Prosecutors say former NFL cornerback Brandon Browner has been charged with trying to kill his ex-girlfriend after breaking into her Southern California home.
Browner Brandon Manning Jersey , who won Super Bowls with the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots, was arrested Sunday east of Los Angeles.
The LA County District Attorney’s Office says the 33-year-old was charged Tuesday with attempted murder, first-degree residential robbery and other counts. It wasn’t immediately clear if he has a lawyer. Arraignment is scheduled for July 30.
Prosecutors say Browner broke into the apartment Tyler Bozak Jersey , chased and dragged the woman and then tried to smother her in a carpet. Prosecutors say he also stole a Rolex watch valued at about $20,000.
Browner is from nearby Pomona and played for Oregon State University before signing with the Seahawks in 2011.
Chiefs safety Eric Berry is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Chargers in Los Angeles after missing most of training camp and all four preseason games with a heel injury.
Chiefs trainer Rick Burkholder and coach Andy Reid said this week that Berry was "literally day to day," but he did not take part in any practices. That makes it unlikely that Berry Colton Parayko Jersey , who missed most of last season with a ruptured Achilles tendon, will play in the Chiefs' regular-season opener.
His absence is a big one for Kansas City, which also is missing safety Daniel Sorensen to a broken bone in his leg. Ron Parker is expected to start at one safety spot a week after resigning with the team Adrian Kempe Jersey , and Eric Murray and rookie Armani Watts will handle the other position.
Berry was the only play to show up on the Chiefs' injury report.
