 yard seasons was injuries and a slew of playmakers at wide receiver. Graham has been a very healthy player over his career and almost becomes the number two outside receiving option with Jordy Nelson gone, Randall Cobb a better fit for snaps in the slot, and no truly proven third wide receiver. There will be plenty of opportunities for Graham to get targets and make an impact in Green Bay, and 2018 presents as good a chance as any for the former All-Pro to regain his luster.Jon Meerdink: Clay Matthews will reach 10 sacks for the first time since 2014Clay Matthews has in some ways been a victim of his own success. He was so consistently dominant through sheer athleticism and explosiveness that double-digit sacks became an expectation, though not entirely an unfair one.But then came the switch to inside linebacker and the general deterioration of the Packers defense, both of which hurt Matthews’ statistical output. He still got to the quarterback, but with a ravaged secondary it was almost impossible to get there quickly enough. With a rebuilt back end to the defense and a new coordinator at the helm that could use Matthews’ skill set to its full advantage, I think a return to double-digit sacks could be in the works. Pay no mind to the fact that only 24 players since 2000 have had double-digit sacks in a season at age 32 or older. Or maybe do pay it some mind. I don’t know. Look, this piece called for bold predictions and it would be fun to see Clay Matthews get like 14 sacks when the Bears just paid dearly for a pass rusher, okay?Cheese Curds, 9/10: Everybody’s talking about Aaron Rodgers’ performance 20 completions on 30 attempts for 286 yards and three touchdowns — that was the stat line for Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers on Sunday night. If you didn’t watch the game, you could be excused for thinking it was just another day at the office for Rodgers against the Bears. After all, in his last seven games against Chicago, Rodgers had three or more touchdown passes and no interceptions on five occasions. But Sunday night’s game was no ordinary Rodgers performance. After going to the locker room on a cart and making Packers fans fear the worst for about an hour, Rodgers returned in the second half and led a comeback the likes of which the franchise literally had never seen. In 99 years of football, the Packers were 0-107 when entering the fourth quarter down by 17 points or more. In the first game of their 100th season Green Bay Packers T-Shirt , Rodgers led them to victory in that situation. Also essential to the win was the big play of the Packers’ defense in the second half. They allowed just six points over the final 30 minutes; in fact, they allowed just six points over the final 44 minutes, as they forced three three-and-outs, including a fourth-down stop, in the second quarter as well.Let’s take a look back at that marvelous game with some curds.Packers' Aaron Rodgers wins battle of wills by overcoming knee injury | Packersnews.comWe may see a hobbled Rodgers until the bye week (at least), but if Mike McCarthy can help him get into a rhythm on quick passes the way he did on Sunday night, this team should still be okaymoving forward.Packers QB Aaron Rodgers confirms he’ll play next week vs. Vikings | Packers WireNo surprise there -- if he can get himself figured out in the locker room at halftime, I'm certain he'll be ready to go after a week of rehab and preparation.Nick Perry’s game-sealing sack completes defensive turnaround | Packers.comAfter the opening drive, which featured numerous unpredictable looks from the Bears offense, the Packers D allowed just three field goals as Mike Pettine's unit got some critical stops and some big three-and-outs during the Rodgers-led comeback.NFL Twitter reacts to Aaron Rodgers' comeback victory - NFL.comHere's a rundown of the reactions around the league to the Packers' ridiculous fourth-quarter comeback.NFL schedule and scores 2018: Results and highlights from Week 1 - SBNation.comWe also have a nice recap of the big moments from all of Sunday's games.Cops chase man with bolt cutters, pellet gun through Polo Park mall - Winnipeg Free PressThe Canadian suspect had an encounter with a clerk at the store, who saw the man running through the cosmetics department and asked him "is there anything, sir, I can help you with today?"
The Bengals had a host of key players sitting out on Wednesday.Among them was starting left guard Clint Boling Youth Customized Cincinnati Bengals Jerseys , who apparently has a knee issue that could compromise his availability. It is, however, possible that Boling’s issue is minor and this was more of a veteran’s rest day. The last thing this offensive line needs is its best player out for one of the biggest games of the season. Also missing Wednesday was running back Giovani Bernard, who is likely out this week as he recovers from an MCL injury expected to sideline him another 1-3 weeks. The good news is John Ross returned, though only as a limited participant. He was also limited last Wednesday before missing the next two days and was eventually declared inactive.Backup tight end Tyler Kroft is in a walking boot and riding a scooter, so he’s almost certainly out this week, which is why the Bengals signed Matt Lengel. As for the Steelers, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger www.bengalsauthorizedshops.com , cornerback Joe Haden and center Maurkice Pouncey got what were likely veteran’s rest days off on Wednesday.Starting safety Morgan Burnett was unable to go due to a groin injury. How the Bengals can exploit the Falcons’ depleted defense In recent years, the strength of the Atlanta Falcons defense has been their speed at