The Philadelphia Eagles released their first official injury report on

Wednesday in advance of their Week 10 game against the Dallas Cowboys.Three players did not practice: starting center Jason Kelce Sidney Jones Jerseys 2019 , starting cornerback Jalen Mills, nickel cornerback Sidney Jones. Kelce’s absence was not injury related, although it seems like he’s been playing through pain this year despite not being listed on the injury report. Stefen Wisniewski took first team reps at center.Mills suffered a foot injury during the Eagles-Jaguars game in London. Reports indicate Mills could miss multiple weeks and Doug Pederson did not sound overly optimstic about his chances of suiting up against Dallas. If Mills is out, it’ll likely be Rasul Douglas who starts in his place. It seems like Jones will be out this week but there might be some optimism with his situation. Pederson referred to him as “day-to-day” now instead of “week-to-week.” Jones was also seen doing some rehab work on a side field early in practice. After practice, Jones told Les Bowen that he could return next week against the Saints “if all goes well.”Darren Sproles and Lane Johnson were the most notable players to RETURN to practice. They were both limited. Sproles hasn’t played since Week 1 due to a lingering hamstring issue. Johnson, meanwhile, had to leave the Eagles’ Week 8 game early due to an MCL sprain. Pederson said he expects both Sproles and Johnson to play on Sunday evening.Elsewhere, veteran safety Corey Graham and linebacker Nathan Gerry also returned to the field as limited participants. It’ll be interesting to see how the Eagles use Graham upon his return. The team seems to like the progress Avonte Maddox has made at safety but with Jones likely out the Eagles could opt to play him at nickel corner. Graham could then play at safety. The more likely option, however, might be newly acquired Cre’Von LeBlanc playing in the slot with Maddox staying at safety. Graham would then resume his pre-Rodney McLeod injury role as a sub-package player. Tim Jernigan participated in practice to some extent but he’s not listed on the injury report because he’s still on the reserve/non-football injury list. Pederson said the Eagles are going to “bring him [along] slowly day-by-day.” It doesn’t seem like he’s going to play this week. Mack Hollins and Richard Rodgers, who are still both on the injured reserve list, were seen doing some rehab work on a side field. Both players are eligible to return to the active roster. Keep in mind NFL teams can only activate two players from IR per season. If Hollins and Rodgers are designated as returnees, that means Mike Wallace won’t be able to return this season. At first blush, it might seem like trading for a player in the final year of his contract is unwise, as he could just leave in free agency next year. But if he does, that would help the Eagles acquire compensatory picks.The NFL’s compensatory pick formula gives teams additional draft picks when they lose more free agents than they acquire. That has been a key part of the Eagles’ strategy, and in 2020 they’re poised to lead the way in compensatory picks, as they should get a third-round compensatory pick for losing Nick Foles, and two fourth-rounders for losing Golden Tate and Jordan Hicks.The Eagles traded a third-round pick for Tate last year even though he was in the final season of his contract and has now left in free agency.
