New Fortnite Update Adds Crossbow And More This Week |
A new update for Fortnite is on how soon, and it also features new content for that explosively popular, free-to-play Battle Royale mode on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Epic Games has provided an entire rundown on which to expect from update 2.4.2, and also a look at what's just around the corner. [Update: The new Fortnite update is otherwise engaged now.]
For Battle Royale players, new Valentine's Day-themed skins are now being added, essentially in the image below. More significantly, the update marks adding the new "silent" weapon that is teased with the New Updates screen recently. That's ended up being the Crossbow, which fires arrows, a brand new ammo type which is unlimited in supply. It can be obtained in treasure chests or as loot on Fortnite Skins ; Rare and Epic versions are offered also.
This patch also features some bug fixes for Battle Royale, including preventing players from sliding off from rooftops and getting through a collision issue in connection with corners in basements. It also updates the recently launched Shooting Test Limited-Time mode. Rather than like a squad activity, it'll now basically playable solo. Headshots with shotguns will do 200% damage (in lieu of 150%), along with the Scoped Assault Rifle gets some buffs. Additionally, Epic notes that it must be aware that stat and challenge progress isn't saved when playing the mode, to not want to consider it inside the meantime if that is a concern to suit your needs.
As noted recently, the Valentine's Day event for Fortnite Items 's co-op mode, Save the World, would have to be pushed back. The upcoming 2.5.0 patch will discover the launch of the Valentine's Day event, which includes a whole new questline called "a love story, told the Fortnite way." There are new heroes associated with the event, in addition to the Cupid Crossbow weapon. Separate from that, there's a whole new "reactive" quest type plus an option to raise the difficulty to take delivery of better rewards.
Subsequently, update 3.0.0 will launch the Spring It On event and produce an overhaul towards Fortnite Items Fortnite Items 's music, while patch 3.1.0 brings another week of Sprint It On content, improvements for the quest map, and much more.