linebacker and safety. When linebacker Deion Jones got hurt, it meant a larger role for second-year player Duke Riley and that rookie Foyesade Oluokun would see some time as well. This is a definite drop off in speed. With the injury to safety Keanu Neal, safety Ricardo Allen transitioned from a mostly deep field player, to Neal’s role rocked down into the box. Now, the Falcons have also lost Allen, leaving the safety duties to Damontae Kazee and Jordan Richards. This position has become a liability for the team. In Week 2, Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey had 14 receptions. In Week 3 Cincinnati Bengals Womens T-Shirt , Saints running back Alvin Kamara had 15 receptions. The lack of speed at linebacker and talent at safety could mean a big day for Bengals pass-catching running back Giovani Bernard in Week 4. It could also mean a great day for wide receivers running slants and posts. In the clip below, Saints tight end Ben Watson has no trouble releasing on Falcons rookie defensive back Isaiah Oliver, and Brees drops the ball in right over the head of Kazee. This is a position that Neal likely would have been in weeks earlier and his reaction and speed would have made it much more difficult. Here, Panthers rookie wide receiver D.J. Moore finds the void in the secondary created by the No. 3 receiver running vertical. This is good scheme that is seen week in a week out in the NFL. The real problem is what happens next. Both Riley and Richards fail to make the tackle, and the play results in a touchdown. Without the sure tackling Neal and Jones, the Falcons defense is vulnerable to yardage on runs after the catch. This is a simple checkdown to Kamara on first and 10. Riley’s angle hurts him, and Kamara is able to outrun him to the first-down marker. In this situation, Jones likely makes the play for a short gain and the Saints face second down. After catching the short pass Cincinnati Bengals Hats , Kamara squares up Kazee. Kamara makes a cut that causes Kazee to dive for his ankles and miss the tackle. In this situation, Neal may very well have made the play and prevented the first down. The injured trio of Falcons were also strong run defenders. In the clip below, Riley should make the play on McCaffrey but fails. Riley is not as strong of a tackler as Jones, and he is fortunate to get an assist from linebacker De’Vondre Campbell before McCaffrey got out into the open field. On this play, Riley is picked up by the pulling center and does not have a prayer. The center immediately kicks him out of the hole creating a large running lane for McCaffrey. Riley needs to anchor himself and take on the block with strength, holding his ground and fighting to disengage as the running back approaches. The Bengals can absolutely take advantage of the injuries the Falcons have suffered on defense. They should be able to get a lot of production out of Bernard as both a rusher and a receiver and work the middle of the field in the pass game with A.J. Green (if healthy) and company.
Derek Carr’s disastrous second half In their game against the Los Angeles Rams http://www.ramsfootballauthentics.com/todd-gurley-ii-jersey-authentic , three of the first five Oakland Raiders’ drives ended with points on the board. Five of the final six drives of the game ended with a punt or a turnover. So...what happened? There are plenty of reasons why the Raiders offense couldn’t keep up with the Rams. But one of the biggest reasons is Derek Carr. In the first half, Carr seemed sharp as ever. He completed eight of his first 10 passes and finished the first half going 21-27 and an interception. The second half was a steady decline, which saw Carr turn the ball over twice more after making some pretty bad throws. Under-throwing the ballThis is a reoccurring issue for Carr. Even when he has time, he has a tendency to whip the ball out of his hands, which usually leads the ball to the ground or near a defender’s hands. This was one of the three targets to WR Amari Cooper. He finished the game with one catch for nine yards. Carr had time and a wide open target as CB Marcus Peters was behind him. This was the second throw of the second half. Carr has the pressure coming, but his throw is not only under-thrown, but it’s way off-target. Again, Carr had another open man with a defender behind his receiver, but the pass is off-target. There was no immediate pressure to get the ball out. He had a solid pocket forming, but the throw was rushed. Differing reactions to oncoming pressureThere were times when Carr reacted prematurely to oncoming pressure and there were other times when he was immersed in a collapsing pocket and still made a throw before he was taken down. Take this throw for example. It’s hard to say what Carr saw from this angle Womens Greg Zuerlein Jersey , but he still had time to throw if he stepped into his pocket instead of remaining in the pathway of LB Samson Ebukam. A few throws later, he stays in the pocket and makes an off-balanced throw to the running back. Then two throws later, he whips a ball straight up in the zip code of where WR Jordy Nelson was to escape the little pressure he felt from the pass-rush. Not only did he have time in the pocket, he had his go-to target TE Jared Cook in front of him. Instead, he turns the ball over. Carr is a veteran quarterback, so his Monday Night performance was a head-scratcher especially after his two interceptions. The Peters interception was bad because 1.) Peters followed Carr’s eyes the entire play and 2.) the pass was off-target, which allowed Peters to just catch and score. I thought the pass-rush would have been much more of an imposing force than it was on Monday night. In the end, Carr