Vrabel: Both Mariota and Gabbert will play against the Texans

It’s been a rollercoaster of a week in regards to the Marcus Mariota injury report. Following an injury on Sunday that forced him to exit against the Dolphins Authentic Kamalei Correa Jersey , Mariota sat out Monday and Tuesday. He was a full participant in Wednesday’s session, then a limited participant on Thursday. Vrabel sounded confident on Wednesday, but clearly some sort of setback has taken place here. Mariota didn’t throw in the open portion of practice today. Now Vrabel says that both Blaine Gabbert and Mariota could play on Sunday. “We are evaluating. Or maybe he’s just telling us Mariota isn’t going to play, but he doesn’t want to tip his hands to the Texans yet. We probably unfairly pigeonholed him as just a slot guy last season. He’s been handling outside work with success so far in camp. It’s even been speculated that he could be the Titans’ version of Sammy Watkins, which could prove to be valuable to other receivers on the team working in the intermediate.Having that speed element is something the Titans haven’t had in some time. Hopefully Taylor continues his progress and becomes a consistent winner downfield for Marcus Mariota.
