And while the new league, which is currently in the ninth week of its ten-week-long regular season, will reportedly not yet fold, it certainly looks like that step will be taken sooner rather than later. If those reports therefore hold true, the league will be over soon.Founded by Charlie Ebersol and ex-NFL executive Bill Polian Isaiah Wynn Jersey , the league consisted of eight teams which played their first-ever games over the course of the weekend after the New England Patriots’ victory in Super Bowl 53. The AAF was clearly a notch below the NFL, but it still had plenty of entertainment value and adequate enough talent to for further growth — in part due to its experimental nature when it comes to rules and officiating.Ultimately, the league’s demise appears to have more to do with internal issues regarding majority owner Tom Dundon. Just last week, Dundon threatened to pull the plug for the league — one in which he invested $250 million — in case the NFL Players Association didn’t comply with the AAF’s wishes to get access to depth players in order help his own league become more competitive and closer tie itself to its big brother.However, it appears as if no such thing will happen. While the AAF — which according to Sports Illustrated’s Conor Orr was caught by surprise by the initial report — could still be saved, it appears as if it will join the USFL, the XFL Womens Danny Etling Jersey , and other defunct leagues in the pro football graveyard.Patriots release recently acquired wide receiver Amara Darboh again When the dust that was the NFL’s cutdown day had settled, the New England Patriots were left with only three pure wide receiver under contract. As a result, the team put two waiver claims on recently released players at the position – and were able to get them both onto their 53-man roster: former New York Jets wideout Chad Hansen was claimed, as was former Seattle Seahawks receiver Amara Darboh.Both were projected to serve as depth pieces alongside Chris Hogan, Phillip Dorsett and Cordarrelle Patterson at least until Julian Edelman returned from his four-game suspension. However, it looks as if only Hansen will do that: according to ESPN’s Field Yates, New England has decided to part ways with Darboh again.NFL Network’s Mike Garofolo added some more information shortly afterwards:Given Garofolo’s report Youth Isaiah Wynn Jerseys , it would not be a surprise if the Patriots opted to waive Darboh with an injury designation. If that were to be the case, the 2017 third-round draft pick would revert to New England’s injured reserve list in case he cleared waivers. At that point in time, however, that is all just speculation. What we know is this: Darboh’s stint with the Patriots comes to and end after only a few days.With Darboh gone, the Patriots could look to add another wide receiver. They currently have the aforementioned quartet on their active team as well as two more pass catchers on the practice squad in Riley McCarron and Jace Billingsley – the latter is not yet officially signed, though.