beat himself.Los Angeles Rams vs. Los Angeles Chargers: Initial injury report has four Rams injured We knew that Los Angeles Rams K Greg Zuerlein was going to be on today’s initial injury report. The Chiefs host the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium. Here is the Chiefs’ final official injury report of the week:JaguarsSome notesDee Ford (groin) and Sammy Watkins (hamstring) both left Monday night’s game against the Denver Broncos early, and after limited practice all week, they are officially questionable to go against the Jaguars. It has now been 55 days since safety Eric Berry practiced or played. Asked if Berry would play this year, Andy Reid said: “Yes, we will see. We are taking it day by day, but yes. We will see how it goes.” He is once again doubtful this week.Armani Watts is questionable after appearing on the injury report Thursday due to a groin issue. He was listed to have practiced fully both Thursday and Friday. The Jaguars ruled out two players, running back Leonard Fournette and cornerback DJ Hayden, for Sunday at the beginning of this week. Cornerback Tre Herndon, a special-teamer for Jacksonville, popped up on the report Friday and is questionable.Eric Berry won’t practice Wednesday http://www.chiefscheapshoponline.com/cheap-authentic-cameron-erving-jersey , plus other injury updates As promised, Kansas City Chiefs head athletic trainer (VP of sports medicine and performance) Rick Burkholder provided an injury update regarding starting safety Eric Berry’s sore heel on Wednesday morning. The news was not optimal.“I know there has been a lot of questions about Eric Berry,” Burkholder said. “I know coach (Andy Reid) has said that it’s day to day. It is literally day to day. He won’t practice [Wednesday], but he’s spent a lot of time with us. He’s improving, he’s getting better every day and so we’ll continue with that process.”Berry has not practiced since August 11.The other major player of note was S Daniel Sorensen, who injured his knee in the preseason and is thus expected to miss regular-season time. Sorensen is currently on the Chiefs’ injured reserve list. “It was four weeks ago [Wednesday] that he had the surgery,” Burkholder said of Sorensen. “He’s been with us constantly doing pool work. Every day, he’s in. He’s going to meetings, all that. We won’t know anything for two more weeks before we study that, but he’s where he’s supposed to be right now. He’s working hard, so in a couple weeks Cheap Terrance Smith Jersey , we’ll give you an update on that.”Finally, Burkholder updated the media on wide receiver Byron Pringle (hamstring).“[Pringle] pulled his left hamstring,” Burkholder said. “When we did an MRI, we found that he had a left inguinal hernia, and that hernia needed immediate attention, so he had surgery [Tuesday] at the Kansas University Medical Center by Dr. John Alley, and so he’s got an extended recovery ahead of him for the hernia, and in the meantime the hamstring will also get attention, but the hamstring will clear up quicker than the hernia will, so he’s going to miss some time.”
On Sunday http://www.authenticsgreenbaypackers.com/cheap-blake-martinez-jersey , the Green Bay Packers make their first road trip of the regular season to take on Washington. Ken Meringolo of Hogs Haven was kind enough to answer some of our questions about Washington and provide insight into the team’s strengths and weaknesses.APC: Washington made one of the biggest personnel decisions of the 2018 offseason, acquiring veteran quarterback Alex Smith from the Chiefs and letting Kirk Cousins depart in free agency. While only two weeks of the regular season have passed, what do you see as the biggest positive change and most significant issue with that swap?APC: The plan for Washington’s offensive backfield changed multiple times this offseason, with second-round pick Derrius Guice tearing his ACL and Adrian Peterson joining the rotation. How has the running game looked thus far, and how do you expect Washington will divide the workload against the Packers?APC: Washington has gotten off to a strong start defensively, coming in fourth against the pass by DVOA and eighth overall. Are those rankings merely a reflection of the competition Washington has played (Cardinals and Colts), or is the defense going to carry the team this season?APC: If you were game planning against Washington this week, how would you attack the team on offense? On defense?APC: Finally, it’s prediction time. Which team wins on Sunday and why? We’d like to thank Ken and Hogs Haven for answering our questions. Be sure to check out our Q&A session over there, as well as their fantastic coverage of all things Washington. As always, keep your internet machines tuned to Acme Packing Company this Sunday for our comprehensive game-day coverage of Packers vs. Washington.Packers’ season-long penalty plague reached another low in Detroit Despite the many tactical and rule changes the game of football has seen since its inception, a common theme has prevailed in that the most disciplined team usually has the best chance of winning a football game. And on Sunday, the Green Bay Packers once again were not that team. One would have to go back to November 13, 2016 for the last time Green Bay was penalized 12 times in a single contest. Much like the Packers’ ugly 31-23 loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday Color Rush Lane Taylor Jersey , the game two years ago also resulted in a humiliating defeat, a final score of 47-25 at the hands of the Tennessee Titans. For the Packers of 2018, this was a new low in what has been a simply excruciating season filled with yellow pieces of cloth. Green Bay ranks just behind Pittsburgh