Fantasy Football Week 1: Which Eagles Should I Start?

Since bringing Head Coach Doug Pederson aboard, this offense has become very difficult to project from an individual production standpoint so we will do our best to guide you down the path of fantasy righteousness while using your favorite players. Nick Foles: SITUnless you’re in a 2QB league, don’t waste your time starting the Super Bowl MVP in week 1 (that was a weird sentence to type). (QB2)Jay Ajayi: STARTWithout Matt Jones LeGarrette Blount, Ajayi’s share of touches should only go up. While Ajayi may never be the fantasy asset he was in 2016 for Miami, he should be a solid RB2 to have on your roster throughout the season. (RB2)Corey Clement: SITSomeday he will be a starter (looking at you Joshhhhhhhhhhhhhh and fellow Clement Fan Club members) but not quite yet. Until we see his role in the offense it’s too hard to predict what he’ll do for your team. (RB4/5)Darren Sproles: SITSee Corey Clement above (RB4/5)Nelson Agholor: STARTAgholor seems to be valued in the high end WR3/FLEX territory coming into week 1 but after showing dramatic improvement throughout 2017, it doesn’t seem so far fetched to think he will show up ready to play in week 1. (WR2)Mike Wallace: SITMike Wallace is the replacement for Torrey Smith in terms of the top Philly Streaming WR option in likeable match-ups. This game is not one of those instances. (WR5)Zach Ertz: STARTZach Ertz has finally entered the “Always Start” category for Tight Ends. Even with Foles behind center, Ertz will get plenty of targets (TE1)Dallas Goedert: SITIf you are already desperate for a streaming TE option, Goedert is a touchdown dependent option. Without Alshon in the lineup Authentic Nick Foles Jersey , Goedert should benefit more than any other player in terms of his chances to score a redzone TD. However, for most people, this gamble is too rich for my blood in week 1. (TE2/3)Jake Elliott: STARTThe second year player is a starting kicker in most formats. Doug’s aggressive play calling will take points away from him at times, but Doug’s high scoring offense will give those points back and more. (K1)Eagles Defense & Special Teams: SITThis one may surprise you, but the Falcons are one of the more potent offenses that Philadelphia will face this year and Julio Jones has been known to shred the Eagles’ secondary from time to time. GO BIRDS!!Sam Bradford benched after just three starts into his $40 million contract The Arizona Cardinals are stupid. For some reason, they thought it’d be a great idea to sign the oft-injured, perpetually mediocre-at-best Sam Bradford to a two-year contract worth $40 million ($15 million guaranteed) this offseason.Arizona did this AFTER Bradford was only to play one game in 2017 due to a lingering knee issue that was described as “degenerative.” And the Cardinals actually gave him a RAISE from last year! To no surprise, the Bradford signing has already proved to be a flop just three games into the 2018 season. The 30-year-old quarterback is averaging a mere 5.0 yards per attempt and he’s thrown two touchdowns to four interceptions (plus he’s fumbled three times). His passer rating checks in at 62.5, which is bad.The Cards have admitted their mistake by benching Bradford. Arizona will be starting rookie quarterback Josh Rosen this week, which is the right move for them. Bradford was just always a complete waste of time.If you’re wondering why I’m so frustrated by the Cardinals’ stupidity, it’s because they were stupid in a way that didn’t help the Eagles. If Arizona was going to be so reckless at the quarterback position Womens Ronald Darby Jersey , why couldn’t they have traded two first round picks for Nick Foles? At least they could’ve used the Super Bowl MVP angle a selling point to their fans. Another annoyance with the Bradford signing is that it’s going to net the Vikings a 2019 third-round compensatory pick. But then again, that 2019 mid-round pick pales in comparison to the value that Minnesota surrendered to the Eagles when the Vikings traded for Bradford back in 2016. Philadelphia ultimately got Derek Barnett, who forced a key strip-sack against the Vikings in the NFC Championship Game and recovered Brandon Graham’s strip-sack in the Minnesota-hosted Super Bowl, and Josh Sweat with the 2017 first-round pick and the 2018 fourth-round pick the Eagles received for Bradford. It remains to be seen if teams have finally learned their lesson when it comes to Bradford. I won’t believe it until I see it. Maybe it’s worth holding out hope that Pat Shurmur will try to bring him to the Giants if/when New York moves on from Eli Manning after this season. Or, hey, the Cowboys could really use a new starting quarterback.
