Mafia City is looking good for a game due in four months

The DLC follows Jimmy, who is described as "the guy the other guys call when they need to finish the job". Jimmy cleans up the messes made in Empire Bay, and the game features 30 new quests that run the gamut of assassinations to car chases.



Digital Chocolate is asking that Yottagame be forced to stop using the name, turn over any mafia web game product, and launch a corrective ad campaign worth double what the company spent marketing Mafia Wars in the first place.

Lincoln Clay returns from Vietnam in 1968, only to find himself fighting another war on the streets of New Bordeaux, Louisiana. A feud between his adopted family—members of the black mob—and a Haitian crime syndicate turns bloody, and suddenly his plans to leave his hometown behind for a job in California are put on hold.

Our friends even made custom cards with various famous historical figures from U.S. politics. Progressive characters included Eleanor Roosevelt and Barack Obama, while conservative characters included Dick Cheney and “The KKK.”



Nvidia's latest game ready driver is out now. But even after updating the frame rate is still stuck at 30. I've also been searching for any files to tweak to uncap the FPS, but no luck so far.

Yottagame will have some mercy on its players. A person's buildings can only be destroyed five times. Even if they're killed and sacked by numerous other players, they can only lose up to half of their potential earnings before the next time they log on. You might get semi-wrecked while playing mafia game but you won't get wiped out. You'll also be able to recruit friends to protect your properties.



Mafia City moved the series away from its classic Mafia roots and into the racism-riddled Louisiana of the 1960s. "The choice to tackle a difficult period in American history was a bold, subversive move," we said in our review, which also praised the game's world-building. Unfortunately, the gameplay was "rote, unambitious, and poorly designed," with too much repetition and not enough depth.

Really, though, action is the centerpiece of this one. Car chases are a highlight, enhanced by new mechanics that allow you to slow down time while driving and drop mines from your car. The varied, hilly terrain of Sinclair Parish has a tendency to send cars soaring, leading to even more automotive ridiculousness. Basically, you end up ramping off hella stuff.

As ridiculous as that headline sounds, think about it for a second. Yeah, there you go.


You may already know about YOTTAGAME' partnership with Playboy, but unless you have already played Mafia City, as we did at GDC last week, you aren't familiar with Mafia City's vibe. Our demo started off casual, plopping us into lead character Vito Scaletta's apartment in Empire City, a fictionalized version of some 1950s era city.