and Kansas City for most penalties in the NFL in the early going with 43 total penalties for a whopping 413 total yards. But really, it was just two weeks ago that Green Bay was penalized 11 times on the road in Washington. While it has not been pretty regardless of location, the Packers’ first two road games have now resulted in a combined 23 flags for 227 yards.Rightly so, the Packers have been criticized for getting off to slow starts this season and struggling to close games on defense. But of the Packers 43 penalties in five games this season, 11 have been called in the first quarter and 20 in the fourth quarter. Those totals certainly are not a recipe for successfor starting and finishing a football game. At Detroit, Green Bay continued to struggle in those quarters, committing half of its penalties in those two 15-minute segments. The timing and impact of those penalties loomed notably large against the Lions. On Sunday, a staggering five penalties came from special teams. While Mason Crosby’s field goal woes provided the storyline on a gloomy day, the errors masked Green Bay’s slew of return penalties that ruined the field position battle and wiped out a long kickoff return from Ty Montgomery. Later, a roughing the kicker penalty from Kevin King on an extra point attempt played a pivotal role in a horrendous ensuing kickoff that saw the Packers start the drive from within their own 15-yard line. Putting the icing on the cake was an offsides penalty on the onside kick attempt in the closing seconds. Green Bay’s inability to consistently get three-and-outs on defense has been a disadvantage this season and special teams penalties only increased that struggle on Sunday.Speaking of defense, Green Bay did make a crucial third-down stand midway through the fourth quarter. But an impressive defensive pass breakup from Tony Brown was negated by Brown’s own taunting call that not only left the Packer defense on the field, but led to the Lions’ put-away scoring drive. That was just one of Green Bay’s hideous four penalties of the personal foul/unsportsmanlike conduct variety on Sunday. While not a personal foul Jaire Alexander Jersey , Aaron Rodgers also committed a 16-yard intentional grounding penalty in the second quarter as the team faced a game-changing third-and-goal situation. The distance would end up playing a significant role in a third missed Mason Crosby field goal. Although the offense limited its penalties to just three in the game, the Rodgers’ miscue proved costly. In the end, penalties, especially the 15-yard types, often come down to coaching. For the Packers, discipline-related penalties have been an ongoing struggle. During the 2016 season, Green Bay was second in the league with seven unsportsmanlike conduct penalties. While the Packers controversially lead the league in roughing the passer penalties this season with five, there have been several rightly called. It is alarming that such technical issues persist from season to season. In his post-game press conference, Head Coach Mike McCarthy alluded to the dissatisfaction with penalties and mental mistakes. “At the end of the day it’s about winning ball,” McCarthy said. “We didn’t do enough to win today. We’ll focus on the things that went wrong that we can control and we had too many of those today.”It is not time to hit the panic button yet, but another week cannot go by without McCarthy and his staff indeed focusing on the team’s penalty blues.
Bernard has frequently found himself as the second option on the Bengals running back depth chart Womens Customized Cincinnati Bengals Jerseys , despite often outplaying whoever has been in front of him. As a rookie, it was BenJarvus Green-Ellis, and over the past four years it was Jeremy Hill. Last year, it was also Joe Mixon. For his career, Bernard has taken about a 40/60 split with his fellow running backs with the rushing duties and often ceded short yardage and touchdown carries. Despite this, since joining the Bengals in 2013, Bernard has almost an identical yards from scrimmage as Green-Ellis, Hill, and Mixon combined, despite touching the ball 285 fewer times.Bernard has gained over 2,000 receiving yards since being drafted which is good enough for tenth best in the entire 2013 draft class, even outpacing a trio of wide receivers and a tight end who were drafted in the first and second rounds, ahead of him. What are his chances of making the roster, and where does he currently stand in the pecking order at his position?Giovani BernardHeight: 5’9”Weight: 205 poundsCollege: North CarolinaHometown: Fort Lauderdale, FLExperience: Sixth-Year PlayerCap StatusBernard has two years remaining on a 3-year, $15.5M contract that he signed with the Bengals which took effect after his original rookie contract. The deal will keep him in Cincinnati until 2020, when he is scheduled to enter free agency. The annual average compensation of $5.167M per season makes Bernard the ninth highest paid running back in the NFL. Among the Bengals his average is eleventh highest on the team. BackgroundMost of the self-appointed draft experts had Bernard near the top of their running back board, if not at the very top www.bengalscheapstore.com , for the 2013 draft. He joined the Bengals as a second round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. With no running backs selected in the first round, Bernard was the top overall running back selected in 2013 and has arguably been the second most successful, behind the Steelers’ Le’Veon Bell who was drafted 11 picks later, at #48 overall.Bernard was selected with pick #37 overall, which came to the Bengals as a package of two picks from the Oakland Raiders in exchange for Carson