Another spirited battle by the 49ers

Nick Mullens had a great debut on Thursday Night Football a couple of weeks ago where he did not have a turnover. On Monday however, he had 2 interceptions. One gave the Giants the ball at the SF 12 yard line. The Giants would go on to score on a Odell Beckham touchdown to take a 7-3 lead. The 2nd interception gave the Giants the ball at midfield. The defense was able to hold the Giants off and they were forced to punt. The difference in most of the games they have lost has come down to the turnovers. If they can fix that issue, they could have more wins. The 49ers are hoping Nick takes care of the ball more like the Raiders game rather than the Giants game.The bright spots this season have been Matt Breida and George Kittle. They continued their great seasons on Monday night. Breida ran 17 times for 101 yards and a touchdown. He also had 31 yards in the air with a touchdown. He is in the top 10 in rushing yards. George Kittle had 9 catches for 83 yards. He is 3rd in the league for passing yards by a tight end. Both could hit 1,000 yard seasons and Kittle seems to be a lock for a Pro Bowl spot. So what did he do with his “offensive weapon” in Week 2 against the Detroit Lions? He changed everything.It’s no surprise that the coach used him more — 40 offensive plays (62.5%) vs. only 26 in Week 1.
