Online gaming up 22% in US - Report

In March, the NPD Group reported that massively multiplayer video game sales outstripped their non-genre competitors in 2008. Now a whole new report suggests that continuing development of online gaming is as simple as no means limited on the massively multiplayer segment.

As of May 2009, 87.2million people were gaming online within the US, a 22 percent increase in the previous year, as outlined by RuneScape Mobile Gold a study created by comScore in May 2009. Analysts learned that although the volume of Internet users remained mostly stagnant--up just 2 percent over a year ago--Web users are flocking to games.