Palmer. Bernard was actually one of two running backs that the Bengals drafted in 2013, selecting Nebraska’s Rex Burkhead in the sixth round. As a freshman at the University of North Carolina, he tore his ACL on the third day of practice and missed his entire first season. In his second season, his redshirt freshman year, he emerged as the team’s starter, compiling 1,253 yards and 13 touchdowns on the group, as well as 362 yards and 45 receptions thru the air. UNC changed their offense for Bernard’s redshirt sophomore season, but he still did well, rushing for over 1,200 yards and added 12 touchdowns. He also collected 47 receptions for 490 receiving yards and five touchdowns. In college, he was an elusive, shifty type of running back who could also serve as a good receiver. He was quick with good vision with the ball in his hands and operated well out in space. Essentially, his traits were that of a great third-down back who could be productive on first and second down Cincinnati Bengals T-Shirt , as well.In hindsight, the 2013 draft was rather awful at the top. Eric Fisher, Luke Joeckel and Dion Jordan were the top three picks, with Barkevious Mingo, Jonathan Cooper, Tavon Austin and Dee Milliner also in the top 10. So, to find anything of value was a job well done, and the Bengals did a good job selecting Bernard.2018 outlookBarring an unforeseen and abrupt retirement from the NFL, Bernard is essentially assured of a spot on the Bengals roster and a big role in the offense. The Bengals have little depth and experience behind him and Joe Mixon, so there is zero percent chance of Bernard being outplayed and losing his roster spot at any point – especially given Marvin Lewis’ penchant for favoring veterans to a fault.Bernard is a good, veteran player at a position that doesn’t have a lot of depth on the roster.NFL Fantasy Football Week 1: Bengals at Colts starts and sits Are you ready for some football? How about some fantasy football? It is that time of year again, and we have a pretty great fantasy matchup for Week 1. The Bengals and Colts have pretty great offensive weapons, and the Colts have a terrible defense, and the Bengals have some holes that can be exploited as well. Here are this weeks starts and sits for the Bengals game at the Colts.Must startsA.J. Green (Bengals WR): Green is pretty much a must start any week. However, who on the Colts can cover Green? He is in line for a huge game.Favorable matchupsJoe Mixon (Bengals RB): Mixon didn’t have a great preseason behind the Bengals offensive line. He only gained 1.8 yards per carry. He still figures to be a massive part of Cincinnati’s game plan, and the Colts run defense may end up being one of the softer against the run this season.Jack Doyle (Colts TE): The Bengals are notoriously bad a covering tight ends. Doyle caught 80 passes last season without Andrew Luck as his quarterback. This seems like an easy one, especially for points per reception leagues. You may even be able to get away with rolling with Eric Ebron if you are in a real pinch at tight end for some reason.T.Y. Hilton (Colts WR): Many Bengals fans may be wary to play Hilton because of William Jackson, but the Colts will likely be able to get Hilton on Dre Kirkpatrick a couple of times. It only takes one big play to make Hilton worth the play.Andy Dalton (Bengals QB): Dalton’s day won’t be taken advantage of by many fantasy owners. He will have have all of his offensive weapons and what looks to be a decent offensive line. It should be a pretty nice day for Dalton Cincinnati Bengals Hats , who could become a pretty hot waiver wire pick up after a big game against a weak defense.Good but not greatAndrew Luck (Colts QB): Luck may be running for his life on Sunday. The few times Luck is actually able to get the ball off may be fruitful, but the thought of him throwing it under duress the whole game isn’t ideal.Marlon Mack or Jordan Wilkins (Colts RBs):Mack is questionable right now, but of he goes he is a nice flex option. If he doesn’t then Wilkins is more of a possible flex option if you’re in a pinch. I’d feel far safer with Mack, but I understand Bell owners may be looking over the waiver wire Week 1. The Bengals have had trouble giving up yards, and more importantly, points to opposing running backs. I wouldn’t expect anything spectacular, but they could have a few big plays.John Ross (Bengals WR): Ross isn’t a guy that you should start week in and week out. He just won’t see the necessary volume over the season. However, the Bengals will look to prove people wrong by hitting a few big plays to their first round pick from last season against the likes of Kenny Moore and Nate Hairston. (Actual Colts’ corner backs)Tyler Eifert (Bengals TE): If Eifert is healthy he should be in your line up. He is a red zone monster, and he is a huge mismatch anywhere on the field. He isn’t higher because between Green, Mixon and Ross there are only so many opportunities, but Eifert will make the most of his.Just sit themBoth defenses: This game could turn into a shoot out very quickly. The saving grace for the Bengals defense is that they could pile up plenty of sacks, but that will only get them so many points. This is still Luck’s first game in quite some time, so it is hard to believe the Bengals will totally shutdown their offense. As for the Colts, there are just too many Bengals players capable of hurting them. They could try and take away Green, but with guys like Eifert, Mixon and Ross, Cincinnati should still be able to move the ball pretty easily.
