Broncos owner Pat Bowlen and former Cowboys player personnel director Gil Brandt are the contributor nominees for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2019.
Five members of the contributor committee met for more than five hours before selecting the two candidates from a list of 10 finalists. Bowlen and Brandt will join seniors nominee Johnny Robinson on the final ballot http://www.greenbaypackersteamonline.com/lance-kendricks-jersey , along with five modern-era candidates.
The 48 selectors will meet on the Saturday before Super Bowl LIII, with all finalists needing 80 percent affirmation to be elected.
Bowlen, who has Alzheimer’s, is entering his 35th season as the Broncos’ owner with three Super Bowl victories. He also played a big part on several prominent NFL committees.
David Baker, the president of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, called Broncos president and CEO Joe Ellis to deliver the news.

Brandt worked for the Cowboys from 1960-89 and continues to work for NFL.com and SiriusXM NFL Radio.
“Well, I might drive off the highway,” Brandt said. “I’m excited. I’m lost for words, and that doesn’t happen very often. This Maliek Collins Jersey , without question, is one of the greatest things that has ever happened to me in my life.”
Bob Costas won’t be working the Super Bowl for NBC next month.
The longtime broadcaster was not included in the network’s lineup for the NFL title game telecast from Minneapolis on Feb. 4, leading to speculation that Costas’ comments about head injuries in football might have affected the decision.
Dan Patrick and Liam McHugh will host the broadcast.
An NBC Sports spokesperson said: ”Dan and Liam have served as hosts for our NFL pregame/studio shows on Sunday nights and Thursday nights, respectively, throughout the season and will continue on Super Bowl Sunday.”
Costas said: ”Dan and Liam have done the job hosting NBC’s NFL coverage all season. It wouldn’t be right for me to parachute in and do the Super Bowl.”
When he stepped down as host of the Olympics last February, Costas was expected to keep his Super Bowl duties because Mike Tirico Travis Frederick Jersey , his Olympic replacement, would be in South Korea.
Costas hosted NBC’s Super Bowl pregame coverage in 1986, 1989, 1993, 2009, 2012 and 2015.
