It seems like only yesterday I was reporting on the first couple of colleges that were starting to give out eSports scholarships, and everybody was laughing. Well, some people still might be laughing, but the practice is considerably more prevalent today, and moving to bigger and larger programs. Nothing wrong with this, and that I don't see why scholarships shouldn't be awarded for video games in the event the school is determined sufficient to establish a dedicated program for this. Why not? And no, I'm not getting sucked in to this "are esports real sports" Disagreement for the thousandth time, as I believe it does not matter, and also the fact is that we exist in an era when colleges are ready to pay people to play with video games, and millions of people are watching these events live and online streams.