http://www.ramsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-aaron-donald-jersey The Los Angeles Rams are “all in” for the 2018 NFL season. They won the NFC West title in 2017, signed a bunch of star free agents - the likes of Brandin Cooks, Aqib Talib, Marcus Peters, and Ndamukong Suh - this offseason. They re-upped stud defensive lineman Aaron Donald for six more years. They rested all preseason in hopes of carrying a healthy team into the regular season and postseason. Their chances of making the playoffs in back-to-back years seems strong. But not as strong as the Seattle Seahawks Greg Zuerlein Jersey , according to FiveThirtyEight. Well how could that be? The Seattle Seahawks didn’t win the NFC West last season. The Seattle Seahawks didn’t load up on star talent. They don’t have the reigning Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year and a head coach to match. The answer, you see, is quite simple: math. Here’s how you make sense of it. Step 1: Do thisEasy enough. Step 2: Add a dash of this Are you still with me? Thought so! Step 3: Finish it off with a sprinkle of this And voila! There you have it. The Rams should get around 8 wins and have a 39% chance of making the playoffs and the Seahawks should get to 9 wins and have a 48% chance. Hard to argue with that! Any questions?Los Angeles Rams QB Jared Goff wins NFC Offensive Player of the Month for September 2018 For the first time since being drafted #1 overall in the 2016 NFL Draft, Los Angeles Rams QB Jared Goff has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Month for September 2018.It’s a stark piece of evidence of how much Goff has grown just two and a quarter seasons into his young career. This comes on the heels of Goff winning NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his amazing Week 4 performance on Thursday Night Football.Goff is the first Rams QB to be named the NFC OPOTM since Hall of Fame QB Kurt Warner earned it in September 2000.He’s obviously hit the highest peak of his career. Week 5 is here Youth Chris Conley Jersey , and after figuring in the data from the number-crunchers we’ve been tracking, the Kansas City Chiefs are still in second place overall behind the Los Angeles Rams. But the Jacksonville Jaguars — the team the Chiefs face at Arrowhead on Sunday — are right behind them! Here’s how the crunchers see the NFL this week:Cruncher Power Rankings for Week 5Chiefs AFC West Teams Other AFC TeamsThe Chiefs are still looking good, with an average cruncher ranking of third, which is down one spot from last week.Elo still likes the Chiefs — ranking them first — because the Chiefs are the last remaining undefeated team from last season’s top teams. The Rams — the other undefeated team — started the season from farther back in the pack, so by Elo’s reckoning, that’s only good for third right now.DVOA continues to be impressed with the overall play of the Chiefs so far — especially on offense.PE and SRS both give the Chiefs upticks in their rankings following their four-point victory over the Denver Broncos. Now let’s average the Pundit Power Rankings from Tuesday with the Cruncher Power Rankings we just showed you.True Power Rankings for Week 5Chiefs AFC West Teams Other AFC TeamsAs you can see, the Chiefs are still ranked second in the Week 5 True Power Rankings — tops in the AFC, and well ahead of their division rivals — which serves to confirm what we saw in Tuesday’s pundit power rankings.Elsewhere, the crunchers continue to like the Baltimore Ravens more than the pundits do. They’re holding steady with DVOA, SRS and PE — and with their 3-1 record, they’re catching up in Elo. But although the pundits are taking notice — ranking them seventh on Tuesday — they’re not yet convinced. In the crunchers’ estimation, the Green Bay Packers and the New England Patriots both rise by double digits this week, and the Miami Dolphins and Pittsburgh Steelers take a hard tumble. The pundits, however, didn’t see a big change with the Packers.Otherwise they agreed White Terrance Smith Jersey , giving boosts to the Patriots and downgrading the Dolphins and Steelers. Now let’s look at the grades for the week:Cruncher Grades for Week 5Chiefs AFC West Teams Other AFC TeamsNow that we’re a quarter of the way through the season, we can give the crunchers a little more credit for what they say.And here we see that the both the Chiefs and Jaguars are facing their toughest test of the season this Sunday. Both teams have faced four average (or below average) opponents thus far: the Chiefs have played the Chargers, Steelers, 49ers and Broncos, while the Jaguars have played the Giants (below average), Patriots, Titans and Jets. The only obvious difference is that the Chiefs have prevailed in all four of their games, while the Jaguars lost to the Titans.Still... it ought to be a barn-burner at Arrowhead on Sunday afternoon!Enjoy the game, and starting on Tuesday, we’ll see how the result from that game — and those from all the Week 5 games — shakes things up.Arrowheadlines: Chiefs projected to win AFC West by NFL.com model The latestFivethirtyeight.com spits out good Chiefs season ... and another AFC West title | Kansas City StarAFC win-total projections: Patrick Mahomes-led Chiefs own West | NFLNo shortage of confidence in offense for Patrick Mahomes | KCTV 5NFL Network analytics expert: Chiefs are the ‘AFC’s biggest boom-or-bust team’ | Kansas City StarDerwin James can soothe a Chargers headache against the Chiefs | ESPN2018 NFL Predictions: Expert picks for Super Bowl, MVP and all of the major awards | CBS SportsWeek 1 Fantasy Preview: Travis Kelce | NBC SportsHow Many NFL Teams Really Have a Franchise QB? | Sports IllustratedNFL 2018: Which division is the best in the league? It’s possible — albeit unlikely — that neither the Green Bay Packers nor Detroit Lions could have 46 healthy players on Sunday for their week