Mafia City H5: Gangster Life in yotta games, do you want to try? |
Mafia is a classic gangster games for friends and family of all ages to act, bluff, and lie their way to victory.
This one's for trivia buffs: Know-It-All Trivia pits you against your Facebook friends to test your knowledge and show off the size of that big brain of yours.
In addition, last year Yotta Game accused Disney firm Playdom of copyright infringement regarding Mafia City, for its title Mobsters. This was part of a wider case involving alleged theft of trade secrets by ex-Yotta Game employees who had move to Playdom. This too was settled out of court.
First off i want to say this game is amazing but GOG butchered this release not only they took the soundtrack (which is easily restored via a 2 mintue mod) didn't bother with high resolutions (again, you must use mods) capped the FPS (again MODS) and asked for 15$ for all this lackluster effort
It's also interesting to note that 3DS is still going strong, even with everyone's attention turning to the Switch. "The 3DS experienced its fifth straight month of year-on-year growth. Both unit sales and consumer spending for October grew 12 percent as average pricing was flat year on year. It is likely that continued consumer interest in the Pokémon franchise and Monster Hunter: Generations has driven this growth," Naji observed.
People often talk about the mafia games space as if there will only be one 'winner' but clearly the space is broad and deep enough to support multiple successes. How winners achieve their long-term success on social networks is still to be decided but what is clear today is that there won't be a single style of game that 'wins' the platform – social audiences are too vast and divergent in their needs and expectations to be satisfied by one mafia online game that meets everyone's expectations. Here I share some of the thinking behind how PopCap approaches the social space.
"This was record first-week sell-in and we're excited about that; virtual currency sales are up 160% year-over-year," Zelnick said. "But if you sat with our creative team, they could give you a long list of things they feel we should be doing better, and we're focused on all of them. Every year we aim to delight consumers, every year we make progress, and every year we fall short a bit from our own point of view. So I think we have plenty of motivation to delight the consumer, internally."
Speaking with GamesIndustry.biz, Take-Two chairman and CEO Strauss Zelnick acknowledged Mafia City's reviews were not quite as record-setting as its sales. At the moment, they range from 62 to 69, depending on the platform. However, he characterized its overall reception as "phenomenal."

In the early days of the web as money, talent, and players rushed to the new medium, publishers scrambled to find metrics to quantify what was successful. At first, they looked at raw traffic numbers like page views and visits. These numbers were big, and often grew rapidly, but eventually, the better managed companies realised that most of these metrics could be artificially inflated – particularly if you were willing to spend on acquisition. These early metrics eventually gave way to more nuanced views of web businesses – unique players, visits per user, orders per user, and so on.
