Ahead of rookie minicamp, Buffalo inked eight UDFAs but still has three spots left on their 90-man roster and a slew of rookies coming in for a tryout this weekend.Here are some short scouting reports on all the signed players.LB Tyrel Dodson, Texas A&MPoor measurables and instincts; he does have the speed you want in a linebacker prospect. May be best suited to an outside linebacker roll where he is free of blockers and able to punish runners in space.WR Nick Easley, IowaOnly 5�11�, Easley was purportedly quick enough at his pro day to earn a position in the slot. Iowa doesn�t field the most prolific passing offense, but he came down with 52 catches last season to lead the team.LB Juwan Foggie, CharlotteA late convert to the linebacker position, Foggie was originally a wide receiver, so you know he has good speed for the position. Took well to the position change, but has only spent two years as a linebacker.OL Blake Hance, NorthwesternAn experienced four-year starter along the offensive line for Northwestern. Has the size you want, but never really became a solid tackle in college. Could be worth a look inside, as he paved the way for two very productive running backs during his time.QB Tyree Jackson, BuffaloA prototype quarterback, Jackson is knocked for his polish but there are things to like about his game in addition to his size and arm. His pocket work and his ability to improvise Youth Devin Singletary Jersey , in particular, was better than many prospects at the position this year.CB Cam Lewis, BuffaloWas a starting outside cornerback with the Bulls this past season, managing to show off his ball skills by coming down with three key interceptions. Has decent speed and size for the position, but could be asked to move inside.K Chase McLaughlin, IllinoisNever missed an extra point in his career and was 4-of-6 from beyond 50 yards out during his senior season. Made 20 field goals in 2018, and was ranked second in the country in 50+ yard makes. Seems to have a big enough leg.WR David Sills V, West VirginiaCame late to the position as a former quarterback recruit, but quickly put up big numbers at WVU with Will Grier. Poor athlete, but has some ability to high-jump passes. Was deadly in the red zone in college.With the retirement of Derek Anderson, Jackson certainly has a path to the Bills� opening day roster. Buffalo kept just two quarterbacks the last two cut-down days, though. In 2017 it was Tyrod Taylor and Nathan Peterman with Joe Webb meeting with special teams and wide receivers more than QBs. In 2018, Peterman and rookie Josh Allen were all who were left after the trade of AJ McCarron. Sills also has a great shot for the roster, considering the question marks at wide receiver in Buffalo. They presumably have at least one wide-open roster spot for the position where he�ll be competing with Isaiah McKenzie, Ray-Ray McCloud III Womens Devin Singletary Jersey , Duke Williams, and a couple other players who were on Buffalo�s roster a year ago at various points in time.McLaughlin is another player who could crack the roster, as kicker Stephen Hauschka was not good as the season progressed following an injury. If he�s healthy and back to his old form, they won�t move on from him. If he�s not, the big-legged kicker from Illinois has a strong shot.Last year, only Robert Foster made the opening-day roster as a UDFA but Cam Phillips replaced him before they were swapped back. Cornerback Levi Wallace was added after the Vontae Davis fiasco and became the starting cornerback almost immediately. ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) � Matt Patricia had no time to reflect on missing the playoffs for just the second time during 15 NFL seasons.For one, this isn't New England, where the rookie Detroit Lions coach spent his first 14 seasons as an assistant. And, Patricia said, there are still two games left for the Lions to play."I'm not going to put anything into summation," Patricia said after a 14-13 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday mathematically eliminated the Lions from contention. "I think we're going to be focused on this game and trying to make sure to analyze this game and where we can get better," he added. "There's a lot of areas that we can work on."The Lions fell to 5-9 and will miss the playoffs for a second consecutive season, while also guaranteed a losing record for the first time since a 7-9 finish in 2015.The result was indicative of an injury-depleted roster and a team in transition. Leading rusher Kerryon Johnson missed his fourth straight game with a knee injury. Detroit was also dealing with a patchwork group of receivers with Marvin Jones on injured reserve, Bruce Ellington out with a hamstring injury and Golden Tate traded to Philadelphia in October.Though Kenny Golladay had a career-best 146 yards receiving Authentic Devin Singletary Jersey , Detroit punted on six of its final possessions in squandering a 13-7 lead in the fourth quarter.Bills rookie Josh Allen hit undrafted rookie receiver Robert Foster for a 42-yard touchdown with 10:26 remaining. And Allen sealed the victory by leaping for a 2-yard gain to convert a fourth-and-1 at Detroit's 41 with 1:47 left.And the Lions' usually reliable special teams also cost them.Detroit opened the scoring on Stafford's 4-yard touchdown pass to Andy Jones, but botched the extra-point attempt on Don Muhlbach's bad snap."Awful. I didn't do my job right," Muhlbach said, noting he had difficulty raising the ball off the ground. "I let everybody down."Then, following Foster's touchdown, Stafford responded by marching the Lions 45 yards on the next possession only to have kicker Matt Prater miss a 48-yard field goal wide right."I don't have an excuse," said Prater, who entered having hit his previous 14 field-goal attempts. "You want to come through and make plays for your team when you get the opportunity. And it's frustrating not to."Patricia said there was plenty of blame to go around."There's plenty of situations out there on the field where we could do more to do better to help us win," Patricia said. "It starts with me. Have to go out and execute better."Though Stafford finished 22 of 29 for 208 yards passing and a touchdown, the Lions' offense all but dried up in the second half. Detroit managed just 117 yards offense and five first downs over the final two quarters.That was particularly apparent on what proved to be Detroit's final possession. The Lions gained just 2 yards in going three-and-out in punting from their own 33 with 2:56 left."We had our chances and opportunities and just didn't make enough plays as a team," Stafford said."Yeah, it's frustrating. You play this game for the opportunity for the playoffs and a chance to win the whole thing," he added. "So any time that gets taken away from you, it's disappointing."