five matchup at Ford Field. On the two teams’ Friday injury reports Authentic Aaron Rodgers Jersey , there were a total of 19 players listed: nine for Green Bay and ten for Detroit.Of those players, four are listed as out, with Randall Cobb the only Packer sure to miss the contest. The Lions have a pair of starters down: defensive end Ziggy Ansah and guard T.J. Lang.Meanwhile, 15 players are questionable, including a new name for the Packers’ report: cornerback Bashaud Breeland, who now appears on the report with a hamstring issue. The Packers may still have the services of wideouts Davante Adams and Geronimo Allison, as both were in the questionable group as well. Finally, the Packers had four players on practice reports who did not get a final injury status and thus are likely to play on Sunday. That group consists of right tackle Bryan Bulaga, tight end Jimmy Graham, cornerback Kevin King, and quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Here’s a look at the complete reports for both teams.Packers Injury ReportOUTWR Randall Cobb (hamstring)QuestionableWR Davante Adams (calf)CB Jaire Alexander (groin)WR Geronimo Allison (concussion/hamstring)CB Bashaud Breeland (hamstring)S Kentrell Brice (ankle)G Justin McCray (shoulder)G Lucas Patrick (back)S Jermaine Whitehead (back)Lions Injury ReportOUTDE Ezekiel Ansah (shoulder)G T.J. I’d even venture to say they’re decent.Collectively, they’re the equivalent of sugar cookies. They’re good, and on occasion can really hit the spot, but they shouldn’t be anyone’s favorite dessert.Aaron Jones is like an ice cream cookie; he’s versatile, and (for the lactose intolerant) can be much more explosive than the other two.Jones, in his first game back off of suspension, made an instant impact on offense and showed why he’s the better choice for the Green Bay Packers at running back.On his first carry of the game, Jones made the right read but even with that read, if the first tackle was made, the play goes for a short gain of a yard or two. There’s some good and some bad with this play; the bad is that McCarthy is asking Jimmy Graham to run block a defensive end, which absolutely incenses me due to the sheer stupidity of the task. That’s like asking Andy Reid to run a marathon and expect him to finish top 30.Andy Reid is great, and Graham is great Authentic Josh Jackson Jersey , but they are great at different things than what you’re asking of them.Jimmy Graham has never, in his 9 year NFL career, been a good blocker.Having him line up on the line with his hand in the ground and try to block Ryan Kerrigan on the edge is a giant L for the offense.Fortunately, there’s some good that helps mitigate this disaster.Corey Linsley, as the uncovered backside man, pulls to his right (I love it when you get a center pulling) and is there to cleanup the mess. The rest of the linemen block the man covering them with playside leverage meaning their head, hands and hips are to the playside of their defender, between their man and the ballcarrier. The linemen got a good burst off the line; Lane Taylor has already taken a step to his left by the time his man started to stand up out of his stance. Both Taylor and Justin McCray get good leverage and do a great job holding on to their blocks throughout the length of the run, and their success with those blocks sets up Jones well. With Linsley pulling, Taylor getting his DT, and David Bakhtiari dropping back to seal off the backside DE, Green Bay leaves the Will backer, #54 Mason Foster unblocked. This play is betting that Foster will take a conservative inside-out read - which he does - and Jones will run to the outside of him, rendering him useless at the point of attack.Had Foster scraped over the top, he would have met Jones in the hole, but instead he gets caught in traffic and doesn’t affect the play.Bulaga picks up the other inside linebacker with ease, as he also jumps inside in an effort to get to Jones, and in the process, renders himself useless and the hole is now vacated by any front-7 defender. The issue is, Geronimo Allison isn’t able to block Josh Norman, who slices inside and gets his hands on Jones.Norman, if he would have made the tackle http://www.greenbaypackersteamonline.com/blake-martinez-jersey , stops this play for a short gain. This is where Jones’ elusiveness comes in; he puts a spin move on Norman and easily runs through his arm tackle (and an outstretched leg), and then proceeds to run through a Damarious Randall-esque attempt at a tackle by Montae Nicholson. The end result was 10 yards, and it all looked too easy.Until he did it again on the very next play. This time Graham was split out wide along with everyone else including Jones, and Washington only had 6 men in the box.Blocking was zone scheme and Green Bay decided to leave the backside DE, who was lined up in the 9 technique, unblocked.Again, the thinking is that a player lined up so far away from the intended running lane isn’t going to have an impact on the ball carrier until 4 or 5 yards downfield at the earliest due simply to the angles of the running back vs. the defender, as long as Jones hits the hole without hesitation.Jones came in motion all the way back to the immediate left of Rodgers and got the handoff. Each blocker won their respective battle, and again, Jones picks up 9 yards.Credit both the play design as well as the linemen here; spreading out Washington left open running lanes which means the only thing left to do is execute, and Green Bay did just that. The last play I’ll go over is something that gets me more excited for a competent run game than the other two plays. There’s a lot going on here, so stay patient with me.I’ll show you the play in full to