Hands on with Rec Royale, Playstation VR's response to Fortnite

As a virtual reality enthusiast as well as a huge fan of battle royale games, I've been eagerly awaiting a VR version with the last person standing formula for quite a while now.

There have already been a few has the battle royale genre on PC based VR platforms, definitely. Games like Fortnite Items Stand Out VR or Bullets And More VR appeal to those with a Vive or perhaps an Oculus but, for PSVR owners at all like me, the options has been severely limited.


That's where Rec Royale can be purchased in.

Rec Royale is simply small portion of Rec Room, a social VR app that acts as part meeting place, part mini-game hub where players will take Fortnite Weapons part in professional sports, fantastical quests and in many cases games of Charades.

When Rec Room first appeared around the PSVR that it was in early beta and, whilst it had a sensitive paintball-themed team deathmatch mode, it turned out terribly limited and was hampered massively with a teleport-only control scheme.