start.Let’s start with the left side.Remember how I got steamed about how Jimmy Graham was being used as a blocker on the LOS? Well, McCarthy must have heard me yelling at him through the TV because he did the right thing this time.Instead of having Graham try and block anybody, he sprints to the flat and looks over his shoulder for a pass, and during the handoff, Rogers is looking Graham’s way to sell the possibility of a play-action pass. All of this action caused #53 Zach Brown to misread the play and begin to run with Graham to the outside, as they were in man coverage and Graham was Brown’s man.If Brown didn’t stick with Graham and Rodgers pulled the ball, it’s an easy 6+ yards.Instead, Brown begins to bail, and pulls himself out of the play.Look at his eyes when Jones is already at the LOS:Bakhtiari’s job is pretty easy; as his man doesn’t crash hard inside, all he has to do is stalk-block him and just get in his way a bit.Lane Taylor hops in to his right in order to seal off his man; his job is made even easier as the defensive tackle slants outside at the snap of the ball.Even if his man had gone straight up, Taylor had good positioning to still make the block.Daron Payne Womens Tramon Williams Jersey , the DT lined up over McCray slants inside but gets picked up by Linsley on a down block; had McCray been responsible for Payne, Payne’s slant makes that block difficult and could easily stop Jones at the LOS.Additionally, if Payne gets penetration off the snap it makes Linsley’s downblock more difficult as Payne might be quick enough to get around the block.Instead, Linsley doesn’t have to worry about the penetration as Payne’s first steps are horizontal towards the center.McCray is responsible for the Will linebacker, Foster, who doesn’t make a quick enough read on the play. The typical read is the backfield triangle; guard, RB, guard. While Foster has B gap responsibility, the steps by Lane Taylor end up looking like a hitch step in order to cutoff backside pursuit.A guard would only do this if the play is intended to go wide outside.Similarly, the block by Linsley on Payne could be read as a combo block coming to the 4 hole, or the spot between McCray and Jason Spriggs. The idea on a combo block is to have both Linsley and McCray block Payne and have Linsley work his hips around to McCray’s spot, sealing Payne off inside, while McCray would pop off and pickup Foster. It’s a very common block in zone schemes.Instead, Foster takes a few steps outside and McCray doesn’t even lay a hand on him, as he’s trying to get an idea as to where Foster is going.Mistake.But here’s what got me really excited; it didn’t matter that McCray missed, because Jones had Foster beat! Check out the bend by Jones as soon as he’s in the hole:Jones doesn’t slow down whatsoever, and is able to maintain great body control and leave Foster swiping at a ghost. This play combined the explosiveness that Jamaal Williams doesn’t have and the ability to read the running lane that Ty Montgomery doesn’t possess. Combined with smart scheming on the line, and you end up with 17 yards. All we can do now is hope that McCarthy and company realize that Aaron Jones is the answer at running back and to feed the man the football. If you do, exciting things happen.
The Bengals have waived defensive tackle Chris Okoye and defensive back Josh Shaw from the Reserve/Injured list with injury settlements. Both Okoye and Shaw had been waived/injured as part of the Bengals’ final cuts on Saturday and reverted on Sunday to the team’s Reserve/Injured list after clearing waivers. By waiving them from IR Cheap Vontaze Burfict Jersey , the Bengals can now sign one or both of them to the 53-man roster if they wish.Shaw will be the guy to keep an eye on, at least when he’s fully recovered, as he’s been a regular contributor in the Bengals defense as a safety and cornerback. A fourth-year veteran whom the Bengals selected in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft, Shaw had played in 47 games (14 starts) for the Bengals over the past three seasons.Okoye, a rookie, had signed with the Bengals as a college free agent out of Ferris State University on May 14. He may be a candidate to sign to the practice squad once he’s healthy.Bengals vs. Panthers inactives: Preston Brown and Michael Johnson out The Cincinnati Bengals and Carolina Panthers have announced their inactives for today’s matchup. Both sides came into today with key players already ruled out, but there were some key game-time calls for both teams as well. Here is a look at the Bengals inactive players for Week 3: OL Cedric OgbuehiWR Auden TateLB Preston BrownOL Billy PriceRB Joe MixonDE Michael JohnsonRB Thomas RawlsThe biggest question mark was with Preston Brown, who is still battling an ankle injury, which he suffered in Week 1 against the Colts. He is inactive today http://www.bengalscheapshop.com/cheap-authentic-michael-johnson-jersey , which is a bit of a surprise, and it’s a major loss for an already-thin linebacker group. Michael Johnson is out due to his knee injury, which was expected. Jordan Willis will start in his place. On the other side, here is a look at the Panthers’ inactives today: WR Curtis SamuelWR Damiere ByrdTE Greg OlsenG Trai TurnerLB Andre SmithLorenzo DossMarquis HaynesMost of these guys had already been ruled out prior to today’s game due to injuries, including Trai Turner, who’s developed into one of the NFL’s better guards. Tight end Greg Olsen also remains out with his foot injury; he’s not expected to return soon. That’s a big loss for a Carolina offense that already struggles to throw the ball. On the flip side, it’s good news for the Bengals who struggle mightily against tight ends.
